*CRASH!*
*RUMBLE!*
*SPUTTER! SPUTTER!*
*BELLOWS IN A SLOW TEMPO*
What you are hearing is the sound of an armadillo bus breaking down in the middle of the badlands while on a musical trip to Bergen Town. But one would ask "What armadillo bus"? Well...
Rhonda was currently staggering, letting its tongue out as it panted in exhaustion, feeling a little too worn out and not feeling well at all to continue. It was only able to pull out a few more steps before it stopped, coughing out a puff of smoke as it bellowed tiredly.
Inside the bus, Viva, who was currently at the wheel, had noticed the abrupt stop and commented, "Uh-oh, that doesn't sound good."
Poppy, who was sitting in the seat next to Viva, noticed her older sister's concerned face and looked up from the magazine she was reading, asking, "Sis, what's wrong"?
The older Pop Troll hissed slightly under her breath while saying to Poppy, "Well, Poppy...we're broken down...and stuck in the middle of nowhere."
"Wait, we're stuck," Melody, who was lying on the couch fiddling with her guitar, asked as she sat up and heard the news that they had broken down, "How bad is it? Can we get Rhonda moving again"?
Viva tried to press the button to start the engine up again, but all she got was the sound of Rhonda sputtering and coughing, letting out another cloud of smoke. The inside of the armadillo bus shook when it sputtered, making everyone brace for impact and try to maintain balance in case a sudden shock threw me off.
"I'm not exactly an expert on cars, but I think going by the way that Rhonda just sputtered means that we aren't going anywhere any time soon," Lizzy, who had gotten herself a cup of coffee she made from John Dory's kitchen stove, stated before taking a sip.
"Oh man," Melody hesitantly stated, clutching the side of her head while saying, "John Dory is gonna kill us! He trusted us to watch Rhonda while he and BroZone went on tour and now, we can't even get the poor armadillo moving"!
Poppy reassured everyone, saying, "Don't worry. I'm sure we can get Rhonda moving again. She's probably having some problems with the engine. I'll go out and see if I can get it fixed up."
Viva was surprised to see her little sister seem to know how to fix cars, asking her, "Wait, you can fix engines?"
"Branch has taught me a lot about machinery, so I've picked up a few tips here and there," Poppy happily replied as she started to head to the side door so she could go outside.
Poppy stepped out of Rhonda through the side door and came up to the front, greeting Rhonda with an eager, "Hey, girl"!
Rhonda smiled and gave Poppy a slobbery lick, covering the Pop Queen in glitter slobber, while Poppy let out a small chuckle, the feeling of Rhinda's tongue tickling her slightly.
Poppy quickly brushed off some of the excess glitter slobber off her dress while telling Rhonda, "I feel you, I feel you, much love reciporcated back. So, sounds like you seem to be having some engine problems; mind if I take a look and see if I can fix it for ya"?
Rhonda nodded and opened its mouth, which allowed Poppy to peek her head in and take a look inside. With a wrench in hand, Poppy quickly got to work on tightening some of the bolts in Rhonda's upper-roof engine.
Melody and Lizzy both peeked their heads through the windows and watched how Poppy worked to fix the engine up.
Once the bolts seemed to be perfectly tightened, Poppy pulled her head back out and called out to Viva, asking her, "Ok, why don't you try it now"?
Viva heard Poppy's call and shouted, "'Kay, trying it now," and gave the button another firm press, watching closely to see if whatever Poppy did worked and helped Rhonda get moving again.
However, when Rhonda started up again, Poppy could see wires glitch in Rhonda's mouth, hearing the armadillo bus sputter again, and unleash an explosive puff of smoke that occurred right at her face, making Poppy flinch back and brace the impact that came with it.
"Ooh," Melody declared as she and Lizzy cringed, turning their faces away when they saw how bad the smoke puff was, Lizzy added as she opened one eye to see if Poppy was ok, "That did not look good."
Viva peered through the driver's window and tried to look down, hoping that Poppy was okay. She asked her, "Everything okay down there, sis?"
