Sonya had just managed to have 5 nightmares in a row. Some about the red room, some about Yelena being gone, which was her recent one. She accepted that Yelena was gone. That hasn't stopped her from missing her.

She glanced at the clock she had. It was six in the morning now so Sonya decided she didn't have to go back to sleep.

She slowly sat up, her hand going to her phone. She didn't want Natasha to come back so soon, she knew Natasha was busy. She had just put Jupiter in her contacts but she hadn't said anything.

Yet. "Might as well." She muttered. She texted them 'Hi'. She put her phone down and laid back down on her bed. She was going to have to work today so she would have to bring her camera. Her phone dinged notifying Sonya.

She grabbed her phone to see the text message. 'Hey, this is the person I gave my phone number to, right?' Sonya smiled at the text.

'Yes, the name's Sonya.' She replied. She watched as her phone showed that Jupiter saw her text and replied immediately. 'That's a beautiful name.'

Sonya smiled as they started to text each other, but stopped because Jupiter had to work. Sonya as well. Soon they started to facetime each other and they became extremely close. Just, not in the friend way.

They had made plans to go on their first date after 3 weeks of constantly texting and calling. When they met, everything just seemed to fall into place.

She was currently putting on her outfit that she decided to wear for their lunch date at the Chinese restaurant by Jupiter's house. She wore a long white sleeve shirt and a brown plaid overall dress.

She took a photo to send to Natasha as she walked down the stairs. She would take the elevator if she didn't trust them. The dumb superstitions in her brain from the red room had messed with her daily life. She walked outside to see on her GPS app that it was only 4 blocks away.

She walked quickly as she went to the restaurant. She felt her phone buzz as she saw Natasha's text. 'Don't be weird and you'll do great.'

Sonya rolled her eyes at the text as she put it into her small backpack, which held her wallet as well. She walked in and saw Jupiter awkwardly wave her over at the booth.

Sonya smiled as she sat down in the chair across from them.

"Hi, Jupiter Miles." They introduced. It was obvious that Jupiter was nervous. They wore a white shirt with baggy jeans.

They looked amazing.

"Sonya Petrov. You look beautiful." Sonya commented.

"Are you from around here?" Jupiter asked. Sonya's American accent was still not perfect. Sometimes her Russian accent came through.

"I'm from Russia," she told them, not wanting to give the full information just yet. They both sat silently as the waitress ordered their drinks. They both didn't know what to say to each other. It was like meeting someone for the first time.

"So, what's your interested profession to work in?" Sonya decided to ask as she saw a pin on their bag that said midtown: school of science and technology. Jupiter nodded as they started to explain what their job was going to be.

They explained that they wanted to be a scientist. Specifically, a physicist like Doctor Bruce Banner. They were huge fans of his work. They currently were working to get their bachelor's degree from NYU.

When sonya watched them talk passionately, something in her system just made her heart flutter. All she wanted was to watch them talk and smile for the rest of their life.

"Well, what about you?" They asked as they got their appetizer. Sonya shrugged.

"Not exactly a fun one. Lots of trauma." She answered. Jupiter grabbed her hand in sympathy. Sonya looked up and smiled. The first smile she could think of since forever.

Sonya took a deep breath as she looked curiously at the spring rolls. Jupiter offered her one and she took it. She dipped it into the sauce. When she bit into the roll, her mouth exploded with joy.

"What is this?" Sonya asked, so mesmerized by the flavor that she didn't even realize she had food in her mouth. Jupiter snickered a little before answering, "spring rolls."

They kept talking until they decided their time was up. They would soon meet up all the time whether it was going to get food, walking around central park, or just hanging out at each other's apartment.

Jupiter had helped Sonya create her spectacular American accent. It took her a while but she successfully managed to create it, once she had listened enough of Jupiter's favorite science podcasts.

Which is how Sonya helped Jupiter. Whenever they would listen to the podcast, which explained Bruce Banner's work, it would help Jupiter figure out what they should write on their essay for their classes.

That's what they did. They helped each other. They loved each other, even though they haven't said it yet. They said it is the little things they do for each other.

Whether it's making lunch for Jupiter and sending it to them while they work at the coffee shop. Or when Jupiter leaves a cup of coffee by Sonya's bedstand whenever they sleepover at her house.

They made it official after 3 months to their families. Well, Jupiter's family. Sonya told Natasha in secret. She was still scared to admit her former life to them.

Jupiter watched as Sonya always made sure that they wouldn't talk about her family. So Jupiter tried to make sure to keep sonya comfortable when she met theirs. She wouldn't talk to them about her family, which worried them.

Sonya could tell. So she made the tough decision. I mean, they were starting to make their relationship more intimate.
She took a deep breath as she watched Jupiter order takeout.

"Yup, 2 orders of spring rolls, that'll be all Mr. Lee!" Jupiter watched as Sonya walked towards them, and gently grabbed their hand and they moved themselves to Sonya's dinner table.

"Uh-huh, okay, see you soon." Their voice laced with concern as they both slowly sat down. Jupiter hung up as sonya grabbed their hands.

"I'm going to tell you my past. I need to tell you before we can become something more. I'm sorry for not telling you sooner," Sonya apologized. Jupiter grabbed Sonya's hands, letting her know that their relationship was going to be okay.

They were going to be okay.

"I am what you would call a widow," Sonya started, her Russian accent coming into her voice. Jupiter nodded, not exactly knowing what that meant.

"I was put in the red room when I was a firstborn. The red room is where they take little girls and they turn them into killers. Weapons. Things you can't possibly comprehend." Sonya looked at Jupiter, who nodded, notifying her to keep going.

"It's also where Natasha Romanoff was becoming the black widow. I was known as the Child Killer. I was allegedly too good to be called a widow."

Sonya closed her eyes at the memory. It had been haunting her for so long and now she was talking about it. Her eyes felt them forming tears but she forced herself to hold them in.

Sonya squeezed Jupiter's hands. "But I hated it. I wanted a normal life. I felt horrible for wanting one since everyone seems to want more, but I wanted less." Sonya's voice cracked.

"I took down the red room with Natasha and others. The 3 had gotten blipped. Natasha's occupied with work and here I am, trying to be normal." Jupiter had listened intently. They watched as their girlfriend expose herself, like a liar who gets called out by someone. Jupiter's hands went to hold Sonya's face.

"You are who you are now. You don't kill anymore, you make them happy. And smile. You're not the person you were before, love." Jupiter responded.

She took a deep breath as they heard the door knock. Jupiter grabbed their wallet and went to go pay for their dinner. Sonya smiled as she watched Jupiter awkwardly dance to her with the food in their hands.

Jupiter's smile stayed the same to sonya. It was never a sympathetic, or pity one. It was a general one.

Which lets Sonya know that Jupiter has her back. They have each other's back. They both respect each other and they aren't going to judge. They do love each other, and that's what Sonya needed. Love.
