Chapter Fifteen
Belle's P.O.V.
"Gaston, don't!" I shouted up at the rooftop where the evil Villain of my fairy tale was about to slay Beast, until he saw that I had come back did he get up and fight. "Let's go, Phillipe!" I urged the Clydesdale to the Castle as he burst in through the doors and I hastily jumped off his back, before running for the spiraling stairs that would lead to the Beasts' balcony.
After Beast saved me from the wolves, my time here became a bit easier. We even had the 'Tale As Old As Time' Ball dance with me in Belle's magnificent golden yellow Ball gown, and Beast dressed in his old human royal garments. It was just so magical. And he even gave me a library since I loved books so much. But then there was Belle's father that I had to save, leaving Beast behind even though I didn't want to, and he allowed me to take the magic mirror with me so that I could see him whenever I wanted to. Which I hoped would be all the time.
After I brought Belle's father, Maurice, home, that's when the town decided to put him in the loony bin until I proved the Beast was real, and with the mirror's help, it made that happen. But then there was Gaston. He was the real monster. And he proved me right by going after the Beast. After locking me and Belle's father in the basement, Chip, the small teacup that had stowed away in my bag when I left the Castle, helped break us out with Maurice's wood chopping machine, allowing me and Maurice to get to the Castle so that I could save Beast.
"Beast!" I shouted from over the balcony, the hood of my cloak pulled back as the wind and rain poured down on me as I reached a hand down to Beast, gripping it gently with the giant fingers of his paw. He cupped my cheek, and I buried my face into his gentle touch.
"You came back," he whispered, when he suddenly roared loudly. I knew that roar too well. That was a roar of immense pain.
I grabbed Beasts' cloak, and pulled him onto the balcony as Gaston fumbled to get a grip of something after having stabbed Beast in the side of his abdomen with a dagger, only to fall to the dark depths below. Good. He could go die in a ditch for all I cared. I never liked him, anyhow.
I helped Beast lay on his back as he struggled to breathe, my eyes filling with unshed tears as he cupped my face in his large pawed hand. I let the tears fall as he gave me one last smile, before his paw dropped from my face. I covered my mouth to keep from sobbing hysterically as I tried to get him to wake up, only to no avail. I placed my head on his chest and cried. I didn't want to lose him. I fell for him. I didn't want him to die for me. "I love you," I whispered, my tears mingling with the rain as they fell on top of us heavily.
That's when the sparks flew down. They were everywhere. They surrounded Beasts' body as it was lifted up and floated mid-air, a bright white light glowing around him. First I saw his paws turn to hands and fingers, then his claws to feet and toes, and finally, his face. His body was slowly placed back down on the ground as I edged closer to him, when he suddenly moved and I jumped back in fright.
I watched as he examined himself before spinning around to face me, those blue eyes just so intense as I gaped at him. He was finally human.
"Belle, it's me," Beast said while stepping forward and into the light. I frowned at him and reached a hesitant hand up, before threading my fingers through his light blonde lockes that had once matched his fur, when his eyes caught mine, and they matched the boy in the painting I had seen when I had first entered the West Wing.
"It is you," I smiled and leaned into his touch as he cupped my cheek and leaned forward, pulling me close for our lips to meet in a heated kiss when a bright yellow light blocked my path, and instead of being in Beasts' arms, I was now in front of a Well where I collapsed to my knees, my breathing shallow as I choked on my sobs.
I was finally free. I was finally able to go back home. I would miss Beast, though, but then again, he didn't know I wasn't actually Belle, so I guess it all worked out in the end.
Once I got control of my breathing, I looked up when a hand was placed gently on my shoulder and came face-to-face with four other girls that resembled very similar Princesses, and was now just reminded that my hair was back to it's normal red color and my eyes back to their ordinary pale green. I was me again.
I wiped my tears and swallowed deeply so that I could speak, "So. . .who was which Princess?"
