Healed
My father was the leader of the village, and my mother was the head farmer. They fell in love, got married, and had me. It was very peaceful, but then when I was 13, my mother got very ill. And pregnant with my little sister. Me and my father were very worried, I did everything I could in the farm while she was sick. I thought she would get better, but once she gave birth to my small sister... She passed. Right before she did though, she told me 'When one door closes, another one opens. Protect your sister, please.' I did my best until-
Everyone was listening and I realized that I zoned out for second. I looked down at my plate, over it my shaking fork being held in my hand. I put it down, trying to control my shaking. Images play through my mind: Opal getting killed, me facing Herobrine in my blind rage, being tortured. "You okay, hun?" I look towards Alesa who has a very concerned face. I swallow, and suddenly I feel pain in my left arm. I clutch it, realizing the 'H' is throbbing. I look over to Notch. "Can I talk to you? Privately?" He looks towards the others and gets up from his chair. I get up, still clutching my writhing arm, and follow him to an empty party room. "Are you alright?" He asks, sounding very concerned. I hesitate for a moment, but then I say, "You would know better than anyone else... Do you- do you know what this is supposed to be?" I pull up my sleeve, exposing the 'H' even though it was still burning. He backed up a bit and then looked at it with anger. He turns away, rubbing the back of his neck. "Did he take some blood from you?" He says, still looking away. "Y-yes..." I say, and bit confused. "What happened to your sister?" I shake my head trying to get the picture of Opal's dead body out of my head. "H-he killed her..." Tears stain my face, I close my eyes gritting my teeth. I feel a hand on my shoulder and I look up to Notch. His kind face says 'don't worry, she's safe'. That's all I need. I wrap my arms around him, and he does the same to me. "Thank you." I say. He puts his hand around where the pain is on my arm, and suddenly it feels much better. He lets go, and I look at my arm. The mark is gone, I feel so relived. "Thank you." I say again. "Your very welcome. Keep it between us though, alright?" I nod and we come out of the room and sit back down. Everyone looks at me concerned. "Let's talk about something else everyone, and Lacey is fine." Notch says as I pick up my fork again. "Well, if you wanna talk, we're all here for you." Aphmau says and everyone nods. I smile and thank everyone. After we finish our meal, Oliver is fast asleep. I carry him out of the restaurant, but he's getting very heavy. Alesa taps on my shoulder. "If you'd like, little Oli can go into Mason's stroller. I can carry Mason, he's not that heavy yet." I shake my head. "I-I couldn't-" "I insist." Alesa says, taking awake Mason out the stroller and rolling it towards me. "Thanks." I say smiling. I put Oliver in and follow everyone to the center of the city, where a huge castle lays. Everyone is in their own conversations except Tiff and Red, so I go up to the side of Tiff to ask her a question. "Hey, do you know why Sky was looking at David weird during dinner?" I ask quietly. "You mean Stampy's right hand man? You didn't hear it from me, but I heard that Sky has a little assumption that David is somehow in with the squids. Sky has a rivalry with them somehow and I think he's just paranoid, but David used to live in a swamp so I assume that's his thinking." I nod and look toward David, who is talking with Stampy. We get to the castle and everyone goes their separate ways except for Notch and Captain Sparklez. Then they walk to me after a minute of talking. "We've decided that I will help you train. We will take some spawn eggs and increase your powers tomorrow." Sparklez says, but I cock my head. "Spawn eggs?" "They're eggs that spawn mobs at command. What monsters have you killed since you got the power?" Notch asks. "A wither skeleton and a zombie. That's about it." "Then we have a lot of work to do for the next few days. I'll bring you to where you'll be staying." Sparklez takes me to my room, settling Oliver in the room next to it. I sit on the small chair that is fit into the three window space and looked over the city. I've never seen so many lights in one place. Someone knocks at my door and I go to open it. When I do, I see Aphmau, Alesa, and Tiff. "Hey, we were wondering if we could come in and talk to you about something?" Alesa says holding a torch in her hand, so I let them in and we sit on the floor. "What's up?" I say. Aphmau speaks up first. "Tiff told us that there was this boy at the gates. We just wanted to ask, if you don't mind answering, what relation do you have to him?" I go to open my mouth, but then I wonder myself. We're not together, yet, he kissed me. "I... I like him." I blush. They squeal and laugh, not the reaction I was expecting. "Give us some details!" Tiff says. "Yea, why do you have these feelings?" Alesa asks. "Well, he was so nice when I met him. I was going through some... Things... And we kissed... Once..." I say blushing really hard. They all squeal again, and I laugh at their reaction. "Girl, you are so lucky you have only one boy after you! Oh my Irene, Garroth and Laurence are always fighting for me behind my back. It feels so weird!" Aphmau says and I laugh and say, "it must! But Axel is, well, sweet and tough and really cute. Wow, did I just say that?!" They all nod. I then frown. "It's too bad he's not allowed inside the walls. If only I could show everyone that he's not like his father..." They look at each other, as if they're not so sure. "Let's just get to one thing at a time. Hey, maybe you just need a girls day out." Tiff says and Aphmau and Alesa nod. "Do you think that'll help?" I question, unsure about it. "Actually, yea! I haven't had something like that in a long time! Maybe not tomorrow, but soon!" Aphmau exclaims, definitely excited. "I guess that'd be nice..." saying that, they squeal one last time before they get up to leave. I get up and stop them. "I just wanted to say thank you, I really needed that. Just someone to talk to..." I add relived. "No problem at all. Just holler if you need anything." Tiff says walking out with the others. They close the door and I sigh, smiling and going back to the window sitting down. This time, I look up at the clear sky, the stars shining brightly and the moon full. Maybe, just maybe, my Opal is in those stars; dancing like the goofball she is. Or was. At least she's at peace...
