betrayal of the highest order

Kirishima fixed his face from one of shock to one of determination, jaw tightened and eyes narrowed. He activated his quirk, stepping closer to the blond who was straddling the green haired villain.

Bakugou narrowed his eyes as well, starting to activate his own quirk before he felt a hand wrap around his neck. He turned to look down at the harsh gaze Izuku had fixed him with. "Don't even think about using your quirk on Denki and Kirishima. It won't end well for you."

The blond scowled. "What are you going to do? Kill me?"

"Precisely."

"That's not very heroic of you."

Izuku sneered. "I don't care. You hurt Dabi and were probably planning to hurt Tomura and Himiko as well. I can't let that go, I won't."

Bakugou chuckled, deactivating his quirk. "You are such a good friend, Izuku. Protecting your friends and seeking vengeance for them. But tell me, would they do the same for you, if they knew what you were hiding from them?"

"Irrelevant. Even if they wind up hating me, I will still give them anything they want."

"How selfless." Bakugou got off Izuku, holding his hands up in surrender. "I yield." He glanced down at the bloodied Izuku, a small smirk on his lips. "If there is one thing Sensei taught me, it is to know when you are in over your head. I wonder, did you receive the same lesson?"

Izuku glowered, watching the blond as Kirishima solemnly stepped forward and secured him with capture tape. He started to stand up as Kaminari jogged over to him, the electric teen placing a hand on Izuku's back. "Are you okay?"

Nodding at his boyfriend, Izuku watched on as Aizawa and a few other faculty came down to the training grounds to help secure Bakugou and bring him into custody. "Yeah, I've had worse."

Kaminari frowned. "That's not as reassuring as you think it is."

The shorter teen shrugged, smirking at his boyfriend. "It may not be reassuring but it's the truth." He slipped his hand into Kaminari's, tugging him after the pros and Bakugou. "Come on, let's go watch Bakugou make an ass of himself."

The pair started to follow the group of heroes and the traitor, Kirishima falling into step with them as they went. The red head kept glancing at the two boyfriends, an unsure expression on his face. It took him a moment before he cleared his throat, training his eyes on Izuku. "Rabid?" The teen hummed in response, arching a bloodied brow. "How did you know the traitor was Bakugou?"

Sighing, Izuku explained to the heartbroken teen how he figured out Bakugou was the traitor, the two heroes in training listening intently. Izuku finished his tale, voicing how hesitant he was to believe that his one time friend could do this until Bakugou confirmed it on the front steps once more.

Kirishima swallowed thickly, nodding his thanks to Izuku. The green haired teen gave Kirishima a sympathetic look. "I'm sorry, Kirishima. But hey, look at the somewhat bright side...Bakugou may find redemption and rehabilitation through the villain rehab program here at UA."

The red head winced at the mention of Bakugou being a villain.

Kaminari noticed this, whispering to his boyfriend softly. "Maybe you could've glossed over the fact that Bakugou is a villain?"

Izuku blinked. "Why? It's the truth. He himself admitted it not even ten minutes ago."

The electric teen had to remind himself that Izuku spent some of his formative years being tortured and brainwashed into being a villain and an assassin so his tact was not where it could be.

Izuku, Kaminari, and Kirishima arrived back at the monitoring room where the rest of the class was standing dumbfounded. Well, most of them.

Toga rushed up to Izuku and hugged him tightly. "Rabid, you crazy son of a bitch. He very well could've killed you out there."

Hugging the girl back, Izuku patted her head. "Himiko, Bakugou may be a traitor and a budding psychotic, but he is no killer. He doesn't have it in him."

Dabi rolled his eyes. "And you know this how...?"

"Simple. I am a killer, so I know one when I see one. He doesn't have the heart for it, and even if he did, he would never kill me. The guilt would be too much." Izuku smirked. "He has the amount of anger for it and has probably fantasized about it but he would never carry out those dreams. Bakugou blames me for his mother's reaction to my mom's death and hates me for it, but he also knows Auntie would be equally as devastated to find out I was still alive and had been murdered. And if she found out her son was the one to kill me? It would truly kill her."

