The Smile Project
Morning had come as the sun began to rise on another beautiful day in Trollstopia. At Rock Hollow, Melody was peacefully asleep in bed when the first ray of light shined from the window and made her stir, gently opening her eyes and sitting upright, stretching her arms up high. She looked over at her plush Glitter Gator and hugged it, saying, "Morning, Grenda." While the toy was unresponsive, Melody didn't seem to mind as she placed it under her pillow before she got up from her bed and looked over, spotting Val, who was still asleep, snoring away. Melody snickered before coming up with a hilarious idea, climbing up the bedpost, maintaining her balance as she peered over her sleeping cousin. Then, Melody said, "Stage dive," and lept off of the post, landing belly first on Val, who immediately sta up from the sudden wake-up call. When Val saw her cousin on the bed, smirking at Val, the Rock ambassador broke into laughter, saying, "Nice wake-up call, Melly," as Melody smiled happily, saying, "Nailed it"! Outside, later on, Melody was happily walking through town, passing by the crowd of friendly faces she saw along the way while making her way into Pop Village. Melody saw Biggie decorating a beautiful vanilla cake with purple and blue frosting, making her stop to say, "Hey, Biggie! Wow, that cake looks delicious"! Biggie happily replied, "Thanks, Melody. Once it's frosted, it's gonna look really beautiful"! Melody then said, "You know what could really make your cake extra special, Biggie," before she ran off and came back with a container of rainbow sprinkles, saying, "Sprinkles"! Biggie gasped before saying, "You're right; I almost forgot about the sprinkles! Thanks, Melody"! Melody then got another idea, saying, "Wait, I know something even better than just one container of sprinkles," and ran off once more before coming back with another container of sprinkles, but this time, they were pink glitter sprinkles, as she said, "Two kinds of sprinkles: rainbow sprinkles for the outer covering, and glitter sprinkles for on top"! Biggie's eyes glistened in awe, as he had a huge smile while he said, "It's like you can read my mind! Thank you, Melody," which made the Pop/Rock Troll smile right back and say, "No problem; glad I could help you out"! With that, Melody left to continue her walk through the village, stopping by Meadow Sprigg's flower booth and smelling the beautiful flowers that were blooming in colorful pots. She then spotted Meadow Sprigg watering the flowers as she commented, "Wow, Meadow; your begonias look even more beautiful than last week! I bet you'll take first prize in the flower show again"! Meadow Sprigg smiled brightly from the comment, saying, "Aww, thanks, Melody. Would you like one"? Melody nodded as Meadow picked a begonia and gave it to Melody, who smelled the flower before putting it on the collar of her jacket, clicking her heels while walking in stride.
As Melody continued to stroll down the street, she saw Harper painting a wondrous picture of a cupcake with red frosting, blue sprinkles, and a yellow star-shaped candy topping, making Melody stop to say, "That painting's looking's great, Harper, and you're using my favorite color"! Harper smiled happily while saying, "Oh, thanks, Melody, you're such a nice troll with quite the artistic taste"! Melody then saw Gia Grooves pass by and said to her, "Well, Happy Birthday, Gia," which made Gia say with a huge smile, "Thanks, Melody." Melody then saw King Peppy passing through as she said, "Happy Day After Your Birthday, Peppy," as the former king Pop Troll answered back with a wondrous grin, "What a lovely hi, Melody, thank you so much"! Melody then saw DJ Suki working on her turntables on top of her wooferbug, stopping to say, "and DJ Suki, a big Happy Birthday to you"! DJ Suki looked up from what she was doing, confused, as she commented, "Huh? But my birthday isn't for another-," before Melody interrupted with, "Another 103 days, I know, but I just wanted to point it out because you're my friend." DJ Suki chuckled and said, "Wow, thanks, Mel! How did you even remember"? Melody then said, "I saw it on Poppy's calendar, and thought it'd be nice to mention it! Just another way to spread cheer on another beautiful day in Trollstopia"! Later on, Melody stopped by Aggie's pod and dropped off a gift basket full of cupcakes and fun knickknacks before knocking on the side of the entrance and hiding behind a tree branch. She peeked her head out and watched the MMT poke her head outside to see who was there before noticing the gift basket. Aggie picked it up and looked at it in awe, wondering who it came from before she heard the sound of someone snickering and turned her head to see, spotting Melody's ponytail and sneakers sticking out from behind the tree branch, with the Pop/Rock Troll currently snickering, trying to contain her laughter from how hilarious it was to see her best friend wondering who gave her the gift basket. Melody then heard wings flapping and saw Aggie flying above her, holding the gift basket as she said with a smile, "So, I'm gonna guess that you are the secret giver of this well-packed gift basket"? Melody blushed in embarrassment while sheepishly chuckling, scratching the back of her head, before the MMT pulled her best friend in a hug and said, "Thanks, Mel! I love the gift basket"! Melody happily hugged Aggie back while saying, "Well, you know me; I love to make my friends smile," before flashing a bright grin, as Aggie added, "You know it, sister," while smiling with her.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Smile (from MLP)~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Melody was soon strolling happily through Trollstopia, with Aggie following her, both saying hello to all the Trolls she saw, waving hi to both Rhythm and Gust, before moving a small tree branch to the side to allow a sunbathing Classical Troll to receive some sunlight.
