Laguna Tidepool and the Lost Game Room
You know the drill! So, let's get right to it! I do not own Trolls or Trollstopia since they both belong to Dreamwork Animations, respectively. I also do not own the songs and lyrics that I use today for this chapter, which I will attempt another hopefully successful extension, so I hope you enjoy that. Melody Song, Mal Shredder, Buckaroo, and McJagger, as well as a brand new O.C. entering the fray, are my O.C.s and belong to me, while Aggie belongs to I.M. Rally.
Poppy: You can do it solo!
Branch: But then you'd be all by yourself.
Aggie and Synth: (Synth: Yo!) So, it'd be more fun to share this one with someone else! (Tiny Diamond: Hit it, daddy!)
Rhythm and Blues: Together, we will soar across the sky and beyond!
Holly Darling: So, tune-up your voice!
Val Thundershock and Melody Song: Stand up and sing along!
All: All different voices (Tiny Diamond: Everbody now!), our melodies ringing. We're living in harmony! Yeah, we're living in harmony! Our song is much stronger will every troll singing. We're living in harmony!
Laguna Tidepool and the Lost Game Room
Inside the scrapbook library, Poppy was giving Holly, Rhythm and Blues, Aggie, and Melody a tour, as she proudly stated, "Ok, quick example, just to make sure no one's still confused: here in Pop Tribe library, the section on "critters" is on the left, while the section of "critter claws" is on the right." Everyone seemed to understand as Aggie commented, "It's been a while since I've been here. Poppy, how do you keep everything so organized"? Poppy answered, "Well, Aggie, we organize our scrapbook hugabetically. If you have any more questions, don't hesitate to ask. I know this library like that back of my hair." However, that was about to change in an instant. Behind Poppy, Laguna pulled on what looked like a lever, which revealed a secret bookcase. Everyone watched in shock as Laguna picked out a book and went to sit and read it. Melody asked in curiosity, "So, I'm guessing this is the first time you're seeing this, Poppy"? Poppy was too stunned to speak as she asked while everyone started to walk towards Laguna, "Mystery bookshelf?! Laguna, what is all this"?! The intelligent Techno responded while collecting more books, "Oh this? An ancient bookcase containing the secret to the greatest an"troll"pological discovering of all time." Everyone was still confused as Aggie then asked, "But how did you find it when Poppy didn't even know about it"?
Laguna replied, "I see that you're all confused. Upon arrival in Trollstopia, my research led me to discover these secret scrapbooks, which details the whereabouts of a hidden chamber of recreation." The group started to piece together what she was talking about as Poppy said, "You don't mean," as everyone cried out in unison, "The Lost Game Room"? Holly, in awe, stated, "But ay done thought it was an awful old campfire story, y'all. Hot dang"! as Melody added, "It always sounded like a myth to me. You say that this room actually exists"? Laguna nodded, replying, "Yes, this is said to exist, but time is of the essence. Because the game room only opens its doors for one day once every 100 years." Rhythm stated, "Only one day," as Blues added, " Shoot. Ancient Game Room always starting some drama,"! Melody pointed out, "Wow. That's a long time to wait to play a game in that place." Laguna then continued with, "It gets even more dramatic than that. My research has led me to say that that day...is today." Rhythm and Blues lost it as Blues cried out, "I can't take any more of this drama"! Aggie, thinking about this, stated, "If it opens only for one day, and that day is today, then we have to find it"! Laguna stood up while saying, "Indeed. I have no choice but to summon my courage, seize the moment...and quietly finish my research." Everyone's jaw dropped in shock as they shouted, "Complete your research"?!
Poppy tried to reason with her, saying, "Laguna, I know you're the kind of troll that likes to be prepared, but you said that this room only opens up for one day once every 100 years, and that day is today! Shouldn't you take this chance to find the room today"? Laguna replied, "But thorough research is my only key to success. Why do you think it took three years to choose the right hat," as she pointed to the top of her head. Everyone looked at her dumbfoundedly as Aggie whispered, "What hat," which led everyone to shrug in confusion. Melody then spoke up, saying, "Research is fine. Still, if you want to find that room, you need to have a sense of adventure! Like my hero, Twilight Tidepool," as she pulled out a book of ancient troll heroes, flipping to the page that had a picture of the mentioned hero, while at the sound of that name, Laguna gasped and dropped her book onto the desk, coming over to look herself. As everyone looked in the book Melody had, Rhythm pointed at the picture of the troll as she asked, "Is that her"? Melody nodded, saying, "Yep! Twilight Tidepool, fabled only to be the best explorer in the entire universe! She's discovered more lost treasures and artifacts than any other troll in the world."
