"𝐖𝐡𝐨 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐲𝐨𝐮!?"
Hello everyone!
I just want to point out that in this fanfiction everyone is sixteen (I didn't want to write a "romance" with thirteen-year-olds as main characters), Ben is alive, Vanya has her powers, and Five is not missing.
This fanfiction will contain bloody descriptions of fights, wounds, and dead people. If you are sensitive - do not read it.
That's all from me for now,
Enjoy!
—(••÷ ~☂️~ ÷••)—
Five spatial-jumped into the living room, nearly falling over the end.
— Shit - he shouted. — Mum, did you see that? I nearly succeeded!
— Five, watch your language. - Grace straightened his uniform. — Go to your siblings, the exercises are about to start.
Five walked obediently in the direction of his siblings, who were gathered about with interest. He came a little bit closer. They were all sitting close to Klaus, each one of them looking at a newspaper article.
— What's going on? What makes this piece of paper so intriguing?
— Come, five. Sit here. Yesterday, something exciting happened. - Allison remarked. She seemed quite ecstatic.
— If this is her power, I must say it's impressive. I have never seen anything like that in my life. - added Ben.
Luther snapped — I don't know what you see in that girl. She is a criminal! Yeah, I know, she might be our 'sister', but if she can't control herself, I don't want her here! No offence, Vanya.
Vanya smiled. Despite her severe issues with controlling her powers, she was used to such remarks by this point. They were even kind of funny sometimes.
— What do you mean by saying "she could be our sister"? - Five questioned, staring puzzled.
— Quiet, everyone! - Klaus has effectively silenced everyone. - Let me reread it. " Today, the bodies of a 65-year-old woman and a 70-year-old man were found. Their bodies, according to investigators, were massacred with an old hammer. Following the autopsy, the police revealed that the culprit frequently crushed the victims' bones with a hammer. Every hour he or she crushed one bone. The torturing continued till the couple passed away. Most importantly, there weren't any traces found. There were no witnesses, and the victims' families knew nothing. The perpetrator appeared to have vanished into thin air. However, the couple's neighbour arrived at the police station with his camera two hours after the incident was reported.
It turned out he had filmed the potential perpetrator. According to the experts, the individual in the video appears to be a sixteen-year-old girl. What's more, the figure in the footage goes around the room covered in blood for two minutes straight, only to vanish in the shadows later. Some believe she is a God-sent messenger who murders sinners, while others prefer to remain silent about what they observed in the video. We've included a photo from the video. Anyone who sees this girl is expected to contact the police immediately. "
Five examined the photograph, analyzing every detail that piqued his interest. The image showed an open window in a apartment building, and a girl standing just behind the glass, unaware that she was being filmed. Her hair was [Hair/Length] and [Hair/Colour]. She was dressed casually, in an baggy black T-shirt and red shorts. She didn't appear afraid or happy with herself. She simply stood there staring at the air. That was all. She did not take any action. In the picture, there were no feelings, no hints, nothing.
She seemed mysterious and serene. There are no words to explain Five's fascination with her appearance. And the possibility that she was one of them, a possible new member of the Umbrella Academy, never left his thoughts.
— I'm not sure what you're so upset about, Luther - he remarked as he handed the piece of newspaper back to Klaus. — It'd be nice to have someone like her in our team. If she was able to murder two people and flee with no evidence left, I believe her criminal mentality could help us spot criminals or even predict their intentions in the future.
— Why does everyone here want a criminal in the team?! - Luther asked.
— Mate. There are TWO girls and SIX guys here. And one is already taken! By you! We need more... um... female representatives. - suggested Klaus, as everyone chuckled.
— I can't believe I'm saying this, but I agree with Klaus. 101%. - Diego sprang to his feet.
— Me too. - Allison laughed as she said. — I and Vanya need some more "female companions" here. Girls night isn't that fun if it's just the two of us.
— What about us??? - asked Klaus, evidently affected by his sister's words, pointing to himself and Ben.
— You two are boys..
— Why are you calling it "girls night" when you have boys over? - Diego remarked, but Allison ignored his question.
Ben and Vanya also agreed with Klaus' idea, which only made Luther feel offended and betrayed by his siblings.
— We've won - replied Klaus cheerfully. — If any of you meet her, simply offer her to join our dysfunctional family. I bet she'll accept!
— More likely she would run away after the "dysfunctional family" part, but okay. - Ben smirked.
— No, you have not yet won. There is also Five. Five, how do you make of all of this? - Luther asked.
— Not sure. She seems to be a great fit if it comes for fighting criminals, even if she is one herself. I wouldn't mind if she wanted to join in. To be honest, I could not care less.
