Chapter 39.

It had been a month and a half now. Misha's bullet wound was almost closed now and she was applying to different colleges along with Zoya and Rubab. Her result was coming in ten days and the stress was driving her crazy along with Ibraheem who had to deal with her mood swings and stress attacks but apart from that things had been pretty cool between them, they talked regularly and unexpectedly neither one of them had acted up in any way.

Ibraheem was in Karachi and just like Misha, he was dreading the end of summer break because that meant the start of med school. He still couldn't believe he had survived two years in medicine already with minimal effort. Kamran and Fahad had a hard time accepting the fact that their best friend with a violent streak was on his way to become a doctor or more like, whether he was even smart enough to pass the super tough exams but all of them knew Saqib Narejo was funding the university Ibraheem was going to so there was no way, the administration of the university was going to flunk Ibraheem and cause any 'unnecessary' problems like Saqib Narejo had put it. Everyone knew what that meant.

Saqib Narejo knew something was wrong with his son when he found out that he had stopped drinking alcohol. He tried to get the reason out of Kamran and Fahad too since Ibraheem had simply gave a confusing statement to his father that said "I am securing my future by doing this." When Saqib Narejo tried to ask further, Ibraheem just shrugged and left, leaving Fahad and Kamran to deal with the intimidating man. Both of them also refused to budge and lied that they didn't know anything because Ibraheem had warned them not to talk about Misha yet. As much as Ibraheem wanted to just ask his parents to go ask for Misha's hand in marriage, he accepted the fact that she wasn't ready for it. She would probably freak out and do something crazy again like shoot her own leg or arm this time.

So Ibraheem was on his best behavior at least until the wound on her thigh heals so the guilt doesn't eat him up entirely. Misha had told him countless times that it wasn't his fault and she was to blame as well but he wasn't having it. Everything was going good apart from the growing possessiveness in Ibraheem's veins for Misha that reached a new high when Misha dropped a bomb on her brothers and Ibraheem when she had finalized that she was going to a co-ed college. The reaction made Misha laugh and cry at the same time. The horrific expressions on her brothers' faces along with the shock and disdain in Ibraheem's tone made her laugh because it was honestly kind of cute. It went something like....

"Ammi! What if some guy falls in love with her and leads her on to do wrong things?" Humayun rose up from the seat in exasperation while Misha and the family was having a dinner. Misha's mother was the one to break the news about her going to a co-ed college for her Alevels.

"It's simple. We will break his bones and ground Misha for believing his lies. Our Misha is too innocent for this." Qasim answered in all seriousness while Misha looked at him in shock, her jaw dropping on the table.

"No one is breaking anyone's bones. She will be 17 soon. She is a smart girl plus this college provides the best education and a variety of subjects that Misha gets to explore." Misha's mother reasoned while her father nodded his head in agreement.

"Abbu! How are you okay with this? She is your only daughter and the respect of our house." Humayun added again as he looked to his father for an explanation who simply shook his head.

"Humayun, your mother is right. You just need to trust your sister more." Misha's father smiled at his daughter who just smiled back awkwardly remembering the fact that she talks to Ibraheem behind her family's back which was a pretty risky move in itself. She also remembered that she had yet to drop the bomb to him. She had noticed how possessive he was in his text messages or calls lately. He would occasionally ask if any boys bothered her on social media or elsewhere and how he would kill them or break their bones for even trying but Misha just ignored it or dodged the subject smoothly.

"I trust Misha! It's the boys that I don't trust. They are all hormonal teenagers and desperate or something." Humayun said as he sat back down and rolled his eyes. He then looked at Saleem who hadn't said anything ever since their mother had told them the news. "Why are you so silent?"

"I still can't believe Misha is going to study with guys. I mean, just the image is disturbing. She is so pure and sweet, what if someone tries to exploit her? I don't even want to imagine it but then again, she had to study in co-ed eventually so mother and father are right. I trust her to make sensible decisions. We have raised her well. Plus Zoya is applying to the same place as well so they will both be together and can take care of each other." Saleem answered which silenced both the brothers and the parents nodded their head in agreement. And that was the end of the discussion.

