-Axel's POV-
I ran to my room, taking a few pieces of paper, ink, and my mom's emerald for good luck. I fast walked back towards Lacey's cell and started to map the hallways. About two hours later the paper was filled with a tree of ink and smudges, and at the top was a drawing of my father's personal portal to the Overworld. It was in a room that was not guarded, and that was perfect for this plan. As I went back to my room, I began to look for the fastest route on my makeshift map. Making the lines darker, I entered my room. But when I looked up, I almost got heart-attack. "Dad! Don't do that! What are you doing?" He was going through my drawers, I could see his eyes glowing more than usual. That meant he was mad, but I didn't know why. He teleported to the other side of the room and began looking there. "Where is it?!" He said as I began to fold up the map and put it in my pocket. "Where's what?" I asked hesitant. "You know what!" He stood up and looked at me. His eyes almost blinded me but I stood my ground. "I really don't. What are you looking for?" "Your mother's emerald." He said with poison in his voice. I was surprised and I knew he saw it. I sighed and took it out of my pocket; but before I could hold it out, he took it from my hand. He held it up so we could both see it. "Your mother didn't go to the Overworld, son. She didn't go anywhere." "But she said that she went to the Overworld to live there, what do you mean she-" then I realized what he meant. I shook my head, not wanting it to be true. "No... Dad... you didn't!" I yelled. "Son, she-" "No! Don't you dare call me your son! Give me that emerald!" I reached for it but he backed up and closed his fist around the gem. "Give me her-" then I heard a crunch from his hand and as he opened his hand, my eyes filled with tears. He dropped the shards to the floor. I looked back up at him with a new found anger. "I HATE YOU!!!" I yelled closing my eyes, and when I opened them again I was outside the room. That's the first time I had teleported, but I didn't care. I wanted to get as far away from my father as possible.

-Lacey's POV-
Ever since Axel left, I've been smiling. I already felt free, every time I see him I feel free. I look down the hallway towards Axel and smile even more, but then my smile fades. His eyes are the same as his father's, maybe even brighter. "Axel? Are you okay?" I ask him. He nods, "We're getting out of here. Now." He says and he appears in my cell. He takes my hand and teleports out into the hallway. I look around for guards as he gets Oliver; and when he does, I take Oliver in my arms. He's a little heavy, but it's not a big bother. "Now be quiet, we don't want any guards to hear us." Axel says as we start to sneak through the halls. He takes a piece of paper out and I follow him through the labyrinth of halls. He stops every once and while and looks around the corners. Once the guards that are there move on, we continue in the halls. We finally come to a room with a portal and I almost drop Oliver. I look at Axel and he nods. As I look back at the portal, a happy tear comes down my cheek and I step through. It's dizzying, I almost pass out. Maybe that's because of the portal, or maybe we're escaping. Axel follows, and we look around. It's the middle of the day and I can't believe how good the sun feels on my skin. I smile and Oliver is squirming to get on the ground. I let him go and he falls into the grass, rolling in it like a puppy. I chuckle and look back at Axel. He takes out a diamond pick axe and begins to break one of the obsidian blocks. "Wait! Don't you someday want to go back?" He shakes his head as the block breaks. "I never want to see my father ever again. And to make sure he doesn't find us, I'm going to get rid of this portal." I nod and turn back to Oliver, who is looking up at the clouds. I sit next to him and he looks at me. "Thank you for saving me, Miss Lacey. This is the best feeling in the world." I smile. "That's great to hear Oliver." He sits up and looks at me. "But where am I going to go? My parents are... you know..." "Aw, Oliver! You can stay with us! It's not even a question!" He smiles wide and falls into me, hugging me. "Thank you Miss Lacey!" I hug him back smiling. I look up and I see Axel a couple feet from us smiling, too. His eyes are back to normal too, with exception that their still the really pale blue that I know and love. I hold out my arm and motion him to join, and he does. We break apart and I look at Axel, and he looks at me. I open my mouth to speak, but he leans in and kisses me on the lips. I'm surprised by this, but it feels good so I melt in his embrace and kiss back. "Axel and Lacey sitting in a tree! K-I-S-S-I-N-G!" I hear Oliver sing. We break apart and look at him, then look back at each other. "You know Oliver, you shouldn't make of people. Unless you want," I began to tickle him, "the tickle monster to attack!" He begins to laugh his head off and Axel joins in. "Okay-hahaha- okay- hahaha- I'm sorry!" We all stop and fall to the ground laughing. Then I realize something. "Axel... It's almost night." He looks at me and shoots up and starts to chop trees with his hands. "Welp, gotta survive." I say and get up from the ground to help Axel.
