A new one to meet
I am sorry I have no idea how Skype works and they do a lot of talking, so it probably will get confusing. Long chapter, the second half is just fluff.
Virgil got in the car, typing a text to his new soulmate.
"Hey. We're heading back home." Virgil texted.
"Can I visit you? Cause, I can nxt week." Rem responded immediately.
"Yes," Virgil replied.
"Cool, send ur address."
Virgil complied, "How long you gonna stay?"
"Next Friday to Thursday." Virgil wondered why he had such a long time off.
"K."
The two emos then drove in the car for another couple hours, switching drivers halfway through. Elliot dropped Virgil off at the front door of his house, then drove off, with a quick good-bye.
The one in purple walked to the front door and was about to open it, when he remembered something. He had other soulmates. Other soulmates who were very curious about everything. Other soulmates who had a right to know about another one of them. Virgil would have to talk about Rem. Dear god, this was going to be weird and awkward.
Virgil was interrupted from his thoughts about how he could possibly break the news, when a very excitable man swung the door open. "Virgil" Patton shouted, running into his soulmate's arms.
"Pat, I was gone for two day. It wasn't that long." Virgil rolled his eyes. "You're acting like you haven't seen me in weeks,"
"It feels like years though!" The smaller shouted.
"Patton has been acting this way since you left." Logan said from inside. "Pat, let Virgil in, he probably doesn't want to stay in the cold."
"Alright." The brunette moaned, letting go of his boyfriend. "Oh, Virgil! We have to decorate!" Patton jumped up.
"For what?" The taller raised a brow.
"Christmas, silly!" Patton laughed, dragging Virgil inside and closing the door. Virgil finally realized why Rem had such a long time from work. Christmas was on Monday.
"Oh." Virgil sighed, following Patton to the closet. He needed to tell them all about Rem.
"So, what happened during your trip?" Roman called out, picking up a box.
"I went to the concert," Virgil started, "And I met another soulmate." Roman dropped the box that held the Christmas tree.
"What!" They all shouted, eyes wide.
"I met another one of our soulmates." Virgil sighed, crossing his arms.
"I- how? We're all in our late twenties, how could we have not of known for so long?" Roman gasped.
"I knew." Virgil admitted, not having control over those words. "I knew that there was going to be someone else."
"And you decided to admit this now?" Logan raised a brow, walking over to the others.
"I just felt like- like there should be someone else there." Virgil growled, furrowing his brows. "It never came up until now."
"Well, who is he?" Patton asked, a smile gracing his lips excitedly, and slowly grew.
"His name's Rem." Virgil claimed. "He works at a restaurant in the town the concert was being held."
"I wanna meet him!" Patton jumped up, a large smile across his lips.
"He's going to be here next week, if you guys don't mind. I should have asked you about that first." Virgil cringed at the fact he forgot to ask the others if it was okay to get let Rem stay.
"Of course. He's our soulmate, isn't he?" Logan responded.
"No." Virgil's mouth moved on his own. "I don't think- no, he isn't your soulmate. He's just mine."
"What?" Roman asked.
"He's just my soulmate. He didn't- I showed him a picture of all of you and he said he thought I looked better than you all. He only had eyes for me, I think." Virgil explained, letting the silence fester for a minute.
"Interesting." Logan chimed in. "He is only vital to you. It is strange. There are so many people who are vital to your happiness in particular. I wonder why you have so many soulmates. Patton has the most "love to give", it would make sense for him to have the most soulmates." Logan stopped his ramble for a second. "Patton, do you feel there is someone else who is your soulmate, similar to how Virgil felt?"
"No." The reply came instant. "I feel absolutely happy and comfortable with all of you! I don't have another soulmate."
"Neither do I feel that way." Roman said, tapping a finger to his cheek. "Maybe Virgil needs the most love."
"Virgil, do you need more love?" Patton cried out.
"Maybe? I don't know." Virgil sighed. "All I know is that I have another soulmate."
"Yes, that is interesting." Logan pressed his hand to his chin. "Do you think we could see him, or talk to him?"
"Um, we could use Skype. Just let me text him." Virgil pulled out his phone and started typing.
"Hey Rem. My bfs want to Skype you." Virgil wrote.
"K. Go ahead." Rem replied, also leaving the information needed to skype.
"'Kay he said "go ahead"." Virgil sighed.
"Let's use a computer so we can see the screen easier." Logan suggested, pulling his computer up onto the kitchen table, and typing in all the needed information. Soon, a male in sunglasses came up on screen.
"Oh, hey." Rem waved, a cup of Starbucks on the side of the table, his room had black walls.
"Greetings."
"Hi!"
"Hello!"
