~The Perfect Christmas~

It Twas a day before Christmas eve, and everyone was together in harmony thanks to everyone for their bravery. Of course there was the annual gift swap that happened last week but Poppy had an idea that was super neat, a perfect celebration where all the tribes would come around and throw an amazing party celebrating differences from all over the town, but not every Christmas goes exactly as you plan, so let me tell you this Christmas story the best that I can.

It started just like any other day where Queen Poppy and her family would share a musical display...

Poppy was brushing her hair, putting it up in her signature ponytail and put on a green glittery crown which now had snowflakes thanks to her amazing daughter Crystal, she looked in the mirror and smiled; today was the perfect day for party planning.

🎵 Whenever I hear a Christmas song I wanna get up and sing
When there's love I sing along and find some bells to ring 🎵 Poppy went over to Branch and hugged him.

🎶 Wherever there's angels up above 🎶 Branch smiled sweetly at her and kissed her cheek.

💜 Wherever there's Christmas trees 💜 Crystal grabbed a box of decorations for the party.

🎵🎶💜 There'll be laughter there'll be song we'll go caroling all night long 🎵🎶💜

🎵 Believing in Christmas makes it magic can't you see 🎵 Poppy also grabbed a box of decorations.

Branch helped them by opening the door and they all headed to the main square where everyone was helping set up the party, this wasn't just any party that they usually throw, Poppy wanted this the one party that would be the best party ever, without any interruptions.

"Looking good gang, this will be the most amazing party ever! I know it!" Poppy exclaimed

"Better than every party you've ever thrown?" Crystal asked.

"Exactly!" Poppy smiled.

"Poppy are you sure this isn't too much?" Branch asked setting the tables.

"Trust me, I know we can pull this off, Crystal can you help Darnell set up the tree?" Poppy looked at her daughter.

"Sure Mom" Crystal replied rushing to help Prince D who was struggling to carry the tree through from the Christmas tree dimension.

She used her ice magic to move the tree across, upright and stable. See, Crystal was born with a magical gift to control and create ice and snow, which was very handy for tasks to help others.

"Thanks Crystal" Darnell went off to continue to help.

"No problem" Crystal looked over at her friends who were carrying the ornaments in.

"Somebody order lots of ornaments?" Chris asked.

"Yep my mom said we needed a lot so I estimated how much we needed, I hope there's enough" Crystal looked at the tree.

"Of course there is, I bet we even have enough for two trees at this point" Summer said.

"This party is gonna be sick" Disco exclaimed.

"I agree, this party will be truely amazing" Alto agreed.

"Do you need help with anything else? Lavender asked.

Crystal thought for a moment there was something she was working on, she was writing a song that hopefully would be ready by the party but she wanted to keep it a surprise because she didn't know if she would finish it in time or even perform it.

"I think you could help set the tables" Crystal suggested.

"Will do" Chris smiled and they went to help set the tables up.

Crystal looked at her notebook full of songs she wrote, but she was shy about sharing any of them but she put it away and just focused on helping everyone else set the party up.

Prince D opened a decoration box and passed around the decorations to everyone.

We do believe in harmony and family and good cheer

Everything was starting to come together but they still had a lot to do, the classical trolls helped hang the ornaments on the tree.

🎹 Whenever there's hope in the air 🎹 Trollzart put the ornaments on the high part of the tree.

🎵🎶 Whenever we light the tree
Whenever there's love in our prayers
that's Christmas time for me 🎶🎵 Poppy and Branch were finishing making the invitations.

🎵 Whenever I hear a Christmas song I wanna get up and sing 🎵

🎵 Whenever there's love I sing along and find some bells to ring 🎵 Poppy started to hand out invitations to all the trolls.

Tiny Diamond looked up at the tree in amazement.

"Wow daddy, the tree is huge!" Tiny exclaimed.

"I know son, Poppy wanted the biggest Christmas tree so everyone can see it" Guy explained.

"Ooh can I help put the star on the tree?" Tiny looked at Crystal.

"Of course you can" Crystal replied putting on the last ornament on the tree.

💜I do believe in christmas💜 Crystal used her magic to lift Tiny up so he could put the star on top.

Branch was doing some calculations on his abacus to estimate how much decorating they've all done for the party.

