[30] Lifeless Body
M U S U M E H A R U Y O
Looking at my knife, I thought about killing myself. I didn't want to be that blunt but I just had to say it. I wanted to be with my sister. She was all I had, you know?
I guess you never really miss someone so much until someone takes them away. And now, I regretted being a horrible brother to her and not spending enough time just to make her happy.
I stood up, dusting off my pants – the knife still on my hand. Some students had already glanced at me, a bit confused to why I was standing.
Looking back at the knife, I raised it and breathed deeply. This is it. I'll finally be with my sister. Before I could even plunge it in my stomach, Akio stopped me. He grabbed the knife and pulled it out of my grasp before scolding me.
"Don't even think about it," he told me as I looked at him, startled at the tone of his voice. His eyebrows were knitted in confusion, his hand tightly gripped the knife, and everyone had already glanced my way as I hung my head low.
I didn't really know what came over me. I was too consumed of my sister's death that I didn't notice that I was going to kill myself as well.
I knew Kitsame wouldn't be happy to see me with her.
"Akio-" he then interrupted me by giving me a glare and another scold. If I was my old self, I would've told him off. Though, I wasn't. He crossed his arms as I breathed deeply and looked away.
"Killing yourself won't do anything to revive your sister. It would just make her unhappy," he said as Jun tried to tug on Akio's sleeve to give me some time alone. She attempted to pull him back but he didn't even move. He just stood there, still glaring at me. If I was him, I would've done the same anyway. I was being idiotic.
"Akio, can you stop scolding him? Give him some space, would you?" she said as she tried to drag him again. Akio just gave her a look before turning back to face me. And Jun did something that I didn't thought she would do.
She cried.
I knew that she was faking it though. She gave me a nod before doing it after all. But, Akio just had to fell for her act. He looked back to see tears rolling down in Jun's cheeks as she sobbed.
He gave me a quick glare before putting his full attention to her. Turning to face her, he cupped her face with his hands and whispered some soothing words to ease her.
She had stopped crying now and pleaded Akio to stop bugging me and go back. He hesitated at first but when she gave him a frown, he nods and walked back.
"Thanks Jun. I owe you, big time," I said as she gave me a nod. After that, she gave me a hug to comfort me a little bit.
"Just don't kill yourself, alright? Your sister won't be happy to see you dead along with her, you know." I then nodded before she pulled away and walked back to Akio. The ground shook once again, making us stumble a bit. Shortly after, Hidou appeared in the room. This time, there was a guy beside him.
And the most shocking thing was that he was holding a lifeless girl on his arms.
"I'm guessing you all know who she is. Poor unfortunate girl," Hidou said as the guy with red and blue eyes caressed her face before throwing her down on the floor, creating a loud thud inside the room. Some students gasped and some had screamed when he threw her down like she was just a ragdoll.
"Are you sure you won't need her, Haru?" he asked as the guy, Haru, nodded. He just turned back around and faced Hidou with a disgusted look plastered on his face. Putting his hands on the pockets of his jacket, he scoffed afterwards. I guess he doesn't really like Miwa.
"I was getting bored of her anyway. She's a pain, you know. She kept squirming every time I got my hands on her. So, I had to tie her hands with a rope to even get my job done," he said before glancing around the room. He then stopped at a girl who was busy on polishing her knife. He raised her eyebrow before giving Hidou a smirk.
"I like that one. Probably a fighter," Haru said as the girl looked up and gave him a cold glare. She had a blonde hair that was tied into a ponytail, a short sleeved uniform and some bandages were wrapped on her arms and hands. She also had a scar on her left cheek that was visible and noticeable for everyone. She didn't even try to hide it too.
Suddenly, she took out a knife and threw it at Haru.
He didn't budge though. He just stood there and caught the knife she threw before giving it to Hidou. He gave Haru a look before taking it and putting it down on the ground. He then looked at me before looking at the girl. Judging the smirk on his face, I think he had an idea.
And I might not like it.
He suddenly faced me, giving me a fake smile. But underneath that, I could tell that he was giving me an ominous grin. "Musume Haruyo, truth or dare?"
"Hey, that's not fair! The last one should pick the next student! Or Miss Fujimiya should be the one to pick a paper from the hat!" I yelled at him as he just widened his smile at me, making me a bit confused. Why the hell is he smiling? That was against the rules. He broke his own rule. Wait, why the hell is he laughing now?
"Well, didn't I say that I was going to twist this game from now on? And by the way, Musume, we are the rules." He chuckled as I gulped, knowing that he was right. We were just the players here. And as long as we're trapped, they were the game masters in this academy. He then gave me a smirk after he saw my reaction. There was no denying it. He was overjoyed to see me fall.
I then answered, "I choose dare."
