In the second book of Stacie Stilinski, Arielle "Ari" Martin, Tara cHale, and new girl Natalie Lahey, everyone is getting ready to face each other.

Stacie Stilinski feels like a helpless victim frequently, an obstacle in the way, a little girl who could easily get herself or others hurt. And she hates it that it's her greatest weakness.

Ari Martin is struggling with her status as a werewolf, her relationship with her cousin Lydia, keeping the truth from her when all she wants to do is tell her everything, and the very complicated relationship with her parents.

Tara Hale is no longer trusting of Derek since she found out that he knew who had tried to kill her with the rest of their family six years ago, and he had never spoke a word to her. She's also the only one from the pack that actually wants to help Scott, Ari and their friends, except when it comes to the Kanima. While Derek is turning all of these teens, Tara doesn't like it, because of survival and other means. But after a while, Tara finally starts to care about the pack, and she finally starts to trust her own brother again.

Natalie Lahey was a scared, self-conscious girl afraid of her father, who used to abuse not just Isaac, but her as well. When Lahey tries to search for Isaac, he brings Natalie as a form of leverage. When the Kanima killed Lahey, it had unintentionally tried to kill Natalie. Isaac brings a weak, close to death Natalie to Derek, begging him to turn her to save her life. While he does, it is come to realization that Natalie used to be best friends with Ari, Stacie and Adriana, Ari's missing twin sister. This is a past that none of them can forget, either hate, friendship or forgiveness.

They've all come face to face with their enemies and each other.

And now the only thing left to do is fight.

From 1.12 "Code Breaker", Allison and Scott remained on the roof of the Argent House, staying together despite the fact he was a Werewolf, and she was born from a family that hunted Werewolves.

From 1.12 "Code Breaker", in the Hale House, Peter ripped Kate's throat out, making her gasp. Blood splattered at the window.

From 1.11 "Formality", in the BHHS gym, at the dance, Lydia led Stiles to the dance floor.

Ari and Stacie were dancing in the crowd.

From 1.12 "Code Breaker", outside the Hale House, Tara ran out of the front door out on the porch, slowing to a stop as she looked around at the scene in front of her.

  Derek slashed through Peter's throat, ripping it from ear to ear without remorse.  

Allison turned her head to Chris' shoulder.

Stiles and Stacie were in shock.

Tara's mouth was open in surprise.

Jackson smirked, looking forward.

Scott and Ari looked hopeless.

Derek slowly stood, looking back at Tara, Scott and Ari, his voice deep and monstrous. "I'm the Alpha now."

Derek's eyes glowed red.

Allison: (voice over from 2.03 Ice Pick) "You can't get caught in the middle of this."

Scott: (voice over from 2.03 Ice Pick) "I can't pretend to be normal."

From 2.03 "Ice Pick", in the BHHS' cafeteria, Allison and Scott were sitting at two separate tables, back to back.

"I don't want you to be normal," Allison told him. "I want you to be alive."

From 2.03 "Ice Pick", outside BHHS, Stacie, Ari, Stiles and Scott ran outside through the double doors.

INSTINCT TAKES OVER

From 2.01 "Omega", in the cemetery, Chris, Victoria and Allison walked through the crowd of paparazzi, trying their best to ignore them.

From 2.01 "Omega", in Scott's car, Scott and Allison were kissing.

Scott leaned forward, leaning her back against the passenger side's door. Allison leaned forward, kissing him, smiling.

The end of a gun was pushed through the window, shattering the glass. Someone pulled Scott out of the car, throwing him onto the ground.

Outside, Chris took Scott by his hoodie and pushed him against the hood of his car, pointing the gun at him, ready to pull the trigger.

Allison ran toward them, begging and crying. "I'll do whatever you want! I swear. I won't--I won't see him again. I promise.'

Chris pulled the gun away from Scott, looking at Allison. "Never again."

From 2.03 "Ice Pick", in the Hale House, Allison was tied to a chair.

Chris was pacing. "Our sons are trained to be soldiers. Our daughters to be leaders."

From 2.01 "Omega", in the cemetery, Chris, Allison and Victoria were sitting in chairs.

An elderly man looked at Allison. "Do you remember me? You can call me Gerard, but I prefer Grandpa."

From 2.03 "Ice Pick", in an ice rink, Ari knelt to the ice, her eyes glowing blue, roaring.

From 2.01 "Omega", in the woods, Jackson burst through the surface of the water.