— Great! We now have a "stepsister"! - Klaus exclaimed.
— Children! - Grace interrupted them. - Your father is waiting for you in the training room.
The kids quickly ceased speaking and hurried to follow their mother. Their father, Reginald Hargreeves, waited and glared furiously at his pocket watch. The kids formed a line in front of their dad. Reginald was writing something in his notebook while standing still. The kids lost all of their confidence as a result of the stillness and the tension in the room. As though awaiting the death penalty, they stood there in silence. Finally, their father began to speak.
— You are a minute late. - he said. His face said no more than 'I am disappointed.' — Today you will fight in pairs. Number Three with number Five. Number Seven with number Six. Number One with number Two. And for you, number Four, I have a special task for you. You may begin. Number Four, you come with me. - he said as he left the room. Everyone looked at Klaus curiously, expressing some kind of sympathy. But Klaus looked pleased and quickly followed his father.
— I wonder where father always takes him. I hardly ever see Klaus home lately. - Allison whispered to the others. They all nodded. The father was not close to any of them and was always rude and unkind, so why was Klaus so happy?
— Maybe he just discovered a new ability and father wants to test it. - Ben suggested. — I'll ask him about it when he gets back and let you know then.
—(••÷ ~☂️~ ÷••)—
After lunch, the children went for a short walk to relax after their training. Luther and Allison took the lead. They caught Number Five's attention. He noticed them holding hands as he stared forward. Some people were disgusted because they no longer tried to hide their feelings for each other. Five and Diego were the most irritated of all. Why? Diego disliked seeing couples, and Five simply didn't understand love. Following Luther and Allison were Ben, Klaus, and Diego, who were followed by Vanya and Five in the end.
Allison suddenly turned toward the others and asked — Do you think we'll see her today?
— We have a high possibility of meeting her because we know she was in town yesterday. Besides, it's late, and everyone knows that late afternoon is the best time for criminals to appear. - Diego responded.
— It'd be fucking amazing! She's such an icon! - Klaus said.
Ben nudged Klaus. — Language Klaus!
— OK MOM.
After a few minutes Klaus began pressing everyone to go to Griddy's Doughnuts. Nobody wanted to betray their father's trust, but they had to agree that they were all hungry by now.
— Perhaps if we run there, we'll be home by 9 p.m. - Vanya offered.
Everyone turned to number Five, since he was the mathematical genius here.
— You're all stupid, but yes, if we hurry, we can go back home earlier - he murmured.
Everyone began rushing as fast as they could to the cafe. Diego won the race, followed by Luther, Five, Allison accompanied Ben, and lastly Vanya and Klaus. They entered the cafe, panting as they were exhausted.
— Good evening children! - They were welcomed by Agnes, the proprietor of Griddy's Doughnuts, a kind elderly lady. — Can I take your orders?
— A chocolate donut for me, please. - Luther replied.
— I want a strawberry one! - Allison shouted.
— I want..
Klaus dashed to the counter, shoving Diego aside. — We'd have two milkshakes and waffles! - He answered, pointing to Ben, who was standing just behind him.
— Okay.. - said Agnes, smiling as she took down their orders. — And what can I get for you? — she asked, turning to Number Five.
Five broke away from his reverie, looking at the woman.
— Just coffee. Black.
— I'll get back to you soon as it's possible! - Agnes waved at them before returning to the counter.
The kids pushed together several tables so that everyone could sit together. Everyone (excluding Klaus and Diego) waited patiently for their orders. Numbers Two and Four were constantly arguing with each other, pointing out all of their flaws. Vanya, who was seated between them, had to calm them down while protecting herself from deafness caused by their screaming.
— Could you two please shut up? I can't hear my own thoughts because of you. - Luther noticed.
— And because of the two of you, I'll have to wash my eyes with bleach. - said Diego, pointing at Luther and Allison who were flirting with each other constantly since they got here.
Number One and Three both reddened and remained silent, looking aside, avoiding each other. Everyone laughed at their reaction. PARTICULARLY Klaus and Diego, who appeared to get along pretty well today.
— Here you go, kids. Bon appetit! - Agnes strolled up to their table and handed everyone their orders. Everyone thanked her and started eating.
— Be careful. It's hot. - Agnes stated as she poured Five his coffee. He nodded.
Klaus began talking about this morning once more. It started with how he beat Ben in the race to the living room and ended with a short conversation about that mysterious girl from newspaper.
Klaus became so focused on the discussion that he began gesticulating excessively, and while speaking, he accidentally pushed Five's cup, spilling its contents all over him.