"Ok so far we have completed" Poppy looked at Branch in excitement.

Branch finished his calculations "25 percent completed" He said.

Everyone was in shock.

"Only 25 percent?!" Barb exclaimed.

"Haven't we done everything?" Delta asked.

"Relax 25 percent is actually decent, the party is in two days" Poppy explained.

"Why did we start decorating early?" Trollex asked.

"Because we may not have been able to get it all done in time" Crystal replied.

"Plus with other parties and celebrations throughout the day it makes it difficult to plan something this big" Branch explained.

"Ohhhhhhh" Everyone said finally understanding why.

"But I'm sure everything will turn out great! As long as there's no interruptions" Poppy said proudly.

Suddenly there was a light cold breeze blowing in the air, it was subtle but almost everyone could feel it, it didn't feel like a typical light breeze though, it felt cold, freezing even, like thin pins of ice prickling their skin.

"Did y'all feel that?" Delta looked around holding her arms.

"What the heck was that?" Barb also held her arms.

"Why was the wind so cold? I thought Trollstopia only got one snow day a year" Trollzart looked at Poppy.

"We do and it's already passed" Poppy said.

"Wait, what is that?" Guy pointed to the distance.

Everyone looked in the direction and that's when they saw it, a gigantic dark grey storm cloud with fast snow and loud roaring thunder and lightning, nobody even noticed before but worry started to grow as it moved closer and closer to them.

"That can't be good" Crystal said putting on her headphones.

"We have to seek shelter, now" Branch explained urgently.

Everyone started making their way towards Branch's bunker but the storm caught up to them, the wind was blowing in almost every direction, the snow making it difficult to see and harder to navigate.

"Go Go Go!" Poppy yelled.

"Poppy we can't fly in these conditions!" Trollzart shouted as the classic trolls were struggling to fly in the strong winds.

"Everyone help the classical trolls!" Branch exclaimed.

Everyone grabbed a classical troll to help them get to safety.

Branch couldn't see much but he recognised a familiar large boulder not far in front of him, he dug through the deep snow that was slowly building up determined to find the trapped door. Poppy helped Branch dig while Crystal was trying to keep the snow from piling up by moving some of it out of the way with her magic.

"Hurry! It's freezing out here!" Barb was starting to get ice in her hair.

Finally after a few minutes of digging Branch found the trap door but it was frozen shut, the freezing snow had made it so cold it wouldn't open.

Poppy and Branch tugged on the trapdoor with their hair and pulled with all their might until it finally opened.

"Everyone inside!" Branch hopped into the bunker as Poppy led all the trolls inside while Crystal kept pushing the snow back.

There were a lot of trolls to get inside the bunker since all the tribes in trollstopia were present so it felt like hours went by but once the final troll went inside, Poppy and Crystal went inside and shut the door, they made it down and Branch setting up the mushroom heating making the bunker feel warm, everyone was worried still after running for their lives, Poppy could immediately tell.

"Don't worry everyone, I'm sure the storm will pass soon we just need to wait it out" Poppy explained.

"Where did the storm even come from?" Delta asked

"I may know the answer" Peppy replied.

"Grandpa what are you talking about?" Crystal asked.

Peppy grabbed a scrapbook from his hair and opened it up, "You see, every 50 years a strong snowstorm forms and passes through pop village, it usually lasts one night or two but it takes days to clear up and melt away" Peppy explained.

"So does that mean we won't be able to leave Branch's bunker for a few days?" Barb asked.

"That is correct" Peppy sighed.

"There's got to be a way" Poppy said.

"Can't Crystal clear it?" Guy asked.

"I don't think I'd be able to, I can only clear snow I have made and it would take too much energy to move the snow" Crystal explained hugging her snuggle toy.

"Plus if we try to open the door we could get snowed in and who knows how much snow will build up there" Branch added.

"What about the party?" One troll asked.

"Is Christmas ruined daddy?" Tiny looked up at his father.

"I don't know, what do we do now Poppy?" Guy asked and looked at Poppy.

All the trolls were looking at Poppy for answers but she didn't even know herself, was Christmas ruined? How would they throw the party now? All these questions ran through her head like a train and she didn't know how to respond. Branch put his hand on her back to offer some comfort which helped her focus for a second.