All of the others responded, eyes glancing over the other man.
"Where's Virgil?" Rem asked.
"Here." Virgil sighed, bringing over a chair so he could sit next to Logan.
"So, these are all your soulmates." Rem hummed.
"Yep." Virgil smiled, glancing at the others.
"Can we check to see if your our soulmate?" Logan asked.
"Sure, girl. I'm curious."
"The sky is red." Patton burst out. "Aww. I wanted someone else to cuddle."
"Patton, I am sure you could still "cuddle" with him, if he is willing." Logan pointed out.
"The walls are pink." Roman said, staring at the off white paint.
"Well, none of us are soulmates." Logan sighed. "And that was a lie, so it seems we can lie to you, Rem."
"Alright. I'm cool with just Verge." Rem smirked at the brooding male, who had brought his knees to his chest, as he usually did.
"Your accent is so cool! Where are you from?" Patton cooed.
"Southern California." Rem answered. "Where you all from?"
"We've lived in Florida all our lives." Logan answered.
"Girl, Virgil lives in Florida? How are you so pale?" Rem asked slowly.
"You saw me at a Panic! Concert, wearing eyeshadow and black clothes. Do you think I go out in the sun? I don't." Virgil mocked himself.
"Emo over here has forgotten what the sun looks like at this point." Roman teased.
"I don't stare at the sun, Roman. So, no. I don't know what it looks like. If you have the sun committed to memory you might need some glasses and a brain check." Virgil smirked.
"No fighting kids!" Patton giggled.
"But dad." Virgil moaned, a smirk still across his lips.
"Girl, Virgil is precious." Rem told Logan.
"Yes, your point?"
"You make him happy." Rem said seriously.
"We're his soulmates. Of course we make him happy!" Patton jumped up.
"Girl, I can feel your cheer through the screen. I can tell it's contagious." Rem chuckled.
"Yes, it is." Roman smiled happily.
"So, what do you all do?" Rem asked. "Since Virge probably told you I work at a restaurant."
"I work as a teacher." Logan replied.
"I am an actor and waitor at a local restaurant." Roman replied.
"I sew things and sell them." Patton hummed.
"Wow, you all are so stereotypical it's scary." Rem stated. "And Virgil, do you work at hot topic?
"... I work at a pet shop." He sighed.
Rem blinked a few times, mouth dropping from his usual smile in shock. "Does that mean you work with dogs?"
"Yeah."
"You get to work with dogs? O-M-G. I need to see a pic of you playing with dogs." Rem practically shouted, the sides of his lips rising a slight bit higher than before.
"Sadly, none of us have any." Roman sighed. "This emo stops us everytime we try. It is a sight to behold, though. But we have plenty of Patton with dogs."
"As soon as I come over, I am following Virgil to his job." Rem smiled.
"Oh! I could come too, and we'd have a puppy party!" Patton smile only grew.
"It's decided." Rem nodded, then looked at the time. "Hey, it was great talking to you all, but I need to go. I lost a bet and have to treat Valerie to dinner."
"Alright, can we get your number from Virgil?" Logan asked.
"Yeah, go ahead. Just tell me who you are when you do." Rem swayed his hand. "Talk to you all later."
"Yes, goodbye." Logan dismissed.
"See ya'." Virgil sighed.
"Bye." Roman waved.
"See you later, alligator." Patton giggled, turning watching the call be cancelled. "I approve." He turned to Virgil, his smile turning to his "calming dad" one.
"Oh, thank god." Virgil mumbled under his breath.
"Agreed." Logan nodded. "He seems more extra, yet still calm."
"The word you are looking for is "cool", nerd." Roman rolled his eyes.
"Yes, I know. But it is more descriptive when you explain it." Logan rolled his eyes to mock Roman.
"Kids, what did I say about fighting?" Patton sighed, a dorky grin still on his lips.
"So, um... The Christmas decorations..." Virgil mentioned.
"Oh, yeah! Let's get that done. Unless you have any other shocking revelations that will make me drop everything?" Roman raised both his eye brows.
"Nope. I got nothing important that you don't know." Virgil sighed.
He wouldn't be able to say that if he hadn't told Roman about Logan's crush. It would have happened anyway. It didn't make him feel less guilty when he saw Logan smile as Roman put up the mistletoe. It didn't make it better when he noticed Logan mouthed the words "I love you," whenever Roman turned away from talking. It felt horrible when Logan just stared at Roman when he was pretending to read a book. It twisted his stomach when he saw that Logan did the same thing with both him and Patton. It hurt when Roman noticed, but went on silently, trying to ignore it.
