Win- Birthday dinner.
I told Suta that I will not be going home right after school. I told her I have personal matters to attend to but I will let her know if there is any issue. I also told her to not tell Bright where I am going. I can't believe I even considered going back home to celebrate my mother's birthday after everything they put me through.

I knocked on their door as I await for them to open the door. I saw the door creaking open but then it opens all the way. It was my mother and she had a kitchen robe wrapped around her.

"Win." She said surprisingly and she quickly took off her robe.

"Mom kub." I say to her.

"Please, come in." She make way for me and I nodded and walked in.

I walk inside my parents house for the first time in almost two years and everything still looks the same. I bet my bedroom hasn't been touched neither. It's strange because every year my mom changes the decor of the house. It seems like she didn't bother to do it this time.

"Did you just get off from school? Are you thirsty?" She started questioning me.

"No, I'm fine." I tell her and she sort of pouts but she quickly replaced it with a faint smile.

I began to hear footsteps from a distance and I'm guessing it's my father. I await for him to show up so I can see his face again.

"Honey, Win is back." My mother said to him as my dad looks at me. He looks like he gained a bit of weight and he's grown some facial hair.

"You've returned. Let's have dinner. I'm starving." He says without really acknowledging me much. Nothing has really changed about him. He's always been that way. I roll my eyes and head to the dinning area where the food is prepared.

I sat in front of my father as we sit opposite from each other.Barley any eye contact he is giving me still.

"I made some pork and chicken that you like Win." My mom says as she places the two large plates of pork and chicken in the middle.

"Kub." I say to her.

"I'm really glad you come here today Win. I wasn't sure you were gonna come and see us again. " My mom says as she sits down at the table.

"How are your studies?" My dad finally asked me.

"Fine." I admit to him.

"Hmm." He says as he sips on his wine.

"Do you want some wine, Win?" My mom asked me as she was about to pour some in my glass but I quickly stop her.

"No Kub. I can't drink anymore." I tell her honestly as my mom looks at me weird.

"How come?" She asked.

I was debating if I should tell her that I am pregnant or not but what's the use of hiding it. They were gonna find out anyways.

"I'm with child Mom." I admit to her and suddenly my dad bangs his fist hard into the table.

"You're pregnant?" He questioned me angrily.

"Is it with......the guy you said you love?" My mom asked me.

"Yes, we are having a baby together. I'm 4 months pregnant." I admit to her.

"Oh well um......that's.....surprising." My mom says as she sips a bit of her wine now.

"How can you be so careless?" My father questioned me. He looks at me with a disgusted look.

"Why? Are you mad that P'darren couldn't be the man to get my pregnant? Sorry to disappoint you." I questioned him.

"You shut your mouth boy! You irresponsible pest." My dad spat at me. His words use hurt but now I find it amusing.

"Win, have you been.....going to the doctors regularly?" My mother asked me.

"I have a nurse that take cares of me. Bright makes sure he takes care of me and our child. He's the type of man that give me all the attention I deserve." I say as I stare at my father. I know he's angry and it's eating him up that I am talking about Bright in front of him.

I really don't care the slightest if my dad is disappointed in me. It's not his life, It's mine.

"You leave and move out for almost two years and you come back and spit in our faces about your man and child. You are just worthless. I didn't know I raised a worthless son. If you were smart, you would be here being taking care of by a real man like Darren." My dad says to.

"Bright is a real man. Bright is the only man for me." I state to him.

"Clearly all the beatings I gave you wasn't enough." My dad said and I quickly saw my mom placing her hand on his chest.

"Let's calm down for a bit. We came here today to have a nice family dinner." My mom said as it interrupts me and dads little argument.

I watch my dad forcefully grabbing his fork as he begins to eat his food angrily. I began to eat but as soon as I put some of the pork in my mouth, I cringe at the taste. I forgot that human food taste salty to me again.

"Are you okay Win?" My mother asked me and I look at her.

"I'm fine kub." I say as I try to eat again and hid my gross face the entire time.

As I continue to eat, the table was dead silent and it was just our chewing alone making a sound. I try to think of ways to get my mind off this taste of salt but when I thought of blood, it made me a bit thirsty. I'm a new vampire so I need more self control when I drink blood. I decided to think about the second best option and that was Bright.

Besides blood, Bright is the second best thing to taste and the thought of tasting him was getting me more thrilled and excited to leave this house and go see him.

The dinner end pretty quickly and I was getting ready to leave my parents house. I already spend a lot of time here and I know that Bright is gonna question me about where I went.

"Mom, I will be leaving now. Happy Birthday." I say to her and I saw a smile appear on her face.

"Thank you son." She says as she nervously laughs. I nodded and proceeded to leave. "Win!" My mom called me out and I stop in turn at her. "Will you......come back again? We really miss you son and.......I'm sorry that we haven't been good parents to you." My mom finally says to me.

I look at her to check your sincerity and she seems to be going through a lot without me but I can't forgive her so easily. Besides she isn't the only reason why I won't come back home, it's my father. With him, I can never forgive.

"Mother, thank you for the dinner. It was....great but I'm not  returning or visiting you guys soon. I'll keep your apology in mind but it's gonna take a lot more than that to forgive you." I tell her honestly.

"But Win-"

"Goodbye mom." I say as I leave the house.

I sigh heavily as I was able to make it out of there. As I began to walk into my car, my phone was ringing and I checked to see it was Bright calling.

"Hello." I pick up and answer it.

"Care to explain to me why you are not home and Suta only came alone?" Bright asked me. I smirk at his question.

"I came to see my parents." I dropped the bomb on him.

"How....did it go?" He asked and I hear the seriousness in his voice now.

"Better than I expected but you were wrong. I still don't miss them. My father called me a disappointment and disgusting when I told him that I was pregnant." I admit to him.

"Really, well that is disappointing." Bright tells me as I sort of chuckle through the phone.

"It was fun seeing his face getting all red and sweaty." I tell him.

"What did your mother cook? Do you feel sick?" Bright asked me.

"No but the food was salty as usual.  I had to think about you the whole time when I ate it." I admit to Bright.

"Oh really?" He says sounding very amused over the phone.

"I was thinking about how good you taste." I tell him and I heard a very satisfying groan escaping his mouth over the phone.

"Come home soon. I really want to see you and maybe I'll grant you your wish." Bright said and honestly I can't wait but let's not try to sound too desperate.

"We'll see. I'm driving now. Bye." I say as I hang up the phone.
