the actual filler episode
All Might walked into Recovery Girl's office, quickly adjusting his expression from one of guilt when he laid eyes on his resting son. The hero took a seat in the chair next to the bed, gaze never leaving Izuku's face. Tentatively reaching out to the boy, he gently brushed some of his hair back from his forehead with a small sigh. "I'm sorry, Izuku. I'm so sorry. I've failed you. Everything I have done to try and protect you has put you in more danger. I am so, so sorry."
The hero jumped a little in his chair when his son scoffed, peaking at him from under his eyelashes. "Finally got the courage to apologize yet you couldn't wait until I am fully conscious, huh? Figures."
The blond couldn't help the chuckle that bubbled up inside him, relieved to see his son was okay. He pointedly didn't comment on how Izuku leaned into the hand in his hair, deciding to act as if this wasn't a huge step in their relationship. "How're you feeling?" Izuku groaned, closing his eyes. All Might chuckled again. "That good, huh?"
"Absolutely. I love being stabbed, it is my favorite pastime right after making your life miserable." Izuku grumbled, opening his eyes to smirk at his dad. "Sorry, old habits die hard." He adjusted his position on the bed to get more comfortable now that he was fully awake. "I'm okay, though. Been through worse."
All Might reflexively cringed, thoughts going to his son's time as a captive. "Izuku - "
"No, no. I didn't mean to say that outloud, and I didn't mean to say it to make you feel guilty." Izuku tugged at his fingers, moving his head so his father's hand fell out of his hair. The teen sighed, avoiding looking All Might in the eyes. "Look, I think...I think it is time we talked. About everything."
Nodding tentatively, All Might pulled his hand back into his lap. "Alright..."
Izuku was silent for a couple of moments, steadying his breathing before making eye contact with his father. "I want you to join me for family therapy sessions. I'm starting to trust you again and I don't want to fuck it up so I think it would be best if we hash everything out with a professional present. To, you know, minimize damage my fucked up brain may cause." Gulping, the teen looked away from his dad, hands clenched into fists. "Does that...does that seem like something you would want to do?"
All Might let out a tiny sigh, watching as Izuku flinched at the noise. "Izuku...there is nothing I want more in this world than to make things right with you. Of course I will attend therapy with you." All Might placed a hand on his son's shoulder, the teen turning to look at him. "I truly am sorry for all the pain and suffering I have caused you, I am ready to fix this and mend our relationship, as long as you allow me to."
Not bothering to wipe the tears welling up in his eyes, Izuku flung himself into All Might's arms, pulling him into a tight hug. "I'm sorry too, I know I haven't made things easy for you." All Might shook his head, holding Izuku tighter while being mindful of his injury. "I've been a dick, I know. But I really do want to improve our relationship. It won't be like it was before I got kidnapped, especially since mom is dead - " All Might was glad Izuku's face was hidden in his neck so he couldn't see the guilt of his expression, " - but it can definitely get better than where it is now, yeah? The only way is up from here."
The hero nodded, patting Izuku's head as the teen pulled out of the hug. "Let me know when you want to start therapy." Izuku smiled, laying back down in the bed. "I'll let you rest now."
"Wait!" Izuku snatched All Might's wrist briefly before retracting his hand, eyes squeezing shut for a second. "Can you...can you stay with me? Please, dad?"
And who was All Might to deny such a simple request from his only son?
With a heart heavy with guilt, All Might sat down next to his son, holding the teen's hands in his deceitful grasp while the boy fell back asleep, none the wiser to his father's betrayal of the fragile trust he had extended to him.

"Oh, look at this asshole walking into class as if he wasn't just on death's door."
"Tomura, you are such a hypocrite. Yelling at me for constantly being overdramatic and yet here you are doing the most." Izuku sighed, gesturing for his brother to move his legs.
Shigaraki rolled his eyes, making room for Izuku to sit at their desks. "I'm not being dramatic, you insufferable broccoli. You spent the night with Recovery Girl."
"Okay, first; watch the wording on that. And second; I was fine, I was only lightly stabbed." Izuku snickered, accepting the kiss on his cheek from Kaminari.
