Chapter-28: India Bound

Manik sat at his desk, going through the final details of the upcoming collaboration with Sehgal Industries. His father, Raj, entered the room, carrying a file with the latest updates on the project.

"Manik, are you ready for the meeting with Sehgal Industries?" Raj asked, sitting down across from him.

"Yes, Dad. I've reviewed all the documents. This collaboration is going to be a game-changer for us," Manik replied, handing over a report.

Raj nodded, skimming through the papers. "Sehgal Industries has a strong foothold in India. Their expertise in the local market will be invaluable for our expansion plans."

"I agree. This partnership is exactly what we need to establish our presence there," Manik said, leaning back in his chair. "By the way, when do we leave for India?"

"We need to be there next week," Raj answered, looking up from the report. "We’ll be staying for a few months to ensure everything goes smoothly."

Manik's eyes lit up. "Next week? That's sooner than I expected. I’ll start making the necessary arrangements."

Raj stood up, a satisfied smile on his face. "Good. Let's head home and inform your mother about the trip."

As they walked into their luxurious home, Neyonika was in the living room, flipping through a magazine. She looked up, smiling as her husband and son entered.

"How was your day?" she asked, setting the magazine aside.

"Busy, as always," Raj replied, sitting beside her. "But we have some news. We need to go to India next week for a few months."

Neyonika's eyes widened in surprise. "India? It's been years since I last visited. I think I’ll join you. It will be nice to see the place again."

Manik grinned. "That’s great, Mom. It’ll be a family trip."

Just then, Mukti and Alya entered the room, their faces lit with excitement.

"Uncle, Aunty, we have some news!" Alya announced, barely able to contain her excitement.

Neyonika smiled at them. "What is it, dear?"

Mukti stepped forward. "Alya has been selected as the brand ambassador, and I’ve been chosen as the designer for a renowned company in India."

Raj raised an eyebrow, intrigued. "Which company?"

"Infinite Talent," Alya replied, beaming.

Neyonika clapped her hands together, delighted. "That's wonderful news! Looks like this will indeed be a family trip."

Manik couldn’t hide his excitement. "This is amazing. We’ll all be together in India.

Raj nodded approvingly. "It's good to see you so enthusiastic, Manik. Just remember, we have a lot of work ahead of us."

"I know, Dad. But I’m ready for it," Manik said confidently.

Neyonika stood up, her excitement infectious. "We have so much to prepare. I need to pack, and we should all make sure everything is for the trip."

As they all started discussing their plans, Manik felt a surge of happiness. The thought of seeing Nandini again filled him with joy, and he couldn’t wait to tell her the news. He quickly pulled out his phone and sent her a message.

"Guess what? I’m coming to India next week! We’re going to be there for a few months. Can’t wait to see you!"

He hit send, his heart racing with anticipation. The thought of being close to Nandini again made him feel like he was on top of the world.

Later that evening, the family gathered in the living room, discussing their plans in more detail. The excitement was palpable, and the anticipation of the trip to India brought a sense of unity and joy.

"Mom, do you remember that little café we used to visit?" Mukti asked, her eyes sparkling with nostalgia. "We have to go there again."

Neyonika smiled, reminiscing. "Of course, I do. It’s one of my favorite places. We’ll definitely go."

Raj looked at his family, feeling a deep sense of pride and happiness. "This trip is going to be special for all of us. Let’s make the most of it."

Manik couldn’t help but smile. The thought of being in India, surrounded by his family, and reuniting with Nandini made him feel more alive than ever. The future was bright, and he was ready to embrace it with open arms.

Manik walked into his room, still buzzing with excitement from the day’s events. He was eager to tell Nandini about the trip and see her reaction. As he settled into his bed, his phone rang with a video call from Nandini. A wide smile spread across his face as he picked it up.

"Nandini!" he greeted, his voice filled with warmth.

"Manik!" Nandini shouted in excitement, her eyes sparkling. "I just got your message. You're coming to India! I can't believe it!"

Manik chuckled, his heart swelling with happiness at seeing her so animated. "Yes, I am. And I can't wait to see you."

Nandini's smile was infectious. "I’m so excited, Manik! I’ve been missing you so much. This is the best news ever."

Manik leaned back, feeling a sense of contentment wash over him. "I missed you too, Nandini. More than you can imagine."

Nandini’s eyes softened, and she touched the screen as if trying to reach out to him. "I know, Manik. It’s been hard without you. But now that you’re coming, everything feels right again."

Manik’s heart warmed at her words. "I’m glad to hear that. So, tell me, how have you been? What’s been happening on your end?"

Nandini’s face lit up as she began to recount her days. "Things have been busy with work and family. But we had so much fun on the trip, and it was great to spend time with everyone."

Manik listened intently, his eyes never leaving the screen. He loved hearing her talk, her voice a soothing balm to his soul. "That sounds amazing. I wish I could have been there longer."

Nandini nodded, her expression turning serious for a moment. "I wish that too. But now you’re coming back, and we’ll make up for lost time."

Manik smiled, his eyes twinkling with mischief. "You know, I didn’t tell you this, but my mom, dad, Mukti, and Alya will be coming too. It’s going to be a family trip."

