Viva knew one thing for sure, she loved her sister deeply and would go above and beyond for her. But sometimes...you can't always be there for someone. That was her biggest regret, not being there for her sister while she was growing up. She missed her birthday parties, her coronation, and all the adventures she's gone on. But the worst thing of all...was that Poppy didn't even know she had a sister out there who was thinking of her. It wasn't until a few months ago that she learned she had a big sister who was separated from her when she was too young to remember.

Poppy: Viva!

Viva was snapped out of her thoughts when she heard her little sister's cheerful voice.

Poppy: Aren't you coming?! It's Cooper's half birthday!

Viva: O-Oh sure, I'll be right there.

But as Poppy was heading back, Viva took a look at her arm...there was a scar, and it covered nearly her whole arm.

Viva: Poppy, wait!

Poppy: Yeah?

Viva: What's that?

Poppy: What?

Viva: Your arm.

Poppy looked down at her arm.

Poppy: Oh...that, I didn't tell you, did I?

Viva: No...what happened?

Poppy sighed and sat on a log. She tapped the spot next to her and Viva sat there.

Poppy: I knew I would have to tell you at some point...just promise me you won't freak out.

Viva: I promise, just tell me.

Poppy: Okay...I was attacked by a Bergen.

Viva: WHAT?!?!?!

Viva immediately stood up and grabbed Poppy's face with both of her hands.

Poppy: I thought you said you wouldn't freak out...!

Viva: Please tell me you're joking, Poppy! You're just trying to scare me!

Poppy: No...I'm not.

Viva: When did this happen?!

Poppy sighed and put Viva's hands down.

Poppy: It happened when I was 5, I encountered a Bergen in the forest when I got lost, it narrowly missed me and cut my arm. I told everyone something different so no one would freak out. Either it was a birthmark or I had an accident. I didn't even tell Dad anything because I didn't want him to feel like a failure.

Viva sighed and covered her face.

Viva: Can't believe this, what else have you not told me?

Poppy: Um...the Bergens found us after we hid from them for 20 years. But...I got captured during a party celebrating Dad's bravery. They saw my scar and planned for me to be the first troll to be eaten.

The pop queen suddenly stopped talking when she heard Viva sobbing quietly, burying her face in her hands.

Poppy: Viva, what's wrong?

Viva: I can't believe this...I spent all this time wondering where you were while you didn't even know about me. And then I find out that you were almost killed not too long ago! I should've been there, Poppy! Then I could've protected you and the Bergens never would've done such things to you! I made a promise to always be there for you when you were born!

Poppy: Vivi...

Poppy took Viva's hands and wiped her tears away.

Viva: I'm so sorry, Poppy, I made a promise that I couldn't keep!

Poppy: Viva, no one's to blame. You couldn't have predicted this, neither could Dad. We never imagined the Bergens would find us...and I never imagined I would get scarred or captured. Even if you were here, you're still one troll, and one troll against a bunch of Bergens...it doesn't add up. It's an unfair advantage. But those days are over, the Bergens aren't our enemies anymore, they found their own happiness. You don't have to worry about them anymore, okay?

Viva: Okay...

Poppy: And hey, making a promise doesn't mean you have to live up to it right away. We're together now and you can still make up for it.

Poppy gave her older sister a kiss on her cheek and hugged her tightly.

Viva: I guess you're right, Poppy...you seem to have it all figured out.

Poppy: Well...I went through a lot this past year, I guess you could call it...experience. To be honest...it would've been a lot more fun with you around.

Viva: You mean that?

Poppy: 100%!

Viva felt better hearing that from her little sister. Maybe she was right, even though they didn't see each other growing up, they can still make up for it now. After all, they were sisters 'til the end.
