Chapter 48

"What did you just say?" Humayun questioned Misha who looked like she was about to have a panic attack.

"Pl-please do-don't h-hurt hi-him I-I li-like h-hi-" A slap echoed in the lounge as Misha's face was whipped to the right side as Humayun hit with enough force to silence her.

"Humayun!" Misha's mother screamed as she quickly walked to cover her daughter before Humayun or Qasim could hit her again. Misha was too shocked to even respond. Her eyes were the size of a saucer as fresh hot tears rolled down her cheeks.

"Kya boli ho abhi?! Dubara bolna zara! (What did you just say?! Say it again!)" Humayun roared at his sister who trembled under the sheer intensity of her brother's word. Never had she been hit, not even by her parents. "Suna bhi hai apki beeti ne kya kaha hai?! Yeh karne jati hai yeh bahir? Isliye humne is par itni trust ki hai? (Did you even hear what your daughter has said?! Is this what she does when she goes outside? Is this why we have trusted her so much?" Humayun pointed an accusing finger at his sister who continued to hug her mother and cry out loud.

"I am sorry, so sorry. Please mujhe maaf karden. (Please forgive me.)" Misha cried while looking at her brothers and father who all looked like they were going to blow up any minute.

"Kis cheez ki maafi? Trust torne ki? Yeh tou yeh sab karne se pehle sochna tha." Humayun glared at Misha although he did feel a pang of hurt in his chest at his sister's pitiful expressions but it couldn't overcome his anger yet.

"Isse tou hum baad men niptengay. Pehlay tou us Ibraheem Narejo ko sabaq sekhatay hun men. (We will deal with her later. Firstly, we are going to teach a lesson to that Ibraheem Narejo.)" Qasim said angrily. "Dhund kar nikalengay usse. (We will definitely find him.)"

There was only thing Misha dreaded more than her own life at this point. The last time, she had talked to Ibraheem, he was already on his way to Lahore because he had wanted to give her a gift for acing Olevels just like she wanted to give him a silver chain which was a surprise for him though. The gift was an excuse to see her though because he knew there would be lesser chances of those once his med school starts again in a week.

As if, all forces were acting against Misha right now, Misha's phone vibrated indicating a call from Hiba. This only meant one thing, he was already in Lahore and somewhere nearby. A new founded fear took over Misha as she screamed out a "No!"

Humayun gave a deathly glare to Misha before putting the phone on speaker to make sure the entire family heard it while Misha's mother held Misha back. Ibraheem was surprised to see her pick up the call this quickly but it was a pleasant kind of surprise. Was she that excited to see him? He smirked before speaking, "Hello, little fox. Are you that excited to meet me?"

"Little fox kay kuch lagte, tujhe tou hum batate hen. Humari behan ko chehrta hai? Aj k baad meri behan ko call, text ya kisi bhi tarah milne ki koshish ki tou dekhna hum tumhara kya haal karte hen. (We will teach you a lesson. You are bothering our sister? If you ever dare to call, text or meet my sister then just watch what we do to you.)" Humayun replied and Ibraheem's humorous tone disappeared as he turned serious as well.

"Dekhen (Look) bhai, I mean no harm to your sister. I wasn't bothering her. Mujhe tou usse pyar hai (I love her actually)." Ibraheem said in a calm tone.

"Pyar? Teray pyar ko tou hum nikalte hen. Itna kuttengay k apni shakal nahi pehchani jayegi sheeshay men. Akhri dafah keh raha hun, Misha se door reh ab. (Love? We will beat the love out of you. We will beat you up so much you won't even be able to recognize your own face in the mirror. I am warning you for the last time, stay away from Misha.)" Qasim threatened.

"Bhai, yeh men nahi kar sakta. Mujhe Misha se bohat pyar hai. Misha ko kuch nahi kehna. Uska koi kasoor nahi hai is sab men. Sab mera kasoor hai. (Bhai, I can't do that. I love Misha way too much. Don't do anything to her. She is innocent in all of this. It's all my fault.)" Ibraheem replied knowing full well how strict her family was since she had told him countless times. Misha broke out into a fresh set of tears at Ibraheem's words. Why was this idiot acting brave? He should just back off now.