— Shit! Klaus! - Five shouted in pain and jumped from his seat.
— Fuck.. Five, I'm sorry. - Klaus muttered, but Five left Griddy's Donuts before he could finish.
— That fucking moron! - He murmured as he proceeded to remove his soaked sweatshirt. He raised his head slightly. In front of him stood a medium-sized old building. Just a regular building. Nothing new. — What the..
He was carefully eyeing one of the building's windows, when suddenly Klaus approached him from behind.
— Five! I am so sorry. I didn't mean to do that, and I'm sorry out of my own free will, not because you're going to kill me later-
— Klaus, stop talking! Did you see that? - he asked, pointing into the same window he had just looked through.
— What are you talking abou- What the hell?!
Both Five and Klaus looked through the window, where they had observed a girl. To be exact, that was the same girl they had seen in the paper this morning. Five sought to see more of her while ignoring the passersby who stopped just to see them. The girl's attention was drawn to the swarm of people who had come to witness the wonderful siblings. She began to run away as soon as she noticed the boys in the world-famous Umbrella Academy uniforms amid the crowd.
Five dropped his pullover to the ground and blinked inside the apartment where he and Klaus spotted her. He looked around and saw her figure leaving the room in a rush.
— Wait! - he yelled as the girl tried to get away from him.
Five instantly chased her into a dark, dimly lighted room. In search of a light switch, he reached out and began touching the wall. He flipped the switch several times, but nothing happened. He luckily found a flashlight on a nearby cupboard. He grabbed it immediately and lit it.
He regretted coming here as soon as everything in the room became more visible. The chandelier's bulbs were deliberately knocked out, the window was boarded up, and the landline phone was shattered into little bits. The room had a chair in the centre and a dead guy on the floor near it. His entire body was covered in bruises and wounds, and his skull had been crushed with a weighing a few kilograms brick. Five could see his crushed brain oozing from beneath the shattered pieces of his skull.
He didn't have much time, though, to investigate the crime scene. After a while, he heard a glass fall behind him, which shattered into little pieces when it hit the cold floor. He turned around to see her standing in the corridors. The girl who everyone knew from the newspaper. She hurriedly opened the closet door, casting a big shadow on an adjacent wall.
— Wait! Who are you!? - he yelled again, but it was too late. The girl vanished into the previously stated shadow on the wall. She practically dissolved into it.
Five was staring at the area where the girl had stood just a moment before.
— What the fuck did just happened... - he though as he turned to look at the corpse once again.
He moved slowly further into the area, which appeared to be a torture chamber. The fact that there were no sharp items on the floor piqued his curiosity. There were no knives, saws, penknives, or other tools that might have caused such extensive injuries on this man.
— Klaus! - he shouted through the open window in the kitchen. — Klaus, call the cops!
—(••÷ ~☂️~ ÷••)—
— I swear to you! I saw her with my own eyes! - he exclaimed, fed up with his siblings' doubts and endless questions. — Klaus also saw her!
— That's true. - Klaus replied proudly.
— Seriously? What did she look like? - Allison asked.
— Like in the picture from the newspaper, except she wasn't dirty with blood.
— And she smashed this guy herself? - Diego joined the conversation.
— I do not know. I showed up there when the man was already dead.
— See?! I warned you! - Luther hollered at his siblings. — She's dangerous! You want to bring her to our house so she can open your skull as you sleep as well?
— Don't be too dramatic, Luther. - Allison reassured him. — After all, we also hurt people.
— While saving the others! These are completely different things. - Luther quickly went to his room, leaving his siblings in the living room.
— Gull.. - Diego whispered.
— It bothers him that someone else is powerful enough to crack open an adult male's head. - Klaus responded.
The rest of the siblings returned to their dinner. Since their father wasn't in town, they were free to disobey some of the norms that regulated their home.
— His enormous macho ego is suffering right now. - added Number Two. — Allison, go and cheer him up.
For this stupid joke, Allison rumoured Diego to hit himself in the face.
— I'm done. - said Five. Klaus yelled for him to stay with them, but Five already left the room. He dashed into the kitchen, dropped his plate and rushed to his room.
He slammed the door shut. He drew a small pinboard from beneath the bed, which was covered in single notes and newspaper photographs.
He has been running a small investigation on this mystery girl from the newspaper since this morning. The minute he saw her in that room today he swore to himself that he would find out her real identity even if it meant death. His death, or his siblings'.
Five ripped out a page from his notebook and began writing down everything he had seen today. According to what he had seen, the girl was wearing a few bracelets on both hands, which looked damaged, suggesting that she had them for a long period. Her clothes were similarly old and slightly worn out, implying that she didn't live in a permanent residence. Unfortunately, this information did not help his research. His thoughts on how to catch her were interrupted by Klaus, who ran into his room after about half an hour.
