5. Desperate

{Present}

Again. That night, you left me embarrassed again. You are so good at lying, why couldn't you lie that night to them? Are those lies meant for me only?

Author's POV-

Three influential companies were having a meeting. All the people, Jung Minji, the vice-chairman and Jung Yuri, the CEO of Jung Corporations, along with Min Yoongi, the CEO of Mins Inc. and Park Jimin, vice-chairman of Park Estates, along with their head employees sat formally around a huge glass conference table.

The meeting was held in Jung's building. All the young businesspersons and achievers were prepared with their presentations and were ready to share their forward thoughts and ideas.

Jung Hoseok, the Chairman of Jung Corporation sat beside Yuri. Yuri held a huge share and the CEO's job. She helped the Jungs to overcome the crisis that they faced 2 years ago. Her strategic marketing skills led to the power she holds now.

The meeting started energetically, with the companies proposing their views and ideas.

But amid professionalism, the concentration of someone was solely on the figure seated beside Hoseok. No one other than President Park. The way he missed every single detail of the meeting, concerned his secretary to hell.

"Jimin!" Taehyung shook him slightly to snap him out of sight of Yuri, and back to the presentation.

He slightly looked at his secretary. His look clearly said, 'Don't disturb me.'

But he was the most important person from Parks present there. He is the first person to be praised or defamed for the achievements or failures of their project Park Estate respectively by the world.

It was a second that he was snapped back to reality, realizing the weight of responsibilities his shoulders carried. He couldn't disappoint no one else, but himself by letting him get carried away by his emotions, forgetting his duties. He has already ditched his responsibilities enough, but not anymore.

His thoughts were interrupted by his favorite voice, Yuri's. She stood up elegantly and continued for her speech. And once again, Jimin was lost. He forgot the actual purpose she was speaking about and forgot that he had to make a deal with Jungs.

Months ago, when he found out that Jung Yuri was Kim Yuri, he went berserk. Every single second felt hard for him to spend. She was finally going to appear in his life again, maybe no longer in the same way, but still, he couldn't resist the exploding feelings in his heart at the thought of seeing her.

He never expected Yuri to attend that event which was solely held for him and his fiancée. Seeing her there, he felt overwhelmed and did what he felt was right.

With a great round of applause, was the end of Yuri's presentation.

Hoseok cast a firm gaze on Jimin, impressed by the work of his employees. But he sensed something wrong with Jimin, as he didn't seem to pay any attention.

"Mr. Park." He called out, and Jimin immediately realized the reality.

He maintained his composure and averted his gaze on Hoseok waiting for him to continue further.

"The ideas are so forward. I am so impressed with the presentation."

"And Mr. Min, the efforts are crystal clear with the delivery of each topic. Our partnership will surely lead this year's market."

Hoseok's remarks brightened the faces of tensed employees.

They discussed a few more conditions regarding the project and the meeting was soon dismissed.

It was time for everyone to leave. Jimin did his best to find excuses to stay some more time in the company as he wanted to complete his incomplete conversation with Yuri.

He came up with the lamest ones, but his secretary always ruined them, providing solid reasons for them to leave. He knew it wasn't right for Jimin to stay there. But Jimin was desperate to meet Yuri.

Hoseok accompanied them to the exit.

{FLASHBACK -3 YEARS AGO-}

Yuri's POV-

I was preparing to sleep as it was already late at night. While applying the moisturizer, my eyes landed on the ring on my finger.

My fingers unconsciously touched it as I blushed unknowingly recalling today's events.

Today wasn't the engagement day! That was yesterday. Today, Jimin took me out on a romantic date. This was the third time we went on a date in the past two weeks since the day he confessed.

Jimin said those three words aloud. 'I like you ' And I swear butterflies started to have damn sex inside my stomach.

Ever since that day, he has been so sweet to me. Getting close to him, I realized just how soft he was, very unlike what he tried to show himself those two weeks. And lord, I can never get used to his cheesy lines. His flirty side is something hard to deal with.

It was all so sudden that when I think about it, I realize just how weird it was. His confession.

