Exhausted. That was the best term to describe what Alina currently felt. Her eyes felt heavy, too heavy to be bothered to open them, yet she decided to peel them open. And almost immediately she regretted her decision.
She squeezed her eyes shut, almost blinded by the brightness attacking her vision as a groan escaped her lips. As she slowly began to regain the rest of her senses, she felt arms around her and a warm presence she was leaning into.
And the first thing she heard was the sound of chaos filling her ears, something she really didn't want to be greeted by.
"Alina, I'm so glad you're awake."
Alina tilted her head up, her disoriented emerald eyes meeting Kara's calm sapphire blue ones. She was being carried protectively in the kryptonian's arms.
'Wha- What is going on?"
She turned her head, finally taking notice of what was happening around her. Barry stood defensively beside them while they were surrounded by a group of people in suits, their weapons aimed at the three.
"Stand down and no one gets hurt," a man wearing a complete gold and red suit ordered. "We can do this the easy way or the hard way."
"We're not your enemies," Barry answered calmly.
"I don't think you get to decide that," the walking tin can stated, hostility evident in his tone.
Alina motioned for Kara to place her down on her feet, and reluctantly the kryptonian did. A wave of tiredness instantly hit her but she balanced herself, assuring the older blonde that she was okay.
It appeared that Alina was the only one out of the three that was affected the most by the portal thing. And she was smart enough to figure out that they were most definitely on another earth judging from the foreign group of heroes around them, at least she thought they were heroes.
She glanced at Barry and Kara, who were both wary yet made no move to stand down.
"Alright then, it looks like the hard way it is."
Kara cautiously stepped forward. "Look, there's no need to fight. We can talk this-"
Without warning, a loud explosion echoed through the air and a repulsor beam hit the kryptonian straight in the chest, cutting her off and sending her flying back, slamming into a building as dust debris flew around her.
The metal man held a hand against his ear. "Sorry, what was that? I can't hear you over the sound of my repulsors."
Alina gritted her teeth, glaring murderously at him. "Oh, you just made a big mistake, tin can."
No one could hurt Kara and get away with it. Especially when the kryptonian herself could drag his iron ass and obliterate him in mere seconds.
A blonde walking American flag gripped his shield. "Just give up now and surrender. You're outnumbered and no match for us."
Barry and Alina were ready to fight them after initiating their attack on Kara. But they were waiting for the kryptonian's signal to strike.
"If you would've just listened to her, I could've gone without punching your metal face," Alina hissed.
The tin can held his hands up in mock surrender. "Woah, did this little kitten just make a threat? You two are outnumbered heavily, and your lady friend over there is unconscious-"
He was abruptly cut off by a blur of red and blue rocketing into him. Barry and Alina only saw a glimpse of Kara, who delivered a powerful punch, sending Iron-Man slamming through the street.
That was the signal.
Alina grinned smugly, calling out. "What were you saying, tin can? I can't hear you?"
"Be careful." Barry spared the blonde teenager a quick glance before engaging in combat with the man holding the shield.
"Aye, aye, captain." Alina saluted him playfully before pouncing away, gaining the attention of a couple of their team members who ran after her.
The feline vigilante turned the street, launching herself on top of a street lamppost, waiting for the two strangers to catch up to her. A redhead woman with night sticks behind her back and a blonde man with a bow strapped to his back halted below her.
In a way they appeared to be like Oliver and Sara's dopplegangers to Alina.
The wannabe Green Arrow notched an arrow and aimed it warily at her. "Who are you?"
"Well I'm glad you asked because now I'll take the time to reveal my secret identity," Alina replied sarcastically.
The redhead rolled her eyes. "Just stand down, kid. We don't want to hurt you."
"How about you make me, Kim Possible," Alina challenged with a smirk.
The purple archer shot an arrow at Alina, who backflipped off the street lamppost to dodge it, landing gracefully on her feet. He then suddenly charged at her, swinging his arm to land a punch at her to knock her out, but she easily sidestepped.
He blinked in surprise at her quick reflex and Alina took this chance to expand her staff from her pocket and whack him in the face. The purple archer yelped in pain as he was slightly dazed, stumbling back from the blow.
While her partner was trying to recover, the redhead lunged at Alina, joining in the fight. The two exchanged blows, their staffs colliding with a clang.
"You're good," the redhead complimented. "Where'd you get your training from?"
Alina had a quick flashback to the harsh fencing training her father had made her to since she was young. And also her practice sessions against Oliver which helped immensely as well.
The two circled each other warily. "Why? Would you like some pointers? I'd happily give you some."
The redhead chuckled. "You know, I like you. I'm Natasha."
"Chat Noir," Alina told her, leaning against her staff in a chill manner.
"Black cat," Natasha translated while she nodded. "That checks out."
"Now, will you just listen to me?"
Natasha dropped her guard down slightly. "I'm all ears."
"Thank you. Someone with brain cells!" Alina exclaimed. "We're heroes just like from another Earth. I know it seems impossible to believe but trust us. We're not your enemies."
"Surprisingly, that's not the most bizarre thing I've heard in my entire life," Natasha replied. "I'll take the risk and believe your word."
"Why wouldn't you have just talked instead of that annoying tin can? Would've made all our lives so much easier," Alina mumbled.
"That's Stark for you. We were called and ordered just to engage in combat with possible hostile aliens," Natasha informed.
"Hostile aliens?" Alina blinked.
Hostile? No.
Powerful, badass and charming were better words to describe the three that Alina would've taken.
And aliens? That one was maybe only Kara.
The blonde man joined Natasha's side. "That was mean, smacking me with your stick. I'll hold that against you for the rest of my life."
"Sorry not sorry." Alina smirked. "Now can you please stop your team before my friends demolish them."
"You're joking?"
Alina grinned. "Nope."