Both: We're Aggie and Melody! *waves to Rhythm* Hiya! And we am here to say! *waves to Gust* How ya doing? We're gonna make you smile, and we will brighten up your da-a-a-ay!
Then, they noticed a little Country Troll boy and a little Funk Troll girl looked sad and approached them, giving them both a big hug, which made them both feel better.
It doesn't matter now! *was behind the Funk Troll* What's up? If you are sad or blue *was behind the Country Troll* Howdy! 'Cause cheering up our friends *hugs both kids* is just what we are here to do!
Melody and Aggie then rode down a vine slide before landing on top of a flyer bug, riding it in the sky while passing some of the fellow villagers, who all smiled at themas they watched them pass by.
'Cause we love to make you smile, smile, smile!
Melody: Yes we do!
Both: It fills our hearts with sunshine all the while!
Aggie: Yes it does!
Both: 'Cause all we really need's a smile, smile, smile from these happy friends of ours!
The Pop/Rock Troll and MMT then skipped over to where a bunch of Trolls, including Poppy, Synth, and Holly, were skipping rope, and they each picked up a jump rope to jump with them.
Aggie: I like to see you grin! *saw Poppy skip rope* Awesome!
Melody: I love to see you beam! *saw Synth skip rope* Rock on!
Both: The corners of your mouth turned up are always our special dream! *high-fives each other* High-five!
Suddenly, Aggie saw that CJ and Priscilla's jump ropes were both broken, so they couldn't skip rope, which was very sad. so, Aggie and Melody picked up both kids and jumped rope, with everyone watching in awe, while the kids sat on their shoulders, smiling brightly an feeling a lot better.
Melody: But if you're kind of worried.
Aggie: And your face has made a frown.
Both: *skips ropes with CJ and Priscilla riding on their shoulders* We'll work real hard to do our best to turn that sad frown upside-down!
'Cause we love to make you grin, grin, grin!
Aggie: Yes we do!
Then, over at Country Corral, Delta and Buckaroo were struggling to paint a huge silo gray and had only done a little bit of the base. When Aggie and Melody both saw how tired they looked,d and how much of it needed to be painted, they both worked together to paint the entire silo gray, and added fun rainbow-colored horseshoe designs on it, including a picture of their smiling faces, and the sight of the newly painted silo made both Country Trolls smile too.
Both: Bust it out from ear to ear let it begin! Just give me a joyful grin, grin, grin, and you fill me with good cheer!
Melody: It's true some days are dark and lonely.
Aggie: And maybe you feel sad, but we both will be there to show you that it isn't that bad.
Both: There's one thing that makes us happy, and makes our whole lives worthwhile! And that's when we talk to our friends, and get them to smile! *some of the Trolls in Trollstopia started to grin*
In the heart of Trollstopia, most of the village saw Aggie and Melody singing and dancing and followed them along to the beat of the song, while jumping across little mushrooms and pods, and strolling casually through town.
We really are so happy; your smiles fill us with glee!
Aggie: I give a smile!
Melody: I get a smile!
Both: And that's so special to me!
'Cause I love to see you beam, beam, beam!
Melody: Yes we do!
Both: Tell me what more can I say to make you see that we do!
Soon, Poppy, Branch, Barb, Trollzart, Trollex, Delta, Quincy, and Essence joined in on their little stroll, as Aggie and Melody ended up riding on Essence (Aggie) and Quincy (Melody) while this happened. Soon, all of Trollstopia was so motivated by the cheerful song, they even joined in on the singing!
It makes me happy when you beam, beam, beam! Yes, it always makes my day!
Come on, every Troll, and smile, smile, smile! Fill our hearts up with sunshine, sunshine! All we really need's a smile, smile, smile from these happy friends of ours!
All: Come on, every Troll, and smile, smile, smile! Fill our hearts up with sunshine, sunshine! All we really need's a smile, smile, smile from these happy friends of ours!
Both: (All (villagers): Come on, every Troll, and smile, smile, smile!) Yes, the perfect gift, you see? (All (villagers): Fill our hearts up with sunshine, sunshine!) Is a smile as wide as a mile! (All (villagers): All we really need's a smile, smile, smile from these happy friends of ours!) To make us happy as can be!
All: Smi-ile! Smi-ile! Smi-ile! Smi-ile! Smile! Come on and smile! Come on and!
Both: Smile!