Nandini’s eyes widened in surprise. "Really? That’s wonderful!"

"Yes, it will be." Manik said, his heart full.

They continued talking, sharing stories and sweet nothings. Manik teased Nandini, making her blush several times.

"So, do you remember that time we got caught sneaking out of school?" Manik asked with a grin.

Nandini laughed, her cheeks turning pink. "How could I forget? You convinced me to take that bike, and we ended up getting detention for a week."

Manik chuckled. "Hey, it was worth it. We had so much fun that day."

"True," Nandini agreed, her eyes sparkling with fond memories. "You always know how to make things exciting."

Manik’s smile softened. "And you always know how to make me feel better. Remember my birthday when I was feeling down because I was away from my parents?"

Nandini’s expression turned tender. "Of course. I couldn’t let you be sad on your birthday. We had a blast, didn’t we?"

"Yes, we did," Manik said, his voice filled with gratitude. "You made it special, just like you always do."

They talked for a long time, sharing memories and dreams for the future. The conversation flowed easily, filled with laughter and love.

Eventually, the hour grew late, and they knew they had to end the call. Manik looked at Nandini, his eyes full of affection. "I wish I could stay on this call forever, but we both need some rest."

Nandini nodded, her eyes shining with love. "I know, Manik. But soon we’ll be together, and we won’t need to say goodnight over a call."

"Yes, soon," Manik agreed, his heart soaring with anticipation. "Goodnight, Nandini. I love you."

"Goodnight, Manik. I love you too," Nandini replied, her voice soft and filled with emotion.

They ended the call, both feeling a sense of peace and happiness. Manik lay back in bed, a smile on his face, thinking about the days to come. He couldn’t wait to be in India, to be with Nandini, and to create new memories together.

As he drifted off to sleep, his dreams were filled with visions of her, and the future they would share.

Nandini ended the call with Manik, a smile lingering on her lips as she turned around. Suddenly, she froze. Navya stood there with a smirk, her arms crossed over her chest.

"Nandini, who were you talking to?" Navya asked, her tone teasing.

Nandini’s heart raced. She wasn’t ready for anyone to know about her relationship with Manik yet. She plastered a nervous smile on her face. "Oh, just...a friend."

Navya raised an eyebrow, stepping closer. "A friend, huh? You seemed pretty cozy for just a friend."

Nandini let out a sigh of relief, realizing Navya hadn’t recognized Manik’s voice. "Okay, okay. It was…him."

Navya pouted playfully. "Come on, Nandini! You can’t leave me hanging like this. When will I meet him? Or at least tell me his name."

Nandini took a deep breath, deciding to give Navya something to hold onto. "You’ll meet him soon. Probably next week."

Navya’s face lit up with excitement. "Next week? That’s great! I can’t wait to meet this mystery man."

Nandini forced a smile, feeling a mix of excitement and nervousness. "Yeah, me too."

Navya gave her a quick hug. "I’m so happy for you, Nandini. You deserve to be with someone who makes you this happy."

As Navya left the room, Nandini sat down on her bed, her mind racing. She knew she had to tell Navya the truth about her relationship with Manik soon. She couldn’t keep it a secret forever. And she also needed to tell her mother.

Nandini stared at her phone, thinking about how to break the news. She loved Manik deeply, and she knew that their relationship was something special. But revealing it to her family and friends was a big step. She took a deep breath, reminding herself that honesty was the best way forward.

She picked up her phone again, scrolling through her photos, stopping at a picture of her and Manik from their school days. They looked so happy together, carefree, and full of dreams. She smiled, remembering the fun they had shared over the years.

Nandini smiled at the memory, feeling a warm glow in her heart. Manik had always been there for her, supporting her dreams and encouraging her to be her best self. She knew that their love was strong enough to withstand any challenges.

She took a deep breath, steeling herself for the conversations ahead. She would tell Navya the truth, and then she would talk to her mother. It was time to bring their relationship out into the open, to share their love with the people who mattered most.

As she sat there, lost in her thoughts, she heard a knock on her door. "Nandini, are you okay?" Navya’s voice called out.

Nandini smiled, feeling a sense of calm wash over her. "Yes, Navya. I’m okay. Just thinking about how lucky I am to have such amazing people in my life."

Navya entered the room, her eyes filled with curiosity and concern. "You’re not just saying that, are you? Because if something’s bothering you, you know you can tell me."

Nandini shook her head, reaching out to take Navya’s hand. "I’m not just saying it. I’m truly grateful for everything. And soon, you’ll understand why."

Navya nodded, squeezing her hand. "I’m here for you, Nandini. Whatever it is, we’ll face it together."

Nandini felt a surge of gratitude for her friend. She knew that with Navya’s support, she could face any challenge.

She smiled, feeling more confident than ever. "Thank you, Navya. That means a lot to me."

They sat together, talking and laughing, the bond between them growing stronger. Nandini knew that she was ready to share her secret, to bring her relationship with Manik into the light. And with the support of her loved ones, she knew that everything would be okay.