Shigaraki shook his head. "You took quite the gamble."

Izuku shrugged, releasing Toga from his arms. "Not a gamble." He glanced at the class, nodding towards the main building. "Shall we go watch Bakugou implode for once?"

Following after the young villain, the group of teens made their way to where Bakugou was to be interrogated. One glance at his students and Aizawa knew it would be pointless and futile to tell them to leave. Sighing, the underground hero gestured for the teens to take a seat near the monitor where a feed of Bakugou was playing. None of them were allowed into the room with Bakugou and Tsukauchi.

None of them except for Izuku, who Aizawa pulled aside.

The young villain arched an eyebrow at his teacher's actions. "Yes?"

Aizawa narrowed his eyes at the boy. "Bakugou seems to get riled up whenever you are near him. And as we know, when people get riled up and emotional, they become sloppy and make mistakes."

Izuku nodded slowly. "So you want me to stand in on the interrogation and make him angry, correct?"

"Precisely."

"Lead the way."

Aizawa opened the door to the interrogation room and motioned for Izuku to go through. He sent the rest of his class a look, warning them not to question his decision and to obey.

Izuku stepped into the room, eyes boring into the restrained blond who sat at the table. He smirked, seeing right through Bakugou's cool exterior to the panic and anger beneath.

Strolling up the detective seated across from the traitor, Izuku sat on the edge of the table, body turned towards Bakugou. When the blond didn't look at him, Izuku cleared his throat, causing the cool exterior to crack a little when Bakugou eyed him.

"Hello, Kacchan. You know, there is something oddly soothing about seeing you in handcuffs while I am free, don't you think?" Izuku smirked, leaning towards his once friend ever so slightly.

Bakugou returned the smirk, eyes twinkling with rage. "You won't be free for long when you inevitably slip up and let your facade down, showing your true colors."

Izuku shrugged. "We can be cell mates, then, and send joint letters to Auntie explaining ourselves."

A muscle below Bakugou's left eye twitched and he clenched his fists on the table. "Like I would ever let you have any form of communication with my mom. You've done enough damage to her - to everyone - and I won't let it continue. I can't."

"Oh? Who else have I damaged?"

Bakugou chuckled a hollow laugh, a sadistic look taking over his face. "Face it, Deku, you ruin everyone you come in contact with. First your parents, turning the Symbol of Peace into a gutted shell of his former self after you sat back and watched your mother get assaulted and beat daily before murdering her with your own hands. You destroyed my mother and my parents' marriage. You led Toga and Dabi to the League, further corrupting them. You have ended countless lives with the murders you've committed. And now you show up here trying to soil the good name of UA and the heroes they produce. I mean, you've already destroyed our class. They barely bat an eye when one of you does something questionable. Hell, you have Kaminari and Uraraka under your thumb! And all of this is excluding what you have done to me."

When Bakugou's rant was over, there was silence in the interrogation room, two pairs of eyes trained on the blond while he shot invisible daggers at the young villain sitting on the table.

Tsukauchi looked between the former diaper buds, calculating his next move. But before he could do anything, a loud laughter erupted out of Izuku.

The teen wiped his eyes as he continued to howl with amusement, clutching his stomach with one arm. "Oh, man! Do you even hear yourself, Bakugou? You make me look completely sane with the way your logic works." Izuku sobered up instantly, a sadistic smirk of his own forming on his lips. "You have done some very bad things and hurt some heroes yourself along the way, you know this, right? I mean, if you hadn't called in for Tomura and the rest of the League, Aizawa wouldn't have been attacked." Bakugou flinched. "And the way you refuse to take responsibility for your actions is absolutely pathetic. You blame me for making you this way? Ha! What a joke."

"Rab - " Tsukauchi tried to intervene but was promptly cut off.

"Detective, give me the room please."

