first day for villains
The next morning after Class 1-A found out they would be learning and living with three reforming villains was surprisingly uneventful.
The trio of fiends was nowhere to be seen during breakfast nor during pre-school routines. It was putting everyone slightly on edge. They were waiting for the three to jump out and attack them at a moment's notice.
The attack, however, never came and their morning continued to be peaceful, Class 1-A finishing their morning routines and embarking on their journey from the dorms to their classroom.
Some of the students were hoping the three reforming villains had been kicked out and sent to prison for Izuku's attack on All Might and Bakugou the day prior but the six that had stayed behind for the pseudo questioning knew better.
They were here to stay for the foreseeable future, like it or not.
At least until the heroes and the police got more information out of them.
The first year hero course students made it to their classroom, opening the door to find the subjects of their curiosity at their front row desks, all of them with their heads laid on their arms, sprawled across the hard surfaces. The heroes in training heard soft snores as they stared at the trio semi cuddled at their desks.
"They don't look like dangerous psychopaths like this." Sero half whispered, taking a step into the classroom.
"Yeah, they look almost...peaceful?" Ashido cautiously walked closer to the trio, leaning over to get a better look at their faces.
"Maybe because we are trying to sleep, morons."
"Eep!" Most of the class jumped back at the sound of Dabi's voice, paling at the glare on his face as he shifted his head to look at them.
"Wake them up and I will kill you. That is a promise."
Bakugou scoffed, dropping his bag next to his chair as he sat down in his seat. "You wouldn't have to worry about them being woken up if they weren't sleeping in the classroom." He paused, eyes shifting to the sleeping duo before he grunted, looking away. "Why are they sleeping here anyways?"
Dabi didn't answer right away. Instead he took off his blazer, wrapping it around Izuku and Toga's shoulders', giving them a soft smile even though they weren't awake to see it, before turning to address the class. "Even though it isn't any of your fucking business, they didn't get any sleep last night. They tend not to sleep well in unfamiliar places, especially after an episode and when they know there are people around that wish them harm." Dabi shot Bakugou a glare. "I finally got them to sleep here, away from you all, so if you wake them up - "
Toga shifted in her sleep, scooting closer to Izuku, who in turn snuggled into her warmth. They were practically on top of each other, their arms entwined on the desks and legs pressed together with Dabi's blazer laying over their shoulders', foreheads nearly touching.
Looking away from his friends once more, Dabi let his eyes wander across the students as they found their seats. He made sure he made eye contact with each of them before he slowly dragged a finger across his throat, getting his point across as to what would happen to them if they woke up his friends.
The classroom was almost silent, the only sound being the soft snores coming from Izuku and Toga as they slept peacefully on their desks at the front of the class. Nobody - not even Bakugou - dared to make a sound lest they wake up the two reforming villains.
The silence continued for a few more minutes until the classroom door opened and Aizawa stood there. He noticed the two sleeping students right away, glancing at the harsh look Dabi was giving him before nodding once, closing the classroom door quietly. Walking up to the board, he wrote down what they were doing that morning.
"Choosing a class rep?" Kirishima questioned, a little too loudly.
The sleeping duo stirred in their sleep, eyes opening slightly. Dabi was quick to run his fingers through their hair and they were both out like lights in an instant, the fire user promising pain to the red head with just his eyes.
Kirishima gulped, looking to Bakugou for help. The blond shrugged, letting his friend know he was on his own. Kirishima stared at Bakugou with an expression of utter betrayal.
Aizawa sighed, pointing to what he wrote above that statement. "Notice how I wrote quietly, Kirishima." He practically whispered. "Don't wake up Rabid and Toga. I don't feel like having any bloodshed in my classroom today."
Iida, very quietly, proposed they democratically vote for a class representative. Knowing that most people would vote for themselves, he suggested this because those that had votes more than just themselves would be best suited for the position.
Everyone looked to their teacher for approval of their election system, but he couldn't care less, just stating not to wake him or the two sleeping students up during the process and to get it done by lunch.
"Before you go to sleep, Mr. Aizawa - "
"What is it?"
"Do the reforming villains get a vote?" Hagakure inquired.
The tired man paused his zipping of his yellow sleeping bag, pondering the question. "I don't see why not. They are a part of the class now and for the foreseeable future." He finished zipping his bag, flopping onto the floor. "Now don't disturb me and get this over with."
A few beats of stillness passed before Yaoyorozu suggested they get started with the voting. Everyone pulled out a blank piece of paper, writing their vote down on it and placing it in an empty box that Yaoyorozu made with her quirk after proving it was, in fact, empty. The class had questioned how Izuku and Toga would vote, most claiming they shouldn't get to vote since they were sleeping. Dabi shut that part of the class down and said he would vote for them since he knew who they would vote for anyways.
Nobody argued with him, not wanting to get on his bad side.
The votes were all collected and tallied, the class representative being Iida and the assistant representative being Yaoyorozu.
"Glad to see you could be quiet and function without screaming." Aizawa startled half the class when he spoke, his eyes trained on Bakugou with the second half of his sentence, the blond scoffing. "Now get out of my classroom and go eat."
"Fuck yeah, food time!"
"Hopefully the food in the cafeteria is better than the food in the dorms."
Dabi looked at his two friends as they sat up and grinned at him, Toga handing him his blazer. "How long have you two been awake?"
"About halfway through the voting." Izuku hummed, stretching his arms high above his head with a yawn. "Who did you give my vote to?"
"Yaoyorozu."
"Damn, I was hoping you'd give it to Todoroki." Rabid smirked. Dabi glared at him. "What? I told you guys yesterday, he is my new favorite. Why wouldn't I vote for my favorite?"