"Just go away Ibraheem!" Misha said loudly in tears that Ibraheem heard over the speaker. "Forget about me please!"

"Dubara call na karin ab. (Don't call again now.)" Humayun warned and then hung up but it didn't even take five seconds for Ibraheem to call back. Qasim swore under his breath before snatching it from his brother's hand and picking it up.

"I am outside your house. If you have any problems with my and Misha's relationship then let's talk about it but don't stop me from talking to her please." Ibraheem replied in a serious tone.

"Kameenay! You are outside our house?! Teri itni jurat, tujhe tou men batata hun! (How dare you, I am going to fuck you up!)" Qasim grabbed the cricket bat Humayun had put down and smashed Misha's phone into the wall before he marched towards the main gate of their house with a very angry Humayun right behind him followed by a scared shitless Misha and their parents.

Qasim opened the door to see Ibraheem standing in front of his Range Rover. Before Ibraheem could even say a word, before anyone could say a word, Qasim swung the cricket bat towards him which he dodged quickly but it ended up breaking one of his car's headlights.

"Look, I just want to talk." Ibraheem said quickly but Qasim wasn't having it. Humayun lunged at Ibraheem too but it wasn't looking good for Ibraheem. A punch landed on his jaw causing him to stumble back.

"Ibraheem! Are you crazy? Why did you come here? Leave please! I am begging you!" Misha cried as tears rolled down her face while her father held her back.

"It will be fine, little fox. Don't worry." Ibraheem assured though his heart hurt from seeing her tearful face and trembling voice. Little fox's brothers sure knew how to throw a punch but he wasn't going to fight back. It would make him look bad in front of her family. Well, worse than what he already looked like.

"Listen, just please hear me out. I didn't come with the intention to fight. I genuinely love your sister. I am not going to hit either of you." Ibraheem tried to step back and show he meant no harm but it was to no avail. The brothers looked ready to kill.

"Showing up here was a grave mistake on your part. You should have just backed off." Qasim punched Ibraheem in the gut and Humayun was about to kick him in his face while he was kneeled down but their father's booming voice stopped everyone.

"Stop. All of you. This is our neighborhood. Word will spread like wild fire. Do you want to make this a bigger deal than it already is? Stop causing a commotion. Stop both of you." Humayun and Qasim looked like they wanted to argue back but their father was right. If neighbors and people they knew saw what they were doing, it would make matters even worse as everyone loved to talk. Ibraheem was about to say something but their father said words that cut like knives through Ibraheem's heart.

"Misha has already broken our trust enough for today. I don't want to see you near my daughter, my house or my family again. If you don't agree to this, if you don't leave us alone, I will marry my daughter to a family friend's son against her will to protect her and our honor." Ibraheem felt his will break at the last sentence.

"You can't do that." Ibraheem said while looking right at Misha's father who had the same eyes as Misha's but only darker and stormier.

"I can and I will. So unless you want that, leave her alone. I don't want to do this daughter but you will leave me no choice." His words held so much power, so much weight that Ibraheem felt himself pressurized. He looked like he meant every word.

"Please do it Ibraheem! My father is serious, he will actually do it! You know how my family is, please just go." Misha begged Ibraheem while crying who looked so pained.

"I will go, I will leave so don't do this to her. Please. She doesn't deserve this. I love you, Misha but I will disappear from your life forever if it means you can be happy. I am sorry for everything. Please don't hurt her." Ibraheem gave Misha a broken smile as he took a few steps back towards his car.

"I know, I love you too, Ibraheem. I am so sorry for everything."

"Don't be. I am glad I met you." Ibraheem replied as he glanced at her father's unwavering expression. He got into his car, gave one last look at Misha before driving away.

He felt like his heart had been crushed like someone had ripped it out of his chest and stomped on top of it. Once he was far enough, Ibraheem cried like never before.
