Chapter 5 (Sorry for the wait...)

PERCY'S POV

Percy walked over to Nico and grabbed his hand, little sparks shooting through his hand as he did so. Nico just had that effect on him.

They'd IMed Hades earlier and gotten their destination. They were going to be staying at a place called 221 B Baker Street Hotel (I had to). Nico and Percy were both extremely excited because they were both Sherlockians.

"Ready?" Percy heard Nico say. Percy swallowed and gave a slight nod. Although it was useful, Percy wasn't a big fan of shadow-traveling. It made him shadow-sick.

Suddenly, darkness was being pressed on the edges of his vision as he traveled through the world. It was amazing yet horrible feeling.

The feeling of wind whistling painfully in his ears was so intense it made him cringe. On top of that, his stomach wasn't a huge fan of this way of travel.

Suddenly, they landed. Percy leaned on Nico for support, and vise versa.

"We should probably go to our hotel," Percy said blearily. He was hardly aware of Nico's exhausted nod.

Percy and Nico walked down the streets of London because Nico had over calculated the distance and they'd gone too far. Percy was too exhausted to take in the sights of London, and he knew Nico must've been more so.

"Were here," Nico mumbled in exhaustion. He walked through the sliding glass doors and gasped.

Inside was a rainforest like exhibit, with parrots and even a flamingo. All the animals were living; chirping and squawking away. Percy found it beautiful.

"Wow," Nico whispered beside him. Percy smiled.

"Good thing I saved your life!" Percy said, nudging Nico. Nico blushed.

"Ah, welcome to the 221 B Baker Street Hotel! Named after the series, Sherlock! How can I help you today?" Percy and Nico spun around and saw a man standing there in a suit and tie. So it was named after Sherlock...

"Um, yes. We're checking in," Percy responded. The man smiled.

"Right this way," he said, his accent thick. Percy felt a worm of excitement in his belly. They were actually in London! England! He couldn't even think of how long he'd wanted to be at this moment right then. Nico made it even better.

Percy found himself smiling. Nico's appearance alone made his life so much better. The nervousness, the fear, the confusion he'd felt during his developing crush on Nico was now just a distant memory. Now when he was around Nico he wasn't afraid; instead he felt brave and strong and especially loved. Nico was just so amazing and he couldn't believe he had him in his life.

"Hey, Perce? You alright?" Nico asked, looking at Percy curiously. Percy smiled and nodded.

"Yeah," he said. "Yeah, I'm great. I was just thinking."

"What about?" Nico pestered.

"You," Percy said, and kissed Nico's forehead. His boyfriend blushed and Percy smiled.

"Come on," Nico said, nudging Percy, "let's not keep our friend over there waiting." Percy glanced ahead and saw that the man who was helping them earlier was waiting patiently about twenty feet in front of them. Percy and Nico jogged over to him, and he gave them an understanding smile.

"Alright. The front desk is straight ahead. My name is John if you need anything." Suddenly, there was a tense silence. Percy looked over at Nico and saw fear in his eyes.

"I knew I knew you," Nico whispered and took a step closer. "Your name is John, correct?" John nodded.

"I'm, yes sir. I don't believe we have met before..." John said, thinking.

"Oh yes we have. You know why?" Nico asked, his voice dangerously calm. John shook his head.

"You drowned my best friend, Blake Lazzerous."
