Today I met my parents Sophie and Henry. I tried super hard to have Jack come with me, but the nurse said once we leave we can meet each other's families.

The first few minutes I was just reciting their names, putting emphasis on different letters each time. I liked how they sounded coming out of my mouth.

My mom, Sophie, spoke up in a chuckle saying I got my dorkiness from my dad.

I'm not a dork!

I asked them why Bailey wasn't here and they told me she has work to get done.

Then I asked if my dad, Henry, if he was actually the super geek mega dork Bailey said he was. He faked mad and was all "I can't believe my only daughter would say these things about me!" and both me and my mom Sophie laughed.

They looked relaxed that I laughed when they joked.

They asked me about Jack at the same time, which I think was on accident. I told them all I know, because Jack is my favorite subject. I noticed however, when I got to the part of Ryan's name they tensed up. It definetly wasn't because he was transgender, I said that before, it was the name.

I tried to ask but they told me they couldn't say. I wasn't going to turn this into an angry exchange, so I pinched myself as Liner once taught me and let go of it.

I asked how long it's been in here and they told me a little over ten months. That's honestly longer than I thought. They said it was a few weeks after my birthday. I remember, faintly, but I remember thinking it was August when I first got here. Maybe time goes faster when you don't know what reality is. Days were hazy so I wouldn't doubt it.

They informed me on Bailey, some stuff I did know, some stuff I didn't. Bailey was two years younger than me, now I know this.

Before leaving Sophie and Henry told me that they love me and that they were proud of me. They haven't seen me this clearly since I was nineteen. I told them I'll try my hardest to stay like this.
