PERCY'S POV

"Percy, where are we going? I can't see a dam thing!" Nico complained.

"Hey! You weren't with us when we went to the dam. You don't get a right to use that inside joke."

Nico managed to stick out is tongue at Percy even though he was blindfolded. Percy couldn't resist a laugh.

"Stop, you look like that cat on YouTube. The one that always has its tongue sticking out," Percy laughed. Nico blushed and put his tongue back in his mouth.

"Really, where are we going?" Nico complained.

"Well, first we're going to my friend Misty's house, then the rest is a surprise," Percy said with a wink, even though he knew Nico wouldn't be able to see. Nico let out a frustrated sigh.

"Fine, but we better not be going to the beach again. Destiny could strike again," Nico grumbled. Percy quickly silenced him.

"Hush! Names have power," Percy said, his eyes glittering. Nico laughed.

"What is this, Harry Potter?" Nico said.

"I wish we were that cool," Percy grumbled angrily, "but all we can do is have stupid pow-" Percy broke off with a gasp as Nico punched him in the stomach very hard. "What was that for?" Percy wheezed. Nico grabbed Percy and leaned in close to his ear.

"We're in public, Fishface!" Nico hissed. "Keep your voice down!"

Percy glanced nervously at the taxi driver, but he didn't seem interested in their conversation. He let out a sigh of relief.

"I don't think he heard anything, but we'd best be careful. And- oh, we're at Misty's," Percy chirped. "Stay here, I'll be right back!" Percy hopped out of the car with the kittens and told the taxi driver to stay. He raced up to the front door and gave it a quick knock. It was a few moments before the door opened, but when it did, Misty appeared.

"Oi, I wasn't expecting to see you for awhile longer. Please, come in!" Percy walked inside her flat and was surprised at how tiny it was. There was a small coffee table, a couch, and a T.V. In the next room, there was a small kitchen and a flight of stairs, no doubt leading to her bedroom.

"I'm terribly sorry for the mess. Like I said, I wasn't expecting you for another hour or two," Misty apologized. Percy waved her off.

"Nah, it's fine. If anything, it's my fault for being so early! But anyways, thank you so much for taking the kittens. Nico and I just really need an evening to ourselves. It is our last night in London after all," Percy explained. Misty nodded in understanding.

"Of course," she said. "Well, you'd best be going then. Don't worry, I think Tinker will get along just fine with these two. He loves other cats."

Percy smiled. "Ah, that's good. We'll pick them up around 8. Is that okay?" he asked. Misty smiled, and they exchanged a farewell before she shooed him out the door.

Percy jogged out of the flat and closed the front door behind him before running up to the taxi. He opened the door and slipped inside.

"Thank you," Percy said to the taxi driver. The man smiled at them in the rearview mirror. Then, he took off.

"How much longer until we're there?" Nico asked.

"About 10 more minutes," the taxi driver answered. Nico nodded then sat back in his seat. Percy looked out the window and admired the amazing views London had to offer.

Within 10 minutes, like the cabbie had predicted, they arrived at their destination. Percy grabbed the things they would need then helped Nico out of the cab. Percy thanked the driver and handed him the money.

Percy entwined Nico's hand with his as they walked. The sun was just beginning to sink gently into the horizon, sending orange glows through the buildings. Cold wind whispered through the valley as they walked, causing Percy to grip Nico's hand tighter. The green grass swished as they walked, and the small lake gurgled as water lapped gently at the banks.

"Wait here for a sec," Percy said, letting go of his boyfriend's hand. He set down the blankets and the basket, as well as the gift he had prepared for Nico. Then he gently led his boyfriend over to their picnic spot and took off his blindfold.

"Voila! Here's your surprise, Neeks," Percy said softly. He watched as Nico's deep brown eyes lit up with excitement and wonder at the scene in front of him. He turned to Percy, a wide smile lighting up his face.

"Oh Percy, thank you!" he squealed and wrapped his arms around Percy like a child. Percy smiled softly and pulled Nico in close to him.

"I love you," Percy murmured gently. Nico pulled back, his chocolate eyes glowing with a fierce desire.

"I love you too," Nico said before burying his face into Percy's chest. They embraced for awhile, until Percy gently took a step back to look at Nico.

"Come on, let's eat," Percy said. Nico laughed.

"Of course the only thing on your mind is food!" Nico chuckled.

"Normally it's you," Percy said smoothly as he sat down. Nico blushed but sat down next to Percy on the blanket.

Percy pulled out a chocolate chip cookie and handed it to Nico. "Here, I know these are your favorite," Percy said softly. Nico took the cookie and nibbled on it.

"Wow, Perce, these are really good! Are you sure you made these?" Nico laughed. Percy rolled his eyes.

"Yeah, I made something. Out of love. And a want for chocolate chip cookies, but mostly out of love." Nico smiled and pecked Percy on the cheek. Percy felt love for Nico wash over him like a wave.

They sat like that for a long time, watching the ducks tread through the water. Soon, when the sun began to sink into the horizon, Percy went through the basket one more time. He grabbed a piece of paper and handed it to Nico. Nico's eyes widened in surprise.

"For me? But, Percy, you've already done so much for me with this picnic and the kittens..." Nico protested. Percy held up a hand.

"You've done more for me in the last month than I can ever return, just by being my boyfriend. Now, read it."

Nico opened the piece of paper, and began to read.
