new housemates
The hero course students of Class 1-A stood on the field in silence, watching the retreating backs of the trio of villains.
Aizawa broke the silence when he instructed Uraraka Ochako to take All Might to Recovery Girl with the help of Sero. The brunette girl used her quirk to float the blond hero, Sero wrapping him in tape before the trio made their way to Recovery Girl's office.
The homeroom teacher then addressed the rest of the class. "Alright, let's head back inside. We still have classes to get through."
"But sir, what about the vi - "
Aizawa cut off Asui Tsuyu with a stern look. "They won't be able to leave the premises due to the bracelets they are all wearing. I understand this will be a tough adjustment for everyone so show the school and faculty why you were chosen for the hero course and be on your best behavior. Do not provoke the new students."
Bakugou scoffed. "Just call them what they are. Piece of shit villains."
"Reforming villains, Bakugou. This is a second chance for them and we all need to be helping, not hindering, their progress. Understand?" Aizawa didn't wait for a response as he started to walk towards the school. "Let's go. Like I said, you still have classes to attend."
The teenagers followed their homeroom teacher into the building and to their classroom, ready for the day to drag by as they pondered what condition their dorm would be in when they returned to it.
When the day finally ended all the students in Class 1-A were out the door of their classroom and racing to their dorms, Bakugou leading the charge.
"Hey, Bakubro, why the rush?" Kirishima hurried to keep pace with the explosive blond.
"Yeah, are you that anxious to see our building in flames?" Kaminari questioned, arms crossed behind his head as he yawned.
"It won't be in flames, dunce face." Bakugou snapped. "I need to have a word with that green haired bastard."
Kaminari and Kirishima looked to one another and then to Bakugou before shrugging, watching their blond friend walk ahead of them to the dorms, the rest of their class straggling behind.
The door to the dorms burst open and immediately everyone's ears were bombarded with the sounds of K-pop and yelling.
"Why the fuck is there no good goddamn food here?! Are they trying to starve us to death?!" Dabi's voice yelled from the kitchen. "Haven't we been through enough hardships?"
"Dabi, I swear to Mamagiri - "
"Himiko, don't use his name in vain." Izuku called from the couch where he was sprawled out, a pillow covering his face.
"Fine. I swear to Twice - "
"Not him either. He is best boi."
"Fuck! If you don't turn this trash off, I will add to your extensive collection of scars."
Izuku snorted, sitting up and looking at Dabi as he emerged from the kitchen with a box of cereal, the two of them speaking in sync. "Wanna know how I got these scars?"
The trio of friends had their attention grabbed when their music shut off, turning to the speaker system to see Yaoyorozu Momo standing there with a sheepish expression.
"Excuse you?" Dabi narrowed his eyes at the tall girl, stuffing a handful of dry cereal in his mouth.
"Sorry, it's just...Jiro has sensitive ears."
Izuku stood up from the couch, clapping his hands in a giddy fashion. "Oh, goody! The children have returned!" He looked back at his friends for a moment before returning his attention to the heroes in training. "How was school? Learn anything interesting? Make any new friends?"
Dabi and Toga snorted, taking seats on the couch behind Izuku while sharing handfuls of the dry cereal.
Tokoyami Fumikage sighed, glancing at the duo on the couch. "Can you at least pour some in a napkin?" They flipped him off in response. "Fair enough."
Bakugou glared at the green haired teen that was still grinning at the group of first years. "Deku."
Izuku turned to Toga, holding both his wrists out. "Himiko, it's happening." He looked back at the blond, a serene look taking over his features. "I wasn't sure if you'd remember me after all this time, Kacchan."
"It's only been, what, five years?" Bakugou grunted, stepping towards the smaller teen.
Toga pulled a few of the pins out of her hair, turning a couple of them. When they were twisted they transformed into different forms of screw drivers and lock picking tools. She made quick work of taking off the bracelets on Izuku's wrists while he conversed with Bakugou.
"Well, as you can see, a lot can happen in five years, Kacchan." Izuku hummed, rubbing his wrists where the bracelets were. "And it's not like we were on the best of terms when I...left."
Bakugou watched the girl take the bracelets off the green haired teen, rolling his eyes at the sight of them. "I don't know why you were even wearing those, Deku. You're quirkless, after all." A cruel smirk crept its way onto his face. "You said so yourself. That's the reason your father left you and Auntie."
"Ooh, he's in for it now." Toga whispered to Dabi, snagging a handful of cereal while the flame user nodded in response, also stuffing his face of crunchy goodness.
"Bakubro, I think that's taking things a little far." Kirishima tried to put a hand on the blond's shoulder, only to have it slapped away.
