Chapter 8 - I don't want to catch any herpes.

"Hello Sweetheart," Daniel greeted, smugly as he leaned against the steering wheel and looked at me with a huge grin covering his face. I dare say that he looked absolutely hot in the Ray Ban aviators covering his eyes, and his hair styled perfectly. He was shooting a toothy grin and I could see a small dimple form over his left cheek. His tanned skinned was more enhanced due to the faded grey shirt he wore, with the sleeves rolled half way. He looked mouthwateringly hot.

Wait! Did I just...?

I gulped.

Did I just do what I'm thinking I have done?

I felt like I had committed a crime.

It had to be a crime.

I freaking checked out my nightmare! It's not even funny!

I could a feel a scowl taking form over my face. This had to be dream! No, not a dream, a nightmare! I mean I just can't check out my living enemy! No matter how hot he is!

Ugh! Firstly I need to stop calling Daniel hot! That's just insane and infuriating!

Bloody hormones!

It's okay to check out hot guys, it proves you are normal teenage girl attracted to boys. My mind reasoned.

That just annoyed me more. I can't be checking out my mortal enemy! That is just wrong!

I think my brains not functioning and doing stupid things because it had been roasting in this blazing heat for the last two hours. Yes, that had to be the reason. I convinced myself.

Nevertheless I was still mad at myself for eye raping Daniel Michaels.

"Hey Daniel," Janet greeted, and shot him a bright smile. She looked absolutely happy at the sight of my nightmare. And that made my mood fouler than it already was. How can she talk so nicely to people I hate? But then again, Janet was a sweet girl, she simply can't insult and be rude to people unnecessarily.

"I'm here too," Charles piped in lightly. I just rolled my eyes. I hate that guy more than I hate the salads my mother made.

"No one asked you to be here." I said, half-heartedly. I was already in such a foul mood; I doubt I could be nice to anyone else, especially these three people before me.

"Ivory!" Nicole chided at me from the backseat.

I turned to face her. Her blonde hair was tied up in a high ponytail. Her sunglasses were placed over her overhead. She was wearing her typical Barbie clothes. Yes, she was wearing baby pink loose top and dark blue shorts. She was shooting irritated glares in my direction. As usual the glares just amused me. I mean her glares weren't even scary.

I simply shot her a short fake smile in response.

"What are you guys doing here?" Charles inquired.

"Our car broke down," Janet answered in an obvious tone.

"Oh, have you called the mechanic yet?" asked Daniel.

"Yes"

"No"

Janet and I answered at the same time. Janet shot me a confused look. How should I explain to her that I don't want these people helping us? I just want them gone! But I could see Janet had some other plans. She just wanted to be rescued and reach the Camp as fast as possible. Whereas I was ready to wait for another two hours in the scorching heat if that meant not getting help from these people.

When we didn't clear the confusion, Daniel asked, "Yes or no?"

"No." Janet replied firmly and shot me glare telling me to shut up. "We aren't getting any reception here."

Charles and Daniel checked their phones and confirmed that there was no reception.

"The next town is about half an hour away, we should get some help there," Daniel said.

"That's great, let's go and get help then," Janet chirped and started opening the backseat door.

"Or why don't you guys wait here, and Ivory and I'll get some help." Daniel suggested.

Janet shrugged, as if she were cool with that. And so was Charles.

"What? You want me sit outside in this heat?" Nicole shrieked in her annoying high pitched voice.

"It's alright darling, you have me." Charles said and shot her a sweet encouraging smile.

Charles got out of the car, and opened the backseat door and held out his hand for Nicole to put her hand in his. She stared at him for a moment but then reluctantly obliged to his offer and got of the car.

Whereas me? I was just staring at all the people in front me. They really had lost their minds if they think I would go anywhere with Daniel. Hell no. Riding with my nightmare? That surely is at the top in my wish list. Not.

"I'm not going anywhere with him," I stated firmly.

Janet shot daggers at me, she walked towards me and whisper shouted in my ear, "Your mistake we are stuck here, you've to solve this mess. I don't want to hear another word. Save your stubbornness to yourself."

Saying this Janet moved away from me. Damn. She was still mad at me. Great! Reluctantly I walked myself towards the car and got into the passenger seat. A scowl etched my face. And my hands were stubbornly crossed over my chest. I refused to make any eye contact with anyone. My eyes were trained at the endless road before me.

I heard Daniel chuckle next to me. I still didn't look at him. I had to ignore him completely for the next one or two hours.

"Come fast you guys!" Charles called out as Daniel revved up the engine and drove off.

Today really is the worst day of my life. Everyone wants me to have a hell of a time. What had I done so wrong yesterday and I'm facing such asshole of a day today?

"Are you really not going to say anything?" Daniel broke the heavy silence within the car after a few minutes.

I didn't say a word. I'm supposed to be ignoring him.

"C'mon girl, you know you can't resist this charm for long." Daniel said smugly.

I would feel the scowl on my face deepen. That comment drove my mind back to the time when I was checking out my mortal enemy. Ugh. This is worst then falling into the depths of hell.

When I didn't say anything yet again, Daniel asked, "Are you really going to act like an immature? Ignoring is being immature."