Later that night, Misha exhaled slowly to calm her nerves as she dropped the bomb on Ibraheem who had been out with his friends on a drag racing event at the time.

Asalam o Alaikum. - Misha. Misha had sent him a message at ten because she had to tell him today. She knew he was waiting for this moment because he had been listening to her rant about it the entire week. Just like her brothers, he was also a supporter of all-girls for Misha so she was sure he was going to react the same way as her brothers.

Walaikum Asalam. How was your day, little fox? – Ibraheem. Ibraheem had a goofy smile on his face when his phone had lit up to notify him of Misha's message. Kamran who had been standing close by rolled his eyes because he had gotten used to this expression now. Fahad was busy racing with one of their other friends to notice.

It was good. – Misha. Misha had no idea why he called her that but had gotten used to it so she didn't complain or question.

Did you decide what college you are going to? You said it would be finalized today. – Ibraheem. Misha sighed deeply knowing he was going to go straight for the kill.

Yeah. – Misha.

Yeah and? – Ibraheem.

Um, well, I am going to the Defense branch. – Misha.

Isn't that the one that has boys in it? – Ibraheem. Of course, he was going to ask that. The speed of the reply almost scared Misha who knew what was coming. They had been good for almost two months now, no fights, threats or anything but there was no way things were gonna end up smooth forever. Misha knew that. Ibraheem knew that. The whole Pakistan knew that.

Well, yeah. – Misha. For some reason, Misha was scared and excited at the same time to know about what he had to say.

I refuse. Did you tell your brothers? – Ibraheem. Ibraheem's goofy smile had vanished which was also an expression Kamran was used to seeing when he knew Bhabhi was giving him a hard time. Kamran and Fahad had gotten so used to calling her that it was weird to call her Misha now.

Yeah, I did. – Misha.

Well? They refused as well, right? I am sure they did. This is the only thing I agree with them on. We all just want to protect you. You are too innocent for this world. I am going to kill anyone that approaches you. I will break enough bones for them to never want to see you again. – Ibraheem. By now, any happiness on Ibraheem's face had disappeared and Misha sighed knowing she had this coming.

They refused but agreed in the end. Plus no one will fall for me, relax. My brothers are too intimidating for someone to even think of approaching me. – Misha.

I approached you. – Ibraheem. Misha rolled her eyes, of course he was going to retort with that.

You are an exceptional case. – Misha.

Does that make me special? – Ibraheem. There it was again, Ibraheem's ego stroke moment. Misha had gotten so used to this and it made her laugh at how determined he was to prove his worth to her all the time. He wasn't even subtle about it. She just giggled before replying.

Yes, yes very special so don't worry, co-ed will be fine. Don't you trust me? – Misha. Ibraheem smiled before grimacing again.

I trust you. I just don't trust the boys. – Ibraheem.

You sounded just like Humayun just now. He said the same thing a while ago. Also, you do realize you are a guy too right? – Misha.

Yeah, but you said I am special. I am different from them. – Ibraheem.

Different how? – Misha

I love you that's how. – Ibraheem. No matter how many times he said it, it still made Misha's face flush red.

Well, what if some other guy loves me in college? What then? – Misha. She was joking but she had a feeling Ibraheem was going to end up getting triggered.

I will kill him. Do you even need to ask? – Ibraheem.

That was a joke but never mind. – Misha.

It better be. Don't joke about such stuff. You will know how torturous it feels like when you fall in love with me and I talk about other girls. – Ibraheem.

So you will talk about other girls in front of me? Isn't that cruel? – Misha

Isn't what you are doing the same thing? Cruel, right? – Ibraheem.

Alright fine. Point made. Anyway, Co-ed will be fine so relax. – Misha

It better be fine or I will personally transfer you to an all-girls. – Ibraheem.