"I don't know... Just give me a few minutes to think everyone" Poppy said and went to a spare room to think.

Branch followed her and everyone just talked amongst themselves as they waited, feeling bad for Poppy.

Poppy sat down hugging her knees, all of her plans for the party had been ruined, what could they do now? Everything they had for the party was above ground so there wasn't any way of grabbing party supplies, Branch sat down next to her.

"Are you ok?" He asked.

"Ugh, everyone is worried there's not going to be a Christmas, all of the party supplies are caught in the storm and I don't know what to do" Poppy covered her face.

Branch thought for a moment, she did have a point about the party supplies from earlier being unavailable but that didn't exactly mean that Christmas was cancelled.

"Well just because we've had to relocate to my bunker doesn't mean we have to cancel celebrations entirely" Branch said.

"We won't?" Poppy looked at him.

"When has a problem ever stopped you from pulling off your crazy yet amazing plans? I believe we can figure it out" Branch held Poppy's hands.

Poppy smiled at Branch feeling hopeful again, "You're right! We can just throw a new party here and I remember leaving some spare decorations here I think and with your amazing engineer skills, I think we can pull it off" Poppy explained.

"There's the Poppy I know" Branch smiled.

"You're the best! Let's go share the news with everyone!" Poppy gave him a quick kiss on the cheek and grabbed his hand racing back to everyone.

"Ok good news everyone we have a plan b! We can just throw the party here!" Poppy exclaimed.

Everyone looked at her confused, "But isn't this a smaller space?" Barb asked.

"Yeah and Branch are you sure you don't mind everyone partying in your bunker? We know you like your peace and quiet down here" Delta said.

"I'm fine with it, I just want to help out any way I can" Branch said.

"Alright then-" Guy said but got interrupted.

"Just nobody touch Gary, my chocolate collection, my sweat jars, my rations without my permission or my puzzles" Branch glared at everyone.

They all looked at him nervously but nodded and understood.

"Anyway we have enough backup decorations in here but if we work together we can still make this the best Christmas ever! What do you say team?" Poppy asked.

The trolls looked at each other in excitement and agreed, "I say we get this awesome party set up!" Barb exclaimed.

Everyone started to help set up for the party while Crystal remained seated humming the song she was writing in her songbook. Poppy noticed and sat next to her, "That's a nice song sweetie, did you just come up with it?" Poppy asked.

"Yeah it's still a work in progress but I was hoping to perform it sometime with my friends" Crystal said.

"Hey there's an idea why don't you perform with your friends at the party?" Poppy suggested.

"What? I- I can't do that we haven't had a proper gig yet and I'm still trying to conquer my stage fright" Crystal looked down.

"There's no pressure for you to perform, I just think it's a nice idea" Poppy smiled.

"I'll think about it" Crystal closed her songbook.

"Do you want to help set up for the party?" Poppy asked.

"Can I help a bit later? I need some time to myself" Crystal said.

"Of course, me or your dad will check up on you later" Poppy started to grab some decorations.

"Thanks mom" Crystal said going to a more quiet spot in the bunker.

Meanwhile Branch was hammering away as he was building something, Poppy looked over at him and saw him. He was wearing his thin glasses as he was writing down calculations for the build. Poppy couldn't help but smile as she could tell he was happy. Curious about what he was working on, she sat next to him.

"What are you trying to make?" Poppy asked.

"I thought it'd be a good idea to set a stage up for anyone who wants to perform. I was originally planning on building one for the big party outside, but you know how that turned out" Branch replied, giving himself a moment to rest.

"Good idea! we can have the tribes perform on the stage, I love that smart brain of yours" Poppy kissed him on the cheek.

Branch slightly blushed at the compliment, "So what else needs to be done?" He asked.

"Well we need to set the tables, hang more lights up and after you finish the stage we can get the instruments set up" Poppy smiled.

"Don't we have enough decorations already? It almost looks like there are too many decorations" Branch looked at how much his bunker already looked like a decoration tornado hit it.

"Relax, there's no such thing as too much decoration. Plus as soon as the party is over and the snow clears we can leave the bunker and it'll be back to its old musty plain and basic self" Poppy grabbed another box of decorations.

"If you say so" Branch continued to look at the decorations, getting worried about how much the decorations covered his bunker.

