Eva walks down the stairs with trepidation, she doesn't know her way around and is afraid of getting lost. She is therefor, more than a little relieved to run into a maid that is able to take her to Tristan's study. The maid knocks once then opens the door for Eva. Eva thanks the maid before entering.

"Ah, good, you found me." Tristan jokes a bit with Eva, trying to make her feel less awkward in her surroundings.

"Yeah, but I was afraid I'd get lost and you would have to send out a search and rescue team to find me." Eva jokes back with him. When he's near she finds that she doesn't mind things after all.

Tristan chuckles at her words, "Eva, love, if you got lost I'd send out all my men and the servants to find you. Not just one measly search and rescue team. It would take them forever to clear this house."

Eva gives Tristan a weak smile to show that she understands what he's doing. "I'm ready, but if you have things you still need to do, I can wait." Eva notices the papers that are on his desk. Only then does she notice that Tom is also present.

"Nope, I'm good. I'm not even supposed to be doing this much. You are saving me from my doctor's wrath." Tristan smiles as he straightens some papers then stands up.

He turns to Tom, "I know I'm leaving things in good hands while I'm gone." Tristan goes to move then remembers something. "There's a fight in two weeks, the day after I come back, isn't there?"

"Yeah, a big one. Lassiter's farewell fight. It's a fight to the death for the championship." Tom says not really paying much attention and so misses the tension that suddenly fills Tristan.

"Damn, well that will be a good one to see at least. Eva?" Tristan turns to her, "The next fight will be a fight to the death for my champion. Will you be alright watching that?"

"Yeah, that won't be a problem. Your champion, is he just a champion for you or is it -"

"He's the underground champion for the region. He's even fought other region champion's and won. Although we don't have a fight against all of them to see who is the best, but Lassiter hasn't lost a fight yet."

Eva gets a confused look on her face. She's heard that name before but can't place it. "Has Lassiter been fighting for you long?"

"He's been fighting for years, but only for us for about a year and a half or so. This will be his retiring fight. He also works for me and his duties in the mafia are more important at this time."

"Are the fights to the death very gruesome?" Eva asks as Tristan comes around and takes her hand.

"No, not always. The fighter has the right to give mercy and let the opponent live. They usually do, actually. The sponsors prefer it. It's hard to find good fighters. Although the threat is very real. Lassiter has had several fights to the death and sent several fighters on. He generally gives them the chance to capitulate. If they are unconscious and can't he doesn't kill them unless they've pissed him off during the fight."

Eva snorts, "Sounds like a real softy."

Tom hears her remark, "There is nothing soft about Lassiter. He's killed in the ring and outside of it. But if any one knows where your friend Cain is, it will be Lassiter. He has traveled the most and had the most contact with other fighters from other regions. He might even have gone against him in the ring. That is if he is any good."

"Well, since I've never seen a fight in the ring I can't say how he is in comparison, but he was sure able to handle those that would attack me. He killed more than that first one. I've always wanted to see him fight in the ring." Eva says that last as she is looking down and fights the tears. She needs to stop being such a wuss. She never cried like this before.

Tom straightens up uncomfortable at making Eva cry. "I'm sorry Eva. I didn't mean to make you cry."

Tristan had pulled her into his arms and just holds her to him. "It's okay, Eva. It still hurts you, I know. We'll get you some answers if it's at all possible. I promise you that."

"Have you had our hackers look for him?" Tristan demands of Tom.

"Yeah, but it's like he's just disappeared off the face of the earth. It was a professional job, that's for sure." Tom says beyond frustrated and very irked.

Eva chuckles through her tears. "You won't find anything if he doesn't want to be found. Cain is one of the best hackers known, or rather not known. He'll have erased his presence when he disappeared. He loves to fight though, so that's the only chance I have of finding him. He says that fighting gives him a rush he can't get elsewhere."

"Maybe I should recruit this Cain to work for me?" Tristan says to himself but out loud.

"You could do far worse if you do," Eva responds. "The things he taught me made it so I could easily disappear too. But I haven't had much luck finding my parents. I tried, but I think Cain will have to be the one to find them."

"What will you do after you find them?" Tristan asks gently. He knows what he wants to do to them.

"I'm not sure. At first I was just going to leave an anonymous tip to the police, but now, I feel rather vindictive. But I'm not able to do anything to them, so I guess I would still send the police after them." Eva says shrugging her shoulders.

"If I found them and brought them here, what would you do?" Tristan asks, there is something about his voice that grabs Eva's attention.

"I don't know. I just want them to hurt like they hurt me. And I want answers. Like why the hell they hurt me like they did? Why didn't they give me up if they didn't want me? Things like that." Eva says but looks at Tristan, "Why?"

"There isn't anything concrete, but we have reports of a couple that matches your parents. I've sent some men out to get eyes on them. They haven't reported back yet. If it's them what would you like me to do? I can leave them for the police or grab them and bring them back here." Tristan knows what he's going to do, even if Eva doesn't agree with it.

Eva thinks about it for a bit. Finally in a soft voice that holds a great deal of anger, "Bring them here." She looks up at Tristan, "Can I watch as you do whatever you have planned?"

Tristan smiles, "How do you know that I have something planned?"

Eva laughs, "You've already shown yourself a bit protective when it comes to me. I remember your reaction to my story yesterday, your's and Tom's. You have something planned and I would very much like to watch and get my answers."

Tristan gives a near silent chuckle. "I will let you watch some of it. If you are unable to watch I'll make sure that you get your answers. I will need you to write down all the questions you have for them."

"I will."

"Tom will likely be the one to make them comfortable, but the punishment won't begin until I get back. Will you be alright with that?" Tristan asks gently but there's plenty of amusement in his voice.

"You think I'm wrong for wanting this?"

"Hell no! There's a reason my men fear me, Eva. I have a black temper, I thought I told you that yesterday?"