After they had concluded singing both girls broke into laughter, with Melody saying, "Wow, I mean I knew a smile was cool, but I didn't think that it'd bring this much happiness and excitement." Aggie then said, "Well, that's the beauty and power of smiling; it can make any situation better, and bring joy and happiness." Suddenly, both Trolls heard the sound of bickering and turned their heads to see where the bickering was coming from. They soon saw that two Trolls that worked at the Fun Time Factory were having an argument about what color to paint the sidewall. The yellow Pop Troll said, "I say we paint it blue," while the purple Pop Troll said, "I say we paint it red"! Both Trolls then swatted their paintbrushes at each other while shouting the name of the color they wanted. Aggie then cracked her knuckles and said, "Watch this, Mel," and flew over to the Trolls, saying, "Um, if I may suggest, why not paint it purple"? Both Pop Trolls looked at Aggie, who offered a warm friendly smile, and it worked, with the purple Pop Troll saying, "Great idea! Mixing colors," while the yellow Pop Troll said, "Master Aggie, you're the best"! As both Trolls started to mix their paints, Aggie flew back to Melody, saying, "And voila; the power of smiling has struck again! Not only making others feel good but solving problems with ease"! Melody seemed to be really impressed, saying, "That was Troll-tastic! A smile used to help settle conflicts; pure genius! I want to try! But...on who"? As Melody looked around, she couldn't seem to find anyone that was in a bad mood, prompting her to say, "Awwww, seems like everyone's feeling happy today." Aggie then saw something that made her point and say, "Not everyone, look"! Melody looked and saw that Sky Toronto was the only Troll that didn't seem to be smiling, as he was looking over a clipboard, making Melody beam and say, "Ooh, perfect! Let me try," and approached Sky Toronto, asking, "Morning Sky! Do you like the color purple," and flashed a smile, thinking she was gonna get him to smile as well.
However, that was not what happened. Instead, Sky kept looking at his clipboard and replied, without smiling, "Meh, it's a pretty interesting color, but not one I would call my favorite." Melody was taken aback, as she asked, "Sky, when was the last time you ever smiled"? Sky Toronto looked up at Melody and said, "Oh, uh, I thought you might have been aware of this already, but I'll be glad to tell you this: I don't like to smile." Melody and Aggie both gasped in shock, with Aggie asking, "You...don't...like to smile," while Melody added, "What kind of Troll doesn't like to smile? Everyone loves to smile! It symbolizes our sense of happiness and shows off the enjoyment we feel inside when we feel so happy"! Sky Toronto then said, "I won't lie, it is something I often see, but I don't seem to see what's the point with smiling. It merely does not make a Troll seem serious when it comes to business, especially with the factory I run. I often find myself with very heavy schedules that require a lot of work, time, and energy, and smiling is merely a distraction from it. Plus, it is a waste of my energy that I would have more use for inputting it into my work than to just simply make the corners of my mouth curl up. Now, if you'll excuse me, I must go attend my meeting with the fellow custodians," and walked away, leaving Aggie and Melody with widened eyes and jaws dropped to the floor, while the Pop/Rock Troll asked as she crossed her arms, "Geesh, does that Troll ever smile"? Aggie added, "Yeah, he's always so focused on his work, I don't think it can be possible to ever make him flash a grin." Suddenly, both girls saw Poppy talking by, as the Pop queen greeted them, saying, "Hey, Aggie! Hey, Mel! what are you two up to"? Aggie was the first to speak up, saying to Poppy, "Poppy, you've known Sky Toronto longer than we have; we have a question about him that you might know the answer to." Poppy smiled and said, "Of course, you can ask me! What's your question," as Melody asked, "Have Sky Toronto ever...smiled"?
Poppy then said, "Oh yeah, he has smiled before," as the reply made the MMT and Pop/Rock Troll grin hopefully, while Poppy added, "It was a while ago, back when I was showing him how to sing, Though since then, he only really smiled once, but hasn't done it since. He's usually always focused on running his business and keeping the Fun Time factory up to date on all of its projects." Aggie and Melody both groaned in disappointment, with Aggie saying, "Guess it's not easy making Sky Toronto smile." Suddenly, Melody began to develop an idea, saying, "Unless...what if we can make him smile by having him do fun things with us? Away from work at the factory? then, he'll bound to smile"! Aggie seemed to like that idea, saying, "Mel, that's perfect! We just have to get Sky Toronto to spend time with us away from anything related to the Funtime Factory and join in on some fun activities, and soon, he'll be beaming just as brightly as we are"! Poppy then said, "Well, I do love your idea, girls, and I really appreciate that you both want to help him, but Sky has been this way ever since the Funtime Factory was first built. He just took to business like Trolls take to cupcakes. He made the company soar sky-high; that's why he's called Sky Toronto." Aggie then said, "Well, he must've been called something happier before he started the factory, or maybe he was Pre-Sky Toronto." Melody then said, "Still, I think if Sky sees us having fun, he'll be able to smile too! I mean, who doesn't love to have fun, right"? Poppy then said, "Well that is true; ok, I'm in! What should we do"? Aggie then said, "I know! Nothing's more fun than a nature hike," while Melody added, "Especially to the Fields of Glitter-golds, the most sparkly kind of flower ever"! Poppy's eyes sparkled in joy as she stated, "Ooh, yes! Definitely! Let's each pack a bag and then go get Sky"! The trio quickly ran to their houses and they all packed up a bag before joining back in the center of Trollstopia to walk over to the Funtime Factory. Poppy arrived first, her bag full of a lot of things, while Aggie came, wearing her blue backpack, saying, "My bag is all packed," before she then saw Melody come towards them with a huge backpack full of supplies, saying, "You call that a bag? This is what being prepared looks like." Aggie smirked and asked rhetorically, "For what? Moving to a new house," as all three girls giggled and started to walk to the Funtime Factory together. Melody then asked, "Do you think Sky Toronto will willingly come with us," as Poppy then said, "I'm sure he will, and if he doesn't, I got a little secret weapon tucked away just in case."
