7- What's Done is Done
Hazel continued on, ready for anything. Her knife was in her hand now, and even though she didn't want to use it, she had it for defense.
On any normal day, there would be no need for defense. Adam was a good friend, and it was the game's fault anyone had died.
As she opened the door, Hazel poked her head around before quickly pulling back. She had caught a glimpse of Adam in the middle of the room, and didn't want to risk being shot, no matter how "immune" She was.
Remembering she wasn't here to kill, Hazel lowered the knife.
"Adam?" She called out quietly, but there was no answer. Sighing, Hazel opened the door and stepped inside.
A gasp escaped her lips
She dropped her knife
She fell to the floor
Alone
So
Alone...
Lying on the floor dead, was Adam. The gun of a mafioso lay on the floor next to him. With the realization that all of her friends were now dead, Hazel began to cry. Game or not, this felt all too real. She felt as if she had been crushed inside. Hazel picked up her knife, and fingered it in front of her eyes. She was thinking of plunging it deep into herself.
After doing this for a minute, she knew she could never. Her brain wouldn't allow it to happen. She gathered herself, stood, and left closing the door behind her. Walking back to her house, she wondered what would happen now that this was over. As she entered her house, she saw a small beam of light begin to creep through the tiny window. Her eyes followed it to her pillow, and the floor suddenly vanished beneath her. Hazel fell into the darkness...