From 2.01 "Omega", in the cemetery, A boy was digging the grave for Katherine Argent with a machine.

Natalie Lahey, Stacie and Ari's old friend, stood out on the ground, placing the grave stone for Kate in the ground next to the six-foot hole in the ground. She had a bad cut on her cheek, trailing from her nose to her cheek bone. She looked up at the boy in the machine.

 The boy was touching his black eye, looking at it through the mirror. 

"Isaac," Natalie told him. Isaac looked at her. "Should we get anything else?"

Isaac hesitated, nodding.

From 2.02 "Shape Shifted", in an alley in the pouring rain, Natalie was on the ground, drenched from the rain, trying to push herself up off the ground.

A car door bounced off the ground, bouncing toward Natalie, slicing along her back fatally.

Natalie screamed in pain as it slid down the rest of the alley.

From 2.02 "Shape Shifted", in an underground hideout, Isaac ran into the sub way station cart that was in the middle of the hideout, carrying Natalie in a cradle.

Derek was inside. 

Tara walked in.

Isaac looked down to Natalie in his arms, blood still dripping to the floor. "My sister... She's dying."

From 2.02 "Shape Shifted", in the Lahey House's basement, Scott, Tara and Derek stood together.

Scott looked at Derek. "You can't just go around turning people into Werewolves."

"I can if they're willing," Derek told him.

From 2.02 "Shape Shifted", in the Sheriff's Station, Isaac was in a cell, leaning forward against the door. His eyes started to glow gold.

From 2.01 "Omega", in the woods, On the treeline, Lydia, naked, tangle-haired, dirty Lydia, used her hand to slowly lift a branch away.

Jackson: (voice over from 2.01 Omega) "If Lydia's turning, she's not the one that's gonna need help."

From 2.01 "Omega", in the boys' locker room, Stiles, Scott and Jackson were in uniform.

"What do you think she's gonna do with a set of real claws?" Jackson asked.

From 2.01 "Omega", in the boys' locker room, Jackson and Derek were talking.

"You're with me now," Derek told him.

"I've got my own agenda," Jackson told him.

From 2.04 "Abomination", in the animal clinic, Deaton was helping Scott. "You're kind I can help. This? This is something different."

From 2.06 "Frenemy", under a bridge, Derek and Tara were running, coming to a stop.

"Slow down," Derek told her.

"Keep up," Tara replied. "I'm trying to track the thing that's gonna try to kill us."

A snake-like creature landed on the ground behind them.

Tara turned around, letting her eyes glow blue, growling.

The creature hissed.

Derek shifted, letting his eyes glow red, roaring.

Tara ran forward.

From 2.06 "Frenemy", in the McCall House, in Scott's room, Allison screamed.

From 2.04 "Abomination", outside BHHS, Scott, Stiles, Stacie, Ari, Derek and Tara were talking.

"It's like us?" Scott asked.

"A shapeshifter, yes," Derek answered. "But it's not right. It's like a..."

"An abomination," Stacie finished.

Derek looked at Stacie, nodding.

From 2.04 "Abomination", in Scott's car, Scott was in the driver's seat. Ari was in the passenger seat. Stiles and Stacie were in the backseat.

Stiles looked at Stacie. "Are you saying you now who it is?"

"No," Stacie answered, sighing, looking at all of them. "But I think it knew me."

From 2.04 "Abomination", in the clinic, Deaton looked at Chris and Gerard. "Killing may be it's only purpose."

From 2.01 "Omega", in the Preserve, the Argents had a Werewolf in a trap.

"You're not from here, are you?" Chris asked.

"I came here looking for the Alpha," the Werewolf told them.

From 2.02 "Shape Shifted", in the Sheriff's Station's cell room, Stiles ran into the room from the side door next to the desk.

Tara looked down at a syringe, stomping on it with her foot.

Isaac, completely shifted, turned to Tara. Tara looked back at him. Isaac looked at Stiles behind a desk, taking a step toward him. Tara stepped forward, grabbing his arm, swinging him toward the wall. Isaac lifted both of his feet, walking up the wall until he back-flipped over Tara's head. Tara spun around.

Isaac walked toward Stacie.

Stacie slid back three inches into the wall.

Derek stepped past Stacie and the door, in Isaac's way, shifted his eyes glowing red, roaring.

From 2.01 "Omega", in the Preserve, Tara and Scott were hiding behind a tree. 