Trollex then came by, also wearing a backpack, as he said while walking beside Aggie, "Aggie, I'm coming with you. you'll need a bodyguard in case there's danger," as Melody smirked and said playfully stated, "Oh yeah, right, and it's totally not because you want to get to spend some time with your girlfriend and be all cute and loving together," as Trollex's cheeks flushed red from blushing, while Aggie giggled and said, "Well, it would be fun to spend some time together," and kissed Trollex, who happily kissed her back. Behind Trollex was Val, who stepped out from behind the Techno king, also wearing a backpack, saying, "Well, I'm coming too; I'm sure you'll need me around to liven things up if things get dull." Poppy then said, "Well, the more the merrier; of course you both can join in"! As they continued to walk, Val whispered to Trollex, "Hey, I bet you Sky won't smile," as Trollex smirked and said, "I'll take that bet," before soon, everyone was at the front door of the Funtime Factory. Poppy knocked on the door and waited before she saw the door open, courtesy of Sky Toronto, who saw the Pop queen and her friends, and asked, "Can I help you Trolls with something"? Aggie then said, "We're going on a nature hike! And we'll camp out under the stars, sing songs-," while Melody added, "And play hide and seek and make chocolate smores"! Everyone waited to see what the golden glitter Pop Troll was gonna say, as Sky Toronto straightened his tie and stated, "Sorry, but as much fun as that seems, I'm unfortunately too busy to partake in this. I have a lot of work tp do, and I'm not much of a fan for hikes, or camping." he started to close the door, but Poppy's foot stopped it from closing, as the Pop queen crossed her arms, smiled, and said, "Ok, I didn't wish to do this, but I, Queen Poppy, am ordering you to go, and an order is an order." All of her friends were surprised to see Poppy playing the royalty card, with Val chuckling and saying, "Oh snap, Popsqueak just used the royalty card"! Sky Toronto's facial expression didn't seem to change, though he did say, "Very well, seeing as I'm now instructed to go, it does not change my opinion about how I view camping or nature hikes because I have-," but not 15 seconds later, Sky Toronto was wearing a packed backpack and was being carried by Val, courtesy of her hair, while Poppy said, "A lot of work, we know," while everyone walked together into the forest, while Melody said, "Great, so every Troll's on board! Let's go hiking," and they went down the forest path on their nature hike.
As they walked, everyone, except Sky, was singing a hiking song to pass the time during their little stroll.
All (except Sky Toronto): Trolls are on the run! On the trail, over hill and dale, Trolls out on a hike! Having fun and smiling smile!
Tronto: Is something I don't like.
Melody: It's one for Trolls!
Aggie: And Trolls for all!
Melody and Aggie: Togetherness is our game! And when you go hiking with friends!
Sky Toronto: It feels completely lame.
Sky's lack of singing/energy of joining in the song made Aggie and Melody feel concerned about if their plan was going to work. At a large creek, the Trolls found an old tree that had fallen and laid across the creek like a bridge, which made the perfect use for getting over it. Though that didn't stop Val from swinging on a vine to get across, saying while swinging, "This is so hardcore"! Trollex decided to show off a bit and instead of talking across the log bridge on his feet/fins, like everyone else, he crossed it by walking on his hair, which extended out like limbs as he moved forward. Aggie cheered for Trollex, shouting, "Yeah, go on, Trollex! Woohoo! You can do it," while blushing as she witnessed her boyfriend's physical prowess in action. When Trollex made it to the other side, he hoisted himself up and landed on his feet, crossing his arms and smiling in success as he stood with Val and Poppy, who watched Sky Toronto plainly walk across the bridge while Aggie and Melody both cheered for him. however, suddenly, the log began to turn slightly, throwing Sky Toronto a bit off-balance. Then, the log turned again, and Sky Toronto ended up falling into the water with a splash, prompting Aggie to fly over and pick him up out of the water. Later on, Aggie and Melody were both happily running down the path, racing each other while enjoying the warm rays of sunlight that was shining on them, as Aggie touched a tall oak tree first and said, "I win"! Melody chuckled and said, "Almost had you beat that time"! However, when they saw Sky Toronto walk by them, both girls noticed that there was a dark storm cloud that was hovering over his head, with Melody asking, "Where did that cloud even come from," while Aggie added, "Better question: how is it hovering above his head and not up in the sky"? Suddenly, a lightning bolt was emitted from the cloud as it electrocuted Sky Toronto, charring him with soot as he fell to the ground and groaned in pain. A little while after that, the group was laying on a mossy hill while looking up at the sky, watching the birds flying by with grace and beauty. Everyone seemed to be enjoying the sight, except Sky Toronto, who didn't show any signs of smiling or interest at all. Suddenly, there was a falling whistle sound, which led to a huge drop of a tan goopy liquid to fall and cover Sky's face, with everyone saw and was surprised of what had just happened. Melody tried to make things less awkward by saying, "On the plus side, they say it's good luck when a bird poops on you," but seeing Sky Toronto not looking amused one bit, the Pop/Rock Troll sheepishly chuckled before saying while scratching the back of her head, "Yeah, probably not a good time to mention it."