And yesterday, we finally kissed. It's not like I had never kissed anyone before. I had my first kiss in my high school already. But with Jimin, it felt so unreal. Like I never wanted it to end. Those juicy, plump lips are something I crave every minute ever since I tasted them.

Jimin may have acted like an asshole those three weeks, but the truth that his coldness never overshadowed his manners, was undeniable.

He genuinely likes me, which he never did for anyone else, as for what he said.

I snapped out of my thoughts as I saw my phone buzzing. A small smile crept its way to my face as the caller ID came into my vision.

I quickly picked up, excited like a teen girl.

"Hello!" I said loudly, all my sleepiness vanishing already. I heard a sweet chuckle from the other side. "I guess thoughts about me aren't letting you sleep."

I started blushing. Strange. How he made my heart flutter with that small line.

I unknowingly glanced at the clock. Past twelve. He was right. By this time, I would be sleeping already. But he is the one to blame that I am not sleeping early these days. The past three days were extremely busy for both of us including the engagement ceremony.

"I was about to, but you called," I replied pouting a bit.

"Oh, if that's the case, then I am sorry." I heard him replying.

"No that's not the case. Anyway, why did you call?" And I instantly regretted my tone of asking.

"I wanted to let you know that there is a business party in Singapore over morrow's evening. I wanted you to come with me so I could introduce my fiancée to everyone out there."

The first thought in my mind was relief that he didn't mind my tone. And second, excitement.

"Besides these days were extremely exhausting. Let's have a peaceful holiday of four days there without any disturbance," he said. And I didn't fail to notice his notorious hint in the way of speaking.

That night, the excitement didn't let me sleep. The night went by quickly and as the morning arrived, I quickly got up from my bed to have a nice shower and got ready. Jimin picked me up at 8 and we arrived at the airport pretty quickly.

We boarded our plane, which was at 10:30. The business class was in slight chaos as the passengers were still boarding, while Jimin had gone to use the restroom. I sat on the window seat. It was my favorite.

A couple of minutes passed while I was looking at my phone's screen until I felt someone sitting on the seat beside me.

Thinking it must be Jimin, I started to speak, "Jimin, since the party starts at 7:00, why don't we-"

My words paused as I looked over the man beside me. The fact that he wasn't Jimin made me a little flustered and embarrassed.

"Oh sorry! I thought of you as somebody else." I said smiling awkwardly.

He flashed me a smile and his cute bunny teeth came into my vision. "It's okay miss. I don't mind."

He had a large body but a small bunny face, making him look adorable. I wanted to talk more; he was so polite. But before I could, a stern voice intervened in the friendly environment.

"Excuse me, it's my seat."

I looked up, only to meet two pairs of cold eyes glaring at the man beside me.

"Oh? I am sorry." The man said while getting up and bowing slightly, before taking the seat next to Jimin's seat, as it was his.

Wherein, Jimin who glared sharply at the poor man ignored him and sat beside me. He looked pissed. Ugh, now what's wrong?

"By the way, what is your name?" I asked the man and Jimin's head shot in my direction, his expression was like he didn't at all expect me to do that.

The man beamed a small smile at me before replying, "My name is Jeon Jungkook. Nice to meet you. And you are?"

"Kim Yuri," I said shaking my hands with him. From the corner of my eyes, I saw Jimin digging holes through his eyes looking at our hands, which were intertwined in a handshake. Only if eyes could kill, that cute man Jungkook would have been dead by now.

The announcement for the take-off of the flight had already started until it finally took off.

During the whole journey of 6 and a half hours, Jimin did not utter a word, just glared at Jungkook, when we talked. Seeing Jimin jealous was funny. He looked cute but dangerous at the same time with those killer eyes.

Now it was 4:30 already and we were walking through the airport, heading towards the car to go straight to the hotel where we were staying, while Jimin's driver carried the luggage.

Jimin was walking way too fast while I was having a hard time keeping up with his pace. His face was frosty cold, and his mouth did not bother to speak any word to me for 6 hours straight.

I was too tired to ask him about what happened to him. So, I let the things be as they were and thought we'd resolve them once we reached the hotel.
