hosu

It was a couple days after the Sports Festival and Class 1-A was in their classroom, waiting for Aizawa to appear and explain the curriculum for the day. The four rehab students were sitting at their front row desks just like every other morning except this time Kaminari and Uraraka were joined by Todoroki, much to the rest of the class's confusion.

Uraraka - who was sitting on Toga's lap - leaned into her girlfriend's ear, whispering quietly to her. "Not that I'm complaining...but why is Todoroki here?"

Toga shrugged. "Maybe he is warming up to us?"

The brunette smiled at that, kissing Toga's cheek. "I'm glad our class is giving you four a chance finally. You deserve it."

The blonde smiled back, wrapping her arms tighter around Uraraka. "You're too sweet."

"Bleh. You two are disgusting." Dabi fake vomited.

Izuku snickered. "Says the guy that made out with his not-boyfriend on live television to win a fight."

Dabi rolled his eyes while his brother nodded. "He's got you there."

"Fuck you."

"I think that's Shigaraki's job." Todoroki smirked, laughing at the glares he was getting from his brother and Shigaraki.

"Everyone, sit down." Aizawa shocked the class when he appeared, Kaminari and Todoroki reluctantly going to their seats. The teacher eyed Uraraka as Toga held on to her, keeping her from moving. "In your own seats, Uraraka."

"Sorry, Mr. Aizawa." Uraraka blushed, scurrying to her seat despite Toga's whines. She gave her girlfriend an apologetic smile, the blonde blowing her a kiss in return.

Aizawa watched the exchange with a bored expression, waiting to have the attention of his class. "It's that time of year...time for internships." The class cheered while the rehab students stared down at their desks. "Being passed out are the offers from agencies that were given to you after your performances at the Festival. Pick your top three choices before lunch and hand them in to me. That is all."

Toga raised her hand, barely concealed disappointment on her face. "Eraser? What about us? We definitely didn't get any offers, so what will we be doing during the internships?"

The homeroom teacher looked over his four rehab students. "Nedzu, myself, and some of the faculty have come to a decision of what is best for the four of you to do during the internships of the rest of the class."

There was a beat of silence while the class began to look over the offers they were given and the rehab students waited for Aizawa to continue.

When he didn't, Shigaraki cleared his throat. "Are you going to tell us or are we going to have to guess?"

"Oh! Oh! Oh! I am good at guessing!" Izuku raised his hand and waved it wildly. "Are you having us open up a high end strip club? One that only allows in super rich people so that our dancers get paid bank every shift? Even the crappy Tuesday morning shifts?"

Dabi leaned back in his seat, eyes closed. "Rabid and Himiko could train the dancers."

"We really could." Izuku and Toga answered at the same time.

Aizawa wasn't even going to address that topic, instead opting to ignore it and continue on like it never was even mentioned. "We have decided - with input from your therapist - that you four are going to take part in the internships."

The four rehab students stared blankly at Aizawa.

"Say what now?"

The teacher continued explaining the assignment. "It is true none of you got any offers due to being rehab students, however, the faculty and your therapist felt it would be beneficial to you all for you to participate in the internships. You have been cooped in the school for awhile now and stretching your legs might do you some good." Shigaraki cleared his throat again, gesturing to the quirk cuffs on their wrists. "Of course the quirk cuffs will stay on unless it is a life or death emergency. That is the only way the chief of police would allow this."

Nodding in understanding, Toga fiddled with her fingers. "Who are we interning with?"

Aizawa's eyes flickered to Izuku for a split second. "Three faculty members were chosen for this. Myself, Midnight, and All Might."

"Two teachers that can either cancel our quirks or knock us out, effectively keeping us in line. And the third to over power us. All carefully chosen, I presume, for the off chance we make a run for it or try to escape our very cushy sentence here." Izuku muttered to his friends. "They still don't trust us. How much you want to bet this is their way to suss out whether one of us is the traitor or not by letting us out in the free world?"