Tsukauchi looked at the door and nodded, leaving through the frame when Aizawa opened it for him. The teacher glanced at his students before shutting the door, hoping Izuku knew what he was doing.

Izuku got off the table and began pacing, arms crossed behind his lower back.

Bakugou rolled his eyes at this display. "I know why you are here and what they are trying to use you for. Let me tell you, it ain't going to work. I'm not going to slip up and tell you what Sensei has planned."

Pausing in his steps, Izuku glanced at Bakugou. "So he does have something planned. Slip up number one, Kacchan."

"Fuck." Bakugou closed his mouth, eyes shooting lasers into the table in front of him.

Izuku peered over his shoulder at the camera positioned in the corner of the ceiling, aimed at him and Bakugou. He winked at it before strolling over to Bakugou, slamming his hands down on the table and leaning across it until he was six inches from Bakugou's face.

Bakugou's face twisted with agitation as he realized how close the villain was to him.

This small change in facial expression caused Izuku to giggle, a smirk forming on his mouth as he stared down Bakugou, studying his face.

After about thirty seconds of neither teen saying anything, Izuku scoffed, his smirk deepening.

"You must think you are so important to Sensei, don't you, Kacchan? Well, let me let you in on a little secret, hm?" Izuku leaned closer, his eyes twinkling with mischief. "You, my dear Bakugou Katsuki, are not the traitor. At least, not the real one."

Bakugou turned his glare from the table back to Izuku. "What are you - " Realization dawned on the blond and he smirked back at the green eyed teen. "Oh. I get it."

"Then you must also get that you are and always have been, just a pawn. A tool. A means to an end. You were never Sensei's priority, only a gateway to UA and retrieving his lost sons and followers. You mean nothing." Izuku chuckled. "If you weren't so blinded by your hatred of me, you could've realized the golden opportunity you had been handed and become the greatest hero. You could've agreed to Sensei's terms and then turned on him, gathering intel for the heroes. But no, you decided to try your hands at being a vengeful villain and look where that got you, hm? In cuffs while your 'greatest enemy' walks free."

Bakugou slammed his hands on the table, standing up and pushing his face closer to Izuku's. "You do realize you just admitted to being a traitor, correct?" He scoffed. "Looks like you'll soon be back behind bars yourself."

Placing a hand on Bakugou's shoulder, Izuku smiled at his once friend. "Oh, Kacchan, you really believe that, don't you? Well, let me let you in on another not so secret secret, shall I?" He gestured with his thumb towards the door. "Nobody out there is going to believe you if you do tell them what I just 'admitted'. You have thoroughly and completely broken their trust in you. And now? You are utterly alone in the world. No friends, no allies, no parents. I mean, sure, they are alive but Auntie is catatonic and do you really think your dad is going to forgive you for worsening your mother's state when she inevitably hears about this?"

Bakugou paled, the fight draining out of him as he sunk back into his seat. He gaped at Izuku as the villain stood up, an amused glint in his eyes. "You have no one, Kacchan. And you know you have no one to blame but yourself."

Something snapped in Bakugou.

"You did this! You, the ever strategizing Deku, set me up! You knew this is where it would lead."

Izuku shook his head softly. "Believe what you want...but would I really endanger my friends just for some petty revenge on my childhood bully?"

Slamming his hands on the table once more, Bakugou shot out of his seat, his chest heaving with angry breaths. "You have ruined me, Midoriya Izuku! Just like you ruin everything and everyone you come in contact with! You're a fucking monster!"

Izuku smiled at Bakugou, turning around towards the door. "Takes one to know one."

"Everyone's lives would be better if you weren't in them! You have spoiled everything with your existence. You should never have been born!"

The door shut on the angry yelling of the blond, Izuku sighing as he turned to look up at Aizawa. "I riled him up, just like you asked. Send Tsukauchi in there while the mood lasts."

Aizawa stared at Izuku for a moment before nodding, sending the detective into the room with the enraged blond. He glanced back at Izuku, eyes boring into him. "Are you okay?"

