Training
"Hey. Lacey? Wake up!" I shoot up, falling onto the floor in the process. I pull myself up and look above me. Aphmau crouches next to me, trying to stifle a laugh. "Are you okay?" She asks, helping me up. I nod as I get to my feet. "Yea, I'm fine." I look out the window, seeing that it's almost dawn. "Sparkz wanted me to get you up. Since you didn't bring much clothes, I brought you some to wear for today. I just hope they fit." She hands me a neat pile of clothes and guides me to the bathroom. I change into everything and look into the mirror. It's a long sleeve purple top, kind of loose black yoga pants, leather combat boots, and a chain-mail vest that can zip up. I put my hair in a tight ponytail and come out of the bathroom where Aphmau is waiting. She looks over and smiles. "You look so battle-ready." She says standing up. "Is that supposed to be a good thing?" I ask, putting my old clothes to the side. "At least you look the part. That's probably half the battle... Okay, just a small part of the battle, but you know what I mean!" We both laugh and she brings me out into the hall. We walk down a few hallways, and then get to a huge room where Sky, Sparklez, Tiff, Garroth, Laurence, David and Stampy are doing different things. From hitting a dummy to rock-climbing, sparing to decoding redstone, that's what was in here. Sparklez comes over, seeing that I was here, grabbing a bottle of water. "So, do you have any experience when it comes to fighting?" He asks, then taking a gulp of water. "Actually, when I wasn't gardening, my dad trained me to fight with swords and sometimes bows. But we mostly sparred, training me to fight without a weapon." He swallowed and nodded. "We'll start you with something easy. David!" He calls over to David and he comes over in an instant. "You and Lacey are going to spar, that okay with you?" Sparklez asks and David shrugs, letting his hand to me. I take it and we shake. "Let the best man- or woman- win." He sounds like he's letting on a challenge, but I'm not sure. Better not let my guard down. We both get into a designated ring and handed a pair of finger-less gloves and this weird-looking helmet that goes around my face, then we go into opposite corners. Sparklez lets on his best announcers voice. "Ladies and gentleman, boys and girls of all ages; welcome to the fight of the century! In this corner we have the toughest of the tough, the swimming natural, the nerd when it comes to nerve; Ravin' David!" David facepalms himself and I chuckle. "And in this corner, she's the rookie of the bunch, but watch out! She's got some nerve in that small package!" I groan but Sparklez ignores me. "She's rough and vigorous, let's hear it for Racy Lacey!" Everyones around the ring now, and I feel a bit nervous, but I keep my ground. "The only 2 rules: 1, No weapons. And 2, there are no rules. Let's start!" I hear a bell, then we circle each other around the ring. We closer and closer until he throws a punch, I dodge it easily and grab his wrist. Turning his arm the wrong way, but still making sure it doesn't break, I kick his legs from under him and he goes down on his back. The bell sounds again and I win the first round. I help David up and he pats me on the back. "Nice take down. I know not to go easy on you now." He says, smirking. We go back into the corners and the bell sounds again and I go into the middle of the ring where David tries to kick my legs from under me. I jump and evade his attack, then taking his leg and pulling it from under him so he falls on his back again. The bell goes off and he punches the soft floor in frustration. "One more round!" He says, standing up and facing me. The others look at each other. Stampy motions him off the ring. "Come on, Dav-" "I'm not coming off Stampy! One more round!" Stampy backs off and looks to Sparklez to ring the bell. He does and David runs towards me. I slide to the right and he turns towards me, punching away. I dodge a few, and then he hit me in the nose. It doesn't hurt as much with the helmet on, but it still hurts a bit. He swings a kick towards my hip and I catch it, pulling it again and making him fall on his back. The bell rings and David groans, sitting up from the floor. I let out my hand to him and he looks up to me. He sighs and takes it, getting up. I smile and take off the helmet, but he gasps once I do. "What?" I ask and look towards the others. Tiff points towards my nose and I touch it and feel something warm. I take away my hand and blood is covering my fingertip. My nose is bleeding. I blink and David jumps out of the ring, getting a towel and bringing it to me. I take it and keep it under my nose. "I am so sorry! I don't know what came over me, I'm sorry!" He kept saying sorry, and I kept saying it was okay, but he wasn't taking any of it. "Hey, it happens!" I say through the towel. "Just be careful when sparing. But don't hold back when your in an actual battle." He nods and my nose stops bleeding. I take a small break, but I can't stay still for much longer. I get up from the bench that I've been sitting on and go over to the redstone decoding area. Something that I can do without making my nose bleed again. Stampy is in the middle of decoding a fake block of TNT. He's in the small pit that spawns in a situation that you have to decode. I wait for him to finish, but he's unsuccessful. "Ugh, this is hopeless!" He says as the timer runs out. He looks up and sees me. "Hey, what's wrong?" I ask as he gets up. "I've been trying to decode a certain system for weeks now! My expertise hasn't been in redstone much so I've been trying to get better at it." He says as he looks in a book titled 'The Art of Redstone'. "Could I somehow help?" He looks up from the book and hums. "Uh, maybe..." He hands me the book and I read skim through a bit. He then demonstrates what he keeps doing. "I think I know what you did wrong." I say and he looks up at me after another failed attempt. "I think you were connecting the wiring to there," I point towards a section of the redstone, "instead of connecting it here." I point to another area. He looks around those areas and his eyes go wide. "Of course!" He restarts the simulation and this time he succeeds. "Thanks! I owe you one!" He tells me and he moves on to another simulation. "Lacey!" I turn around and see Sparklez coming towards me with a chest. He motions me over to a small arena where he put down the chest and opens it. "So, these are the spawn eggs. Each one will spawn a certain mob that you will have to kill." I look in and see different color eggs that have different color spots on them. "Ready?" He asks. I take an iron sword from a nearby shelf. "Ready as I'll ever be."