"Oh, it sure is." Toga sighed, her heart clenching as she remembered her girlfriend's words from earlier. It would seem Uraraka was incorrect, they still weren't being given a chance.

What else do they have to do to prove they aren't who they used to be?

-

Apparently they had to have three pro heroes breathing down their neck for a week straight in order to prove they were changed.

It wasn't as bad as they originally thought it was going to be but it still sucked and they would honestly rather be at the dorms sleeping than stalking the streets of Hosu. And the four rehab students were very vocal about that, complaining every three seconds to their three babysitters.

Dabi groaned, crossing his arms behind his head. "I mean, not that we aren't grateful to get out of UA for a bit...but do we have to learn about heroics and shit while we get our reprieve from that dump?"

Midnight sighed, sliding her glasses up the bridge of her nose. "Dabi, this was conditional - "

"As part of our release from UA for the week and our participation in the internships, we know." Toga grunted, a pout on her lips. "Doesn't mean we have to like it."

Izuku threw an arm around Toga and Dabi's shoulders, grinning tightly at them. "Hey, just think of it this way...the sooner we get this over with, the sooner Himiko can go back to sucking face with Uraraka, you can go back to fucking Tomura in your room, and I can go back to pretending I don't hear everything you two do in that dorm."

Shigaraki scowled at his little brother while Dabi shrugged Izuku's arm off his shoulder, Toga snickering next to them. The three adults sighed, Eraserhead wishing time would move faster so he could go home and sleep.

Toga sighed. "I wonder how Ochako is doing with her internship."

"Probably having a lot more fun than us." Shigaraki mumbled.

Izuku looked at Dabi. "Todoroki is probably miserable."

Dabi kicked a rock, his face pinching in displeasure. "I don't know, maybe. He isn't thrilled about spending a week straight with Endeavor but he can learn a lot from him, what with Endeavor being the number two hero and all."

"Doesn't mean he is enjoying his time there and isn't miserable." Dabi just shrugged at Toga's response.

Shigaraki cleared his throat. "Hey, did you guys hear about what's been happening in Hosu?" His three friends shook their heads, curiosity in their eyes as they watched their oldest member talk. The three pro heroes also tuned into the conversation, having an inkling about where this was heading. "Apparently the Hero Killer Stain has been striking here recently, so we might actually get to see some real, live action heroics at work."

Toga smiled widely while Dabi's face showed some interest, the displeasure from earlier disappearing. "Stain you say? Huh, I like his ideas." The pros all gave Dabi a glance and he rolled his eyes in return. "What? You have to admit there are a lot of heroes in it just for the fame and glory and not for actually helping people. He's right, there are a lot of false heroes."

"Stain is murdering people to achieve his goals." Eraserhead bluntly pointed out.

"So is the Hero Public Safety Commission." Izuku mumbled, the pro heroes barely unable to decipher what he said. "But it's fine when they do it, right?"

"What?" Midnight stared at the green haired teen, trying to figure out what he was talking about.

"Look, all we're saying is we hope we get to see some ac - " Izuku was cut off by a grunt from All Might, the tall blond stumbling forward and grabbing at his back where a knife was embedded. "Da - "

Eraserhead shoved the four teens behind him and Midnight, All Might coming to stand next to them as they looked in the direction the blade had been thrown from. The underground hero grunted, eyes narrowing in concentration. "You gave away your position when you threw that blade."

"Did I, though?"

A gasp was heard behind the pros and they all whirled around to see a figure dressed like how a survivor of Stain described him to be dressed as. However, this person had wrapping all around their head rather than just over their eyes, completely obscuring their hair and features. They held a blade to Shigaraki's throat, pressing enough to present threat of death but not enough to draw blood.

The teen looked at the heroes with an unimpressed look. "I'm enjoying our side quest in Hosu so much more now. Really. Ten out of ten would recommend."

Eraserhead subtly nodded to Midnight, the R-Rated heroine signaling to the other three rehab students and All Might to hold their breath as Eraserhead distracted the person. "You're pretty bold. Attacking three pro heroes and four UA students, one of the heroes being the number one himself. Stain must've given you a lot of confidence."