"After I let you sleep, this is how you treat me." Dabi shook his head, slinging his blazer over his shoulder as he stood up and walked towards the door. "I want a divorce."
"I burnt the marriage certificate. Can't return me without the receipt, baby." Rabid sang, linking arms with Toga as they skipped after Dabi.
Class 1-A slowly followed the trio out of the classroom and to the cafeteria, finding their new classmates at the front of the line, a considerable distance between them and the next people in line. It was clear that everyone in the cafeteria was afraid of them and just let them pass, not wanting to have a confrontation with them.
Word had spread fast about the three teenage villains attending UA, nearly the entire school knew about them and didn't stop talking about the three and trying to catch a glimpse of them.
Very few knew Rabid's true identity.
Nobody outside the trio knew Dabi's.
Most everybody was wary of them, having heard some version of their crimes.
Which is why they sat by themselves in the middle of the cafeteria, the students giving them a wide buffer zone.
Almost all the students gave them a wide buffer zone.
Ashido and Uraraka grabbed their trays of food, looking for a place to sit when Ashido got an idea. "Hey, why don't we sit over there?"
Uraraka followed where Ashido's finger was pointing and gulped. "A-are you sure?"
"Yeah! Let's bring Tsu and the others with us! It'll be fun." Ashido assured the brunette. "Come on!"
After gathering - and convincing - their friends the group made their way over to the villains. The trio looked up at them with varying expressions. "Can we help you?" Dabi asked flatly, eyeing the heroes in training disdainfully.
"Can we sit with you three?" Ashido asked brazenly, her lack of fear astounding.
"No."
"Fuck off."
"Sure!"
Deciding to listen to Toga's answer, the pink girl pulled out a chair, signaling to her friends to do the same. Soon the table was full and everyone was sitting in a semi uncomfortable silence.
Izuku decided to break it after taking a bite of his lunch. He moaned loudly, tossing his head back and slamming his palms onto the table. "Yes! So good."
"Are you serious? Right in front of my salad?" Kaminari deadpanned, earning a snicker from the green haired teen.
Izuku smirked at the blond. "I like this one - "
"If you say 'another' and smash me on the ground - "
"I'll smash you on the table, if you'd prefer." Izuku winked.
Dabi threw his hands up. "Do you ever stop flirting?"
"Aw, are you jealous?" Izuku cooed. "Don't worry, you're still my favorite To - mmph!"
The green haired teen was cut off by Dabi shoving a spoonful of soup into his mouth, a threatening smile on the taller teen's face. "You're looking a little thin, Rabid. Why don't you stop talking and eat up, hmm?"
Toga completely ignored her two friends, looking at the brunette across from her. "Hi! I don't think we've properly met. I'm Toga Himiko! What's your name?"
"I-I'm Uraraka Ochako."
"That's a pretty name." Toga smiled. "I hope we can be great friends! Don't you?"
"Sure?"
Toga's smile grew a little before she went around the table, asking the rest of the small group of her classmates their names as they were never properly introduced to her.
The blonde girl tuned back to the conversation her two friends were having after she was introduced to everyone at the table, covering her mouth to hide her snicker when she heard what Izuku was talking about.
"- are inherently heroic, just like no quirk is inherently villainous. For example, Eraserhead's quirk could easily be used for evil, but it is considered 'heroic' because he uses it to take down 'villains' and bring them to 'justice'." Izuku paused to take a bite. "My quirks could also be used for heroics but it is considered 'villainous' just because I use them to teleport pedophiles off rooftops and watch them go splat. Like, come on!"
Toga chuckled. "Rabid, that's called murder."
Izuku turned to the blonde. "So?"
"Murder is illegal." Dabi spoke slowly.
Snorting, the green haired teen took a bite of his food. "Only illegal if you get caught."
Everyone at the table fell silent, blinking at the reforming villain.
"Rabid, honey, sweetheart, darling, sugarplum...we did get caught." Toga gestured around them at the school cafeteria with an arched brow.
Izuku chewed slowly, tapping his chin for a moment before pointing at Toga. "You sure got me there."
Before anyone could say or do anything else an alarm started blaring. Dabi groaned, looking at the hero course students. "What the ever loving fuck is that?"
"How should we know? We've barely been here longer than you three." Bakugou snapped, jumping from his seat.
A third year ran by the group, talking loudly with his friends about how it meant there was a breach and that everyone needed to evacuate.
"How are we supposed to evacuate? Our bracelets won't allow us to leave the premises." Toga tilted her head in confusion, looking to her friends for answers. Neither of them could provide any, so they just stayed put, continuing on with their lunches.
"Aren't you three coming?" Uraraka asked, slowing her exit to stare at the blonde.
"We can't." Toga showed the brunette her wrists, an apologetic smile on her face. "We should be fine though, go ahead. If it is serious, I'm sure Eraserhead or someone will find us."
"Are you sure?" Uraraka didn't look like she was herself.
"Mhm."
"Okay..." Uraraka stayed for a second before Ashido pulled her along, the two of them disappearing in the crowd.
The trio stayed in their seats as the crowd in the cafeteria thinned out, the noise level going down as the students exited the large room. They ate their lunch in silence, a sort of unidentifiable tension hanging over them as they put their trays away before slowly making their way towards the classroom.
As they walked, they heard other students talking about how it was a false alarm and it was just the press outside, nothing serious. The three made it to the classroom, opening the door and finding their seats, noticing some students already present and giving them wary, suspicious looks.
Dabi glared back at them as Toga took her seat, talking Izuku's ear off about how great the food was and how happy she was to have made friends with Uraraka and the others. Izuku nodded along, a small smile on his face to show he was glad that his friend was enjoying herself despite the circumstances.
The oldest of the trio watched his two friends interact, silently vowing to himself to protect their happiness, no matter the cost.