Later, the Trolls had found a huge Jelly Berry tree, with ripe and juicy Jelly Berries ready to be picked, as Val decided to knock some of the berries down for them. while her friends cheered her on, Val pulled out her guitar, reeled it back, and swung it hard, smashing it while also shaking the tree and knocking a few berries down. Unfortunately, Sky Toronto was in the way of the falling berries, to which he saw, and frantically stepped side-to-side to avoid getting squished by a falling berry. When all of the berries had fallen, he sighed in relief thinking he was safe...until a huge bird's nest fell and squished him, while two baby birds that were inside chirped curiously about what had just happened. Soon, the Trolls were back on the hiking trail again, but this time, Sky Toronto insisted he walked upfront to avoid any more bad things happening...or so he thought. A giant Cuddlepup ended up walking over the group, but it accidentally stepped on Sky Toronto, who got stuck to the Critter's paw and made a squeaking noise every time he got stepped on, while repeatedly saying, "Ow," while everyone cringed in concern for Sky's well-being. Hours later, night had fallen, and the Trolls had set out their sleeping bags and set up a campfire to roast marshmallows to make smores. Melody placed her perfectly cooked marshmallow on a piece of chocolate that was already resting on a graham cracker before she picked up another graham cracker and placed it on top of the marshmallow, making it squeeze down a bit while expanding, as she said, "There, the perfect smore, light and airy, and yet ever so sweet and tasty." Val saw the more and then said, "Nah, you just eat them," and picked it up, plopping it into her mouth and chewing noisily, while Melody sighed, shaking her head from watching her older cousin messily eat. Then, she heard Val let out a burp, prompting her to say, "You know, you could at least say "Excuse me," which made Val say, "I was just about to, but you interrupted me." Val then cleared her throat and said, "Excuse me," which made Melody smile and say, "There you go, but now, you owe me two smores for the one you ate, which was supposed to be mine." Val groaned, but seeing Melody raise an eyebrow, she straightened up and said, "Ok ok, I'll make you two, Melly," and stuck two marshmallows onto her stick and brought it close to the fire so she could start roasting them.
Meanwhile, Aggie was finishing up roasting her marshmallows, blowing on them to cool them off, as Trollex was finished eating the more he made, but still had a bit of marshmallow goo on his cheek, to which Aggie noticed and giggled, saying while pointing to her own cheek, "Um, Trollex, you got a little something on your cheek, right here." Trollex saw this and quickly grazed his hand across his cheek, getting a little bit of the marshmallow goo off while asking, "Did I get it," as Aggie snickered and said, "Not exactly." Meanwhile, Poppy was telling everyone a joke, as she said, "And then, the worm Critter said, You can't love me, I'm your other end"! Everyone soon broke into laughter from the funny joke, except for Sky Toronto, who said, "Your jokes do not seem to be humorous to me," and pulled his marshmallow from the fore, but was shocked to be that it burnt so badly, I crumbled into ashes, making him add, "And I am not fond of roasting marshmallows; it's more efficient to eat them as they are." After everyone was done eating smores, they decided to play a guessing game called "Who Am I," where everyone each picked a card and placed it on their heads, and then, while one person is guessing who they are, everyone else had to give them hints as to help them guess who they were. Aggie had a Smidge card, Val had a Trollzart card, Melody had a Delta card, Poppy had a Low-Note Jones card, and Trollex had a Barb card, and everyone was crowding around Sky Toronto, encouraging him to guess who he was, while Aggie said, "Come on, you're almost there! It's easy! You live in the ocean, you love to make music and sing." Sky Toronto was sitting while his card was on his head, as he had a Synth card, but he didn't want to guess, saying, "I believe this is a waste of time; I would rather look at my files to see who I am rather than randomly guess." Val smirked and said to Trollex, "Well, I guess I'm gonna win that bet then," as Trollex smirked and said, "Don't speak too soon; it's not over yet, Val." Then, the next activity they did around the campfire was a sing-along, as Poppy strummed her ukelele, Val was adding back-up on her guitar, Aggie was clapping while she hummed along with Trollex. Sky Toronto did not partake in the singing, as Melody, who was also playing her guitar, danced around him while she sang a little ditty.
Melody: Here is Sky Toronto, and a tale of a Troll who'd rarely smile! But this song will fill him with glee if we sing for a while!
