Getting to Artemis' house about twenty minutes later, her arms stuffed with her princess pink pillow, Megan went up to the door, and rang the doorbell. Her backpack, now holding all her hygiene items along with a change of clothes, was repositioned back on her, and she was excited. Artemis opened the door, and said, "Good, you're here. Zee told me she'd be a few minutes late. Something about having to finish some extracurricular subject, her father is making her take." Megan asked, "Wait, isn't Zee's dad the English teacher, Mr. Zatara? He seemed kind of strict about her doing things other than school stuff, when we asked him the last time." Artemis answered, "He usually is, but this time, I was able to convince him we weren't going to do anything illegal, like egging or TPing someone's house." Megan grinned, "Right? And he believed you...Artemis, practically everyone knows that you like a good practical joke or an illegal attempt to do so. Remember the principal last year, when you glued him to his seat?" Artemis laughed, "He was soo mad!!! It was hilarious!" "He about had you expelled for that conduct, but yours truly saved your hind." Megan reminded. Artemis smiled, "Right. Thanks for that. I never would have met Wally or you, if I had been expelled for a practical joke." Megan replied, "You're welcome. So, what's the agenda for tonight?" Artemis answered, "Well, I was thinking first we'd order pizza from Domino's. They always have the best pizza ever. Then, maybe we'd do our nails and watch a movie. After, we could just sit and talk about boys. You know, try to convince you to talk to Conner about the dance..." Megan replied shakily, "I don't know, Artemis. I'm not like you in that way. You know I can't talk to Conner without stuttering. Besides, what if somebody's already asked him? He's got to have someone, considering he's the school's star quarterback! Any girl could have him, if they wanted. Me? I don't think so..." Artemis firmly declared, "Megan Morse, you are going to ask that boy to the dance, whether you want to or not. You need to take control. If he hasn't noticed you, then take action. I say you make him jealous. Make him notice you. You may not realize this, but you and he are perfect for each other. He's bold and you're quiet. He's a realist, and you're a daydreamer! He's hotheaded and you're levelheaded! He's strong, you're meek! You two were practically meant to be together, clearly balancing each other out! You can't deny there's a connection!" Megan yelled, tears coming to her eyes, "ARTEMIS!!!! JUST STOP, OKAY? Listen to me, Conner was already asked to the dance by Alexa! I couldn't do it, so she did! He and I have nothing in common! That's it, end of story." Artemis walked over to where the young ginger had sat on the couch, crying, and gave her a tissue. She said, "Megan, I'm so sorry. I didn't know he was already asked." Megan sniffed, and replied, looked over at her best friend, "I was in the room when it happened. I don't know why, but I somehow sensed, by his reaction time, that he was hesitant to reply. Now he's going to the dance with Alexa, and it's all my fault for not telling him sooner, when he picked up my books in the hall." Hearing a knock at the door, Artemis patted Megan's knee, and said, "That should be Zee. She'll know what to do. She always does." Watching Artemis go to the door, Megan dried her tears, and stood up. She brushed off her fear, and waited for both the blonde and the raven haired girl to enter. Zee said excitedly, when she came in, "Oh, Megan! It's been way too long!" The girl replied, "It's good to see you as well, Zee. How've you been?" Zee replied, "I'm good, just really busy with the schedule my dad set up." Artemis growled, "If your dad wasn't such a stickler for the rules, then I'd suggest we'd do something against them, but since he is who he is, we have to think about his issue." Zee laughed, "Right. My dad would have my hide if he figured out that I've been avoiding English, to practice theatre. I know he's a school teacher, but it's really weird having your father for a teacher, and a teacher people don't like very much." Megan smiled, "Be grateful your dad is around. I really miss my parents, but I also really love staying with my Uncle John!" Zee implied, "Oh yeah, you transferred schools a little over a year ago from Sun City Prep. It's good that your uncle is letting you live with him, while your parents are traveling the world." Nodding, Megan chuckled, "Now if only I could..." Falling back into a deep sadness over what had happened, she took a seat back on the couch. Zee asked, "What's wrong?" Artemis answered for the ginger, "Megan wanted to ask Conner to the dance, but he was taken by Royal-Pretty-Princess-Miss-I-Get-Whatever-I-Want-Because-My-Daddy's-the-Mayor." Standing up, Megan said softly, "I'll be right back. I'm going to use the bathroom." Trotting off to the bathroom, the ginger left her friends in the living room. After seeing Megan disappear, Zee nodded, and replied, "Oh, so this wasn't so much of a glad to see you sleepover, as much as it was a think of a plan to get those two on the dance floor together." Artemis yelped, "Zee! That's it! I think that's the best idea I've ever heard!" Zee replied, "Thanks, um...what did I say?" Artemis continued, "You just said this was a sleepover to think of a plan to get Conner and Megan on the dance floor, right? Well, what if we could make that happen? You know, have Megan go without a date, and find a way to 'get rid' of Alexa long enough for the two to have a dance alone? That way, Conner could see just how amazing Megan is, and maybe dump Alexa for her! It would be perfect and then Wally and I can double up for dates, since Conner and Wally are buds." Zee countered, "But what if Megan doesn't like the idea of 'getting rid' of Alexa for a bit? You know how she gets, if she feels pressured, and you know she's doesn't have a mean bone in her body. There's no way she'll ever go for it." Artemis smirked, "Then we just have to trick and convince her to go to the dance with us. If Conner's going with Alexa, he'll already be bored." Zee asked, surprised, "You mean...not tell her about the disappearing? Artemis, that's not a good idea." Artemis questioned, "Think about it, Zee. Megan needs this. She needs a chance to find the person we all know is for her. As her best friends, we have to do something or she'll be sad that she never did anything. This has to be done, and you can't tell her, promise?" The raven haired girl gave in, saying, "Alright, but if Megan finds out, or anyone else, I'm planting all the blame on you for this sham. Got it?" Artemis grinned, "Deal.", then went into the kitchen, and grabbed out a bag of pretzels, setting them in a huge bowl, and taking the bowl back to the living room. As she set the bowl down, Artemis' older sister, Jade, came out wearing a green crop top shirt, with the Cheshire cat quote, "We're all a little mad here.", on the front, and a black leather jacket with tight blue jeans and matching green heels. She snagged a pretzel, and smirked, "Artemis, are you positive Dad's gonna like this? You know he hates guests." Artemis growled, "Just leave, Jade. Don't you have a date with Roy tonight, anyways?" The young woman with dark hair and skin chuckled, "I do, but I had to make sure my little sister understands that no one's allowed in my room. Step one foot in there, and I'll make sure you don't have another party again." Artemis rolled her eyes at her sister, and said bluntly, "Whatever you say, kitty." Jade turned and gave a hard glare, before drawing her attention to her phone, and responding to a text apparently from her sister's annoying, rude boyfriend, Roy Harper. Megan walked out of the bathroom, and came to sit next to Zee on the floor. She asked, "So what's new?"
