Puppies

Here's some fluff and characters to make up for last chapter.

Patton was ecstatic, he was head over heels in love, and his soulmates all loved him back. He would later call this day, "One of the best days of my life". He couldn't sleep that night, just smiled and listened to sappy love songs. He bounced as he made eggs on toast.

"Patton, you look like you're going to break the floor if you bounce any more forcefully." Logan called out, walking to the coffee machine.

"I'm just so happy that you, Virgil, and Roman are all my boyfriends. It's so amazing!" Patton cemented it with kissing Logan on a cheek, turning the usually put together male into a blushing, stuttering mush.

This was nice, at least Logan had Patton and Virgil. And Roman, Roman would still be friends with him, they would still talk about the plot holes in shows late at night when they both couldn't sleep. But, Logan couldn't focus on that, he had to hurry up and eat so he could get to the school early and set up a lesson. Patton handed him his lunch on the way out and waved goodbye, "Don't scold the kids too badly."

Roman and Virgil got up around the same time. "Logan left already?" The one with darker hair asked, sitting down at the table.

"Yep. I made eggs and toast!" Patton beamed, placing a plate in front of each of them.

"Yes! You're awesome!"

"Thanks, Pat."

"It's just eggs and toast." Patton laughed.

"We've never learned to cook, you know." Roman reminded him.

"I'll have to teach one of you." The one in glasses chuckled, taking his seat next to Roman. "Probably you, Virgil, since you're here a lot more than the other two."

"Don't leave him here to cook. He'll burn the apartment down." Roman giggled, earning a kick from Virgil.

"Shut up!"

"Kids, no fighting." Patton scolded jokingly.

"Well, I have to go, see you both when I get home." Roman got up and put his empty plate in the sink.

"Bye, Ro."

"See ya, honey!"

And with that it was just Patton and Virgil. The two finished their food, and Virgil put both the plates up. "So, Virgil, I was wondering..."

"Yes?"

"Can I come with you to your work?" Patton nearly shouted.

"As long as you don't try and take one of them home like last time, sure." Virgil rolled his eyes.

"Oh, thank you! Thank you! Thank you!" The brunette jumped up and ran over to the emo, wrapping his arms around the other's shoulders before pressing a kiss to his lips. It was quick and sweet, and Virgil got the chance to lean in before Patton pulled away, bouncing on the balls of his feet.

"We have to go now then," Virgil explained, tugging on a jacket, an amused smile stuck on his face. Patton put his cardigan on, for once and raced in front of Virgil, out of their apartment, to the elevator, then the freezing cold outside. "Patton, slow down!" The emo shouted, running to meet Patton. "Okay, stop running, I can't go that fast."

"Okay..." Patton grumbled, taking Virgil's hand in his. Anxeity flinched like he had been burned, before trying to relax. They walked to the pet shop, hand in hand, Patton swung their arms as they paced the sidewalk.

Once they got there, Patton jumped ahead and ran to the door. He flung it open, scaring the person behind the desk. Their hair was black and he wore a grey jacket with black stripes. Virgil quickly ran up and held Patton from running farther into the store with puppies.

"What's up, Ell?" Virgil laughed, as Patton eventually gave up and was freed, mostly. Virgil still held him in place with his hand.

"Not much." Elliot confessed, shrugging.

"Alright, I'm going to take Patton to the puppies and make sure he doesn't steal one, while I stock the shelves. We can talk in a little."

"Puppies!" Patton shook with excitement.

"Patton, the puppies won't sit in your lap if you move too much." The emo teased him, walking over to the place where the puppies ran around. It was a small play pen for some fluffy creatures.

As soon as Virgil opened the gate, the man in a cardigan flew in, sitting down next to the herd of dogs. Soon, a small spaniel mix found it's way into Patton's lap, it's black fur shiny. One of it's front legs was gone, but it still looked adorable. The brunette pet it calmly, glancing up at his boyfriend every once in a while, just laying with the puppies. But Virgil finished with stocking the shelves, and after checking on Patton and the dogs that surrounded him, went to talk to the person at the cash register.

"So, who's that?" Elliot asked.

"Patton."

"I mean, who is he to you?"

"He's- my soulmate... And boyfriend." Virgil explained.

"What about Logan? I know you have like five soulmates, but I thought you were only dating him. Did you two break up?" The person with black hair raised a brow. "Sorry, if I'm being nosy." Elliot shrunk back.