Then, Poppy told everyone a very scary ghost story, saying, "And that's what the mysterious jar in Branch's rations collection smells like," before making a scary facial expression and doing an evil cackle. Aggie and Trollex both shuddered in fright, hugging one another, before they both looked at each other, seeing what they were doing, and first, blushed heavily, but shared a kiss before breaking into laughter. Meanwhile, Val was clinging tightly to Melody, who was struggling to breathe, as Val stated nervously, "G-G-Great story, Popsqueak! Scary, n-n-not that I was scared or anything," as Melody gasped out sarcastically/desperately wanting oxygen, "Yeah, like that's true." Then, everyone saw that not only was Sky Toronto disinterested in the story but he was curled up in his sleeping bag, saying, "Not really interesting. If I wanted to read a scary story, I would've archived horror story scrapbooks. Well, I am off to sleep, goodnight," and fell asleep, with everyone watching in slight disappointment. Melody sighed and said, "This isn't working at all, I don't think we're ever gonna get him to smile." Suddenly, Aggie felt her mind daze as a vision came through, playing in her head. In the vision, it showed that Sky Toronto was looking at something in awe, and a huge smile formed on his lips. When the vision ended, Aggie snapped back into it and said, "Don't give up, hope, guys. Just be patient and keep smiling, it'll work eventually." That gave everyone hope as they soon went to bed in their sleeping bags. The next morning, the group had packed up and found a great spot to go zip-lining across a small canyon. There was a rope already set up, and sticks that they could use to ride down the rope, as Poppy had placed out a huge beanbag for each Troll to land on once they made it across. So far, Poppy, Trollex, Melody, and Aggie have gone already, as Poppy shouted, "Come on, Val! It's your turn"! Val picked up a stick and zip-lined down the rope, shouting, "Yeah," before landing on the beanbag, laughing while saying, "That was awesome! Let's do it again"! Aggie then said, "We need Sky to come across first," before she then shouted, "Come on, Sky Toronto, you're gonna love it"! Sky Toronto, who was still on the other side, shouted, "I do not find any enjoyment in a risk-defying activity such as this. I do not think that this will be as fun as you guys say it is." Val crossed her arms and said, "Oh boy, we might as well forget it," before Melody declared, "Give it a try, Sky, it's fun"! Sky Toronto groaned as he picked up his stick and placed it on the rope before looking down at the deep cliff below him.
He was waiting to see when would be the right time to go, as he took a step forward, but didn't think the propulsion would be so quick as he started to ride down the zip-line. While he rode it, he was very cautious about not falling, but then, for a moment, he started to feel...something. The rush of the air, the adrenaline pumping through his veins, it felt...exciting. So exciting and...enjoyable. In fact, so enjoyable, he started to curl his mouth up, and it looked like he was just about to smile when suddenly, his zip-lining stick started to make sparks on the rope, burning it and creating ember sparks due to going so fast. Sky Toronto noticed his stick and screamed in fear, while everyone else screamed in concern for Sky, with Aggie shouting, "Slow down! you're going too fast"! At the moment he zipped by everyone, he shouted, "I really do not like to go fast," before suddenly, Sky Toronto crashed into a tree, with everyone wincing in concern, as they heard Sky's muffled voice mention, "Not fun at all crashing into a tree," before he fell to the ground. Val chuckled and said, "Ha, guess I won. After that, there's no way Sky will be smiling any time soon," while Poppy ran to Sky's unconscious body and shouted, "No, Sky! I'll never forget you," and broke into a hard sob, thinking Sky Toronto was dead. Then, Sky's eyes flickered open as he stated, "Trees are not a fun use of landing equipment." Poppy stopped sobbing to see that Sky was awake, as she happily said, "Sky, you're still alive," while everyone else gathered around him to make sure he was ok. When Sky Toronto tried to get up, he held his left leg in pain, saying, "Ouch, I think my leg is sprained." Poppy, seeing this, stated, "If that's the case, then I'm sad to say this hike is over, but how can we bring him back to Trollstopia"? Trollex suggested, "We can carry him on our backs and cross the rope. I'll just do the smash test to see if it's still sturdy enough," and readied her guitar to smash onto the rope. However, Val saw the angle the guitar was in, as she shouted, "Val, wait, don't use the sharp end of your-," but her voice fell on deaf ears. Val swung her guitar down on the rope, but since the sharp end was the end that landed on the rope, it not only didn't break, but it cut right through and made the rope snap and break, removing one of the only ways back to the other side. Val saw what had happened and nervously smiled at the group, who only groaned in frustration as Aggie facepalmed and Melody glumly added, "Guitar." Trollex then asked, "How are we gonna get back now"?