Tara had her arms wrapped around Scott from behind in a restraint. "Look at them. You see what they do? The only way to fight them is together."

Gerard drew a sword.

"What is this?" Scott asked. "What are they doing?"

"Declaring war," Tara answered.

Gerard swung his sword, cutting the Werewolf in the trap in half at the waist, killing him.

Chris looked at Gerard angrily. "We have a code."

"Not when they murder my daughter," Gerard told him.

From 2.03 "Ice Pick", in the BHHS' cafeteria, Allison and Scott were sitting at two separate tables, back to back.

"Don't you feel what's happening?" Allison asked. "It's like battle lines are being drawn."

From 2.02 "Shape Shifted", in the Lahey House, in the basement, Scott and Tara stood together.

"If I'm with you, I lose her," Scott told her.

"You're gonna lose her anyway," Tara told him.

From 2.03 "Ice Pick", outside a house, Natalie held up the piece of the car she had taken out. "You're having car trouble."

Natalie hit Stacie's head with the piece of the engine hard enough to make her fall unconscious.

"What the hell is your--?" Stiles started.

Natalie grabbed his head, pushing it against the brick house hard enough to make him fall unconscious. 

  Natalie looked down at them in guilt.  

From 2.03 "Ice Pick", in an underground hideout, Derek and Tara were talking.

"You're an idiot," Tara told him.

From 2.05 "Venomous", outside BHHS, Ari shattered through the wall of windows, landing on the ground outside, her arms positioned weirdly, her head tilting to the side, unconscious.

From 2.08 "Raving", outside a warehouse, Derek rolled over the dumpster, landing on the ground in a crouch, running forward, kicking over his head to kick a hunter down to the ground, landing in a crouch.

  Gerard: (voice over from 2.01 Omega) "From now on, the things are just bodies waiting to be cut in half."  

A boy grabbed Tara's hands, spinning her, swinging her off the ground, toward a hunter. Tara walked along one of the walls until she saw the hunter, pushing off the wall, kicking him back. The let go of Tara. Tara spun in the air before landing on the ground in a crouch.

  Gerard: (voice over from 2.01 Omega) "We find them, we kill them."  

From 2.08 "Raving", in the warehouse, Isaac, Natalie and a blonde girl walked together through a dark hall.

From 2.03 "Ice Pick", in the ice rink, Lydia knelt to the rise, looking up, terrified, screaming.

THE INSTINCT TO LOVE

From 2.08 "Raving", in an empty classroom, Scott and Allison were kissing.

From 2.02 "Shape Shifted", outside a gas station, a bag was pulled over Allison's head.

RUN

From 2.05 "Venomous", on a cross country trail, Stacie and Natalie were running, racing against each other.

PROTECT

From 2.08 "Raving", in an empty room, Ari knelt in front of Jackson.

Erica Stiles, Stacie, Natalie and Isaac were behind Ari.

KILL

From 2.06 "Frenemy", in a club, Derek was shifted, his eyes glowing red, growling.

TRUST THE INSTINCT

From 2.02 "Shape Shifted", in a deep freezer, Scott was desperately trying to get out.

From 2.02 "Shape Shifted", in the Lahey House's living room, Allison had a knife in her hand. "Come on!"

From 2.12 "Master Plan", in the Argent House's basement, Natalie, the blonde girl and the boy that had helped Tara were all tied up with electrical wires, duct tape over their mouths.

Gerard was beating Stiles.

A hunter held Stacie back, restraining her squeezing around her rib cage, making her scream in anger and pain.

From 2.12 "Master Plan", in the streets, Ari ran down an unknown, deserted street, tears in her eyes, arms pumping at her sides.

From 2.06 "Frenemy", under the bridge, Tara tried to punch the snake-like creature. The creature ducked out of the way. Tara's fist broke through the stone beam, making it break at the point of impact.

From 2.10 "Fury", in the Sheriff's Station's hallway, Derek and Stacie were hidden behind another wall, covered by shadows to remain unseen. Derek was holding Stacie in a cradle, looking down at her, looking relieved and protective.

From 2.01 "Omega", in a bathroom shower, Lydia screamed.

From 2.07 "Restraint", in the boys' locker room, Jackson was taking a shower, turning to face Ari, smirking.

From 2.12 "Master Plan", in a warehouse, Stiles, Stacie, Ari, Scott and Allison looked forward in shock.