— Shit.. I forgot to lock the door.. - he thought.
— Come on, five! There's some shooting going on in the local jewellery store! We have to go!
Five jumped to his feet and ran after Klaus and to the rest of the siblings. There was a crowd of witnesses at the shooting area, but no gunshots were heard. The siblings had a look around. The crowd seemed... pleased? Through the large glass they could see criminals bound with ropes and hostages who had already been released.
— Did she do it? - asked Allison.
— She handled it all by herself, with no assistance. - added Diego.
— It's better for us, since we have more free time now! - Klaus laughed.
Nobody said anything else, but everyone silently agreed with Klaus. Everyone except Luther.
— Consider how much easier our work would be if she joined the Umbrella Academy. - Allison said, slowly entering the house after they got back.
— That's why we agreed to "hire" her when we will have the chance. - Diego replied.
— I know. - Allison rolled her eyes. — I just said this to convince Luther.
— Good night, everyone! - Grace said, smiling warmly at them.
— Good night! - the kids replied, on their way to their rooms.
Five gently twisted the doorknob, opened the creaky door, and silently entered the dark room. He sought the light switch, but it was nowhere to be found.
— Someone here seems to be pretty obsessed with me.. - said a soft voice.
Number Five was terrified of the probable intruder. He looked at the figure. The stranger in his room was the same girl he met tonight in that old apartment.
The girl was sitting across from him on the floor, near the open window through which she had entered his room. The bedroom was mostly dark, but the moonlight coming in highlighted the intruder's outlines.
Number Five was taken aback by the girl's reaction. Her [Eyblueolour] eyes reflected the moonlight like mirrors as she peered at him.
— Who... How?.. How did you.. WHY? - he asked, unable to form a single coherent statement.
— I wish I could answer all of your questions, but as you can see, I have a small problem. - she responded with a small smile that rapidly transformed into a grimace of pain.
Only now did Five notice that blood was seeping from the area on the girl's stomach that she had been clutching onto the entire time.
He felt like he had been hit right in the face by Luther. He walked quickly towards the door and reached out to open it, but she stopped him by holding his arm.
— I'm going to get my mother. Wait here, she'll help you. - he muttered, eyeing her injuries.
— No! Wait .. She can't know I'm here..
Five gazed at her, puzzled.
— She is programmed to help. She knows all there is to know about medicine. She can help you.
— No! - she shouted, cutting him off. — She is going to tell your father.
Five nodded. He was scared of what Reginald might do if he found another kid with magical abilities. He planned to ask the girl a lot of questions, so he couldn't take any risks.
— You are right. - he said. — Wait here, I'll be right back. - and blinked into the restroom.
— It's not like I have plans to go anywhere...
Panicking, the boy began opening all of the bathroom cabinets, finally finding a first aid box in one of them. He was back in the room in the blink of an eye and dashed over to the girl, who was now sitting on his bed.
He took a seat next her and opened the first aid kit. He thanked God that Klaus hadn't gone rummaging in the bathroom again, taking the bandages and medications like he often did.
— You'll have to... - he began to say, but suddenly stopped. Instead, he pointed to the girl's blood-splattered t-shirt.
She nodded and started rolling up her t-shirt, revealing the still-bleeding scar on her hip.
— You lost a lot of blood.. - he said, glancing at the girl.
— Are you sure you can help me? - she questioned, her gaze focused on his.
Five quickly nodded, as he felt a sudden rush of adrenaline.
— There is nothing in this world that I cannot do. - he whispered. — The bullet did not damage any organs. You are lucky.
— Phew.. You have no idea how terrified I was.
Five rapidly removed the bullet and laid it aside.
— FUCK! That hurt.
— I had no idea, someone as cold-hearted as you could feel pain. - he smirked while applying a dressing to the wound.
The girl did not respond. She focused her attention on the window until Five had done putting the bandage on.
— Done. Can you please answer my questions now?
— Sure. What would you want to know about me?
Five excitedly grabbed a notebook and a pen from the drawer and sat across from the girl.
— Where are you from? Or... no... Tell me your name. What is your power? Do you intend to murder more people?
— Calm down. One question, one answer. - she replied smiling.
— Okay.. so.. what's your name?
Hello to anyone who decided to read this... thing...
Have a nice day/night!♥
PS
Tbh I was (and still am) kind of nervous about posting this. I mean, this is my first fanfiction in English. I hope I didn't make many mistakes.