"Ooh I already know what the next activity to set up is, I'm going to get everyone to make their own Christmas stockings" Poppy said excitedly.

"But I'm not finished building the stage yet" Branch explained.

"Don't worry, you continue to work on that and I'll get everything set up, could you also check on Crystal as well to see if she wants to make a stocking as well?" Poppy asked.

"Alright, just let me finish building, I'm almost done" Branch said.

Poppy giggled, "Alright I won't stop you from your amazing work, I'll talk to you later" she gave him a tight hug before going to gather the materials.

Branch continued to work on the stage putting the finishing touches, " I wonder how many coats of paint it'll need" He looked at the stage thinking of what colour to paint the stage.

Meanwhile, Crystal was at her keyboard staring at her songbook, she was determined to write the song the only thing stopping her was her writer's block but she wasn't planning on giving up.

"Alright writer's block, you think you can stop me? I have my mother's determination so that means I don't give up so easily" Crystal said to her obviously not alive songbook.

Crystal hummed the start of the song matching the notes on her keyboard to her voice, she focused on each note, hoping the rhythm would flow through her but nothing came out not a single lyric, she sighed as she tried to relax her nerves building up, she wanted to finish this song by the time the party would start but she didn't even how she would get the confidence to perform it, suddenly there was a knock on her door.

"Hey Crystal" Her father greeted.

"Hey dad, what's up?" Crystal asked.

"Just checking in to see how you're doing" Branch said.

"I'm alright now, I'm just trying to get through writer's block" Crystal explained.

"I've been there before when writing poems, not fun" Branch remembered all the times he struggled with writer's block.

Crystal just looked at her songbook, she hoped that it wouldn't be so difficult to write a song, Branch noticed her frustration.

"What have you written so far?" He asked.

"Well I have the first verse kinda figured out" Crystal demonstrated on the piano.

"No lyrics yet but I'm sure I'll write something eventually" She sighed.

Branch thought for a second, "Maybe you could write about the holidays, whenever I get a little stuck on writing I like to focus on the present and what is happening in that moment, I'm sure you'll figure it out".

"Thanks dad" Crystal said.

"No problem. Oh! Your mom was wondering if you wanted to make a Christmas stocking, if you need more time I can bring the materials in here" Branch suggested.

"It's alright, I need a break from writing anyways" Crystal stood up and put her headphones back on.

Branch went with Crystal to where everyone was making stockings and grabbed the materials she wanted. She spotted her friends over in the corner and went over to them.

"Hey guys" Crystal sat down next to Chris.

"Hey Crystal, we need your help" Lavender said.

"With?" Crystal asked.

Lavender held up black thread and Summer held up grey thread.

"Which thread should I pick?" Lavender asked.

"Um... Black?" Crystal replied.

"I knew it" Lavender smiled.

"Yeah yeah you win this time" Summer chuckled.

"What colour fabric did you pick?" Chris looked at Crystal.

"I was thinking of pink but I went with a light blue instead" Crystal said, holding her fabric.

"Nice, I went with green" Chris held up his fabric.

"How bad do you think the snowstorm is at the moment?" Crystal started working on her stocking.

"I did do a bit of research about the storm, it usually lasts 24 hours and can cause a build up of almost 50 feet of snow that'll clear up over time" Chris explained.

"Luckily it only happens every 50 years. But still, we won't be able to leave for a few days" Crystal said.

Chris saw the worried look on her face and decided to find a way to cheer her up.

"That's too bad, I miss the library" Chris lightly joked.

Crystal playfully rolled her eyes, "I think you can handle a few days without your books".

"Aww but my poor books who's going to dust them and organize the scrapbooks that aren't on the shelf? I simply can't bear being away from the knowledge" Chris said dramatically.

Crystal couldn't help but laugh and the others joined in on the laughter too, it helped lighten the mood and everyone seem to forget about the storm outside.

"You know if you lose interest in being a librarian you could be an actor" Disco said.

"I'm good with my dream job, I'm already an intern at the pop village library so it won't be long now before I will become a pop village librarian. Chris explained.

"Of course, you'll make an awesome librarian" Crystal smiled.

Poppy saw Crystal was having fun with her friends and continued to decorate around the bunker, trying to put as many decorations as she could around the bunker.