Aggie looked at the picture and took careful notes of the detail. Twilight Tidepool was a Techno Troll, but she looked eerily familiar to someone she knew. The light lavender skin, the dark blue hair that was up in a ponytail similar to Melody's and held by a green neon scrunchy, and the light blue pixilated heart. The explorer was wearing a brown exploration jacket, had a bag strapped around her left shoulder, and was tipping what seemed to be a matching brown fedora. Aggie then seemed to realize it as she turned to Laguna, saying, "Hey, Twilight kind of looks a little like you, Laguna. She even has the same last name as you." Melody gave Laguna the book as the Techno Troll looked at the picture solemnly, saying, "Of course we have the same last name. She was my mother." Everyone's jaw dropped for a second time as everyone screamed, "Twilight Tidepool was your mother"?! Laguna sadly nodded as she said, "She was the reason why I wanted to become study an"troll"pology in the first place. I was hoping once I was old enough that I would get to go on adventures with her...until the day she went on an exploration and never came back." Laguna started to develop tears as Melody placed a comforting hand around her, allowing the Techno Troll to cry into her shoulder silently. Her friends started to feel bad as Aggie came towards her, saying, "I know it must be hard for you to have gone through that. No troll should ever have to go through losing a parent. But...maybe finding the game room could be a way of honoring your mom's spirit." Laguna seemed to stop crying as she rid the tears from her eyes while asking, "You think so"? Everyone nodded as Rhythm said, "Yeah. Trying to find the lost game room could be your way of living in her finsteps, seeing what it was like to be her." Holly then added, "Yeah! make y'all's mom proud by a-showin' huurr thay troll ya've grown up ta be so far." Hearing those words of encouragement, Laguna smiled before saying, "You're right. I've been emotionally persuaded. Let's go,"! Everyone cheered and started to rush out, though Laguna soon sat back down, wanting to read a few more pages, much to everyone's dismay. This led them to bring her, the books, and the table with them, as Melody commented, "Dang! These books weigh more than the rock bus does"!
Soon, everyone was riding a submarine in the lagoon in search of the lost game room. As Laguna drove the sub around, they soon came across what looked like an old entrance as they went in, soon reaching the surface inside and climbing out. Once on land, everyone focused their energy and made their hair/skin glow to shed some light in the dark. Then, Laguna pulled out her book and flipped through it, finding the page that would lead the way to the game room. As the group entered, they came across a huge chasm with many sharp rocks at the bottom. Seeing then, Rhythm winced in fright as Melody commented, "Yeesh. And I thought the spikes on Demo's head were sharp. That takes the cake." Poppy then noticed that across the chasm were five rows of what appeared to be hopscotch boards. When Poppy asked Laguna about the hopscotch boards, she explained, 'The trolls that first designed the game room left these hopscotch bridges. One of them will allow us to cross safely, while the other four are traps. We must be careful so that we don't pick the wrong one by accident. I do have a theory on which bridge to take, but I need to consider a few new variables." Everyone groaned as Aggie said, "Laguna, can't we try to guess which bridge is safe? Here, watch me." Aggie placed her foot on a tile from row four, but it shattered, and she would have fallen if not for Poppy and Holly catching her in time. As they helped her up, Aggie dusted herself off while saying hesitantly, "Ok. No more guesses." Melody was looking at the tiles before saying, "It's settled. We're taking row 2."
Everyone, except Laguna, looked at her as Rhythm asked, "Are you sure, Melody"? Melody replied, "Nope, but I have a hunch." Suddenly, a loud rumbling could be heard behind Laguna as a huge wall was starting to move in. Everyone grew terrified as Poppy shouted at Laguna, "Come on, we need to go now"! But despite her friends' protests, Laguna did not seem to be listening. Melody facepalmed as she shouted, "For the love of troll," as she used her hair to toss the book away, grabbed Laguna by the hand, and led the group across row 2, which turned out to be the safe row. Once they were across, Laguna pulled out another book while her friends caught their breath, stating, "These new variables have emphasized m theory...that we should take row 2." Everyone groaned in frustration as Holly angrily exclaimed, "Now ya tell us?! Y'all need to get ya info in order! Where was ya when we were close ta a-dyin'"?! Laguna replied in slight fear, "I was only trying to make sure that the variables aligned with my theory." Melody tried to make things easier by calmly saying, "Holly, chill. We're ok, and that's what matters. Laguna, I know you like to use research to back up your theories, but sometimes, you need to go with what your gut is telling you, no matter how right or wrong you may be." Laguna considered this as she says, "I understand...well! Onto the next trap," as he began to walk while reading another book, leaving her friends to cry out her name in frustration.