"Nah, you're fine. And Logan and I are still dating, I'm just dating Patton and Roman too. Started yesterday, so I have no clue how this is going to work." The one with bangs chuckled. "Have you found your soulmate, yet?" The small smile on Elliot's face dropped.

"No. I'm still alone after Micheal left me to be with his a week ago." The floor suddenly became very interesting to them, as they ducked their eyes down.

"Cheer up, you'll hate it when you have to tell them something embarrassing or you want to lie." The brunette smiled, tried to brighten the mood.

"But I bet you like it when they're trying to hide something from you. Sometimes I wonder if I even have a soulmate."

"I can bring Patton over here if you want. He can compliment you on anything and it make some form of sense. And he would "physical fight you," if he heard that." Virgil used air quotes, confusing Elliot, but they decided to push it off.

"No, I'm good." Elliot hummed. "You doing anything next week on Friday?"

"Not that I know of, why?"

"I got two tickets to a Panic! At The Disco concert." Elliot smiled, watching Virgil's eyes go wide.

"Get out."

"For real."

"How?" The emo nearly screamed.

"Michael bought them, but when we broke up, he told me to keep them. So lucky for you!" The smug smile on Elliot's face was genuine, from seeing Virgil's face form a smile.

"I love you."

"You already have three boyfriends, I don't think you need another one."

They both laughed, until they heard someone walk in. A young male in a brown cardigan with odd glasses, that were similar in shape to Patton's.

"Hello, I'm Dr.  Picani. But you can call me Emile. I'm here to adopt a dog." The man held himself with dignity, but his smile showed his childishness.

"Okay, follow me." Elliot made himself small as they walked over to the pen, where Patton was being smothered in fluffy animals, giggling.

"Patton, we have a customer, you need to get out." Virgil whispered to his soulmate.

"I want to say you're no fun." Patton grumbled, upset that he couldn't lie.

"Yeah, yeah. You get to play with the dogs in a little bit, just get out of here for now." Virgil sighed. The man in glasses stood up, and got out of the pen. Virgil left to go feed the birds that were squawking, leaving the other three alone.

"So, you want a dog?" Patton asked, a smile on his face.

"Yes, do you have any recommendations?" Emile smiled back. Elliot wondered how the two were so happy. Dogs were nice, but were they really enough to make two people smile like that? They were just another life form, like a human. But the two seemed to really like cute things, so maybe that was it.

"The white Pomeranian over there is pretty cute; pug is cute, and I heard they're easy to take care of; the black spaniel is fluffy beyond belief; really any of these dogs are nice." Patton reassured.

"How long have you been working here?" Picani wondered.

"Oh, I don't. My soulmate, Virgil, allowed me to come along, and I really like dogs. They are just so fluff!" The man in a grey cardigan beamed.

"I think I like the spaniel, what's their name?" Emile asked Elliot.

"S-she's a newborn, so she doesn't have a name. She has two other siblings, over there if you want a spaniel with all their legs." Elliot muttered.

"Nope, I want her." Emile claimed.

"Okay, I'll get the paperwork and everything..." Elliot smiled softly, walking to the cash register.

"What are you going to name her?" Patton tapped his fingers on the fence.

"Something like Minnie Mouse, or maybe Olive Oyl?" Emile suddenly jumped, his face lighting up, "Betty Boo!"

"That is just precious!" Patton cheered.

Elliot returned with a stack of papers, and a pen. Emile filled them all out and bought some things necessary to keeping a dog, and left. The rest of the day went on without incident, Patton got to play with the dogs most of the time, some people stopped by to buy things for their pets, and nothing happened that was too eventful.

"Well, Patton, it's time for us to go." Virgil called out to Patton, who was laying under a pile of fluffy creatures.

"Do we have to?" The smaller grumbled.

"Yep, now get up. Logan will get worried if you're not at home."

"Fine." Patton sighed, unattaching himself from the pile of dogs, whispering, "I will come back for you all." Before getting out.

The two walked home, ate dinner with their soulmates, and just had a good day. Patton spent his time being cute with puppies, Logan was poking fun at Roman, and Virgil got to watch. It was nice, and Virgil wanted it to stay like this forever, though he knew it couldn't. This was a good day, at least.