"Poppy we're done with our stockings" Barb said holding up her stocking.

"Where do we put it?" Carol asked.

"Luckily I have a spot saved for everyone's stockings" Poppy gestured to the big empty space for all the stockings.

"Thanks Poppy" Carol said and went to hang her stocking.

"Wow I didn't realise there were so many decorations in here, I'd say almost everything is set up by now" Barb said.

"Hmm, I don't know I think something is missing" Poppy looked around trying to find what she could do.

"Poppy everyone is getting tired of decorating we've been at it for hours and it's getting late" Barb complained feeling exhausted.

"Don't worry it just needs a final few touches, but we can pick this up in the morning" Poppy said.

"Ok then if you say so" Barb went to hang her stocking.

After a little while, everyone went to bed and went to sleep, the next day they started to pick up again, it was now Christmas Eve and everyone was getting excited, R and B got a new tree from the Christmas tree dimension.

"Is this replacement tree good?" R asked.

"Yeah it's the perfect size for the bunker, I wish it was bigger but I don't think Branch wants a huge tree in his bunker" Poppy giggled.

"Where should we put it?" B looked around for a spot to place the tree.

"Ooo how about that corner near the fireplace?" R spotted.

They moved the tree to the spot. "Thanks girls, now I got to find some ornaments and decorations for the tree" Poppy left to look for decorations.

Poppy tried looking for the ornaments but was struggling to find any.

"Looking for something in particular?" Branch asked.

"Oh uh yeah, I don't suppose we have any ornaments and decorations here?" She smiled.

"We do, I have an emergency box from last year's Christmas tree"

Poppy sighed in relief. "That's good, where are they?"

"Two rooms to the right, it's in a box that says Christmas ornaments" Branch said.

"Thanks Branchie" Poppy went to grab the ornaments and decorations.

Crystal was busy fidgeting with her clicker pen and tried to sing some of the lyrics that she wrote down.

"Well I've been waiting all year, just for this day to get here, and I've been thinking about how to decorate the tree- no no no! That's not right" Crystal scribbled some of the lyrics out.

"You might have seen me checking out what's underneath that tree but.. but.. Ugh!" Crystal covered her face in frustration.

"That sounded nice" Chris said.

"Oh! Chris, um how much did you hear?" She asked.

"Only just what you sang then" Chris replied.

Chris looked at her songbook. "Is this a new song you're working on?" Chris asked.

"It was supposed to be a surprise for everyone but I don't know if I'll be able to finish it or perform it" Crystal sighed.

"I believe you can do it, if it helps I can get me and the group to perform with you" Chris suggested.

"That.. actually helps a lot, do you think our friends will be up for it? " Crystal asked.

"You're an amazing songwriter, and they're our friends so of course they will" Chris assured her.

"Thanks Chris" Crystal smiled.

"You're welcome, do you need any help with the song?" Chris asked.

"No thanks, this is something I want to do on my own" Crystal replied.

Chris nodded and left to go help get some of the food ready.

I'm so excited for the party daddy!" Tiny exclaimed.

"Me too son, now which glitter ornament looks better?" Guy held up two glitter ornaments. One silver, one gold.

"Why not both?" Tiny pointed to both of them.

"You have a good point" Guy hung both of the ornaments up.

Branch finished putting on the last coat of paint on the stage. "Phew, now I just gotta let this dry and then the stage will be ready".

"I think something is missing" Poppy looked at the stage.

"What?" Branch looked at her confused.

Poppy thought for a moment "I know! Glitter!"

"Poppy you know I'm not the biggest fan of glitter" Branch sighed.

"I know but it would really liven up the stage and it would look amazing" Poppy insisted.

Branch looked back at the stage. "But-"

"Pleeeeease?" Poppy looked at him with her sad cute eyes.

"Ughhh fine" Branch went to grab some glitter.

"Thank you!" She gave him a tight hug.

"T-too tight!" Branch struggled to breathe in her tight embrace.

Poppy giggled and let go and Branch sighed and grabbed some glitter and started to coat the stage with it.

Poppy went to check on how the food preparations were going, the kitchen was quite messy but food was getting made and the smell of cupcakes spread through the air giving off a warm sweet scent.

"Mmm those cupcakes smell amazing" Poppy said.

