kacchan's true colors

"You must be out of your goddamn mind if you think - "

"Oh, my gosh! Kacchan! We are going to be roomies!" Izuku squealed, doing a little dance of excitement. "We can do each other's nails and discuss in depth the sheer idiocy of you working with a murderous psychopath!"

"Rabid, you two are not roommates. Bakugou's new room is next door to yours. You are not sharing."

Bakugou turned to Aizawa, his face devoid of feeling. "I'll take prison time over being in the same hallway as that murderous psychopath."

"Aw, but Kacchan! Think of how much fun we can have hanging out after curfew!" Izuku beamed at the blond, the three other rehab students covering up their laughter with coughs.

The traitorous blond rolled his eyes at the villain, muttering something under his breath that had Aizawa staring at him curiously. The teacher couldn't be sure exactly what his student said but he was a bit shocked to see the complete one eighty in his attitude towards his diaper buddy since the day prior, going from raging at him in an interrogation room to tolerating being within a few feet of him and even bantering slightly.

Aizawa had some theories but he couldn't be completely certain if any were correct, however, Bakugou's interview with Tsukauchi added some weight to a few.

When the detective finished up with his student and came to discuss his findings with Aizawa and Nedzu, Tsukauchi informed them that he couldn't get an exact read on Bakugou. Nedzu asked for further explanation and Tsukauchi told the two that he had his quirk active the whole time he was talking with Bakugou and for most of his responses, the blond was both telling the truth and lying.

The man had never seen that before.

So, naturally, Aizawa was curious as to what was happening, his theories ranging from the Bakugou standing in front of him being a double or an impostor to something more...headache inducing is how Aizawa would put it.

Why things had to be so complicated and convoluted, the hero wished he knew.

Izuku sauntered up to Bakugou and tossed an arm over the blond's shoulder, one that was immediately shrugged off. Bakugou's clear annoyance at the shorter teen did not deter the student, if anything it spurred him on more. "I'll give you a tour of this section of the dorms and a run down of the rules us reforming villains must follow. It'll be a grand ol time."

"Rabid, are you trying to get killed?"

"Yes. That is my end goal." Izuku winked at Dabi over his shoulder. "Why else would I 'corrupt' Kacchan by killing my mother, setting him on a path of villainy and betrayal if not to be absolutely and brutally murdered?"

"Shit, Rabid, if that was your plan all along we could've skipped a lot of these steps if you had just asked me to do it for you."

"I've tried. You never kill me."

"That's because you don't ask the right way!" Toga chimed in, grinning at her friends.

"Oh, right. He says please and thank you and begs but he doesn't say the magic words." Shigaraki nodded.

"What? Endeavor's the coolest?"

Dabi closed his eyes and pinched the bridge of his nose, a long suffering sigh left his body. "Eraser, I would also like to be transferred to prison."

"Oh! You and explody can share a cell!" Toga cheered. "Me and Tomura and Rabid will visit you two! We'll bring you the file in a cake."

"I'll shank you in the prison yard if you shank me."

"Deal."

"Nobody is going to prison." Aizawa opened the door to the dorm where Bakugou would be staying for the foreseeable future.

"He didn't say nothing about not shanking each other." Bakugou whispered loudly to Dabi.

"Our deal still stands then."

Aizawa decided he needed three years of vacation to counteract the tension headache he was getting from having to deal with these five.

He would file the papers with Nedzu later.

"This is your room now, Bakugou. All of your belongings have been transferred here already. You will be abiding by the same rules as the rest of the rehab students. Your first group therapy session with them is tomorrow after classes end. They can show you where the office is and from there you can set up your own individual therapy schedule with the counselor."

And with that Aizawa left his students to get ready for the day.

Once the adult was gone the five teenagers exchanged looks amongst themselves before heading into their respective rooms, emerging a few moments later ready for their newest member's first day in the rehab program.

They silently walked to school together, pausing before opening the door to their classroom. Toga turned to her fellow program members, her eyebrows scrunched together. "I wonder if your seat will be moved so that we are all next to each other."

"That would be awesome!"

"That would literally be the worst moment of my entire life."

Shigaraki ignored the other four, opening the door to the room and plopping down in his seat, resting his head in his arms on his desk with a glare at the rest of the students. "Don't even think about waking me up."

"Shigaraki, did you not sleep last night?" Uraraka asked, already waiting for her girlfriend at Toga's desk.

"I did. I'm just trying to stock up on sleep before Bakubitch joins our wing and I never get another moment's peace in my life."

