Chapter-31: Together Again

Mukti and Alya arrived at the sleek, modern building of Infinite Talents, their hearts pounding with excitement and a hint of nervousness. This was the moment they had been preparing for, and the significance of it wasn’t lost on them. As they walked through the entrance, the receptionist, a cheerful young woman, greeted them with a warm smile.

"Good morning! You must be Mukti and Alya. Please, follow me to the conference room. Miss. Murty and Mrs. Sehgal will be with you shortly," the receptionist said, gesturing toward a corridor.

Mukti and Alya exchanged a look of anticipation and followed her. The conference room was spacious, with large windows that let in plenty of natural light. A sleek, polished table stood in the center, surrounded by comfortable chairs. They took their seats, trying to calm their nerves.

"I can't believe we're finally here," Alya whispered, her voice filled with excitement. "This is huge for us."

Mukti nodded, equally excited. "Yeah, and to think we're going to be working with such big names in the industry. It's surreal."

Just then, the door opened, and Vishakha and Bela walked in. Both women exuded an aura of confidence and warmth. They greeted Mukti and Alya with friendly smiles.

"Good morning, ladies. I’m Vishakha, and this is Bela," Vishakha said, extending her hand for a handshake.

Mukti and Alya stood up, shaking hands with them. "It's an honor to meet you both," Mukti said, her voice steady despite the fluttering in her stomach.

Bela smiled warmly. "The pleasure is ours. We’ve heard great things about you two. Please, have a seat."

They all settled down around the table, the atmosphere both professional and welcoming.

Vishakha began the meeting. "First of all, congratulations on being selected. We are very excited to have you both on board as our new designer and brand ambassador. We believe you’ll bring fresh and innovative ideas to Infinite Talents."

Alya's eyes sparkled with admiration. "Thank you so much. I’ve always looked up to you, Bela Mam. Your work in the modeling industry has greatly inspired me."

Bela smiled a hint of nostalgia in her eyes. "Thank you, Alya. It’s always wonderful to hear that my work has had a positive impact. Although I’ve stepped away from modeling, I’m deeply involved in the creative and strategic aspects of the industry now."

Mukti chimed in, her enthusiasm was evident. "I’m thrilled to be working with you both. Infinite Talents has always set the benchmark in the industry, and I can’t wait to contribute to its legacy."

Vishakha nodded appreciatively. "We’re glad to hear that, Mukti. We have some exciting projects lined up, and we’re confident that your skills and vision will help us take them to new heights."

They spent the next hour discussing the details of the upcoming projects. Vishakha outlined the goals and expectations, while Bela shared insights into the creative direction they wanted to pursue. Mukti and Alya listened intently, absorbing every detail, eager to dive into their new roles.

Alya spoke up during a pause in the conversation. "I have to say, it’s incredible to be part of something this significant. Infinite Talents has always been at the forefront of the industry, and being part of its evolution is a dream come true."

Bela smiled. "We’re glad you feel that way. We’re always looking for new talent to help us stay ahead of the curve. Your energy and passion are exactly what we need."

Mukti added, "I’m particularly excited about the collaborative nature of this role. I believe that by working together, we can create something truly remarkable."

Vishakha leaned forward, her eyes gleaming with enthusiasm. "That’s the spirit we’re looking for. Collaboration is key to our success, and we’re thrilled to have you both as part of our team."

As the meeting drew to a close, Mukti and Alya felt a renewed sense of confidence and excitement. They had been welcomed warmly and allowed to contribute to something much larger than themselves.

Vishakha stood up, signaling the end of the meeting. "We’ll be in touch with more details and schedules. Welcome to Infinite Talents. We’re looking forward to working with you."

Bela added, "And if you ever need any guidance or have any questions, don’t hesitate to reach out. We’re here to support you."

Mukti and Alya stood up, their faces glowing with excitement. "Thank you so much. We’re excited to get started," Mukti said.

As they left the conference room, Mukti and Alya couldn’t help but feel a surge of pride and anticipation. They had just taken the first step toward a new and exciting chapter in their careers, and they were ready to embrace every challenge and opportunity that came their way.

Manik was on his way to Paradise Point, the home he and Nandini had here in Mumbai. He could hardly contain his excitement; it had been too long since he last saw her.

As his car pulled up to the driveway, he took a deep breath, a smile tugging at his lips. He quietly entered the house, the familiar scent and warmth of their home instantly making him feel at ease.

He could hear soft humming coming from the kitchen. Moving silently, he made his way toward the sound. There she was, Nandini, busy with her back turned, unaware of his presence. He couldn’t help but pause for a moment, simply watching her.

With a playful glint in his eyes, he stepped closer and gently wrapped his arms around her waist, pulling her into a back hug. Nandini gasped in surprise, her initial startle melting into a relaxed sigh as she recognized his familiar touch and warmth.

“Manik,” she whispered, turning around to face him.

Her eyes lit up with joy and relief as she threw her arms around his neck, hugging him tightly.

Manik reciprocated the hug, lifting her slightly off the ground in his embrace.

“Nandini,” he murmured against her hair, feeling the comforting rhythm of her heartbeat against his chest.

Still holding her, he walked over to the kitchen counter and gently set her down on the slab. They finally broke the hug, but their hands remained intertwined, their eyes locked in a silent conversation of longing and love.

