Rouge was walking home from a party at Sonic's house. "I'll never see him again." Rouge said between sobs as she walked in the streets of the city. Rouge tried to stop crying and forgot about her ex but the events from the party still came back into her mind.

Flashback

 Sonic and Amy were kissing and Rouge got a bit jealous because she and Knuckles weren't kissing. Rouge walked into the living room to talk with her boyfriend. Knuckles was talking with Tikal and Rouge decided to don't interrupt their conversation and waited but what she saw next broke her heart. Knuckles  and Tikal started kissing and Rouge just stood their and watched. Two minutes later the two echidna stopped kissing and turned to the door because they wanted to get something to drink and Knuckles immediately stopped. "Rouge, I can explain ..." Knuckles said but was interrupted because Rouge slapped him. "You don't have to explain anything!" Rouge yelled and ran out of Sonic's house. 

End of the flashback

Rouge stopped and looked into an dark alley. "I'll take a shortcut." Rouge thought and went into the dark alley. After two minutes she felt like someone was following her but saw nobody. Rouge started to go faster and was suddenly pinned to the wall. "Hey beautiful, give me all your money or die!" someone commanded. Rouge couldn't see the face of the person and tried to get away from him but failed. The unknown person took her by the neck and pulled her up. Rouge panicked and struggled even more than before. 

"HEY, let her go and fight someone your own size!" someone behind the unknown person said. "That's none of your business so piss off." the unknown said. "I warn you, let her go or you'll get in big problems!" the deep voice from the other person warned. Rouge looked over the unknown person's shoulder and could see a muscular black Hedgehog/Wolf with beautiful red eyes. The unknown person get angry and let go of the bat. Rouge, who was lost in the other person's eyes just a second ago, hit her head on the ground and blacked out.

Rouge woke up in an unknown place. "Where am I." she thought and sit up but felt a little dizzy. "Ouch, okay what was I doing yesterday?" Rouge asked herself and looked around the room she was in. The room looked like a living room because their was a couch on which she was lying and a TV in front of the couch. Suddenly a door opened and a black Hedgehog/Wolf came into the room. "Hi, how are you feeling?" the Hedgehog/Wolf asked and sat down in the armchair. As Rouge saw him all events from the day before came back in her mind. "Except that my boyfriend had betrayed me yesterday and that I got attacked, I'm fine. Thanks for asking and who are you?" Rouge replied. "Oh sorry, I'm Ryan Cage and who are you?" Ryan answered. "I'm Rouge the Bat. ... What happened after I blacked out?" Rouge asked and looked him in the eyes. "He has so beautiful eyes ... Rouge stop thinking that, your boyfriend just betrayed you!" Rouge thought and continued starring into the Hedgehog/Wolf's eyes. "Well ...

Flashback

The unknown person dropped Rouge and starred angry at Ryan. "Who do you think you are? Piss of or you'll wake up in hospital, that's if somebody should find you." the unknown person said. "We will see about that." Ryan said and smirked at the unknown person. The unknown person dodged the first hit of Ryan and tried now to hit him. Ryan stepped back until his back touched the wall and he waited for the next move of his rival. The unknown person wanted to hit Ryan in the face but before his fist could hit Ryan, Ryan took a step to the right and the fist of the unknown person hit the wall. The unknown person cried out in pain but couldn't continue his screaming because Ryan hit him in the face and the unknown person hit his head on the wall and blacked out.

End of flashback 

"... then I brought you to my place because you blacked out and I couldn't have left you in that dark alley with that guy, could I." Ryan said and grinned at Rouge. "That reminds me, what where you doing at this hour in that alley?" Ryan asked. "Well I went home from a party and wanted to take a shortcut to my house." Rouge replied and started crying again because she remembered Knuckles. "Why are you crying?" Ryan asked worried. "Sorry but I just ran away from that party because of my boyfriend, well ex-boyfriend now." Rouge replied.  "Your ex have to be blind or really stupid because you're the most beautiful girl I have ever seen." Ryan said and got lost in Rouge's eyes. "Well, you're also handsome." Rouge replied and started blushing while getting lost in Ryan's eyes. 