"Kacchan's room is next to mine!" Izuku squealed, skipping into the class while dragging Toga and Dabi with him, Bakugou begrudgingly following them inside. "We already made plans to give each other makeovers later, right Kacchan?"

"Choke on shit, nerd."

"Rabid, why are you excited about having Bakugou in the room next door? After all, he was working with your former boss to literally get you killed." Hagakure questioned, several classmates nodding in agreement.

"It wouldn't be the first time a friend has tried to kill me, plotted my death, or hired a hitman on me. And it most likely won't be the last." Izuku shrugged. "Besides, Kacchan and I go way back! If I can forgive him for bullying me mercilessly during a fragile time in my life, certainly I can find it in my heart to overlook him attempting to orchestrate my downfall because I sent his mother into a catatonic state when I killed my own mother." The short teen beamed at the blond. "After all, what are friends for if not to gloss over the other's murderous fantasies?"

The class was silent for a moment before Todoroki cut through it with a quiet mumble. "I know what the topic is going to be for tomorrow's therapy session."

Bakugou looked over at Todoroki, a cruel smirk forming on his once passive face. "Will you be joining us for therapy, half n half?"

Dabi tensed in his chair, glaring at the blond as Asui ribbited a question. "Why would Todoroki be joining you?"

A gasp came from Ashido and she nearly snapped her neck when she went to stare wide eyed at Todoroki. "Are you also a traitor?"

"He wishes." Bakugou scoffed, eyes glued to the dual quirk user. "I only ask because I heard that one of the options for our therapy is fa - "

The blond was cut off by a cloth wrapping its way around his mouth, a red eyed Aizawa standing in the doorway. "Enough, Bakugou. Take a seat with the rest of the rehab students."

"It's like UA is trying to push Bakugou to actually commit a murder." Sero muttered to Kirishima, the duo watching the scowl form on their former friend's face as he sat next to Toga, Izuku leaning over her to ruffle Bakugou's hair.

Uraraka and Kaminari scurried back to their seats when Aizawa took his place at the front of the class and officially started their academic day.

The morning dragged by in the tense classroom, some students not so subtly sending wary glances towards the newest rehab student. He pointedly ignored them and the green haired villain a seat away from him who repeatedly passed him notes and attempted to get his attention throughout their lessons.

Lunch time rolled around and Class 1-A followed the flow of the student body down to the cafeteria to get their food, following in Bakugou's footsteps and blatantly ignoring the stares and whispers of the other classes as they gossiped about how Class A had a traitor in their ranks.

Most of 1-A sat at or around the same table, the rehab students towards the middle of the group along with Kaminari, Todoroki, and Uraraka. They chatted mindlessly about the morning lessons, the conversation taking an abrupt turn when Todoroki caught Bakugou staring at him and Dabi.

"What?" Todoroki narrowed his eyes at the blond, suspicion flowing through him.

Bakugou shrugged, taking a sip of his water. "I just find it funny that nobody else in the class has noticed."

"Noticed what?" Kaminari hummed, stealing a bite of Izuku's lunch.

"The resemblance between Dabi and IcyHot. I mean, it's like they're not even trying to hide the fact that they are brothers."

A hush fell over the group of classmates as they all stared wide eyed at Bakugou and the two brothers.

"You're a dick." Todoroki hissed.

"Oh, I'm sorry, did I accidentally out the two of you? I thought it was obvious."

"Kacchan, you are leaning a little too far into your role." Izuku hummed, a flicker of something flashing through his green eyes.

"Sorry, nerd, but the cat is out of the bag now. Why bother pretending that I am anything but a bastard who partners up with a known villain?" Bakugou smirked at his childhood frenemy.

Ojiro snapped his fingers. "That explains why Endeavor was yelling 'Touya' during the final round of the festival!"

"Now that I think about it, your quirks are kind of similar." Jiro twirled her earlobe, looking between the brothers a few seats down.

"So Endeavor is the prominent public figure who you are a child of." Iida hummed, chopping at the air with his over expressive arms.

"Thanks for spelling it out for everyone. I wasn't sure if they fully grasped what this shithead was talking about." Dabi drawled, rolling his eyes as he did so.

"It makes sense now, why Todoroki began to hang out with you and your friends after the Sports Festival. That was when he found out you are his long lost brother, right?" Yaoyorozu questioned from the other side of Jiro.

"It wasn't that difficult to put the pieces together." Todoroki shrugged, slurping up some noodles before continuing. "Especially after he indirectly admitted to it like five minutes before coming clean when he thought I was Rabid."

