14. Fiancée's Forgiveness
Yuri noticed he looked tired as if he didn't have enough sleep. She held his arms, pulling him to the table she was sitting at, and handing him a glass of water. Jimin smiled before gulping the water.
"You have an amazing talent!" Yuri said, her mind replaying the scene that unfolded a few minutes ago. She was unlikely to praise someone so much, but she felt the need to make Jimin realize how good he was and how much she liked it.
Jimin laughed. "It's been years since I last danced or sang."
Yuri lifted her brows in amusement. "Really? But you seemed like a passionate dancer who practices every day with dedication." Yuri said as the pictures of his graceful movements came into her mind.
"It was. I used to be passionate about it in my teens." Jimin said.
"Oh, then why did you stop dancing then?" Yuri asked, seeming to be very curious. Jimin laughed it off. "I don't get any time. Neither I was motivated for it."
"Oh, that's sad." Yuri let out, feeling genuinely bad that he had to give up on his passions.
Jimin gazed at her lovingly, taking hold of her hands, gently moving his thumb on her hands. "Thank you so much, Yuri. Because of you only, I was able to dance so happily, just the way I once did."
"Because of me? Means it was to make up." Yuri asked and the corner of her lips tugged upwards in a teasing manner. "It was," Jimin replied.
Laughing, Yuri said, "Then you should thank yourself, Mr. Park. If you wouldn't fight with me, then this day wouldn't be possible, for you to try to impress me with your talent."
Soon, her laughter died down and her eyes widened slightly at the sudden realization. "Wait! Why did Hana say that I have a meeting? You people tricked me?"
Jimin chuckled at her cute angry face. "Had she said that Jimin wants to meet you, would you even come?"
Yuri scoffed. "Does that mean I shall be lied to? And that Hana, how dare she lie to me?"
"You are seriously getting angry about such a petty thing? It was meant to be a surprise." Jimin said.
A small pout appeared unknowingly at her lips, realizing it was ungrateful of her to bring that up. Her act made Jimin look at her lips, and he didn't waste even a second to lean forward and give a peck on her cheek, right beside her lips.
As he retreated, Yuri's flushed face came into his view, making him smile widely. But her next actions made him breathless as she suddenly leaned forward, keeping both of her hands on his shoulders, pressing a kiss over his plump, kissable lips. And he didn't take a second to respond to her brave actions.
They both felt as if all the sleeping butterflies had come to life. After so long of feeling nearly dead, they felt as if the spark of feeling of being alive set their whole body ablaze.
Yuri broke the kiss, her face crimson. Jimin smiled at her. "Was it a reward?"
"You can say that," Yuri said, playing along with his tease, and they both ended up giggling.
"But I need something else as my reward." He said, taking both of her hands in his.
"What does Park Jimin need from his fiancée?" Yuri said teasingly, having a completely different idea.
"Park Jimin wants his fiancée's forgiveness. He is sorry for giving her a hard time and has sworn not to ever ignore her feelings."
Yuri's smile wavered. "Don't spoil the vibe."
Jimin sighed. "I didn't intend to, but my heart needs reassurance. It needs to calm down."
Yuri sighed, but her mind planned mischievous ways to give him a bit of a hard time. "Forgiveness? You did this all for my forgiveness only?"
Jimin felt the nerves as Yuri's words and expressions made him uneasy. Yuri held back a smile at his nervous expressions.
"No! I mean yes! I mean-" He was cut short as Yuri couldn't help it anymore and busted into fits of laughter.
"You are cute!" She said in mid of her laughter.
Jimin's heart eased, realizing she was playing. "You are such a tease."
The day was filled with the laughter of joy and the echo of happiness in their hearts. Jimin spent the whole day with Yuri, and she couldn't be happier about it. She finally felt so happy, after so long.
It was the evening already, and Jimin dropped Yuri home. "Thank you once again, Jimin. Today was amazing." She said as she unbuckled her seat belt.
Jimin passed a mischievous smile. "I prefer actions over words."
And it didn't take too long for Yuri to understand what he meant. Letting out a chuckle, she leaned forward to press her lips on his. Jimin was amused, not expecting her to take the initiative.
She retreated, looking at him, a huge smile gracing her lips. "Bye." She spoke before quickly getting out of his car. She turned around, waving at him till he was out of her sight. She happily skipped into her house.
"Well, well! You look so extra happy today." Hearing Sunwoo's voice, she turned around to find him leaning against wall with a teasing smile dancing on his face. "You know your smile can reach your ears at this point." He added, approaching her, embarrassing her further. She rolled her eyes at him.
"You are too unpredictable. One minute you are grumpy and the other you are skipping around like child. Lord, have mercy on Park Jimin! Poor guy is going to have the toughest times of his life." He said acting dramatic as her ruffled her hairs, annoying her even more.
"Yah! Stop!" She said jerking his hands away and brushing her hair with her fingers. "Shall I tell Minji that you had a date with your employee?" She said, a mischievous smile playing on her lips. She was well aware that her brother liked her best friend.
Sunwoo's eyes widened upon hearing it. "What? You talked to Minji?"
And then it hit Yuri that she didn't tell Sunwoo yet, about Minji. "Oh, yes. I forgot to tell you. She messaged me when I was in Singapore."