"I have to kiss him ... no, Rouge stop thinking about that ... but he's so good looking and I could need a new boyfriend ... Rouge stop that though you don't even know if he loves you too! ... yes I know but I have to kiss him." Rouge thought and noticed that their faces were just a few inches away from each other. After two seconds they kissed each other and Rouge put her hands around Ryan's neck while Ryan put his hands around Rouge's waste and pulled her closer. 

After five minutes they stopped kissing because they were running out of air and immediately pulled away from each other. "Sorry, I shouldn't have done that." Ryan said and looked at Rouge again. "It's okay, I was actually all the time thinking about kissing you after I saw you the first time." Rouge replied. "Oh, then would it be okay when I ask you if you would like to go on a date tonight?" Ryan asked. "I would love to." Rouge replied and was now also looking back at Ryan. "Well I have to go home." Rouge said and walked to the door. "I'll pick you up at eight, if that's okay for you." Ryan said. "That's fine by me. See you at eight then. Bye!" Rouge answered. "Bye!" Ryan replied and closed the door behind Rouge.

7:30 p.m. at Rouge's house

"What dress should I wear? ... Come on Rouge think faster, you have just half an hour left!" Rouge thought and searched for a suitable dress. "Ah, perfect." Rouge said to her self as she pulled a blue dress out of her closet. After fifteen minutes she was done and sat down on her couch and waited for Ryan. "I hope he likes my outfit." Rouge thought and turned the TV on.

At exactly eight o'clock the doorbell rang and Rouge was even more excited than before. She opened the door and in front of her stand her lover. "Hi Rouge, you look beautiful." Ryan said as he saw her blue dress. "Thanks, you look handsome too." Rouge replied and got lost in his ruby eyes again. "Shall we?" Ryan asked and took her hand. "Sure." Rouge replied and went beside him. 

As Ryan drove away from Rouge's house, Rouge got impatient and asked "What have you planned for tonight?" "You'll see, it's a surprise." Ryan answered and concentrated on the street again. "Okay, but I'm so impatient." Rouge replied and looked again out of the window. After ten minutes driving Ryan stopped the car and Rouge looked even more excited out of the window. "We are eating in a five star restaurant?" Rouge asked as she and Ryan stepped out of the car. "Yeah, I hope you like it. I heard it's the best restaurant in the town." Ryan replied and took Rouge's hand. 

Their table was in the tenth floor and the walls were made of glass and you could see the whole city. "Wow, it's beautiful." Rouge said as she looked out of the window. "I knew you would like it." Ryan replied and both took their seats. After Ryan and Rouge ordered their food, Rouge looked at Ryan. "Thanks." Rouge said all of a sudden. "Why do you thank me?" Ryan asked confused. "Because I had no reason to cry the whole day because of my ex. Thanks to you I had to think about someone way better than Knuckles." Rouge replied and got lost in his eyes again. "You're welcome." Ryan replied and also get lost in Rouge's eyes. They would have kissed again if the waiter hasn't come with their food. "Here's your food, I hope you like it." the waiter said. "Thanks." Ryan and Rouge said at the same time and the waiter went away. 

After half an hour they finished their food and again looked in each others eyes. "You have the most beautiful eyes I've ever seen." Ryan said. "Thanks and your eyes remind me of a ruby. And I love those gems." Rouge replied. "Thanks, and thanks that you remind me on something." Ryan said and took a small present out of his jacket. "What's that?" Rouge asked. "Just a little present. I saw it and immediately thought about you." Ryan replied. Rouge opened the present and gasped. "Wow that's beautiful." Rouge said as she took a gold necklace with a heart made of ruby out of the box. "And would you like to be my girlfriend?" Ryan asked. "Oh I would love to." Rouge answered and locked their lips. Fireworks explode in the background and Rouge noticed them as one fireworks form was like a heart. "Have you planned the firework?" Rouge asked excited. "Yeah." Ryan answered and was again kissed from Rouge. "I love you." Rouge said. "I love you too." Ryan replied and the two started kissing again.