Melody looked around before saying, "Hey, we got some wood and vines and materials here to make a stretcher! We can build it and put Sky on top so he can ride it and come with us without having to walk"! With that, the gang worked together to build a strong and decent stretcher for Sky Toronto to sit on for their trip home. Once it was all built, Trollex place Sky Toronto onto it while Val and Poppy used rope to tie Sky into place so he couldn't fall off of it or come loose during the trip. Everyone was really amazed at how well it came out, with Melody saying, "Well done, guys," while Aggie said, "Awesome idea, Mel"! sky didn't seem amused, saying, "Well, it does seem that you've made a seemingly strong structure to carry me home, but now how do we get home is the real question." Aggie looked down the cliff as she said, "Well, our best bet would be to climb down the cliff, get to the ground, and then climb up the other cliff to get up to the other side." Poppy then said, "Aggie, Melody, you take the right side! Val and Trollex, you go left," as the team worked together to pick up the stretcher, holding it high with their arms. Since Melody was a bit shorter than everyone else, due to being a bit younger than the others, she also used her hair to help hold the stretcher up high. Once everyone was set, Trollex declared, "Rescue party report! Ready"? Aggie, Melody, and Val all declared, "Ready," while Sky Toronto said, "Not ready mentally, buj physically, I am ready," as Poppy then looked over the cliff and saw how high and deep it was, stating to everyone, "Now, remember: stick together, and walk down slowly." With that, everyone began to carefully walk down the cliff path, carrying the giant stretcher. Sky Toronto did not know whether to feel unsure or certain that their idea was gonna work, as Trollex reassured him by saying, "Don't worry you're safe with us." However, just before they could even start going down the path, Trollex's fin tripped on a small rock, and the shift of weight prompted everyone to start running down the path very fast, screaming in worry, and even dragging along popp with them, as Aggie shouted, "She said slowly! She said slowly"! Melody tried to dig in the heels of her sneakers to get everyone to slow down, but it didn't work, as they all quickly jumped over rocks and ended up riding on the corner sides of the stretcher, shifting their weight to make the stretcher move to dodge the upcoming obstacles in their way.
When the path began to get more narrow, with Val's face close to peering over the open drop down the cliff, everyone shifted the stretcher so it was then riding on the side rock wall, going through the narrow path, before they got sent into the air upside-down, screaming as they were sent flying. Sky Toronto saw that they were coming across another stone path and quickly made the stretcher turn around so the screaming Trolls could safely ride down the path again as they kept sliding and sliding. Then, they noticed that there was an upcoming tree in their way, and when they hit the roots, it tossed off the Trolls that were riding on the stretcher, sending them hurtling into the air in slow-motion, while Sky Toronto was still sitting in the stretcher, his facial expression remained unchanged. Then, everyone began to fall down to the ground again, with Melody hanging onto her huge, supplies-filled backpack, as they all tried to hold onto the stretcher, but the Trolls were falling too fast to keep up with the lighter stretcher as to them, they saw the stretcher, with Sky, "go up," while they continued to fall. While falling, Aggie then realized something and said, "Oh wait, I can fly," and flapped her wings, helping her to stay in the air, before she saw everyone falling and shouted, "Oops," while flying after her falling friends. Everyone else kept screaming for their lives as they hit the tree branches before colliding to the ground, with Melody's backpack landing near them. the Trolls on the ground all groaned in pain while Poppy commented, "Oh, that hurts," while Sky Toronto shouted as everyone saw Aggie helping to free his stretcher (to which he was still tied to luckily) from the caught tree branches, "I do not find any enjoyment about being stuck between these tree branches. and it seems the situation has not favored any of you either." Once everyone had recovered from the fall and were back on their feet, and Aggie had successfully gotten Sky and his stretcher free from the tree branches, they all tried to figure out a new way to get out of the canyon, with Trollex saying, "Don't worry, this tiny canyon won't stop us," while Val sarcastically/angrily shouted, "Does this look "tiny" to you," while her voice echoed through the canyon. Melody then said, "Ok, guys, calm down, let's just think of a way out of this. Aggie, do you think you can fly us out of here." Aggie was breathing fast from freeing Sky's stretcher, saying, "I would, but getting the stretcher out of the tree was not easily, I'm winded." Poppy then saw a long, flat wooden plank nearby and picked it up with her hair, saying, "Hey, I got it! We can use this board like a seesaw, and get out of here by flying through the air." Trollex then said, "We just need the right counterweight, but I bet this will work; great idea, Poppy"!
Melody found a rock that was big enough to lay the board on as Poppy placed the board onto the rock, and Aggie and Trollex pulled Sky Toronto and the stretcher onto the end that was down, positioning it so it could get lifted. Once Sky was all set, Aggie shouted, "He's ready, let's send him up"! Val stood on top of a taller, much larger rock, saying, "Stand back, everyone; watch a real pro in action! Rock and roll forever," and jumped down, set to push down on the other side of the plank that was facing up. However, instead of pushing the stretcher up, it not only didn't budge, but Val ended up getting bounced into a rock wall, crashing face-first, as she muttered in a muffled voice, "That was just a practice run," and slid down to the floor, groaning in pain. al ended up getting bruises on her right cheek, but she still seemed ok, as she, Aggie, and Melody prepared to jump together, but once again, the plank didn't budge. This time, it broke on their end and the wooden piece slammed into their faces, with Melody adding, "That really hurt too." Melody ended up getting a black eye on her left eye, and a bruise on her left cheek and Aggie merely had small bruises on her left cheek and nose, while Val's bruises got darker, and her left eye was closed to numb out the throbbing pain. On the third try, Poppy joined them, saying, "Ok, all together." Everyone jumped together and this time, they were able to send the stretcher, with Sky Toronto, flying into the air, while Trollex watched from the ground. When he saw that the stretcher wasn't sent high enough and started to fall back to the ground, he ran over and made his hair into a platform, ready to catch Sky Toronto, while shouting, "I got you"! However, the stretcher came down too fast and ended up squishing Trollex underneath, with Trollex saying in a muffled voice, "Well, let's try that again." Each time that the four kept jumping onto the seesaw, they kept getting Sky in his stretcher high, but not high enough to make it onto the cliff. On the fourth try, Trollex was accidentally launched and crashed into the cliff before he fell back down, luckily caught by Aggie, who gave him a kiss on the cheek to make him feel better, as the Techno king blushed. On the fifth try, Val and Poppy accidentally held onto the stretcher and screamed as they were launched into the air before they came back down. On the sixth try, Sky Toronto almost made it, with his head reaching just above the cliff, but it still wasn't enough, as he fell back down, while everyone else ran around, getting ready to catch Sky and his stretcher, shouting together in a jumbled mess, "I've got you! No, I've got you! I've got you! no, I do"! Then, everyone on the ground collided with each other and fell before they all were squished underneath Sky Toronto's stretcher, with Popp commenting in a muffled voice, "Remind me whose idea was this"?