I looked at him and shot him a brief glare.

"Finally some kind of response!" Daniel exclaimed, cheerfully.

I ignored him and tuned my attention to the road even though I wasn't the one driving.

"Don't be rude sweetheart,"

He just can't shut up, can he? Isn't he even capable of understanding that if I'm not replying means I don't want to talk? Was it so hard to understand? Hearing his silky smooth voice was driving me insane. His voice was one of the most irritating in the entire world. It had to be.

"Can't you stay quiet?"

"We aren't sitting in a library, so no." His replied in an obvious tone. I groaned mentally. The next hour or so was so going to be the worst time of my day.

"What would make you shut up?" I inquired. I was willing to pay any amount of money if that meant Daniel won't say a word.

"A kiss," He replied flirtatiously and eyed at me suggestively.

I shot him a poker face. I rolled my eyes and looked away. No matter what, there was no way he would act like a grown up. Everything is a game for him. He doesn't take anything seriously. Like nothing. Nada.

As if you do? My subconscious chided at me.

"You have a very good opportunity here to kiss me. You don't have to resist me." He continued, flirtatiously.

"No thank you. I don't want to catch any herpes." I retorted and smirked.

"I don't have any." He stated, shooting me a glare.

I chuckled and shook my head.

"Are you going to be this difficult all the way?" He asked after a few minutes.

"You haven't done anything to deserve my good side," I said, bluntly.

"I'm helping you right now, aren't I?"

"You are helping Janet. And I'm simply doing what Janet has asked me to do." I said and cringe at the thought of Janet's warning for earlier.

"To proud to admit, taking help from me?" He asked.

I stare at him for a moment with a scrutinizing look. A smug expression is etched on his face. He looked at ease and his eyes were glinting with mischief. A proud façade embraced his face. This definitely isn't the usual expression he usually wears.

My eyes go wide in realization. He is just trying to demean me. I note to myself. I guess tit for tat is what he is going to do. I have embarrassed him at least two-three times till now. He is going to try to get even. Damn. I should have known.

"Yeah, you are too much of a disgrace to my reputation." I stated, nonchalantly and mockingly. I don't give him the pleasure of looking into my eyes as he shoots daggers at me. How do I know he is doing so? I could feel his heated gazes on me. I smiled, smugly.

You aren't smart enough to beat me, Michael.

"Talk nicely!" He complained, hissing.

"Or what? Going to go crying to your momma for help?" I asked, mockingly and chuckled at his stupidity.

"If I want, I can throw you out of the car right now. Don't test my patience, sweetheart." He said through hissed teeth.

"If you wanted to throw me out of the car, why did you even stop for help?" I asked, and shot him a glare.

"I couldn't let two beautiful ladies die in this heat."

I gagged at this response.

Daniel's laughter reverberated in the car. "Sweetheart, aren't you just charming,"

I rolled my eyes, "I have to be, I managed to swirl an idiotic stalker such as you into my charm."

"Being cocky isn't good,"

"Not cocky, just confident." I stated smugly.

From the corner of my eyes I noticed Daniel shaking his head as a small smile played at his lips.

"I like you," He said.

"I have heard that before," I replied nonchalantly and rolled my eyes.

"I like you. I can't believe I am saying this, but it's true. I like you. You are very different from the girls I have dated before. And plus you are hot. It helps." He explained. His voice carried a sense of sincerity and loneliness. But his expression was placid. That's weird.

I shook my head. "Am I supposed to believe that?" I asked, incredulous. "And its only looks that attracts you to me."

"Yes you are supposed to. And your feisty nature too, it's charming." He stated, smiling.

I chuckled out loud. "You are surely are something. I mean aggressiveness isn't a charming trait."

"So what do you say?" He asked.

"About what?"

"You know you and me, us..." He said, suggestively.

He just doesn't get the clue. I don't like him. Am I going to have to spell that for him? It's insane that he actually thinks that I would be interested in someone like him. He might be hot and everything but his conceited attitude is something I can't handle and off course the shallow behavior.

"Are you always this delusional? I told you yesterday, I am not interested in you." I stated, straightforwardly.

"Why won't you give us a chance?" He asked, curiosity striking out from him.

"There is no us! I'm completely convinced we aren't meant for each other. You are just like my parents. Shallow and self centered. We won't work out." I explained, sincerely. I really did need him off my back. Its annoying to have a guy on your back asking to be with you every other second.

"I'm nothing like your parents." He said, after a couple of seconds.

I snorted. "Somehow your words and behavior conflict that statement."

"No seriously. Give me a chance; I'll prove it to you that I'm worth your time." He pleaded.

I shake my head mentally at his stupidity. What is he really planning? Demean me while dating me? Leave me hanging in between? Laugh at me? Call me on for a date and ditch? Break my heart?

That's the only thing I can guess out of this behavior and words. Who wants to date a person they barely know? Daniel doesn't know anything about me. I am pretty convinced that his words are hoax too. He is just trying to play with me.

I smug expression hovered over my face at the devilish idea running through my mind.

I shot a bright sweet smile and said, "Okay. I'll be your girlfriend, Daniel."