After what seemed like an endless path of booby traps and trying to protect Laguna from getting caught in them, they had finally reached the entrance to the game room. Laguna pushed what looked like a play button as torches were turned on as the group walked into the fabled game room. Inside was a massive but really fun-looking board game. It looked like an amazing sight for sore eyes. While Laguna, Rhythm, and Blues gathered some research, Poppy and Holly began to play the board game and were having a blast. Melody and Aggie were about to join them when Aggie noticed a box by the corner. Aggie noticed it as she asked, "Should we open it"? Rhythm then came over with Blues, asking, "You girls find anything"? Melody answered, saying, "We found this box here. We're going to open it and see what's in there." Aggie grabbed on one end as Melody took the other while they slowly got the lid open. However, just before it could open all the way, something kicked the lid open, making them step back and scream in fear. A slightly malnourished, tall, extremely long-haired, familiar Techno troll sat up. It stretched, saying in an Australian accent (Just as a reference, Twilight will be voiced by Bindi Irwin), "Crikey! I haven't felt this cramped since that wild Cuddlepup chased me into one of them small pipes down at Windpipe Gorge"! They remained silent as the new troll looked at them, smiling while saying, "So, you're the fine ladies who saved me from going down under! Thanks a million! Want some polkabull jerky"? Melody was the first to speak as she stuttered, "I-It can't...I-I must be," as Aggie took over, saying in disbelief, "You're Twilight Tidepool"! The now identified troll stood up, saying, "As sure as the hat on my head, you're a quick, whippersnapper little lady! A pleasure to meet ya"!
Suddenly, Laguna came over towards them, hearing their voices, while asking, "Did you find something for me to-." But once she saw what they found, she froze and dropped her book in disbelief. Twilight was surprised too as she asked softly, "Laguna...is that you"? Laguna couldn't speak or even breathe. In front of her...was her long-lost mother...the troll she thought was gone for good. Laguna had tears developing again as she cried out and shouted, "Mama," as she ran and hugged Twilight Tidepool tightly, her mother doing the same thing. She allowed Laguna to sob into her chest as she let out muffled cries such as, 'I can't believe it's you," and, "I thought you were dead," and even, "I can't believe after all this time, you're here and still alive"! Twilight allowed Laguna to nestle into her arms as she carefully stroked Laguna's dark blue hair, saying, "It's ok, baby. I'm here now. Safe and sound." Melody, Aggie, Rhythm, and Blues were close to crying and were also developing huge tears around their eyes as Rhythm commented, "This is too beautiful," as Blues added, "I can't take all this emotional drama"! Melody allowed her tears to fall, saying, "Nothing's more emotional than seeing a child reunite with their parent," as Aggie added while teary-eyed, "So beautiful and touching."
Aggie called for Poppy and Holly to come over and meet Laguna's mom but surprisingly got a brush-off in response. When she turned them around, Poppy and Holly seemed to be hypnotized as they monotonously replied, "Let us play." This got everyone's attention as Aggie asked, "Ok, what's going on with that"? Twilight tipped her fedora, saying, "They've fallen under the spell of the game room. The reason our ancestors built these here traps was to keep any oblivious trolls from the game. Once you start playing it, you can't stop." Melody then said, "Well, on the plus side, things can't get any worse, right"? Suddenly, the temple seemed to shake as Melody facepalmed, commenting, "Me and my big mouth." Laguna shouted, "The temple's sinking! If we don't get out of here, we'll be trapped here for the next 100 years"! Twilight held her bag while saying, "Dang dingos! I don't think we have enough jerky to keep us all fed for 100 years"! Aggie then mentioned, "We need to go, but what about Poppy and Holly? We can't leave them here"! Laguna looked around for her book, trying to see if she can find it so she can look for an answer. But just as she found it, a rock fell on top of it, destroying it in the process. Laguna didn't know what to do, but then, Laguna remembered what Melody told her earlier once she saw how frantic her friends looked. The same words played in her head: Sometimes, you need to go with what your gut is telling you, no matter how right or wrong you may be.