Poppy looked up and gave Viva a thumbs up, trying to mask the fact that things weren't as good as they looked. She said, "Yeah," before looking back at the engine and adding a sarcastic, "Super." Between the bits of debris and bolts that now littered her face, Poppy was very much bothered by the fact that this was not going to be as easy as she thought.
"We are SO gonna be running late," Melody commented with a facepalm.
"I hope Bergens have gained a sense of patience along with their happiness," Lizzy added with a slight shrug.
Just then, as Viva was trying to think of what else they could do, out of the blue, Tiny had somehow hovered up right next to her, floating in mid-air while sitting in what seemed to be a meditating pose. He had taken account of the current vehicle issues and asked, "Car troubles"?
The sound of the question made Viva turn her head and, at first, become startled when she saw Tiny Diamond had appeared out of nowhere, prompting her to flinch and let out a shocked scream.
Viva's scream prompted Lizzy to put her head back inside Rhonda and look to see what had gotten Viva screaming. She was equally surprised to see Tiny had ended up in the vehicle with them, commenting as her eyes widened in surprise, "What in the world?"!
Lizzy's exclaim made Melody move her head back in and notice Tiny Diamond, gasping in surprise while saying, "Tiny Diamond"?!
"In the glittery flesh," Tiny Diamond happily replied while Viva had quickly gotten over her shock and was now confused as to how he had gotten onto Rhonda without them noticing, asking, "How'd you even get in here"?
"Snuck on again when my daddy went out shopping," Tiny answered before saying, "But on more serious matters, you know what I like to do when things go wrong"?
Viva could tell that Tiny already had an eager solution in mind and replied, moving her hands while trying to be curious as her mind right now was on the more logical side of the matter, "Something tells me that I'm about to find out."
"And something tells me the solution is going to sound extreme," Lizzy said, crossing her arms and raising a curious eyebrow.
Tiny chuckled, saying, "Actually Pop/Techno Mixed lady, it's all but a simple thing, really."
"And what "simple" thing would that be, Tiny," Melody asked while making air quotes around the world "simple."
Tiny replied while making his fingers move around, mimicking the action of pressing buttons on a dashboard, "Start! Pressing! Buttons"!
Right away, the little glitter Troll, not listening to Viva's protests, started to jump around all over Rhonda's dashboard, pressing all of the available knobs and buttons available that would trigger any possible result if successful. Plus, you couldn't blame him for suggesting this as he WAS a kid, and kids LOVED to press random buttons to see if it'd make things work.
However, his button-pressing escapade came to a sudden halt when Tiny felt himself land on the hustle button, which could only mean one thing, prompting him to realize what he had done and comment a worried, "Uh oh."
The interior of the armadillo bus began to shake, with Melody asking worryingly while Lizzy held onto her sister with her tailfins wrapped around Melody's waist, "Uh, what is happening"?!
Outside, as Poppy was trying to inspect the engine more, the Pop Queen noticed a lot of colorful light beginning to shine from inside Rhonda's mouth, which made Poppy nervously take a step back and look up, starting to ask, Uh...Viva-,"
But before she could finish asking what was going on, the lights inside got so bright, and in an instant, the gravity of the Hustle Dimension pulled Poppy right in, with Rhonda closing her mouth afterward as the critter itself was confused as to what had happened.
When Viva couldn't hear Poppy's voice anymore, she immediately flew into a panic, asking rapidly, "Poppy? Poppy"?!
She got out of the driver's seat and ran outside, shouting, "Poppy, where are you"?!
"What happened to Poppy?" Melody asked while looking out the window. Lizzy followed her little sister and looked out the other window, trying to see where Poppy could've gone.
"She must've gotten pulled inside of Rhonda after Tiny activated the hustle button," Lizzy theorized before she asked the Glitter Troll, "What does that button even do"?
Tiny had a sheepish/nervous smile as he explained, "Well, see mixed ladies, that button activates a trip into the Hustle Dimension."