"No, no. Let him say his piece." Izuku spoke calmly, sauntering up to Katsuki. The shorter boy grabbed the blond's wrist, lifting his hand so it was right in front of Izuku's face. "After all, you've said and done worse when we were younger, right, Kacchan?"
Bakugou looked shaken for a second before he fixed his expression. "What? Think you're tough now that you're some so-called villain? Please. I can still kick your ass."
Izuku had a ghost of a smile on his face. "Prove it, then." He pulled Bakugou's hand closer to his face until it was practically touching his cheek. "Use your quirk, right now. I won't stop you or move." Letting out a chuckle, Izuku eyed the taller teen with his toxic green eyes. "How could I? I'm quirkless, right?"
"Bakugou, don't d - " Iida tried to stop his classmate but was too slow.
The blond let out a small explosion, right into the face of his childhood frenemy.
"Bakugou!" All of Class 1-A shouted, horrified.
...until they heard a chuckle coming from the green haired villain.
As the smoke cleared they saw the grin on the teen's face, his hand still wrapped around Bakugou's wrist, and the fresh burn mark on his right cheek. His eyes were still trained on Bakugou's now wide and slightly shocked red ones.
Izuku let out a little snicker, letting go of Bakugou's wrist. "My turn."
Then he disappeared from sight.
"Wha - where did he go?!" Hagakure Toru squealed.
Bakugou grunted, sprawling on the floor with Izuku kneeling on his back, pinning his hands down in such a way that if the blond were to use his quirk he would be setting off explosions against himself.
"There he is." Dabi oh so helpfully supplied an answer, munching on the cereal in his mouth while pointing at his green haired friend.
Izuku leaned down, speaking close to Bakugou's ear while he brought one of his hands up to the blond's right cheek, small explosions coming out of his palm. "Hm, these explosions look familiar don't they, Kacchan? But they are coming from me...how can that be? I'm quirkless, aren't I?" He let out a low chuckle. "Look at the little powerless Deku, using the big bad Kacchan's quirk like it's nothing. Oh! I have a great idea!" His eyes widened and a face splitting, lopsided grin appeared on his freckled face. He held his hand closer to Bakugou's right cheek. "I should give you a mark too! Ha! Wouldn't that be so cool? It could be a symbol of our everlasting friendship. Both our faces scarred by your quirk. How amazing. Very fitting and poetic, right, Kacchan?"
The blond's red eyes widened and he went to say something but he was cut off by an explosion going off in his face. His class screamed for the second time in a matter of minutes.
The green haired teen got off his childhood frenemy's back, wiping off his hands. He smirked down at the still Bakugou, snickering as he pointed to his right cheek. "Now we match! Better than a friendship bracelet, right?"
Not waiting for a response the young villain squeezed between his two friends on the couch - much to their annoyance - and grabbed a handful of the cereal they were slowly depleting in stock. Toga looked at his wrist and sighed. "Rabid, I've gotta put the cuffs back on before the fun police come back."
"Boo, you whore." Izuku pouted but held his wrists out nonetheless.
"Takes one to know one." Dabi high fived Toga before she got to work on putting the bracelets back on the freckled member of their trio.
The hero course students gaped at the three before looking at Bakugou as he pulled himself off the ground, switching their gazes between the four.
"Alright, I guess I'll be the one to say it." Shoji Mezo hesitated, glancing at his classmates. "What...what was that?"
Izuku looked up from where he was watching Toga work her magic on the bracelets, a shit eating grin plastered on his face. "Oh, that? Just some catching up between old friends. You know how it goes."
Bakugou took a step towards the three friends on the couch just as the door to the dorms opened up and in stepped Aizawa, a detective, and a bandaged All Might.
"Didn't they get the message the first time around?" Toga stage whispered to Dabi, not so subtly gesturing between a now stone-faced Izuku and All Might.
"Clearly not, Himiko. Clearly not." Dabi sighed, stuffing the last handful of cereal in his mouth. "Well, since he's here, let's sit back and enjoy the show."
"You two dipshits know I can hear you, right?"
"Absolutely."
"Duh. It's no fun when you can't."
"I hate you."
Aizawa looked between Bakugou and Izuku's burned faces, the mix between shock and horrified faces of his hero course students, the mildly amused faces on two of the reforming villains, the ransacked kitchen, and the stereo in the corner, trying to decide which to address first.
Luckily - or unluckily, depending on how to look at it - Dabi helped him out.
"Yo, Eraser, you supply your students with shit food. Just an FYI."
It was going to be a long afternoon.
