hi my loves

this is just something I wanted to say.

so today one of the people from one of my favorite bands, Linkin Park, Chester Bennington, passed away. he committed suicide, and I am unsure of the exact reasons why but apparently he has been struggling with drug and alcohol addictions, and has talked about suicide as a result of being a victim of abuse in the past as a child. my heart is hurting, I have been listening to this band since i was a child and it truly is heartbreaking to hear this. my thoughts and prayers go to his kids, family and friends and I will never forget this talented legend <3

I just wanted to talk about how it's so scary how we truly do not know what a person goes through in cases like this. this makes the whole message of being kind and caring and loving to one another, so much more important because you never know if someone is going through a tough time, especially if it isn't obvious enough. We need to love and be there for each other, especially if we know that someone is going through things like drug abuse and alcohol addiction. It's so important to a point it can save someone's life. We need to be more open and loving and accepting to others. 

This is one of the reasons why I wanted to write this book, True Colors, y'know to spread awareness of drug abuse, sexual abuse and rape and the effects of it on a person and how we need to be there for these people who've endured these struggles. We need to stop looking down on them and be there for them before it's too late. I haven't personally gone through any of this, but I feel the need to make people understand because it is truly heartbreaking to see people struggle like that and go through such terrible pain. It really is.

Mental health in incredibly important and there seriously needs to be more awareness of it because there isn't enough. Until then, we work on spreading awareness as much as we can. Whether it be through writing a book, or tweeting about it, or telling your friends and parents, anything is better than nothing. 

I am sure you all are aware and woke, and just wonderful people because I see you commenting and showing sympathy for Adriana's character who goes through drug abuse, and trauma from sexual assault and rape, instead of looking down on her for her addiction. It shows that you do understand how difficult it is, and you're aware of what I just talked about above.  

I love you all and I'm sorry for this random rant. I know it's all over the place, but my heart just hurts and this whole situation is so scary and so sad, and reminded me of so many things. Remember you are all loved, even when you don't think so and that there will always be someone there to talk to you if you ever feel down. I am here if you ever need to chat. 

Lastly, thank you for 100K reads on the book. I truly appreciate it. In all honesty, the main reason I wanted to write this book was to educate my readers and spread awareness on drug abuse, sexual assault and rape, and abusive relationships. I don't think these things are really explored well enough in fanfics on wattpad, or if they are presented it's sometimes romanticized and just never shows the negative effects.