By the time everyone was able to get out from underneath, they were covered in bruises and black eyes, groaning in pain, and just about ready to give up. Then, Trollex found a large boulder and got an idea, saying, "guys, give me a hand with this." Poppy tied the boulder with rope as Aggie swung it over a hanger before everyone started to work together and pull the boulder up high, as sky Toronto commented, "I do not think that this seesaw trick is working." Then, Trolle shouted, "Ok, let go on three. 1! 2! 3"! Everyone let go of the rope, sending the boulder flying down as it landed on the seesaw so hard, it sent Sky Toronto, in his stretcher, flying up high. To everyone, seeing Sky make it past the inside of the cliffs caused them to cheer in success, thinking the plan had finally worked...until they saw Sky going higher...and higher into the sky, making Trollex ask, "Uh, maybe that was too much"? Up in the air, Sky Toronto held on tightly to his stretcher rope, praying he didn't fall as he kept going higher and higher and then finally...it stopped and...where he landed...it made him see something...wonderous. From where he was right now, he could see white puffy clouds and the sun shining just behind the clouds with a gentle light just bright enough to give a whimsical feeling. And it was very...quiet. so nice and peaceful, you could hear nothing but a gentle breeze beyond a square mile. To Sky, seeing this sight, it just...stirred something in him and...he ended up being so mesmerized by it, he smiled, and it wasn't just an average smile, it was a great, big, happy smile. Behind him, though Sky Toronto did not notice, Aggie flew up into the sky, flapping her wings, while Melody launched herself up on the seesaw, so both girls could come see if Sky was ok, and in the instant, Melody and Aggie both saw that Sky was smiling, and it was a real, genuine smile, making both girls smile happily that it finally happened, while Aggie said, in her mind since she didn't want Toronto to overhear her by mistake My vision came true! Yes! Then, all three of them started to fall again, as Aggie quickly flew to the stretcher, sitting next to Sky, while Melody fell and sat next to him on the other side, while all three of them held onto the rope as they fell. The stretcher soon landed in a tree on top of the canyon, and they rode it down as if it was a rollercoaster cart, sliding down the tree before they finally made it to the ground.
When all three of them saw that they were on the ground safe and sound, they sighed in relief, glad to be safe, and were met with the chorus of three Trolls screaming while being flung up into the air and landing beside them. Poppy ended up crashing into the tree, Trollex landed face-first on the ground, and Val dove head-first into the grass nearby, getting dirt in her mouth by mistake, as she spat it out, saying, "Yuck! That tastes worse than as burnt marshmallow." Poppy slid down from the tree and laid on the ground, saying, "Me? I'm starting to grow weary of camping." Meanwhile, Sky Toronto's face returned to its monotone expression, as Melody said, "I saw you, you smiled, Toronto," while Aggie said happily, "The power of smiling has struck again"! Sky Toronto started to say, "Incorrect, for I still am not one who smiles," but then, Melody then said, "We know that you do." When Sky saw Aggie and Melody smiling at him, he couldn't help but let out a small grin before returning to his stoic facial expression, as Trollex smiled and said to Val, "So, Val, who won the bet," as Val crossed her arms and scowled, not happy that she lost. Soon, everyone had gotten a hold on the stretcher and were ready to carry it back, with Aggie and Melody saying in unison, "Ready to go back," while Poppy said, "Great, now let's hurry," while Trollex mentioned, "I agree; I'm exhausted." Everyone started to walk together, carrying the stretcher, as they headed back to Trollstopia. While they walked, Melody couldn't help but poke at a little fun, as she said, "Aggie and I saw you smiling, Sky Toronto; there's no need to lie to us." Sky Toronto simply stated, "Why would I lie about something that did not happen," as Melody replied, "I'm sure we saw you smiling; we're going to tell everyone when we get back"! Sky Toronto still remained stoic, but when he saw that no one seemed to be paying attention, he couldn't help but crack a little secret grin because, even he had to admit it, smiling wasn't half-bad at all. If everyone else loved to do it, there didn't seem to be any harm in him doing it too.
