Settling
-3rd person POV-
"What do you mean they're not in their cells?!" You could hear someone yell from the huge nether fortress. In the throne room of this fortress, Herobrine's eyes were glowing at their brightest light. He was yelling at his guards, who had not seen Lacey and Oliver escape. "Not only that, your portal to the Overworld has been destroyed from the other side." One of the guards said with quivering bones. "That is impossible! The only one who can break my portals is me and-" he stops and remembers back to earlier that day. "My son... A traitor?!" He whispered but as angry as he'd ever been. "What's your command, your Darkness?" Another guard said. Herobrine looked up and gave his order. "Stay here and guard the castle. I'm going to go find a way to get to the Overworld, find my 'son' and then kill that girl. I don't care anymore if I need her power, nobody escapes me and gets away with it!" He starts to walk away towards his potion and spell room, and a important-looking wither skeleton came up behind him. "Sir, your brother banished you to the nether and cast a spell on you so you couldn't come back to the Overworld. How in the whole wide world of Minecraftia are you going to get back up there if you don't know where to start?" Herobrine looked at him with questioning eyes. "Who said I don't know where to start General?"

-Lacey's POV-
It took a bit to make a big enough house for all of us, but Axel seems to work fast. Maybe it's just instinct, because he said he's never been to the Overworld. I wonder if all the stories are true. It wouldn't be a surprise if Notch is a real person or Steve actually is the first spawn, since I know that Herobrine is a real person too now. "Lacey, get inside! You have enough wood for now!" I look up to the sky, the sun at its final sliver above the horizon. Have I really been out here for that long? I run inside where there are three beds, a crafting table in the corner, a double chest next to that, and two furnaces on the other side. The house was 6x6 and 3 blocks high, so it wasn't small but it wasn't huge. "So, do you want steak or porkchops?" I looked over at Axel who was poking at something in the furnace. "I'll take a steak. Thanks for making dinner Axel, it really helps." I say as I put the collected wood in the chest. "It's okay, I don't really mind." He smiles. "Miss Lacey?" I look over to Oliver and he's finishing his food and crying. "You okay Oliver?" I sit next to him on his bed, and rub his back as he swallows. "I miss my mommy and daddy... And I'm scared... I wanna be with them..." I sigh and tilt his head up so that he looks into my eyes. "Look, I know you're scared, but your mom and dad are in a nice place and their watching you right now. I just know it. Me and Axel will protect you from any harm, okay?" His eyes fill with tears. "Promise?" He asks hopefully, sticking his pinkie out towards me. I wrap my own pinkie finger around his and squeeze it. "Promise." I say truthfully. He smiles and yawns. "Let's get you to bed, Oliver." He let's me tuck him into one of the beds and he falls asleep right away. "Axel..." He looks up at me. "What's up?" "I can't thank you enough for what you've done for me. Not only did you save me and Oliver, but you gave me a second chance. To redeem myself for losing my sister. I think I was supposed to help Oliver so that I could have a second chance at this sibling thing." I turn to him. "Do you believe my theory?" He thinks for a moment and nods. "I believe in second chances, that's why I stayed with you. I didn't want to be like my father, so... yea..." I nod as he hands me my steak. I finish it and lay on my bed, finally drifting off to sleep.