“I missed you so much,” Nandini said, her voice soft and filled with emotion. She traced the contours of his face with her fingers as if trying to memorize every detail.

Manik leaned into her touch, his heart swelling with affection. “I missed you more, Moonshine. It felt like forever since I last held you.” He brought her hand to his lips and kissed it tenderly.

Nandini smiled, her eyes shimmering with unshed tears. “You’re here now. That’s all that matters.” She pulled him closer, resting her forehead against his.

Manik wrapped his arms around her waist, savoring the closeness. “I couldn’t wait any longer. The moment I landed, all I could think about was you.”

Nandini chuckled softly. “I was counting down the minutes until you arrived.”

Manik’s expression softened. “I promise, I’ll make up for all the lost time. Starting right now.”

They spent a few moments in comfortable silence, simply enjoying each other’s presence. Manik ran his fingers through her hair, and Nandini closed her eyes, relishing the sensation.

Later, as they sat together on the couch, Nandini rested her head on Manik’s shoulder, feeling a profound sense of contentment.

“Thank you for coming back to me,” she whispered.

Manik kissed the top of her head. “I’ll always come back to you, Nandini. No matter what.”

Manik looked at his watch and sighed. “We should leave now, Nandini. I have a meeting, and Mom and Dad are waiting for me.”

Nandini’s face fell slightly at the news. She tried to hide her disappointment, but Manik noticed.

He gently cupped her face, tilting it up to meet his eyes. “Don’t worry, Nandu. We’ll meet soon. I’m here for a long time this time.”

Nandini nodded, managing a small smile. “Okay. I understand. Go and conquer that meeting.”

Manik grinned and gave her a quick kiss. “That’s my girl. Now, let’s get you to the hospital.”

They walked out of the house together, their hands intertwined. Manik opened the car door for Nandini and then got in on the driver’s side. The drive to the hospital was filled with light conversation and stolen glances, each cherishing these moments of togetherness.

When they reached the hospital, Manik parked the car and turned to Nandini. “Have a great day at work. I’ll call you later.”

Nandini leaned in and gave him a quick kiss. “You too, Manik. Don’t forget to take care of yourself.”

Manik smiled. “Always. Now, go save some lives.”

Nandini laughed and got out of the car. She waved at him as she walked into the hospital, and Manik watched her until she disappeared inside. He took a deep breath, feeling a mix of contentment and anticipation. He was back in India, back with Nandini, and ready to face whatever challenges came his way.

Manik then started his car and headed towards Sehgal Industries. The city buzzed with activity, but his mind was still replaying the moments he had just spent with Nandini. He couldn’t wait to see her again and make up for all the lost time.

As he pulled into the parking lot of Sehgal Industries, he composed himself, ready to take on the business meeting. He walked into the building with confidence, looking forward to the collaboration and the future it would bring.

Manik parked the car and spotted his parents, Raj and Neyonika, waiting for him. He quickly joined them, and the three of them walked towards the entrance of Sehgal Industries together.

As they entered the building, the receptionist greeted them warmly. "Good morning, Mr. Malhotra, Mrs. Malhotra, Mr. Manik. Please follow me to the conference room."

They followed her down a corridor and into a spacious conference room. Moments later, Mahir entered, greeting them with a friendly smile.

“Mr. Malhotra, Mrs. Malhotra, and young man Manik, welcome! It’s a pleasure to have you here.”

Manik’s eyes widened in surprise as he recognized Mahir. He knew him from the pictures Nandini had shown him and realized that Mahir was Navya’s father. He quickly composed himself, but Neyonika noticed his brief hesitation.

“Manik, is everything okay?” she asked, giving him a curious look.

Manik snapped back to reality and smiled. “Yes, Mom, everything’s fine. Just a bit surprised, that’s all.”

He greeted Mahir with a firm handshake. “Mr. Sehgal, it’s great to meet you. I’ve heard a lot about your work.”

Mahir chuckled, not noticing Manik's initial surprise. “The pleasure is mine, Young Man. Let’s get started, shall we?”

The meeting commenced, and the discussions were intense and productive. They covered various aspects of the collaboration, from project timelines to resource allocation.

Manik was deeply involved, his professional demeanor masking the thoughts running through his mind about the unexpected connection with Mahir.

Raj and Neyonika contributed their insights, and Mahir was impressed by their thoroughness and expertise. The meeting progressed smoothly, and both parties were satisfied with the plans they had laid out.

During a short break, Manik couldn’t help but chuckle to himself about the coincidence. He kept it to himself, knowing that revealing this information now wouldn’t be appropriate. He was amused by how small the world could be, and he couldn’t wait to share this with Nandini later.

As the meeting concluded, Mahir stood up and extended his hand once again. “I’m looking forward to this collaboration. It’s going to be a fruitful partnership.”

Raj shook his hand firmly. “Absolutely, Mr. Sehgal. We’re excited to work together.”

Neyonika smiled warmly. “Thank you for your hospitality, Mr. Sehgal. We appreciate it.”

Manik shook Mahir’s hand, maintaining his composure. “Thank you, Mr. Sehgal. I’m looking forward to the success we’ll achieve together.”

With the meeting wrapped up, they exchanged a few more pleasantries before leaving the conference room. As they walked out, Manik felt a mix of excitement and curiosity about how this new development would unfold. He was eager to share everything with Nandini and see where this coincidence would lead them.