A distorted chuckle came from the figure, the distortion clearly the result of a voice altering device. "How do you know I'm not Stain?"

"Stain would never attack All Might. He is the only one he sees as a true hero." Izuku rolled his eyes. "You know, for such a devoted follower of Stain, you really don't know shit, do you? I mean, you don't know which target to attack and you got his costume all wrong."

"Stain isn't who I follow, Rabid. He was just a convenient source of...misdirection." The figure pressed the knife a little closer to Shigaraki's neck.

Shigaraki stared at his brother. "Are you really debating Stain's ideology with the person holding your brother at knife point?" Izuku nodded cheerfully. "Ass."

"Now." Midnight mumbled quietly enough for just those in her group to hear, ripping her costume at the wrist and releasing her quirk.

Noticing the mist heading their way, the figure withdrew the knife and shoved Shigaraki away, dashing into a nearby alley.

Izuku immediately started to run after them, Toga and Dabi following in his footsteps. Shigaraki rolled his eyes. "Yes, let's run towards the person that just tried to slit my throat. What could possibly go wrong?"

"They knew who I was and they don't seem to be the type to watch the Sports Festival or keep up with UA news." Izuku grunted, hearing the pros following after them. "I have a suspicion on who they work for but I need confirmation."

"Also, why attack us out of nowhere if you aren't going to do any real damage?" Toga turned the corner after Izuku, the pros right behind her.

"Uh, All Might got stabbed."

"Yeah, but did he die?" Dabi shrugged at the look he got from Midnight. "Just saying."

The group of students and heroes cornered their attacker, the figure leaning against a wall as if waiting for them at the deadend of the alleyway maze. Izuku stepped forward, eyes narrowed at the person that stabbed his da - All Might. "If you don't follow Stain ideology, what's your beef with heroes? Also, how the hell did you know who I am? I don't have my mask and nobody has seen my face."

"Uh, are you forgetting all of UA and the fact that you were on television?" Dabi muttered.

"Shut up, they know what I mean."

"I do." The figure hummed, twirling a blade in their hand. "My 'beef' with heroes is one I believe you four can relate to...heroes took away my ability to have a normal life." Toga raised her hand. "They uphold the status quo of 'good' quirks and 'evil' quirks with their acts and attitudes, therefore being responsible for your shunning, Toga."

Toga nodded, lowering her hand. "No more questions from me. Carry on, Rabid."

"Thanks, Himiko." Izuku stared down their attacker, watching as they played with the blade. "How do you know us?"

Chuckling, the figure shook their head. "I thought you were supposed to be smart, Rabid. I know you know who I follow, so accept it." They sheathed the blade they were playing with, putting their hands on their hips. "Also, you four are kind of famous in the villain community for your age. Not to mention the splash you made with your entrance to UA and the Sports Festival?"

"Told you." Dabi snickered when Izuku kicked his shin.

A swirling purple portal opened behind the figure, connecting the final dot for the rest of the group besides Izuku. Giving the group a two fingered salute, the finger backed up into the portal with a few parting words. "You're making master proud, Rabid. All of you are."

And with that, the warp closed around them and left the four students with two pro heroes and a stabbed All Might. The two adults went to support All Might, leading the teens out of the alleyway and back to the darkened streets of Hosu.

Toga sighed. "Here we go again with the doubt and mistrust of us."

Midnight gave the girl a small reassuring smile. "Toga, you have earned our trust. All of you. We aren't going to believe some random Stain wannabe over the four of you." She adjusted All Might's arm on her shoulder. "Besides, you four already passed the Tsukauchi test and got his seal of approval. We believe you four are not working for the villains anymore."

Toga beamed, wanting to tell Uraraka the news right away that she was right, they did have the staff's trust.

The male rehab students ignored the hope they felt in their stomach at Midnight's words, knowing how quickly everything could change. That's just the way the world works.

Nothing lasts forever.

Especially peace and happiness.