"Shut up, Shoto. Don't act as if you knew who I was before I told you." Dabi whacked his younger brother on the back of the head with a huff.

"Sorry, Dabi, but it was pretty obvious. You kind of did a shit job hiding your identity. I mean, I'm not surprised nobody outside of the program knew who you were, but they didn't grow up with you." Izuku snickered, changing his attitude once he saw that his friends were fine with having their relations known. "There aren't that many 'prominent public figures' who have children who died at thirteen, let alone a child with a fire quirk."

"Fuck off, Rabid. At least I didn't have a dramatic identity reveal within our first hour of being here while also trauma dumping on the father I beat to shit."

"Guess I'm built different."

"Built like a histrionic moron." Bakugou snorted.

"I would be mad but you're not wrong." Izuku pursed his lips, a slight narrowing to his eyes. "I am attention seeking and a grade A moron but I do have some genius fool proof plans, sometimes."

"How can a plan be fool proof if it was created by a fool?" Shigaraki accepted the kick he received from his younger brother. "It was a genuine question, you violent cabbage."

Izuku went to reply when the bell rang to signal the end of lunch, the class cleaning up before heading back to their classroom to complete their day.

Nothing noteworthy happened during the afternoon lessons yet the dynamic of the class changed slightly since lunch. The other students seemed to quickly accept Bakugou as the new rehab student, only slightly wary of him. Aizawa credited their quick adaptability to the amount of bullshit they had been through in the first couple months of school.

He would be surprised if anything truly phased them at this point.

The hero also noticed how open Todoroki and Dabi were with their communicating and bickering now, coming to the conclusion that the class had somehow found out about their brotherhood and the two of them felt no need to deny or hide it anymore.

Class 1-A began to gather their belongings after the end of the day bell rang, shuffling out of the classroom with discussions over what to eat for dinner. Only a handful of students were left in the room when Aizawa summoned Izuku to speak with.

"What did I do this time?" Izuku huffed, staring up at the man before him.

"You revealed and apprehended the UA traitor."

Izuku blinked. "That is a thing I did, yes. But why are we talking about it now?"

Aizawa sighed. "Nedzu and the rest of the faculty believe you deserve a reward for your actions. You get to, within reason, pick your reward."

"Date time?" Kaminari slid up next to Izuku, a devious grin on his face. "We can go on a proper one now."

"Oh, oh, oh! Rabid! Take us with you! We can have a double date!" Toga waved her free hand wildly at her friend, the other one clutching Uraraka's.

Izuku hummed, glancing at his friends. "Can my reward be an off campus outing? Chaperoned, of course."

Aizawa shrugged. "I don't see why not. Who would you like to bring with you on this outing?"

"Denki, Himiko, Dabi, Tomura, Uraraka, Todoroki, and Kirishima."

"I can see Todoroki since Dabi is his brother, but why Kiri?" Kaminari furrowed his brows at his boyfriend.

"He deserves some fun and cheering up since finding out his boyfriend was actually working with the worst villain of all time."

"Yeah, he really does. Poor shark boi." Toga pouted.

"I'll relay this to Nedzu and come gather you all at the dorms later when he approves." Aizawa dismissed his students, the group scurrying out of the class to head back to the dorm.

"Rabid, that was really sweet of you to invite Kirishima along with us." Uraraka smiled at the green haired teen walking on the other side of Toga.

"My captors and All For One may have taken my sanity, but they didn't take my heart. It is still, unfortunately, beating in my chest." Izuku cackled when Shigaraki slapped him on his head, muttering about how unfortunate he was to have Izuku as a brother. "You love me, Shiggy."

"You have no proof."

"How about the past couple of years of uncensored friendship and brotherhood we have engaged in? Or maybe the fact that we have seen each other at some of the lowest points in our lives and yet are still rooting for one another? I mean, we tell each other everything! How is brutal honesty not a sign of love, hm?"

Shigaraki pointedly ignored Toga and Dabi's expressions as he rolled his eyes. "Fine. I guess I...care a little about you."

"I'll take what I can get." Izuku beamed. "Now come on! We need to pick out our outfits for our little field trip."

Izuku tugged his boyfriend towards the dorms with the rest of the group following behind, excitement flowing through all of them and drowning out the unfounded sense of dread filling the pits of their stomachs.

This was their first time off campus in a non rehab related capacity and they were determined to not let anything ruin it for them.

Unfortunately the rest of the world didn't feel as determined as they did.