The hero course students and the rehab students were waiting in the classroom for Aizawa to show up and start the day with them. As the hero was taking a bit longer than usual they used that time to hang out and chat with one another, naturally gravitating to the grouping of rehab students as they had all heard what went down on their little off campus field trip.
Ashido was asking the green eyed villain to retell the story, something Izuku happily did. With embellishments, of course. His brother was always quick to correct him, slapping him on the head when Izuku tried to claim he almost died fighting an army of Nomus and All For One at the same time. This, naturally, led to a squabble between the two brothers.
Todoroki leaned over to stage whisper to Dabi about how odd it was that somehow the offspring of Endeavor had a healthier relationship with each other than these two. Shigaraki scowled at the brothers, dodging Izuku's pencil case. "It is completely normal and healthy to fight with your siblings. The fact that you two don't fight is unnatural and weird."
"It would explain why Todoroki didn't recognize Dabi until he spilt the beans himself though. If they had beaten each other to pulps as kids then he definitely would've recognized Dabi's disfigured face. So, really, you two not murdering each other led to some really unnecessary and prolonged angst between you." Shigaraki nodded in agreement with his brother's words, their fight momentarily paused so they could lecture their friends on how to be real siblings.
Toga giggled into her fist, answering her girlfriend's inquisitive stare. "Oh, I just find it funny how these two especially claim how therapy is a scam yet they are every therapist and psychologist's wet dream. All that trauma and twisted thinking to untangle? Gold mine. Especially since family therapy isn't an option."
"Hey! Not true! I actually invited dad to join me for therapy sessions from now on!" Izuku paused, tilting his head to stare at Shigaraki. "Do you think you would be able to join family therapy sessions with us seeing as we are brothers?"
"Probably, but I won't. I need a break from you and that is exactly what therapy is for me. I spend the entire session unpacking all the bullshit you put me through on the daily." Shigaraki smacked Izuku again when his little brother commented about how he always knew Shigaraki was obsessed with him. "Adding that to the list for next session."
Before anyone could say anything else the door to the classroom opened up and Aizawa finally graced the class with his presence. The students immediately dispersed to their assigned seats, acting as if they had been there the entire time despite knowing Aizawa knew they were not.
Aizawa chose not to acknowledge their very obvious guilty expressions, instead starting his class like he normally does. "As you all know by now, the off campus expedition I chaperoned for a select few students yesterday got derailed by a villain attack. The villain managed to escape after inflicting harm onto both All Might and Rabid. They are okay now. However, due to the attack on students and faculty UA has decided to add tighter security and precautions to our upcoming trip. Nothing much will have changed on your end, I just felt it would be best to be transparent with you all. Everything will still go according to schedule, just with added backups."
"Does UA know who the villain was that attacked yesterday?"
"Not at this time, Iida, no. This was not the first time this villain has targeted this specific group of students and teachers, however. Therefore, they will be the primary recipients of the added security."
Izuku whined, dropping his head onto his desk. "I get stabbed one time and now I can't be left alone to frolic in the forest with my friends? This is a hate crime."
"There are so many things wrong with that statement that I'm not even going to indulge you." Dabi snorted. "I will, however, go frolicking with you once we ditch our body guards at camp."
"I knew I loved you for a reason."
Aizawa sighed, deciding it was not worth the effort to engage with those students at the moment. "Having relayed this information to you, let's start our day. Camp will be in a few days time and we will begin preparations for it tomorrow. In the meantime, we have learning to do."
Class 1-A stamped down their excitement over the training camp and tried their best to pay attention to their lessons that day, all silently agreeing to plan their extracurricular camp activities back at the dorms at the end of the day.
Before the class dispersed for lunch Aizawa called the rehab students to his desk, informing them that their regularly scheduled therapy sessions will still be taking place at camp as well, much to Toga, Bakugo, and Dabi's annoyance.
"I don't even need therapy!" Bakugo grunted, glaring at Izuku. "This is all your fault."
Izuku winked at the blond. "If I'm going down I'm taking you down with me, babe."
Bakugo shuddered. "Never call me that again."
"I for one am glad. I can even have peace during a school trip." Shigaraki smacked Izuku's punch away. "You can't win all the time."
"Watch me. I win everything I put my mind to." Izuku stuck his tongue out at his brother, following him and their friends out of the classroom. "And I do mean everything. "
