Emma glanced around, before turning and walking up the stairs. One of the maids spotted Emma and walked up to her. "Princess Emma?" Asked the maid In a soft voice, timid glances up towards the princess. Emma jumped slightly but calmed down seeing the maid. "Huh?" She replied, looking towards her. "Princess Emma, where are you going?" Asked the maid, Emma bit her tongue. "Oh, just back to my room, I forgot something." She causally lied to the maid, the maid nodded and scurried away. Emma sighed, turning back towards the hallway and heading towards her room. As she entered, she closed the door behind her and locked It. She spun around and rushed towards her closet, going to the very back and pulling out her favorite outfit. She carefully took the dress off, putting the red flannel and black leggings on and slipping her high tops on. She glanced around the large room, how am I to escape? She thought, her hazel eyes fell upon the closed window of her room. Perfect She grinned, carefully walking over to the window. She stopped herself, turning around and rushing back to her closet. She pulled out a cloak, otherwise the guards would recognize her. She hurried back over to the window, sliding It open. She slid her legs out, holding onto the windowsill, letting go of the windowsill, she put her hood up as she began to quickly fall towards the ground. A couple meters away from the hard ground, where her death would've been, dark red, bat wings sprouted from her back. She flew back upwards, the sound of the wings hitting the air alerted the guards. The guards around the area all turned their attention towards the cloaked person with bat wings. "It's a hybrid! Shoot It down!" Shouted a guard from below, Emma took that as her cue to get away from there. Her wings flapped against the air, she zoomed forwards, trying to dodge the guards' arrows coming towards her at a fast pace. She cried out In pain as one pierced through her leg, she pushed herself to go faster, to get out of their shooting range. It didn't take long for her to get out of their, before she realized It, she was near the lake. Exhaustion nagged at her, begging her to stop, she lowered herself to the ground, her wings disappearing Into thin air. Emma sat there, hidden by the tall grass of the plains.
A girl ran about a small village, they wore a black crop top, unbuttoned red flannel, black jean shorts, a black lace choker and black combat boots. They stopped running, looking behind them, they also had a whole lot of piercings. "Ari! Come on!" They called behind them, crossing their arms as If an Impatient child. They had black hair with bits of It dyed a striking blue. Pitch black ears perked up from their hair, a fluffy, black tail waving behind them.
A large, blackish brown furred wolf trotted up towards the girl. It wore a black string with a ring on It around It's neck. Striking yellow eyes glanced at them, It's tongue hanging out of It's mouth. "Alright, alright, where do you want to go?" Spoke the wolf In a kind, yet slightly rough voice. "To the forest!" They yelled, giggling as they looked to the wolf, who was deemed Ari. Ari chuckled. "Alright, but you must shift, you know how people feel of hybrids." Ari calmly spoke to the younger one, they sighed but shifted anyways. There, In front of Ari stood a smaller, pitch black wolf with striking blue eyes and a piercing In It's ear. The smaller wolf only came up to half the height of Ari. Ari flicked his ear, nudging the smaller wolf and padding off towards the forest. "Scarlett, come on!" He called behind him, using their words from before. They, or Scarlett, let out a playful bark and ran up to Ari. Ari returned the playful bark, his tail wagging. "Wanna race?" He challenged them. Scarlett looked up, crouching down slightly. "Heck yeah!" They cheered, Ari laughed, getting Into position himself. Ari let Scarlett get a head start before he bolted after them, the sound of paws In rhythm hitting the earth below them.
Emma got up, walking around the lake until she came across a stone pathway In one of the rivers. She backed up then ran forwards, jumping onto the first rock. She caught her balance before jumping to the next one, and the next, until she finally landed on the earth on the other side. She noticed the forest and began walking towards It, as she entered the forest, everything seemed peaceful. She began walking down a beaten path of bent and crushed grass. The birds chirping brought her peace, she began to hum a tone as she followed the path even more. She halted her humming, the noise of two sets of large paws running nearby caught her attention. She decided to check It out. Heading towards the direction where she heard them stop, she soon came across a large blackish brown wolf and a pitch black one. Both had their backs turned to her, they were focused on something below the oak tree they were In front of. Their ears twitched as Emma stepped Into the clearing, the large wolf spun around, growling In warning. Emma slowly put her hands In the air, their eye color was not that of a normal wolf's, the large one also seemed too tall for a normal wolf. Emma slowly let her wings show, her hands went up to her hood and pulled It down, revealing her face. The large wolf stopped growling, flicking It's tail. "A dragon hybrid? Aren't those rare?" Spoke the smaller wolf, glancing between the large one and Emma. "Very much so, Scarlett." Spoke the large wolf. Emma let her wings disappear as she slowly walked closer to them. "May I ask, what do you guys have behind you?" She questioned, seeing the faint glow of blue. The large wolf stepped In front of the smaller one, unsure of Emma's actions. "Before we speak of that, say your name, hybrid." It growled with a tone that you could not argue with. "My name Is Emma, what about you two?" She replied softly, trying not to seem of a threat to them. "Ari," Spoke the large wolf, who Emma now realized was a male. "Scarlett," Spoke the smaller one, Ari stepped back and beside Scarlett, his ears twitching. "Now, what's behind you?" Emma asked, Ari and Scarlett exchanged glances before stepping aside. There, In between the large, brown roots of the oak tree they stood under, hidden slightly by the grass was a glowing, blue gem. Emma felt drawn to It, she approached slightly before stopped, her hazel eyes locked onto It. She could pick It up, or she could leave It alone, or talk to the wolves more....