"And we got lots of other fun treats too like rainbow jelly, ice cream and my personal fave, mince pies" Holly explained.

"The rainbow jelly isn't finished yet we still need to add green, blue and purple which will need 4 hours each" Delta said.

"Ooh what about if you add ice to it to make it set faster?" Poppy suggested.

Holly checked the freezer. "We don't have any set yet"

Crystal overheard the conversation and made ice cubes for them, "Is that enough?".

"That's plenty Crystal, thank you" Delta smiled.

"You're welcome" Crystal went back to continue writing.

"Now the jelly will set much faster" Holly said, putting the jelly back into the fridge.

"Great! Keep up the awesome work team!" Poppy exclaimed.

Both Holly and Delta took a deep breath, they honestly could use a break but there was so much work to do that they didn't have time.

Poppy looked at the time, it was already starting to get close to the evening, she went near the elevator and went near the trapdoor to check on the weather. It sounded muffled but the storm was still passing through, there was no way they could leave anytime soon, but that wasn't important right now, her mind needed to stay focused on decorating. Barb tiredly walked over to her, ignoring how busy she looked. "Popsqueak can we please take a break?".

Poppy looked around and saw how exhausted everyone looked, she sighed. "Alright, I guess we can take a small break but we still have a lot to do".

"Poppy, isn't this a bit much? I mean I'm all for cool decorations and stuff but there's already a lot of decorations and most of the food is ready for tomorrow" Barb said.

"I know and we're almost done it just needs a final last minute touches" Poppy smiled.

"Didn't you say that 2 hours ago?" Barb asked.

"Yeah but that was before I forgot the gold tinsel, alright everyone break time! " Poppy announced.

Everyone immediately stopped what they were doing and were relieved to be taking a break.

"Whatever you say Popsqueak" Barb left to sit down.

An hour or so passed and unfortunately everyone was too exhausted to keep going, Poppy felt a little bad and let them all rest for the night, it wouldn't be a big deal since the party was in the early afternoon tomorrow. Everyone got themselves ready for bed and started to get ready to go to sleep, Poppy got into her favorite pyjamas and climbed into bed next to Branch. She looked up at the ceiling and was lost in thought.

"You seem lost in thought, are you alright?-" Branch was about to ask but Poppy talked over him.

"Am I overdoing it?" Poppy asked.

"What?" Branch looked at her confused.

"The party.. is it too much?" Poppy looked at Branch.

"Well I mean there's a lot of decorations, more than I've ever seen in my bunker" Branch started.

Poppy looked down sadly, were there too many decorations? Did she go overboard?

"But I know your heart is in the right place and you just want this to be the best party ever. Maybe we can just look at everything tomorrow and see if we can reduce the decorations just a little" Branch suggested.

"Sounds like a good idea Branchie" Poppy replied snuggling into his chest.

"Alright, good night Poppifer" Branch kissed her forehead closing his eyes.

"Night Branchifer" Poppy closed her eyes falling asleep.

As the two trolls fell asleep, a fire in the fireplace was going strong but unfortunately, some of the tinsel hanging above the fireplace fell the tinsel started to smoke and burn and the fire crept up to the decorations. Ornaments started to melt as the Christmas tree was caught in the flames and the smell woke some of the trolls up and they were in shock at what they saw.

"FIRE!!!! THERE'S A FIRE!!!!!" A troll shouted which caused everyone to wake up.

The trolls woke up and everyone started to panic. There was fire everywhere, Poppy and Branch ran out of their room to look and Poppy's heart shattered all of the decorations they worked so hard to make were getting destroyed and lost to the flames but the decorations weren't important right now, getting everyone to safety was.

"Everyone evacuate to the tunnels at the back!" Branch shouted.

Everyone immediately started to move away from the fire and towards the tunnels Crystal rushed to her parent's side. "What happened?!" Crystal asked.

"We don't know! Everyone started panicking because a fire started" Poppy explained.

"I'll put the fire out" Crystal said heading towards the middle.

"Be careful!" Branch exclaimed, worried for his daughter's safety.

"I will dad" She entered the centre of the fire and began to shoot her ice magic everywhere, slowly putting the fire out.

Crystal tried to put out the fire as fast as she could but she couldn't save all the decorations, almost all the decorations were melted or burnt to a crisp. Branch saw Poppy's sad expression and held her hand for comfort.