"The what dimension," Lizzy and Melody both asked in unison, both sisters sharing visible looks of confusion.
But no one had time to think about it in greater detail as the sound of Viva's scream alerted them, making Melody pick up Tiny she and Lizzy ran outside to see what happened but were surprised to see that now Viva was gone too!
"Viva? Viva," Lizzy quickly called out to the Pop Troll, who had now gone missing too.
Melody saw some glowing coming from inside of Rhonda's mouth and placed Tiny on her head before she pried the armadillo bus' mouth open, seeing the colorful light shimmering and what her vision caught, a small glimpse of Viva's now tiny figure falling down into the abyss deep below.
She told Lizzy, "Sorella, she went inside Rhonda! She must be going after Poppy"!
Melody then placed Tiny on the ground and told him, "Tiny, stay here; Lizzy and I are going to go after Poppy and Viva."
Melody's comment made Lizzy gasp and ask in confusion/slight nervousness, "Wait, we're gonna what"?
"Come on," Melody replied while jumping into Rhonda's mouth, getting sucked into the Hustle Dimension, while Lizzy, while hesitant, followed right after her little sister. Rhonda's mouth closed up after the two Mixed Trolls had hopped into the Hustle Dimension.
This left Tiny all by himself with Rhonda, the little glitter Troll, and the armadillo bus looking at one another in confusion about what was going on. Tiny shuffled his foot while asking her, "So...what do you think about hip-hop and rap music"?
IT TAKES THREE!
Inside, everything was pitch-black, not a trace of color or light seemed to make the whole area within the Hustle Dimension sparkle like it usually does. The only abnormal trait that stuck out was the increasingly growing sound of screaming that came from above, courtesy of a falling Poppy.
Poppy fell into the deep, deep darkness that was the interior of Rhonda's derived Hustle Dimension, screaming as she kept falling, falling, falling...until she reached the ground, landing face-first. Upon landing, the sudden THUD also triggered a small musical beat that played when she collided with the floor. However, it didn't do much to mitigate the pain coursing through Poppy's body, making her turn her head slightly while saying a drained, "Blergh."
Once the Pop Queen was able to get to her feet, she noticed that the area around her was...different. Normally, the Hustle Dimension was bright, colorful, and exuberant, filled with good vibes and fun music! This time, it looked empty and soulless. Yet Poppy also saw that she had returned to the same 2D figure appearance she had when she first entered the dimension, waving her tiny hand-less arms while saying a surprised, "Wow."
Suddenly, the sound of a high-pitched scream made Poppy turn her head to see where the sound was coming from.
On cue, Viva had fallen to the floor, landing face-fist with a sudden THUD that produced the same musical beat as Poppy's landing.
Poppy immediately smiled, seeing her older sister, declaring, "Viva"!
"Poppy," Viva, who was able to look up and see her sister, happily replied while getting back onto her feet.
The two sisters ran up to one another, eyeing how adorable their 2D designs looked, declaring in eager unison, "You look amazing! Incredible! Sensational! Spectacular"!
Just then, the two Trolls heard more screaming right above them and looked up, eyeing two darkened figures falling right toward them.
The figures turned out to be none other than Lizzy and Melody, who both crashed onto the ground just behind Poppy and Viva. Their THUDS also produced a mixture of the same musical beat that the Pop sisters' landing did.
Lizzy was able to get up to her feet, too. Eyeing the 2D aesthetics that now made up her figurative appearance, she commented, "OMT, I look like I could be a Trolling's favorite squeak toy!"
"You're telling me, sis," Melody, who had started to get to her feet, replied, patting her stomach while declaring, "We look like we gained 50 pounds on the upper and lower halves of our bodies while our faces had scrunched up from eating the world's most sour candy!"
"On the plus side, we look super cute," Viva added cheerfully.
"I guess we do," Lizzy answered while flicking her 2D tailfins while Melody clicked her now tie-dye patterned sneakers.
