Melody's P.O.V.

I gulped.

I didn't want to go with them.  I know what would happen if I did.  Ursula would convince me to be with Eric on Land.  With legs.  Oh, how I missed legs.  Having a tail was fun and all, but there were still things I couldn't do with it.  With legs, I could.  And if I were to let Flotsam and Jetsam lead me to the Sea Witch, she would offer me three days on Land, and if I were to get a kiss from Eric before the sun sets on the third day, I'll stay Human.  And in return, she'll take my voice away.

I shook my head to clear it.  No.  I couldn't let that happen.  This time, my will is my own!

With a snap of determination--and also what sounded like a rip in the air, or water, in my case--I flicked my tail and sped out of Ariel's demolished Grotto, away from the two Eels who were currently pursuing me.  My own personality was kicking in, just how I had wanted if I were to ever take Ariel's place.  I'd give them a piece of my mind.

Flicking my tail harder and faster, I sped off in the Sea, only to find myself somehow sub-consciously making my way to Ursula's exiled home.  I slapped myself on the head.  How stupid could I be!?  I may be Ariel right now, but apparently her actions were still set in my mind.

This wasn't fair!

A push from behind caused me to spin forward and into a long black and purple tentacle.  One could only guess who that belonged to.  I knew Flounder and Sebastian had followed me, though, so that reassured me just a tad, but I'm gonna admit this: Ursula was just plain scary.

I always found her creepy, so now that I was in her presence and listening to her sing the musical 'Poor Unfortunate Souls' like in the movie, and my hand moved of it's own accord across the golden contract that sealed the deal despite me yelling at myself to stop, I began crying on the inside as I watched Ariel's singing and speaking voice being taken away right before my eyes.  I clutched my throat in despair as the transformation from fins to feet began to take over my body, forcing the Sea out of my lungs and the need for air to press against my chest as Flounder and Sebastian hurried to get me to the surface.

Once I broke through and took in a deep gulp of fresh, salty air, Ariel's friends helped me to shore where I passed out from extreme exhaustion.

Waking up the following morning, I sat up and moved my now long red hair out of my face, trying to stand up only for me to wobble precariously on my new legs.  I've had legs before, so why was I suddenly not used to them?  I guess being Ariel 'The Little Mermaid' wasn't so easy after all.

Sebastian wouldn't stop going on and on about how Ariel's father, King Triton, would react to all this, and I merely laughed at him.  Only for no sound to come out.  I gasped, which didn't really help as I clutched my throat once more.  Oh no!  It can't be true!  I'd really lost my voice to the Evil Sea Witch!

"Hey, down there!"

Looking up, I smiled when I saw Scuttle the Seagull.  He was the one who helped Ariel dress up in the old ship sail.  "Scuttle!" I tried calling, but no sound came out.  I grasped my throat again.  It really was gone.

Tears welled up in my eyes until Scuttle helped me improvise the sail into a make-shift dress.  Then I heard barking.  My head snapped up to see Max, Eric's sheep dog, running along the beach as he ran towards me, and me being afraid of dogs, hopped up on the nearest rock as I heard a voice call out, "Max!  Max, where are ya', boy?"  I slowly lifted my now ocean blue eyes up to meet his dark blue ones.

It was Prince Eric.

He was even more handsome than he was in the movie.  I sighed in awe.  Eric was still gorgeous despite him not even being mine.  But since I was currently Ariel right now-

I smiled.  Maybe I would be able to get that kiss before the actual Ariel did in the movie.

Well, it was worth a shot.

Another update before I have to go to bed XP Tia will be next tomorrow!  Hope you all enjoyed!  (And yes, these chapters are short for a reason, because if you haven't noticed, I'm writing in 5 different P.O.V.'s) ._.