"Ok everyone it's safe now" Poppy called out to everyone.

All the trolls came back and looked at everything, there was nothing but burnt decorations and ash, they were disappointed that all their hard work was now ruined and Poppy tried to hold back a tear.

"Oh my troll, all the decorations.." Barb looked at the burnt tinsel and melted ornaments on the tree.

"We worked so hard to decorate, how did the fire start?" Delta asked.

King Quincy looked over by the fireplace and saw the tinsel on the firewood. "Looks like the tinsel fell onto the fire" He replied.

"As I said, too many decorations" Barb said.

"Hey, Poppy and I planned to reduce the decorations in the morning" Branch defended.

"And why didn't you say something to her earlier? It would've prevented the fire!" Barb argued.

"I tried to!" Branch argued back.

"Hey now it was an accident, Poppy may have gone overboard but-" Delta started but got interrupted.

"Well even if it was an accident, trolls could've gotten hurt" Prince D said.

"And now all the decorations are gone..." Trollex looked down sadly.

"Poppy why did you think this was a good idea?" Trollzart asked.

"Look I tried my best ok?! I didn't mean for this to happen!" Poppy exclaimed.

"Well it did! And now there's no decorations, no tree and no party" Barb glared at her.

"Well I'm sorry that I just wanted everyone to have a happy holiday this year!" Poppy yelled.

Crystal was watching all of the arguing from a distance, she hated that they were arguing like this, it was starting to get out of hand, at this rate they'd be arguing until Christmas morning, she needed to stop this somehow, so they could just talk it out without yelling at one another, she closed her eyes tight feeling overwhelmed by it all until she had enough.

"Everyone stop!" Crystal exclaimed

Everyone went quiet, surprised by the princess's yell.

"We don't need to worry about setting up a fancy party, we don't need loads of decorations or even a tree, we have each other and in the end, isn't it the one thing that truly matters?" Crystal asked.

Poppy and Branch looked at each other and looked down in shame, they realised that she was right. Christmas wasn't just about the fancy parties, the presents or even the tree, it was about spending time with the people you love and care about. That was the true meaning of Christmas.

"Crystal's right, We have each other and we're all here together " Branch said.

"I'm sorry about pushing this party onto everyone, I just wanted to have another chance to celebrate together, but now I realize we are, right at this very moment we are all together" Poppy smiled.

"Yeah we got the harmony stuff and all is forgiven but what do we do now?" Barb looked at Poppy.

"I'm not exactly sure" Poppy replied.

"I might have an idea, but I'm going to need some help from my friends" Crystal looked over to her friends and smiled.

"So what's the plan?" Branch asked his daughter.

"It's a surprise, just have everyone gather here around 10 am" Crystal explained.

"We're proud of you sweetie" Poppy smiled and gave her a quick hug.

Crystal hugged back and everyone made their way to the back to get some sleep away from all the burnt decorations and debris.

"So what exactly is the plan?" Disco asked.

"Yeah I know Chris said you wanted to perform something but we still don't exactly know what the plan is" Willow said.

"Ok so I know my dad lets us store our instruments in his bunker for safe keeping and I have scrapbooking supplies, I think we can set up our first Christmas gig" Crystal explained.

"We're going to perform?" Lavender smiled.

"And have the place looking all nice in time for Christmas?" Alto asked.

"Yes and I've been working super hard on this song but... it's still not ready" Crystal looked down slightly.

"I know you said you wanted to do it on your own but we're here to help you, we can help finish the song together" Chris said.

"Yeah let's turn this from a Christmas disaster to a Christmas miracle!" Summer exclaimed quietly.

Crystal looked at her friends and smiled, together they could fix and save Christmas. "Thanks guys, now let's get to work".

Crystal and her friends started to clean up the mess, luckily her father had a ton of cleaning supplies and soon they were able to clean all of it back to how it looked before all the decorating. They split their team into two. Summer, Lavender, Chris and Crystal worked on the song while Disco, Alto and Willow worked on the only thing they knew how to make from party decorating class; paper chains and snowflakes. It wasn't much but it helped the bunker go from bland and boring to nicely decorated without it being too much and they quietly moved the instrument. A few hours go by and after practicing the song it was almost 4 am, they decided to finally get a little bit of rest so nobody was sleep deprived for the performance. Crystal looked at the song she wrote with her friends and she was feeling nervous, Chris noticed this and sat down next to her.