Trust me, my brothers will be a step ahead of you. – Misha

I hope so. I feel anxious now. I wish I could go back a few years and study in the same college as you. – Ibraheem.

What makes you say that? – Misha

I want to experience life with you all over again. I feel like I am missing out on parts of your life that I want to be a part of. Maybe things would have been different then. – Ibraheem. Misha could tell he was upset and was indirectly referring to her injury as well.

Okay, not to lead you on or anything but I don't think we would even be talking right now if that was the case. – Misha.

What do you mean? – Ibraheem.

I would probably be too scared of my brothers to even look at guys in college meaning if you were in my college I wouldn't even acknowledge you. – Misha

Really? Even with a face and personality like mine? – Ibraheem.

Yeah. As long as you are a guy, the situation would be the same. So like I said before, you are an exceptional case. No matter how messed up it was, we met each other and this was meant to happen so don't feel bad about it. We even have matching bullet wounds, I mean the same leg. A couple more and we could probably make a constellation out of it lol. – Misha.

I will never let anyone hurt you again. Even if that person is yourself. – Ibraheem.

I know, I know. I am just saying that things are better this way, I never would have gotten to know you if we had met in college. I mean not like I know you now at least. We have been through a lot, mostly me though. Partially cause you are crazy and annoying but yeah. – Misha.

Yeah but you have accepted those parts of me as well. Are you starting to fall for me now? – Ibraheem.

I gave you a disclaimer before to not get your hopes high. – Misha

It's okay. I will wait as long as no one else decides to interfere. – Ibraheem.

I don't think you will let anyone plus I have my hands full with you. – Misha

You are right about that. No one can or should come between us. Like you said, this was meant to happen. – Ibraheem.

Stop using my words against me. – Misha

But I am an exceptional case. – Ibraheem.

I am not even going to say anything now. –Misha.

Just let me know if anyone bothers you alright? – Ibraheem.

So you can kill them and make me feel guilty about it? – Misha.

Exactly. – Ibraheem.

You are crazy, you know that? – Misha

But you like that, don't you? – Ibraheem.

No. – Misha

Keep lying to yourself. – Ibraheem.

Where does this confidence even come from? – Misha

Loving you. – Ibraheem.

Okay, that's it. I am going to sleep. Get home safe. And don't stay out too long. – Misha.

Are you worried about me? – Ibraheem. Misha rolled her eyes. Two could play at this game. She smirked as she replied.

Why? You don't want me to be? – Misha. Ibraheem smiled. She was adorable, he couldn't help falling for her a little more every single day. She showed a different side of her all the time.

No, you should be. – Ibraheem.

Great then take care of yourself. Allah hafiz. – Misha.

Khuda Hafiz, little fox. I love you. – Ibraheem.

Seen at 11:43 p.m.

And yet, two completely polar opposite people, a girl and a man were smiling in different cities while looking up at the night sky.

Author's note:

Hey and Asalam o Alaikum guys!

So a couple of things, firstly, special appreciation for the readers who sent me messages asking me if I was alright because I had been way too silent and you know MIA (missing in action). Secondly, OH MY GOD, UNI IS DRIVING ME CRAZY but I am slowly getting accustomed to it so we good I guess. Keep praying for me though. I need all the duas I can get.

So was this cute or what? I am sorry I didn't update on last weekend so I tried to make up for it by writing this long chapter. I actually cut my thumb on a broken glass and it was a deep cut with all the blood dripping on the floor and all so it was hard to type or do anything for a while. I just recently took of the bandage so we good now. I miss you all a lot. I even miss Ibraheem and Misha if that even makes any sense lol.

A lot of you were asking me what the second book is going to be about. So guys, we all know our girl Misha is sixteen right now so we can't marry her off, it doesn't sit well with me. I mean she ain't even legal yet so the only hint I am going to give to you all is that the second book will be a time skip to a few years in the future with both our protagonists being in their twenties or something. That book will have the real spice and drama because they will meet again after a few years and all. OKAY. No more hints. Just enjoy the show lovelies!

Peace out. \\//