Just then, a beam of light illuminated the area slightly, shining on the Trolls like a spotlight, which prompted the group to look up and see where it was coming from.
As it turned out, it was coming from the outside, thanks to Rhonda, who was able to open her mouth after being temporarily locked after Melody and Lizzy had jumped in after Viva and Poppy. Tiny reached his head in, calling out to them, "Hey, you guys! It's probably not a good idea to leave a baby around with heavy machinery for too long!"
"Sparkly baby makes a solid point," Viva replied before she extended her right arm out, tightening her now visibly tiny hand into a fist, and the muscles in her arm automatically inflated.
"Oh," Poppy gasped out, surprised by what her sister had just been able to do.
"Is that natural," Lizzy asked in confusion.
"At this point, I'm down for anything if it means we can get out of here," Melody answered honestly.
Viva held her now muscular arm up high while saying in a deep/epic voice, "Hold on to me, ladies."
"Ok," Poppy replied as she, Lizzy, and Melody all began to grip onto Viva as tightly as they could.
Viva pulled out an orange sticky hand toy from her hair, and Poppy said happily, "Ooh, sticky hand!"
"Smart idea; these things are like handy ropes that can get us out of any jam," Melody commented eagerly.
Viva swung the sticky hand around like a lasso, giving it some strong leverage and enough force for it to be tossed up high enough so that it can grip onto something and help pull them out of here.
With a mighty throw, Viva gave the sticky hand a toss, while Tiny, by Rhonda's mouth, readied to receive it and grab hold, declaring, "Come on, sticky hand"!
The closer it got, the closer Tiny stood, ready to grab it, declaring, "I'm gonna get it"!
When the sticky hand almost reached, Tiny started to reach out his arms and hand to grab it, commenting as he stretched them out, "Almost..."!
However, it was so close and yet so far, as the sticky hand, just barely out of Tiny's grasp, wasn't able to make it and started to fall back, making Tiny holler in disappointment, "No, no, no, no, no, no! Oh, huckleberries!"
The sticky hand fell back and collided with the girls, making them fall and land on the floor again, the idea of escaping the devoid Hustle Dimension all but close to a mere fantasy.
But, when they landed on the floor, something interesting happened; the collision also made Poppy let out a small whistle, and upon the whistle, she emitted a big note that bounced on the floor, making the same musical beat that the Trolls did when they first fell and landed in here.
As the girls stood up and eyed the now-bouncing note that moved away, Melody, curious about this, wanted to try something. She let out another whistle, and another note appeared, bouncing on the floor again, producing the same beat. She touched it, feeling that it was solid, and tried to stand on it. It was wobbly at first, but soon, she was able to get some balance.
Lizzy noticed this, too, and gave another whistle, but hers sounded a bit lower, and the note that she made rested higher up than Melody's note; she jumped up, using Melody's note as leverage to get higher, and stood on her music note, saying, "Hey, look; when you whistle a tune, you make these musical notes that kind of look a little like a staircase."
Viva wanted to give it a try and whistled, which made another note show up that now hovered in the air rather than bounced. Poppy then accompanied that by whistling a full tune that produced a series of notes that rested right above Viva's singular note.
Melody recognized the tune that Poppy had whistled, saying, "Hey, I know that song! Isn't that the one that goes," before clearing her throat and singing, "I didn't know until I found you, having the time of our lives, it takes two"?
"It takes two," Lizzy added afterward, following the same musical scale as her little sister.
Poppy and Viva gasped in surprise when they saw that the two Mixed Trolls knew the same song, with Viva asking, "You two know this song?"
"You both know it, too," Melody asked in surprise, which earned a sea of nods from everyone.
This gave Poppy a great idea, eagerly climbing up some of the notes that she made and asking the others, "Girls, are you thinking what I'm thinking," as she pulled out a radio and pressed play, getting some music to start playing.
Viva could already tell what Poppy had in mind and smiled, answering back happily, "Uh, always"!
Melody and Lizzy looked at one another and nodded in unison before they looked up at Poppy and said in unison, "We're in!"