"I've had worse, Eraser." Izuku shrugged, walking away from the teacher and back to the class.

When he arrived back he was once more attacked with hugs by Toga. He chuckled, patting her back.

Toga pulled out of the hug to stare intently in his eyes. "You do realize without you, Dabi and I would probably be dead and Tomura would still be under All For One's strict influence, right? You didn't ruin us, you saved us."

Izuku gave his best friend a small, cocky smile. "You really think I'd let someone like Bakugou get to me? Please."

Pulling Toga back to the group, Izuku finally saw the devastation his childhood frenemy had caused.

The students of 1-A were all crestfallen, staring down at the floor in front of their feet with looks of shock and utter disbelief on their faces. Yaoyorozu and Jiro were clutching hands while Sero and Ashido tried to console Kirishima.

Sighing, Izuku cleared his throat, gaining the attention of his classmates. "This is no time to mope."

Mineta rolled his eyes. "Easy for you to say."

"Yeah, yeah it is. Because it is true. Every precious second counts." Izuku received confused looks in return. He shook his head, walking towards the exit to head to the dorms. "Think about it. Bakugou was working for All For One, you know, the worst villain of all time? And he went to - goes to - UA, the best hero school around, surrounded by the top heroes in training. Observing their quirks and fighting styles, learning their strengths and weaknesses. And all that data collecting wasn't for himself."

Iida gasped. "He has betrayed everything he knows about us to All For One!"

"Exactly." Izuku glanced over his shoulder to see the rest of the class following after him. "Which means you need to work extra hard to power up and expand your fighting styles if you want even a semblance of a chance at beating All For One."

Kirishima clenched his fists. "We shouldn't waste even a second."

Tokoyami agreed. "Let's get to work on bettering ourselves as heroes."

"No time like the present." Asui ribbited.

Watching the hero course students get themselves pumped up, Izuku grinned, backing away from the group once they reached the dorms. He made his way upstairs to the rooms, walking away from his own dorm and towards a certain traitorous blond's room. Entering the room, the young villain closed and locked the door behind him.

Instantly he went over to the bed and reached underneath it, patting the bottom of the bed until he found what he was looking for.

A hidden compartment that held the cellphone Bakugou used to communicate with All For One.

A triumphant giggle left his throat as he turned the burner phone on, dialing the only number programmed into it.

"I did not expect to hear from you so soon. What happened?"

Izuku shivered at the cold voice of his adopted father.

"Bakugou Katsuki has been exposed and apprehended." Izuku finally spoke.

"Ah, Rabid. I should've known you would be contacting me sooner rather than later. Do tell how the boy was discovered."

"I revealed his true nature to the heroes. He didn't bother denying it."

"That boy is more stubborn than you, Rabid." All For One chuckled. "How have you been?"

"Frustrated. I am growing impatient."

"In due time, my boy. Everything will work out as it is supposed to."

"I know. I trust your plan and will carry it out. Have no doubt."

"I harbor no doubt about you. You were destined to do this...to become an even greater villain than myself."

"Thank you for your faith in me. I will not let you down." Izuku watched as All For One hung up on him, clenching the phone in his hand. Chuckling, Izuku sat down on Bakugou's bed, his laughter growing louder. "This is too perfect!" He threw himself backwards into a lying position, staring up at Bakugou's ceiling. "Everything is falling into place, everyone moving to their desired destinies as I pull their strings from behind the scene." He sighed, a serene look falling onto his face. "I will get revenge for you mom, for everything that happened to us. Nothing will stop me from taking down the man responsible, the man that destroyed our lives, the one that thinks he is above retribution."

Glancing out the window, Izuku let out another chuckle, eyes twinkling with glee and mania.

"I'm coming for you and there is nothing you can do to prevent your demise. You don't stand a chance, I will topple your reputation and kill you, slowly and painfully, for all that you have done to not only me, but my mom, my friends, and my father. All For One...I look forward to you being my last kill."
