Chapter 4
"Scott! Come back here! Grandma wants to see you in your new tie!" Lillian heard her mother from her room. She looked in her closet, and realized she needed to go shopping. She only had two dresses, and they were big on her, because she was losing weight. Some of it was because she didn't eat as much, meaning she ate less sugar, not cut down on food. Most of it though, was exercise. Lillian had learned to jog, and she loved it. She could run and think, and have fun doing it. "Scott! We need to leave soon. Stop running from Grandma and let me put on your tie." Lillian heard April say. She quickly picked a turquoise dress with a white sash and ran downstairs.
"Morning Dad." Lillian said to her father, who was studying his bible. "Good morning sweetheart." He said. "The new pastor is speaking today." Her father commented. "Really? That's cool. What's the sermon on?" She asked as she spread jam across a slice of toast. "Well... As a matter of fact, he's preaching on mistakes." Lillian's father watched for her reaction. "Mistakes?" Lillian questioned, then sat down. "Well, after three years, I'll get to hear that sermon." She said. Her dad kissed her forehead. "Yes you will. Now eat up sweetheart, we are leaving soon."
As Lillian ate her toast she thought about her job choices. Did she want to work at a daycare, or a school? What age? She got up and put her plate in the dishwasher. She would have to think about that tomorrow, today was Sunday, the Lord's Day.