All together, the 4 Trolls began to sing in harmony, creating a cascade of musical notes that acted as steps to help them scale higher and higher up to Rhonda's mouth. While they did that, the music playing also helped to reilluminate the Hustle Dimension, giving it back its color and vibe that made it feel so groovy to chill in! Though their singing did not only produce notes, it also made a series of block-letter lyrics show up that acted like steps, giving the girls more leverage to use as they climbed higher and higher, working together!
Poppy and Viva, Melody and Lizzy: I didn't know until I found you; havin' the time of our lives, it takes two (Melody and Poppy: It takes two)! When I look up, the stars are brighter; now I know everything's better with you (Lizzy and Viva: It takes two)!
Tiny, who was listening to the girls' singing, was jaw-dropped to see their fun performance and couldn't help but find it very catchy. He moved his arms and hips while he danced to the song.
Poppy and Viva, Melody and Lizzy: You got me feelin' right, feelin' right, feelin' like good vibes are at my door! Every day, every night, ooh-ooh (Viva: It takes two)!
The girls were soon almost there; they just had to sing a little more!
Poppy and Viva, Melody and Lizzy: I didn't know until I found you (Viva and Lizzy: 'Til I found you); havin' the time of our lives, it takes two (Poppy and Melody: It takes two)!
This was it; just the last bit of lyrics, and they'd be back outside, free!
Poppy and Viva, Melody and Lizzy: It takes me...and you!
But, even the leverage from their harmonic note wasn't enough to give them that extra inch needed to get out, and the girls all soon started to fall back into the Hustle dimension.
Tiny saw this, and he grinned, knowing just what he had to do to help save them!
He made a bountiful leap into the Hustle Dimension, becoming flat and 2D like them, and delivered a rap verse with extra lyric blockage that gave the girls an extra push!
Tiny: Comin' to a void; you start feeling two-dimensional! I can help you out, even if it's unconventional!
When Tiny rapped out the word "unconventional," it came out as extra long lyric block letters that laid at the bottom of the dimension and acted as a slingshot that began to catch the Trolls and stretch back, almost ready to fire and let them fly!
Tiny: Take it from ol' Tiny Diamond; it's my guarantee!
With the lyric slingshot giving them the extra boost, the Trolls were sent flying up, up, up, all the way to Rhonda's mouth and to freedom!
Tiny: If you're lost and feeling hazy, sometimes, it takes three!
Outside, Rhonda could feel something start to come up from inside her, and when it reached her mouth, she immediately felt the urge to spit it out right away. And right away, she did, releasing the Trolls who had gone inside her back out into the open, covering them in but only a thin layer of glitter slobber.
"Ew, it's gonna take me days to wash the slobber off my jacket," Melody stated while seeing how slimy her sleeve had become.
But that thought went away the minute that all 4 girls noticed that they were back outside, back in the badlands! They made it out!
The Trolls got up, and all cheered happily to be free, with Rhonda sharing their enthusiasm and letting out a victorious bellow alongside them.
Viva hugged Poppy, Melody, and Lizzy, telling them, "Girls, we made it"!
"And we did it, together," Melody added happily with a chuckle.
Lizzy chuckled in response, saying, "Yep; you all sounded so great together."
Poppy smiled and replied back, "Oh stop; I appreciate the comment, but if I'm honest, I was a bit pitchy."
"You were pitchy? I sounded so off-beat at the end," Melody mentioned while scratching the back of her head.
Then, Rhonda and the girls saw Tiny Diamond, who was still flat and as light as a sheet of paper, float back to the ground, saying, "Personally, I felt a bit "flat."
Rhonda thought that the pun was a little tiresome, but the girls thought it was pretty funny, all 4 of them breaking into laughter. Tiny joined in on the laughter too, but he was a little more nervous, especially when he then interrupted the moment, telling them worryingly, which made them stop and listen, "No, but seriously, my daddy is gonna flip out! For real"!