But there was no changing it. Logan was getting better with his pinning, and he knew that he would be fine in about a year, most likely. But right now, it hurt. It was numbing, but it still sting, burned, and ached. He could deal with it though. Like any other loss, he'd deal with it then move on. It would just take some time.
Three hours later, the boxes were empty, the halls were decked, the tree had more ornaments than tree showing, and they all were curled up on the couch.
"You all wanna go to bed?" Patton yawned.
"Yeah," Virgil replied, rolling off the couch, getting up, then helping Logan stand.
"Which room?" Patton asked, eyes blinking quickly.
"What?" Virgil raised a brow.
"Which room do you guys wanna cuddle in?" Patton smiled.
"We could use my bed, since it's the biggest." Roman said, standing up.
"Um, cuddle? Together?" Virgil shifted uncomfortably, face going red, like Logan's was.
"We don't have to if any of you don't want to." Patton reminded everyone.
"No, I-I would like that." Virgil mumbled, playing with the strings of his jacket.
"I also agree to this arrangement." Logan stated, head high, even though he was still blushing slightly.
"Okay, everyone. Go get dressed in sleep clothes, then we meet in my room." Roman suggested, strutting to his room.
All the other brunettes walked to their rooms to get their clothes on. Virgil just took off his jacket and put on some sweatpants, Patton and Roman wore a t-shirt and some shorts, though Patton's shirt went to just above his knees, and Logan got dressed in actual sleep clothes.
They all met in Roman's room, like they had planned. Though it was awkward trying to figure out what to do.
"So..." Virgil started.
"Cuddle pile!" Patton shouted, pushing Virgil onto the bed, then Logan, followed by Patton dragging Roman onto the mattress. Patton wedged himself between Virgil and Logan, letting Roman lay next to Virgil.
They all curled around eachother until they were comfortable. "I love you all, so much." Patton yawned into Virgil's chest.
"I-I love you, too." Logan stuttered out, shoving his face into Patton's hair.
"Oh, you both beat the romantic one to it!" Roman shouted.
"You can still say it." Patton giggled.
"I love you all, with all of my heart." Roman declared, staring Patton in the eyes.
Patton smiled brightly at Virgil, eyes wide and as blue as the sky. "Virgil..."
"Oh, now you expect me to say it." Virgil sighed. "You all took turns and now all the attention is on me."
"Oh come on, say it. You can't lie to us." Patton smiled.
"Can it be an understood thing? It sounds so cheesy." Virgil rolled his eyes, though he wanted to, it was more fun to lead the others on like this.
"You're implying you love us!" Patton jumped, only being stopped from bumping his head by the fact Logan had a tight grip on him.
"Maybe." Virgil smirked. Was this a good time for a kiss? If he kissed Patton the others would expect kisses, and then he'd have to turn over to kiss Roman? Was Virgil stressing out about kissing? Yes. Yes he was.
But luckily Patton stopped him, with a kiss. Soft and simple, until Patton smiled into it, making Virgil do the same.
"You're all dorks." Virgil chuckled, as Patton pulled away.
"Your dorks." Roman smiled, pulling Virgil's chin over so he could kiss the emo. Patton quickly jumped to peck Logan on the lips, only for their glasses to clash.
"We should put these up." Logan sighed, setting his pair on the cabinet, as the ones in red and purple separated.
"One sec." Patton said, moving to the end of the bed so he could get out, then running to the other side of the bed. He slammed his hands down on the sides of Roman, then kissed Roman softly, before going back to between the other two, who had simply smiled at eachother, both their cheeks beet red.
The group went back to their original positions, both the ones with glasses had put them up. "You two look so strange without glasses." Roman claimed.
"Virgil looks different without eyeshadow." Patton pointed out. "You're the only one that doesn't have a trademark."
"It's too late to change that now." Roman sighed, tightening his grip on Virgil.
"It's too late to be up. Let's sleep. We all have work tomorrow." Logan suggested.
"Alright." Patton groaned, closing his eyes into Virgil's shirt.
They all fell asleep peacefully. All wondering about what could happen with Virgil's new soulmate. Most of them were positive thoughts, curious of if Rem would cuddle, responded to Remy, or other innocent thoughts. While Virgil thought of some of those, though he would never admit to it, he also thought of one thing that stuck out. What if Rem hates him? It was a dumb idea, until Virgil remembered his parents and Logan's were soulmates and divorced. God, he wanted to wipe the idea from his mind, but it stuck.
He just held Patton closer, and tried to forget that sinful idea. They were going to have a happy end, Virgil shouldn't worry about it. But he did anyway. He always did. Though his soulmates helped him. Helped him forget about some of his stupid problems. He could always curl up with them, squeeze them tightly, and not think. He could always drift off to sleep in their arms. Like he was doing right here.
