Maeve walked into the Great Hall for breakfast.
"Hi, I'm Rose Weasley," said a Ravenclaw. "Would you like to sit with my friends and me?"
Maeve looked at the group of girls who weren't Hufflepuffs. "If I won't be a bother."
"Nonsense."
Maeve sat down next to Rose. The group of girls ate as they peeked at her multiple times. One girl put down her fork.
"I'm Mallory Hudson," said the Hufflepuff.
"I'm Lily Potter," said the Ravenclaw.
"Ah - Harry Potter's daughter?" Maeve questioned.
She nodded. "Always will be."
"He's done great things. I'm sure you're lucky to have a family," Maeve responded with a smile before sipping from her mug of hot chocolate.
Everyone froze at her words. Maeve continued on eating. Talking about her dead parents or the lack of family figures didn't affect her that much. There was one thing Maeve wasn't used to - love and affection. She knew the concept of it, but she couldn't understand it. But, dear Helga, she wanted to.
Because of the blood curse placed upon her, she had no choice but to strive for true love, but it was fruitless because of how modern men acted. They treated women like trash, but who was to say women didn't do that either?
The blood curse was placed upon her family by an angry witch dated back to the 1600s. It would affect every other generation's female. Maeve's grandmother didn't break the curse. She ended up impregnated by a man she didn't love - just so that her family line would live on.
It skipped Maeve's mother and went to Maeve. If she didn't get true love's kiss by the time she turned eighteen, then she would die. Maeve ventured out into the world, kissing Muggle men and wizards. There was even a period of time where she wondered if a woman was her true love. She still didn't know the answer to that.
Louis walked into the Great Hall with goals of talking to Maeve and hopefully winning her over on his first try. He approached the group of girls and slid onto the bench next to Maeve.
"Hello, I'm Louis Weasley."
Maeve looked over her shoulder to see a grinning Louis. "Maeve."
He winked. "So I've heard."
The girls - excluding Maeve - all groaned. Maeve seemed interested in Louis, a coy smirk on her face.
"And you've heard what exactly?" she asked.
"Are they flirting now?" whispered Polly.
"I'm afraid so," whispered Rose.
"Only that the most beautiful woman in the Wizarding World is here at Hogwarts," said Louis.
Maeve chuckled, leaning forward to pat Louis's atm gently. "Surely I'm not the most beautiful woman ever. I believe it to be your mother. After all, she did conceive you."
He raised an eyebrow. "Trying to butter up my mother already? Perhaps I'll take you to the next family dinner."
Maeve chuckled, turning back to her unfinished breakfast. "Whatever you say, Louis."
