Black eyes

I am a simple peasant who has no idea how concerts work, so this won't be accurate.

Also, something I noticed while listening to Troye Sivan, "Make you love me" and "Lost boy" sound like they are two people who are singing about eachother. Just thought that was interesting.

Elliot and Virgil got to the concert early, but they found out, their seats were far away from eachother, about on the other side of the building. So they had to split ways, after promising to text eachother if something happened. It would have been fine if a brunette, that Virgil knew, wasn't sitting next to him. But the annoying cashier apparently had the seat next to him.

"Oh, it's Mr. Emo." Rem laughed, falling into his seat. "Where's your date?"

"Long story, but they have got a seat over on the other side of the building." Virgil hummed in annoyance.

"Oh, girl, I'm so sorry you can't be emo with your Elliot." Rem cooed, sincerity in his voice.

"Elliot's not my date. I found my soulmates already." Virgil sighed, then flinched at his own words.

"Soulmates, huh. Wow, the cute one always are lucky. Are they as adorable as you?" Rem smiled, curious.

"Uh, yeah. I- They all look better than me." Virgil curled in on himself slightly, but he felt, more comfortable in this conversation than he would with someone else, for some strange reason.

"Girl! That is probably not possible! If what you say is true, I must see them!" Rem shouted, then flinched back, then ignored whatever scarred him.

Virgil grabbed his phone, and pulled out his photo gallery, going to his favorite picture. It was a picture from a year ago, taken at a park. Patton was in his cat hoodie, eyes still as bright as when they were kids. Logan sat to Patton's right, a pleasant smile across his lips, as he looked up from a book. Roman sat like he normally did, like he was the greatest man on earth and deserved everything. Rem raised a brow at Virgil.

"Sweetie, you look a little bit better than them." Rem stated, eyebrows going up, for some reason.

"Look at Patton." Virgil said, pointing to the man in a grey hoodie.

"I saw him, and decided you, girl, are better."

"What about me is better than any of them? Logan's calm and calculated, Roman's bold and courageous, and Patton's the most happy man on earth. What do I have against them, being cynical and depressing?" Virgil said a bit louder than he was a minute ago.

"Woah, calm your horses, sugar. You need to stop being so hard on yourself. You're cute, that's all I meant." The restaurant worker held his hands up in defense.

"Sorry." Virgil apologized, shoulders going up.

"It's fine," Rem replied.

Then the concert started, most of the noises were Brendon's voice, as people became more quiet. Though, it wasn't much, because most of them were thirteen year old girls. An hour went by, and Virgil regretted all of it.

The music wasn't clear, he had already heard all the songs before, and it would have been nicer to just listen to the music in his own house, without the other noises. He regretted all of it. Except for one thing, Rem. He was, interesting. Loud and prideful like Roman, sassy like Logan, and clingy, not as much as Patton, but still, clingy. He was a mix of all of his soulmates traits, but acted completely different from any of them. They had gotten out of the building, and were standing by Elliot's car. Virgil texted Elliot, but apparently the other got stuck in the crowd, so they would have to wait.

"Elliot's stuck. We have to wait." Virgil scrunched his face up, leaning on the car.

"Okay, girl. So, do you think you have any more soulmates, like people you don't know?" Rem asked.

"Yeah." Virgil said, without meaning to. He wanted to give an unclear answer, or just a flat out "no." But honestly, he knew there was someone else, someone he was supposed to be with.

"Oh, really? Think about it much, sugar?" Rem taunted.

"Yes." Virgil said without meaning to again.

"What's it like?" Rem asked.

"What what like?" Virgil sighed,

"Meeting them." The shorter asked, a smirk across his face, "Since you have plenty of experience meeting them."

"You... Notice one detail about them immediately, one that shows their personality. And you focus on it, and find it admirable, no matter what your soulmate thinks about it." Virgil rambled, not meaning to say half the words that were falling out of his mouth. He was being forced to tell the truth, like he would with any of his other soulmates.

"Hmm, I bet my soulmate will fall in love with my sexy face." Rem laughed.

"Probably not." Virgil taunted, but it held some honesty. Virgil was sure Rem was his soulmate by this point, and though that did cause his heart to race and mind to blur, he was sure he hadn't, "fallen in love" with Rem's face. It just, didn't sum him up.

"Oh! So Mr. Emo is mocking me. Well, guess what, you're cute." Rem huffed, turning around, then paused to look at the ground. He pressed his pointer finger to his mouth, almost in suprise.

"Dude, you 'kay?" Virgil asked, tension clear in his voice. He knew what just happened, Rem tried to lie, and was catching on.

"You're cute. You're cute. You're-" Rem started to try and lie. "W-T-F."

"So, I guess we're soulmates." Virgil whispered.