"I can tell you're nervous, are you ok?" Chris asked.

"I'm not sure if I can perform this, I don't want to mess this up" Crystal looked down sadly.

"You won't mess it up, we're all going to just have fun and celebrate together and I'll tell you one thing, I'm nervous too" Chris admitted.

"Really?" Crystal looked at him surprised.

"Yeah, but I'm thinking about all the positives that'll happen and we'll all be together the entire time so you won't be alone." Chris said.

Crystal smiled and hugged him "Thank you".

Chris was about to speak but he noticed she fell asleep hugging him, he smiled as he fell asleep as well as they all needed to rest for tomorrow. After a few hours of rest they could get, Crystal double checked everything to make sure they were ready. The instruments were ready, the small decorations were up and they even had some of the food that was safe from the kitchen. It looked amazing and once they were ready, they all welcomed all the trolls back to the area.

"Welcome to the Christmas party!" Crystal cheered.

Everyone looked at the party in amazement, background holiday music was playing on the CD player and Crystal was greeted by her mother in a nice gentle hug.

"Oh my troll Crystal, this looks amazing!" Poppy exclaimed.

"Yeah this looks great" Branch said.

"Thanks, I had some help from my friends" Crystal looked over at her friends who were testing the instruments.

"You all did a great job, we'll see you when you perform" Her father said as he and Poppy went to talk to the other leaders.

Crystal got herself ready, put on her headphones and took a few deep breaths to calm her nerves. Once she was ready, she went over to the microphone and tapped it to make sure it was working.

Crystal looked at everyone mingling and spoke "If I could please have everyone's attention?".

Everyone stopped talking and looked over to the stage, Crystal felt her nerves rushing back, she looked over to Chris who took a deep breath and she copied him which helped her focus.

"I'm really glad how this party turned out and we've prepared a song for everyone, we hope you like it" Crystal announced.

Crystal quietly counted and Lavender started playing her guitar.

💜 Well I've been waiting all year
Just for this day to get here 💜 Crystal looked at the audience.

💜 And I've been learning nothing goes
Exactly like you plan 💜

💜 Yeah, I've been flying solo,
thinking about all of the snow 💜 Crystal then looked at Chris and he gave her a thumbs up as he started to play the drums.

💜 I thought I'd be a no-go for this show,
but here I am 💜 Crystal took a deep breath to calm herself down.

💜 You might have seen me checking out
what's underneath that tree 💜

💜 But I have realised that there is
Just one gift for me 💜 Crystal's confidence started to grow as she sang louder, following her heart and the music.

💜 It's a perfect Christmas,
It's a perfect Christmas 💜

💜 It's a perfect Christmas
'Cause I'm with you! 💜

💜 Wooh! 💜

Poppy looked at her daughter and saw how confident she was, she saw everyone enjoying themselves and dancing along to the song.

"You know, I think this is one of my favorite holidays we've spent together" Branch said.

"Really? Why?" Poppy asked curiously.

"Because even though it's been a rough couple of days, we're still here together and our daughter reminded us that it's what's most important" Branch replied.

"I couldn't agree more" Poppy smiled.

Branch held her close and kissed her cheek as they enjoyed the music, proud of their daughter.

Hey! Hey! Hey!

💜 Put your hands up in the air! 💜

Ho! Ho! Ho!

💜 Santa, can you feel it? 💜

Here we go!

💜 Spread the magic everywhere 💜

Hey! Ho! Everybody shout out loud!

It's a perfect Christmas

It's a perfect Christmas

It's a perfect Christmas

💜 'Cause I'm with you (Hey! Hey! Hey!) 💜

💜 'Cause I'm with you (Ho! Ho! Ho!) 💜

💜 'Cause I'm with you (Here we go) 💜

💜 'Cause I'm with you (Ho! Ho! Ho!) 💜

💜 'Cause I'm with you 💜

Everyone cheered for the princess and her friends as the song finished and in the end, they were still together and they could agree on one thing that wasn't just a wish list...

It truly was the perfect Christmas

The end.