Laguna knew what she had to do as she noticed Holly about to roll some dice and got an idea. As Holly threw the dice in one bounce, Laguna caught them and kept them in her hands. Poppy, still in a trance, said, "Hey, give those back," as Holly shouted, "Mama needs to know if she got a seven"! Laguna simply stated, "Note: this is for your own good," as she began to lead everyone out of the game room and out of the cave, with Poppy and Holly chasing after them. At a cave intersection, Aggie asked, "Which way do we go now"? Laguna looked at both exits and pointed to the left, saying, "We're going this way"! When Melody asked, "Are you sure about this," Laguna confidently replied, "Absolutely not, but we're going anyways! Also, I chose a hat," as she placed a mud brown fedora on her head, similar to her mom's. Twilight smiled and shouted, "That's my little Laguna! Now, let's get out before we're all buried down under"! Everyone ran back into the submarine and escaped just before the temple sank back into the ground.
Back on the surface, everyone exited the submarine as Poppy and Holly started to return to normal. While holding her head and stomach, the pop queen asking, "What's going on," as Holly added, "Suddenly, I don't care so much if Mama rolled a seven." Suddenly, they both noticed that they had a familiar, extra guest with them as Poppy asked in excitement, "Is that who I think it is"?! Laguna nodded and hugged her mom, saying, "Poppy, Holly, meet the one and only Twilight Tidepool, famous explorer, and my mother." Twilight smiled and tipped her hat, saying, "G'day mates! A pleasure to meet dear friends of my daughter Laguna." She then knelt to Laguna's level, saying, "Youngin', I'm so proud of you. You not only helped uncover an ancient troll mystery, but you saved your friends, and you saved me. As sure as I'm standing here, alive and flicking, I am happy to call my little kelp an"troll"pologist my daughter." Laguna had a huge smile as her mother pulled her into a caring hug, the two happy in each other's embrace. Everyone awed at the sight as Melody tried to prevent more tears from falling, saying, "I promised myself I'd only cry once a day...but...this moment is just...too precious," as she covered her eyes with her arms to mask the happy tears from flowing. Aggie then asked, "There's still one question. Twilight, how did you end up in the game room in the first place"? Twilight answered with, "It's a real ripper of a tale! You see, I got caught in this gnarly whirlpool, and I end up getting dragged through this underwater hole, which led me in front of the hopscotch chasm of the game room temple. So, I crossed it, went through the other traps, and found the game room, but I could feel myself getting tempted with the fun game, so I did the most rational thing an explorer could do and placed myself in a box. I've been living on polkabull jerky for three months straight until you lassies came and saved me."
Laguna then asked, "But...mom...I haven't seen you in over a year. Where did you disappear to"? Twilight looked at her daughter before slightly tousling the young Techno Troll's head, the hat sliding off, while saying, "That's another story for another time. But for now, I'm happy to be reunited with my favorite daughter in the universe." Poppy then asked, "So, Twilight, now that you've been freed and you're with troll society again, are you going to be going on more adventures"? Twilight removed her hat as she said, "I'd love to, but I think this troll has been far away from her family long enough. I want to stay and reconnect with my daughter." Laguna smiled before sadly mentioned, "But...you never paid a lot of attention to me before. It really hurt my feelings growing up." Twilight felt bad as she placed a comforting hand on Laguna's shoulder, saying, "I tried to, but my work kept me busy. But it doesn't mean that I never cared about you. Every night I was away, I could never stop feeling bad about ignoring you. And your father...well...you know how tended to be. But... there are no excuses for my actions. I intend to fix that. I'm going to retire from adventuring for a while so that I can spend time with you, my little Laguna. Is that alright with you"? Laguna smiled and nodded slowly, saying, "Note: I'd like that very much." Twilight then placed her hat back on before picking up Laguna's hat while saying, "And from this experience, I know one day...you'll do great carrying on the family legacy," as she tenderly placed it onto her daughter's head again. Everyone felt their hearts melt in affection as Laguna felt deeply touched, happy that a part of her was able to slowly recover and gain closure with the return of her mother. Laguna then said, "You can stay with me at Techno Lagoon. I can introduce you to Synth, and then I can show you all the research I've collected over my time in Trollstopia." As they started to walk back to Trollstopia, Laguna walked hand in hand with her mother as the two Techno trolls smiled at one another, happy that their bond has returned and will continue to grow stronger.
