Part 2: Chapter 11

Sasuke and Sakura had arrived awhile back. They were missing two members of Team Seven and Sakura wouldn't have been pleased if not for the fact that she was completely alone with the company of her crush, she would've been fuming by then. Though she was irritated either way.

He's late.

She heard grass rustling, to confirm there was someone there she whipped her head to the side where the sound came from. The Uchiha doing the same but slower, taking his time to look. In their view was a blonde boy wearing black pants similar to the black and orange one he once wore. His black shirt was covered by his usual unzipped orange jacket.

The only girl of the group frowned at the boy. "Why are you so late?"

He took one more step before stopping in front of his two teammates. He had a blank look on his face, looking quite bored. "The question is, why are you here so early," he stated more than asked.

"Well, Kakashi Sensei said to be early," she said, her voice full of confidence and a tint of anger. Sakura was never afraid to state things when it came to Naruto, but she wasn't very sure how Naruto's new personality would react, so she was holding herself back to a degree.

"What do you mean by that? Surely you both with such intelligence would understand right," he said in a bored yet somehow curious voice.

Sakura raised an eyebrow and she looked quite dumbfounded. I will never get used to Naruto speaking like that. "Understand?" she asked, confused.

"That is what I am asking you, Miss Haruno."

"Yeah, I'm not even going to react to that," she said, referring to what Naruto had called her. Then she heard a sigh from beside her. "Sasuke?" she mumbled, turning her attention to the said boy.

His face showed somewhat of a realization, coming to a conclusion that Sakura was still confused about. "He means that he knew that our Sensei would be late. That's why he didn't bother with being early," he said in his normal tone of voice with a slight tinge of irritation.

"Well, I do not blame you. He is somewhat... unpredictable."

"Morning everyone, I see you're talking about me Naruto." All attention was placed on the eldest person present; he waved as if he hadn't been hours late.

"You're late!" Sakura exclaimed. Naruto stood calmly in between Sakura and Sasuke, who stood with crossed arms.

"Well, you see, a black cat crossed my path, so I had to take the long way to get here." He smiled innocently, pointing to his side to put emphasis on the long way

Naruto frowned at the actions and words of his new teacher; his eyebrows furrowed as he gave a frown that didn't really hold any sadness in it. Naruto heard stories about a boy Kakashi knew who had made those kinds of excuses, he knew exactly what Kakashi was doing, and it was quite obvious if you knew Kakashi enough. Naruto sighed as Kakashi explained the test.

"... you won't get lunch and you will be tied to those posts while watching me eat my lunch," is all Naruto heard once he got out of his trance. Naruto heard a sound imitating from both his teammates' stomachs.

That's why he told us not to eat lunch, to make it harder on us.

"Was that not obvious?" The blonde spoke in a bored tone as if it was the most obvious thing in the world.

"No, didn't you hear what Kakashi Sensei said?"

"I did not."

Sakura stood agape. "What, so you ate breakfast!?"

"Yes, of course I had. Even if I heard it, it was obvious that it was just to motivate us to pass the test even more, and to make it harder us to focus and complete it," Naruto spoke, purposely saying the word complete.

"... But there are only two bells," Sakura mumbled just loud enough for all to hear.

As I expected with their observation skills. With that being said, Kakashi explained the details. As he explained he made sure to emphasize that working together wasn't an easy option. Naruto stood with a poker face, arms crossed as he shook his head. The reason it was a poker face instead of a blank face was simple, a normal person would straight out smile, but in Naruto's case, his way of smiling in front of acquaintances was a poker face.

By then the messages about being discreet were given, they had spread out and Naruto had disappeared somewhere. He wouldn't go through with pretending, but Kakashi was a very persuasive person. Especially with The Thousand Years of Death JutsuHe wasn't afraid of it. It was just something he would like to avoid, end of story... He heard shouting from what seemed like Sakura Haruno and had seen some fire ignite from somewhere else.

"You make a great Sensei," said Naruto, words full of sarcasm. Kakashi leaned on the post left od him as Naruto sat on the middle post, Kakashi chuckled at the comment. "Are you a shadow clone?" Naruto asked in a dull tone, practically showing it didn't even interest him if this Kakashi was or wasn't.

"No, I'm the real deal."

"They not doing very good, are they," he said it more as a statement than a question, having put the pieces together quite quickly from the snippets of battle he heard.

"Maybe you should check for yourself," Kakashi suggested in a slightly amused tone, reading through his book. Naruto sighed at the comment.

He must force me... What is expected from Kakashi Hatake.

"Maybe I do not want to check," replied Naruto. "They need to figure this out on their own. That way they will be independent."

Kakashi didn't want to argue more even if he could do it all day just to tease Naruto. He knew better not to go on since their arguments take quite a long time, plus it was better not to force him into doing things he didn't want to do.

Naruto sighed. "Maybe I should check on them." Kakashi seemed to have a smug look on his face, but Naruto then felt the need to say, "But, I am not interfering; this is their matter to solve."

The man just shrugged in response; he didn't argue anymore because he won either way just by getting him to check. He knew that Naruto was only slightly interested in what he had done to his teammates, that was enough proof to say that Naruto had gotten only slightly comfortable with his new team. The problem now was to get them comfortable and used to Naruto.