"Virgil! Sorry I took so long." Elliot suddenly appeared.

"Hey, Ell. Um, can you wait a minute? I need to talk to Rem."

"Sure, yeah. Just be quick. I'm tired." Elliot sighed. "Need out?" The other whispered. Virgil shook his head, and smiled forcefully. He did need out, but he would regret it if he didn't talk to Rem about this, and test him on the others to see if he was their soulmate.

"I can drive sugar pea, over here if you want." Rem chimed in. Virgil took a minute to think about it. Rem could be dangerous, and he'd be alone with him, but Elliot would get more sleep, that the other desperately needed.

"Sure, I'll meet you at the hotel in a while, Ell." Virgil sighed, waving at Elliot, before walking with Rem to a red car.

"So, how does this work, sugar? Since you know so much." The shorter put more emphasis on the "so".

"No clue. You're my soulmate, I'm yours. No idea what happens afterwards." The emo chuckled.

"How? You have three soulmates, sweetheart." Rem gasped.

"I met all of them when I was thirteen, I met Patton and Roman at the same time, the others were there when we found Logan, and after about five minutes, one of us left the others to continue their date." Virgil explained.

"After that?" The cashier raised a brow.

"Lo and I thought we were platonic soulmates with Pat and Ro for thirteen years. So we moved in together, and started dating each other about a week ago, except Ro and Lo aren't soulmates, so they aren't dating." Virgil sighed. He didn't mean to say all of this information, but it was being pryed from him.

"Wow, complicated, huh." Rem laughed, smiling. "So tell me, soulmate, what about me did you fall in love with?" He striked a pose placing his hand in his hip, cocking it.

"I don't know." Virgil answered.

"I thought you were supposed to-"

"Yeah, that's what I said, but I haven't noticed anything about you that summarizes you." The taller groaned, hand going to his face. "Maybe it's some part of you I haven't seen, but I have no clue."

"Some part you haven't seen?" The other chuckled. Virgil considered what Rem was implying for a second, then washed that tainted thought from his mind, his cheeks gaining a dark red color.

"Probably, but most likely, not that." Virgil was growing frustrated at the fact he couldn't just say, "no."

"Maybe, it's..." Rem tapped his finger to his chin for a second. Then snapped, taking off his sunglasses. Suddenly, all of Virgil's attention went to Rem's eye. Two pools of black, dark and mysterious. Unreadable. Hiding whatever the pupil was trying to express. Black in the way of elegance, not the traditional kind, but in a way that made the beholder feel more important. Mysterious and self-righteous. That was Rem. "Bingo." Rem hummed happily, enjoying how Virgil's eyes lit up like fireworks.

"Shut up." Virgil darted his eyes to the ground.

"But, I didn't get that with you, sugar." Rem put his sunglasses back on.

"What?" Virgil raised a brow.

"I didn't fall in love with any part of you, like you did my eyes." He chuckled. "I don't feel compelled to stare at some part of you for an hour."

"I don't know. Maybe it's just me? Another thing to make me an outcast." Virgil rolled his eyes.

"I-D-K, but you are cute. If that wasn't proved by me trying to lie."

"That's kind of the thing about being soulmates, you just see them. Though there are exceptions."

"You look at other people? My, my, Virgil, I didn't pick yo-" He raised a brow.

"No!" Virgil shouted back. "Logan fell in love with Roman, despite them not being soulmates. And he fell hard, so you can fall in love with other people."

"Well, sh*t." Rem gaped. "You have a lot of drama in your life, don't you."

God, Logan was going to hate him for saying that. Last time he did that, Logan yelled. Virgil hated yelling, but this wasn't Logan's usual anger. Lo had yelled for a minute, about all the reasons him and Ro couldn't be together, then ran and slammed the door. Virgil wished he didn't have to tell four people now, the truth all the time. It got hard to keep secrets. And it was frustrating.

"Drive me to the hotel." Virgil stared at the ground, not wanting to show the tears that were falling down his face.

"You sure?" Rem asked, concern lightly dripped on his words.

"Yeah."

"Okay. Oh, hey, put in your number." Rem threw Virgil his phone, as they got in the car.

"You need to unlock it." Virgil held it out, putting his seatbelt on.

"It's just a bunch of threes." The shorter started the car, and began backing up. Virgil raised a brow at the other's lack of caution, then became very scared how that lack of caution would transfer to the road. "What hotel did you go to?"

"Tree heart Inn." Virgil answered typing in his phone number. Then used the phone to get Rem's number, and typed it into his phone. Now they could speak any time.

Now Rem and him were going to be around eachother for the rest of their lives, unless Virgil somehow screwed that up like he screwed up everything. Oh, he had no dea what was to come. Anything could happen, bad, or otherwise.
