Taehyung stared out of the café's window, waiting for Jimin to arrive. Not that he was late, it was Taehyung who'd arrived early.
There was a tinkling sound and the door opened to reveal a breathtakingly beautiful boy, with blonde hair and silver earrings. He waved to Taehyung, and the latter's mouth fell open.
Jimin had dyed his hair.
Blonde suited him even better than silver, making his whole aura change. Taehyung never thought the older could become any more attractive, but here he was, blonde hair shining in the sunlight coming in through the windows, making him glow.
He sat down on the seat opposite Taehyung's, who was still gaping at him. He chuckled slightly and shut the younger boy's mouth.
"How do I look?" He asked, running a hand through his hair, pushing them back from his forehead.
"Beautiful." Taehyung breathed out.
Jimin blushed and playfully hit his arm, making Taehyung laugh.
While they were talking, the waitress came over to take their order. She caught Taehyung's eye and winked. Jimin noticed it and felt his blood boil. He ignored it as she walked away, swinging her hips.
"Why're they all like this?" He muttered to himself.
"Sorry? Did you say something?" Taehyung asked.
"Ah, no. Nothing."
The two talked about little things and bickered playfully as they waited for their order to arrive. The waitress came back, their order in her hands, and her skirt visibly hitched up. Taehyung eyed her, his expression unreadable. Jimin pursed his lips shut and looked away.
Neither of the two looked at her as she left, both of them busy in their talks once again. Taehyung amused Jimin with some more of Seokjin's dad jokes; he was perhaps the only one who ever laughed at them, however lame they might be.
They finished eating and paid for the meal, and then decided to take a walk along the Han River.
The sun was setting, casting a pinkish-orange glow over the sky, which the river's water reflected. A soft breeze blew, ruffling their hair as they walked along the riverbank, Taehyung's arm wrapped around Jimin's waist. It looked like a scene right out of a painting, nature's loving strokes painting even the cemented city into a work so beautiful that words didn't feel enough to describe it.
The younger boy stopped abruptly and turned to face Jimin, taking the boy's hands in his own.
"Jimin," he began, looking at the boy straight in the eyes, trying not to stutter; yet his shuffling feet gave away his nervousness. "Will you..."
He paused for a moment, searching the older's eyes for emotions, willing his confidence to come back to him. He took a deep breath and continued, "Will you go out with me?"
Jimin looked at Taehyung for a few seconds, not believing his ears, letting it sink in, feeling the happiness slowly course through his body and making his heart leap.
Kim Taehyung had just asked him out.
"Yes!" He said happily, jumping into Taehyung's embrace, who spun him around once before setting him down, grinning from ear to ear.
It was a perfect moment, so beautiful, so happy; the pretty, glowing sky and the glimmering water capping it all. To Taehyung, it wasn't just a moment, it was an eternity. Because such moments, so short, so sweet, last for a small time, yet forever. For we hold onto them, cherishing them for as long as we live, as long as we love. And Kim Taehyung loved Park Jimin.

The next day, Taehyung made his way through the deserted school corridors with his teammate and friend, Hwayeong. Football practice had just finished and Taehyung wanted nothing more than to go home and sleep.
"So, are you and that Jimin guy a thing?" Hwayeong asked as they neared the front door, eyeing Taehyung suspiciously.
"What do you mean?" Taehyung asked him, trying to keep the panic out of his voice. Hwayeong was homophobic.
"Well, you're both very touchy and shit. Looks gay."
"Don't you hug me whenever we meet?" Taehyung fired at him.
"Yeah, but it's short, and manly. Not the touchy gay shit. Gross," He said, making a face. "And I do mention 'No homo, bro' every. single. time."
He folded his arms against his chest, trying to look proud of himself, as if that settled the matter. He paused for a moment, eyeing Taehyung, and continued, disgust lacing his voice. "Don't tell me you're gay."
"No, I'm not," Taehyung said, trying his best to sound confident.
"What about that nerd?"
"He's not a nerd, he just has the ability to get good grades without studying. And teachers end up liking him more than he wants them to."
"Sticking up for your boyfriend, I see."
Hwayeong then muttered something that sounded very much like faggots.
"He's not my boyfriend and I'm not sticking up for him! We aren't even dating for god's sake!" Taehyung shouted, feeling anger rushing through him. "I fucking told you, I'm not gay! You've seen all the girlfriends I've ever had. What do I care about somebody like him?" Taehyung paused, trying to calm himself down.
No matter what, he shouldn't bad mouth Jimin. He'd just nearly done that, and it made him feel sick. But Hwayeong didn't seem convinced, and Taehyung couldn't put up with his homophobic insults all year. Heck, he'd tell the rest of the team, and probably the whole school too. More than half of the people would be after his life if that happened.
A small part of his brain kept telling him not to do it, but Taehyung, steeling himself, spoke again.
'It's only to convince Hwayeong,' he thought to himself. 'Jimin would never know. It's only to get this idiot off our case.'
"I don't give a shit about that Park Jimin and his gay or not ass. Honestly, I wouldn't even bother with him if he wasn't my brother's friend. As for the hugs, he just does it, okay? I can't help it. It's hard to say no everytime when someone keeps doing it. You've got to get used to such small stuff. Get it in your head, we're not a thing and I only like girls."
"Chill dude, I was only pulling your leg. We've been friends for so long, I never doubted you once," Hwayeong said, raising his arms up in defence.
"Suree," Taehyung said, remembering Hwayeong's suspicious expressions all too well.
If Taehyung hadn't been so busy fuming over Hwayeong, he might've heard footsteps and sobs, because Jimin had been standing outside the front doors the whole time, waiting for Taehyung to finish practice and walk home with him.
His heart shattering with every word that left Taehyung's mouth, Jimin had run away, crying, unable to take it anymore.