"And you are telling me now?" Sunwoo said, crossing his arms over his chest.
Yuri gave him a sheepish smile. "I told you that I forgot."
Sunwoo teased her. "You are drowning in the thoughts of Park Jimin the whole day. It was obvious that you forgot."
She huffed, before dashing towards her room.
"And yes, that wasn't a date. Don't make a fuss about it to her, you silly girl! " He yelled for her to listen.
He heard loud laughter coming from her room as she shouted back. "I will definitely do that."
Sunwoo smiled widely. It had been so long since he saw her happy like that.
A week had passed, a week of everything running smoothly. Jimin and Yuri often met in parks, restaurants, or at Jimin's place or office. Yuri seemed unwilling to keep him out of her mind, even for a second. All she thought was about him, let alone the number of opportunities she sought to meet him.
Just as she was playing with the pen in her hand, lost in another world, she got a phone call. She excitedly answered it when she saw Jimin's name being displayed.
"Hello!" Her voice was sweet and gentle, with a smile tugging at her lips.
"Hey! What are you doing?" Jimin spoke, the gentleness in his voice immediately eased her heart.
"Work," She replied.
"Work of missing me?" He said, his tone now flirty.
"God!" She exclaimed, giggling loudly.
"Would you come with me to my home, today in the evening?"
Her smile widened. "Why so suddenly? Anything special?"
"Yes," He started, with playfulness in his tone, "Every moment with you is special."
"Whatever you say," She giggled at his cheesy line. "So, when shall I come?"
"I'll pick you up," He said, "Be ready at 6 pm."
With that being said, the phone call ended, leaving an excited Yuri in her seat, already having imagined all the possible scenarios there.
The whole day went by with Yuri being lost in her thoughts. Hana had been standing before her boss for almost five minutes, but she didn't seem to be mentally present. Sighing, Hana waved her hands one last time in front of Yuri before she ran thin with patience. Making an annoyed face, she opened her phone and set loud music on it, placing it near Yuri's ear.
"Lord, please send me to heaven if I die today." She muttered under her breath before clicking the 'play' button. Yuri jumped in her seat, letting out a scream of fear and clenching her chest tightly. It took a few seconds for her to calm down and understand what happened.
Then, she glared up at Hana, who had pursed her lips thinly, controlling herself from laughing.
"Have you gone crazy?" Yuri scolded Hana, returning to her previous position.
"What? If I had not reminded you, you'd be late and would scold me later." Hana defended herself.
Yuri's eyes, now wide, shot towards the clock. A relieved expression clouded her face as soon as she saw it was only 5:55 pm. "Oh god!" Yuri hurriedly got off her seat and started to pack her belongings.
"Now, thank me," Hana said proudly, expecting an appreciation.
Yuri ignored her words and rushed out of the door.
Hana made a done face, sighing and returning to her work. "Such an ungrateful couple."
Yuri walked fast, knowing only a mere minute left. She was well aware of Jimin's punctuality, and how he expected people around him to be the same. While Yuri was the opposite.
She finally reached the parking area to see Jimin's car already there. "Jeez," she muttered before skipping to his car. She opened the door and got inside.
Jimin was a little startled, as he was talking to someone on the phone. But as soon as he saw her, a warm smile tugged at his lips, and he hung up the call.
"You are here." He leaned forward, planting a kiss at the corner of her lips.
She froze momentarily, feeling tingling sensations in her guts. As he retreated, she finally came to her senses. The corner of her lips tugged upwards, and she tried hard not to blush.
"Yuri?" Jimin broke the silence in the car as they rode towards Jimin's house.
"Hmm?" Yuri responded.
"Would you come to Busan with me?" He asked making Yuri turn her head towards him. "There is a ceremony for the inauguration of the new factory. My parents want me to be there. And I want to take you with me."
She smiled. "I would love to."
Though she said this, Jimin noticed the change in her expression. He quickly understood she was nervous at the mention of his parents. He held her hand in his, bringing it towards his lips to place a soft kiss on top of it.
"I will be there for you." He gave her a reassuring smile.
Yuri's heart eased at the sight of his smile. "I know that." She gave him a knowing nod.
"Ok, so what are the plans for today?" He asked, diverting the topic.
"Umm...." Yuri pretended to think deeply, being dramatic, before exclaiming, "Cooking together, watching movies, and sleeping. Sounds fun, right?"
"Yeah," Jimin started, "Everything is fun except that sleeping part. Are you sure you want to sleep?"
Yuri's cheek turned crimson, hitting his arms lightly with her fists. "Stop it, you perverted man!"
He continued teasing her, "Oh, don't pretend to be innocent. You are always ready once I take a step,"
Yuri covered her ears because of embarrassment, yelling at him, "Stop it! You liar."
Jimin laughed loudly, his melodic voice echoing in the car.
Yuri removed her hands from her ears, only to witness a breathtakingly mesmerizing sight of him laughing. The way his eyes nearly disappeared, and his melodious laugh echoed throughout the car made him look like nothing less than a descendant from heaven.
She was snapped out of the trance as he softly called out her name. She smiled brightly. All of it felt unreal to her, the happiness within her heart was unreal. She never wanted this feeling to end. The feeling of them bickering and flirting, the feeling when he speaks, the feeling of his kisses, the feeling of his presence.
