( twenty-seven. )
June opened her front door, her arms wrapped around JJs waist as she closed the door behind her. They made their way up the stairs, not caring about noise as much because her parents car was missing from the drive way. She soon remembered that her parents were going to the mainland for a week for her dads business. Things had gotten so crazy that she just forgot about the big trip. Weeks ago she was planning a party but it didn't really seem to be in the plans anymore. She had bigger fish to fry.
June opened the bedroom door, sitting on the edge of her bed, JJ following behind her. She laid back, resting her head on the pillow, but he just stayed put. He was staring right ahead of him, looking emotionally drained and lost in thought.
"Come here." She said, holding her arms out to him. He nodded, putting his head on her chest as she wrapped her arms around his head, running her fingers through his hair. He balled her shirt into his hands and buried his face further into her. This was pure comfort like this. He still seemed to be crying softly, his dad really doing a number on him. June's heart was breaking for him, it was worse than she'd thought. After awhile June could only hear light snores and she pulled back, smiling at him. She ran her fingers through his hair again as she pressed a kiss to his lips. He was so peaceful in his sleep, you wouldn't even know that he had spent the last few hours crying. She felt a swelling in her heart as she looked at him. She knew what it was but she also knew it was too early to say it. But she couldn't hold it in. She pushed another hair out of his face, taking him in before spitting out the words she'd been dying to say.
"I think I love you JJ." She said. The relief washed over her as she finally said it out loud. She had thought about it since their first night together, even though it was early and it was too still early now. But she just knew what she felt, and no matter what she couldn't hold it back anymore. She was beyond sure, she had never felt this way with Zach, which shed a light into her whole previous relationship. He was always on her mind, when they weren't around each other she was thinking of the next time she would be with him. She didn't really understand the feeling of falling for JJ but it made her want more.
"What?" JJ asked, stirring and peeking his eyes open. June pressed a kiss to the top of his head before shaking her own.
"Nothing." She said as they looked at each other. He smiled sleepily, closing his eyes again to try and drift back into sleep. He thought he had heard her, maybe in his sleep but he was so unsure if he had actually heard her talk or if he was just imagining things. June still couldn't sleep as he snuggled into her chest some more, so she just laid there and admired him, wondering what had happened between him and his dad. She pulled the blanket over the both of them, closing her eyes and resting her head above JJs. June soon drifted to sleep herself, her mind never straying from the thought of JJ.
:::
June awoke the next morning with JJ still resting his head on her chest, his chest riding and falling with rhythmic breaths as he slept. She laid there for a moment longer before deciding to get ready, they had a lot to do today. She tried to get up from the bed without waking him but she wasn't very successful as she saw him start to move. She walked to the closet, grabbing clothes out of it and then turning back to look at JJ. He was turned over now, watching as she got dressed with a small grin on his face.
"Good morning sunshine." June said, walking over and pressing a kiss to his lips. He returned it, his lips upturned as he reached to grab her face. They stayed like that for a moment longer before JJ grabbed her, flipping her onto the bed. He hovered over her, the grin on his face growing as he looked down at her. She raised her eyebrows at him, reaching up to run a hand over his chest, looking at the bruises there. JJ grabbed her hand, pulling it away from the bruises and instead to his lips, kissing the back of it.
"Do we have to go?" June asked, whining as JJ looked down at her. He chuckled, dropping down onto her and grabbing her hips. June groaned again as he laid on her, his full weight crushing her. JJ just laughed at that.
"Yes. I think we do. Even though I'd rather just stay here all day with you. In this bed." JJ said, looking up at her, sitting his chin on her stomach. She ran her thumb over his bottom lip before sending him a wide smile.
"I feel like maybe...just maybe we can skip. Just once. Or at least just wait until later. When they actually need us." June exaggerated the last sentence, pulling him up from her stomach to lay down beside her, her now sitting over him.
"We hav-" June silenced him by kissing him, putting her hands in his hair as he accepted the kiss. She pulled back moments later, a smile playing in her lips as he whined.
