It was a lovely day in Troll Village. Branch was heading over to Poppy's pod to ask her out on a date. Half of him felt confident, and the other half felt nervous. This was the first time he had ever gone on a date with anyone. He had a place in mind but wanted to keep it a secret until he took Poppy there.

Branch walked up to her pod and knocked on the door. "Who is it?" she asked, approaching the door. "Poppy, It's me, Branch" he said. Poppy giggled from the other side of the door. She wasn't expecting him to come over, but she was happy that he did. Poppy opened the door and greeted Branch. "Hi Branch, what's up?" Poppy said. "Hi Poppy, um I-I wanted to, um, come over and ask you something. If that's ok" Branch said nervously. "Ok, what is it?" Poppy asked.

Branch fiddled with his fingers while slightly looking away. "So I was wondering if you were going to be busy later on today. Because um, I was thinking maybe, if you wanted, we could go to this place I was thinking about checking out" Branch said as his palms started to sweat. "Oh, well, no, I'm not busy later. And yeah, I would love to hang out. Where are we going?" Poppy asked. Branch felt a wave of relief wash over him and spoke up. "It's a surprise" Branch said, smiling.

"Ooooh, I love surprises!" she said excitedly. "So what time would you like me to pick you up?" Branch asked. "How about 7:00? Does that sound good?" she asked. "All right, I'll be there. I'll see you soon" he said, walking away. "Ok, see you then" Poppy said, waving goodbye. 

As Branch got further away from Poppy's pod, he quietly cheered for himself. He was so happy she said yes, but now that she did, he hoped that she liked the surprise he had in store.

It was 6:55, and Branch was just on his way to pick up Poppy. He walked up to the door and knocked on it, waiting for her to greet him. He took a deep breath as he heard footsteps coming closer toward him. The door opened, and Poppy came out wearing her same outfit she usually wears when she goes out. "Hi Poppy, ready to go" he asked, holding out his hand for her. "Yeah, I'm ready. I can't wait for the surprise" she said, holding his hand.

"Oh yeah, since it is a surprise, do you mind if I put this blindfold on you" he said, taking out a blindfold from his pocket. "Sure, just make sure I don't trip on anything" she said, giggling. "Don't worry, I got you" he said as he wrapped the blindfold around her eyes. They started walking, and Branch took both Poppy's hands and carefully guided her to the place.

Soon, they finally got there, and Poppy was so curious about where Branch was taking her. "Are we there yet?" Poppy asked. "Yep, we're here. I'm gonna take off the blindfold now. I hope you like the surprise" Branch said, taking off the blindfold.

Poppy opened her eyes, and she gasped at what was in front of her. It was a new roller skate rink that she had never been to. She saw other trolls skating with their friends and having a good time. It was so awesome.

"Branch, this is so amazing, I love roller skating" I said, hugging him. He hugged her back happily, knowing that she loved it. "You're welcome, Poppy" he said, smiling. "Well, come on, let's skate!!" Poppy said as she grabbed Branch's hand and ran toward the rink.

They both got their roller skates and started off on the rink. Poppy was having a lot of fun as she skated across the floor. Branch, on the other hand, tried his best to keep up. He wasn't exactly the best when it came to roller skating, but he knew Poppy liked it. Poppy turned around and saw Branch struggling on his skates. She skated over next to him to help him out. "Having trouble?" She asked. "No, I mean a little. But i'm fine, I prrrommmisss ahhh" Branch said as he was about to fall over.

Poppy quickly caught him and took both of his hands in hers. "It's ok if you're having trouble skating. Let me help you" Poppy said. Branch nodded, accepting her offer. "It's a little like walking, but you keep your knees slightly bent, keep your balance, and just put one foot in front of the other" She said, beginning to skate backward. She still held onto Branch as he did as she instructed.

He kept his eyes on his feet as he held onto Poppy, and soon enough, he got the hang of it. "Hey, I think I got it" He said. "That's great. Do you want me to let go?" Poppy asked. "Yeah, but could you still stay by my side?" He asked. "Of course" Poppy said back. She lets go of his hands and scoots right beside him.

As they continued skating, Poppy showed him some tricks that she learned how to do. Branch watched as she spun and twirled on the rink. He thought she looked so beautiful when she did it. Branch decided to join her and try to mimic her moves, but that ultimately backfired as he tripped over his left foot. Poppy saw him losing his balance and tried to catch, but instead, they both fell on the floor.

Branch grunted in pain from the fall but quickly noticed that Poppy was right on top of him. "Um, sorry, I guess I got a little too confident" Branch said, sitting up. "It's fine, you don't need to apologize" Poppy said, sitting up as well. Branch noticed that Poppy's hand was still on his arm after the fall, and he began to blush. "Thank you for this, Branch, seriously. I'm having so much fun" Poppy said, smiling. "Of course, Poppy. It always makes me happy to see you happy" Branch said lovingly.

Poppy blushed at his words, and they both stared into each others eyes. "Uh, hehe, ok, let's get up. I'll help y-" Poppy was cut off when a troll bumped into her and caused her to fall on Branch. Branch and Poppy were both shocked as they saw that both their lips were touching each other. Poppy pulled away, blushing hard, and Branch just stayed silent while blushing as well. "Aaaaah! Branch, I'm so sorry! I didn't mean to, It was an accide-" Poppy was cut off by Branch as he put a finger under her chin.

Branch then leaned in and kissed Poppy on the lips. This shocked Poppy, but she felt herself enjoying it, and she melted into the kiss. After a few seconds, they both pulled away, looking at each other with love in their eyes. "I love you, Poppy" Branch said passionately. Poppy was still in awe by the kiss, but she managed to answer Branch with just as much passion as him. "I love you too, Branch" She said.