"I know we have to. Just wish I could spend all day with you. Alone." June bit her lip at that, brushing his hair out of his eyes. They just stayed looking at each other for a few more moments, before June finally looked away. She crawled over him and off of the bed, finishing getting dressed. He finally got up, pulling his shirt on. June met him once again, pushing herself against him with a grin. Her grin soon turned into a disgusted look as she backed away.
"What?" JJ asked, trying to pull her back.
"You fucking stink." June said, chuckling as she covered her nose.
"Well I don't really have any clothes here." JJ defended.
"Yeah but I have this thing called a shower." June said, opening the bedroom door. She walked into the hallway, JJ following suit as she pulled open a closet and grabbed a towel, pushing it into his arms. He sent her a smile before heading towards the bathroom. She heard the shower cut on and made her way into her brothers room. Adam and JJ were roughly the same size. June pulled his closet open and grabbing a white tank top and a pair of shorts out for him. Adam wouldn't miss them she was sure. She took one last look around the room before closing the door behind her. She and her brother had always been close, probably because Adam was nothing like any of the other top Kook boys. He was actually different.
June knocked in the bathroom door, a high pitched 'come in!' being heard from inside. June laughed at that, turning the door handle and making her way into the bathroom. She covered her eyes with her hand, setting the clothes down onto the bathroom counter.
"I got you some clothes." June said, turning away to leave the bathroom, eyes still covered. She tripped over the toilet, falling onto the bath rug.
"Shit!" She said, dread in her chest as she laid against the floor. She pushed herself up, rolling her eyes at the sound of JJs incessant cackling coming from inside the shower.
"Hurry the fuck up loser." June said, pushing herself up and rubbing her arm .
"I don't know why you're covering your eyes like you don't wanna see this ass again." JJ asked, furrowing his eyebrows at the girl who was now sitting on the toilet cover, still rubbing her arm with her eyes closed. "And you called me a loser, which makes no sense because you're the one who just tripped over a toilet." He laughed again, unable to stop for a good few minutes. June huffed, shaking her head with her eyes closed.
"Fuck you."
"You forgot the 'I want to' in front of that. " JJ let out, continuing to laugh. June couldn't help but giggle at that one, a smile replacing her grimace.
"You're an ass JJ." She said, standing from her seat on the toilet and feeling her way towards the door. She closed it behind her and made her way to her room, sitting at her vanity and fixing her hair. JJ walked sun moments later, a towel wrapped around his waist as he threw the clothes she had given him on the bed.
"Holy shit." June said, her eyes widening as she looked at his reflection in the mirror. She bit her lip, dropping her head into her hands as her cheeks turned a bright red. JJ looked over at her, a mischievous smirk playing on his lips as he noticed how flustered she looked.
"You like what you see?" JJ said, dropping his towel and pulling on his clothes. He wake sober when he was dressed and tapped her on the shoulder. She lifted her head, turning to look at JJ who was smirking down at her. "Aw you're blushing Carly. So cute." JJ said, poking her cheeks. She slapped his hands away, standing up and pushing past him towards the bedroom door. She opened it quickly making her way down the stairs and into the kitchen to grab some food. JJ stayed however, sitting in the vanity chair and looking over his cuts and bruises. June made some food, pulling some plates out of the cabinet and making two, putting them on the table and looking around for JJ.
"JJ!" June yelled when she realized he wasn't down there yet.
"Coming dear!" He yelled in a high pitched voice from upstairs. She sat at the table sipping at her glass of orange juice as she watched him approach. He smiled at the food, his stomach grumbling as he hurried to the table.
"We've been doing so much I forgot about eating." JJ said, shoveling the food into his mouth. June nodded, doing the same but with a smile. When they finished eating JJ took the dishes to the sink, rinsing them off. June walked up behind him, wrapping her arms around his waist and kissing his shoulder.
"I think it's time to go." June said as he turned around to look at her. He shook his head, leaning down to kiss her. June pulled back, her hand on his cheek as she ran a finger over his bottom lip.
"I love when you do that." JJ said, trying to change the subject.
"JJ we gotta go." June smiled at him as she backed away, grabbing her keys from the counter and jingling them in JJs face. He groaned one more time before following her out the door.
"I wonder how John Bs fishing trip with Ward went."
