Tracing Back to Your Roots
Hey guys, I'm back! Sorry for the delay in chapter postings; it's finals season, and I got a bunch of tests to study for! So I've been working on them, and the next set of chapters at the same time!
I do not own Trolls or Trolls World Tour or Trolls Band Together or any of the characters in the franchise or the songs! And I especially don't own any of the songs I use from the movie or any other song I pick out in general! I also don't own the characters of Trollstopia! The only thing I do own are my O.C.s Melody Song, McJagger, Buckaroo, Stereo, and Twilight Tidepool; I.M. Rally owns her O.C. Aggie Galido, and Cheah owns his O.C. Finn Okazaki Tidepool. Now, strap in, ladies and gentlemen, and let's get on with the show!
Meanwhile, over in Trollstopia, Laguna's group had all temporarily returned to their homes in Trollstopia so that they could change out of their fancy outfits and into their regular clothing. Together, they made arrangements to meet up at the beach in a few minutes once they were changed and had packed up whatever they needed for the exploration trip. Once everyone was ready, they all headed towards the beach to head to their first stop: Techno Reef.
By the beach, near where land and sea met, Laguna, Aggie, the Trollstopia ambassadors and associates all stood and gazed out at the water. The sunlight made the ocean shimmer as brightly as a diamond, nothing but blue, blue, and more blue as far as the eye could see. Synth was currently by the edge of the water, seemingly inspecting something, while the other Trolls were gathered at the shoreline, preparing to set off.
"Ok, guys; for those of you who can't breathe underwater, get your helmets on now; it'll help you be able to retain proper oxygen levels while we're looking around under the water," Laguna instructed her friends.
On cue, Val, Holly, Dante, Low-Note Jones, Melody, McJagger, and Buckaroo all placed on glass helmets so they could be able to breathe while still swim around underwater without losing oxygen. Laguna, Synth, Stereo, and Aggie did not need to wear any helmets since the first three Trolls mentioned could easily breathe underwater, being Techno Trolls and everything, and Aggie, due to having gained the blue color of Techno music when she earned her True Colors, which came with her having a blue tailfin, also had the ability to breathe underwater just like the Normal Techno Trolls could.
"All helmets have been secured on our heads," Dante reported.
"Dang, y'all, ay ken't wait ta see Techno Reef," Holly commented excitedly.
"Same here, babies; Low-Note Jones is feeling funktastically elated that we'll get to be visiting the undersea home of the Techno Trolls," Low-Note Jones added on happily.
"Yo, you guys are love getting to see Techno Reef up close in the real-real," Stereo stated happily.
"Yeah, you'll be amazed by how the reef looks," Aggie told them, saying, "From my past visits there, I can tell you that it's quite the sight to see! The heart-shaped coral center where all of the raves are held is beautiful, especially when it's glowing and illuminated during one of the rave parties! Seeing the lights shine to the beat of the music playing is enough to get you dancing"!
While the other Trolls were excited about starting their journey, Laguna's gaze was more focused on the ocean. The purple Techno was feeling very...nervous about all this. Yes, she felt excited and determined to try and look for her mom, and it was exciting to get to be visiting home for a bit to look for clues, but...she was also nervous about returning home. She hadn't been back at the reef since she moved to Trollstopia, and she hadn't been back at her house since...the day she escaped her father.
McJagger noticed how Laguna was looking out at the ocean and approached her, asking, "You feeling ok"?
"Nervous, excited, scared, concerned, worried, antsy, you know, the use," Laguna replied with a hesitant smile and an unsure shrug.
McJagger couldn't help but chuckle, saying, "Yeah, and they say women aren't complicated," which prompted him and Laguna to both chuckle together before the Funk Troll then asked, "But in all seriousness, are you feeling alright"?
Laguna nodded nervously while saying, "Just a little...nervous is all. Returning home again after weeks of being away...I thought I'd feel ready but...part of me is nagging at me, like it's telling me that...I'm not ready yet."
"It's perfectly natural to feel nervous about returning back home after being away for a while," McJagger commented reassuringly while he placed a comforting paw on her back, "Esepcially since I can tell you're nervous about running into "you know who" along the way."
Laguna gave a quiet nod in response as McJagger continued, saying, "But remember, you aren't alone on this exploration trip; you got me, and you got our friends coming along with you to help. We're all here for you, right by your side. You're safe with us in your corner."
Feeling reassured, Laguna looked up at McJagger and smiled, saying, "Thank you, McJagger."
Soon, the rest of the group, minus Synth since he was still out by the ocean's edge, had gathered up, with Aggie saying, "We're all ready to go"!
Laguna faced her friends, saying to them, "Perfect. So, shall we start heading to the reef"?
"YEAH," everyone cheered out loud in unison, before suddenly, Val seemed to remember something.
"Wait a a second," Val spoke up, asking in confusion, "Exactly HOW are we gonna get to the reef? Isn't that like a deep dive or something"?
"Note: yes, on a technical aspect," Laguna answered before saying, "But we won't have to do too much diving as most of the journey would be based on swimming."
"But nawht all ov us are strong deep-divin' swimmuurrs," Buckaroo mentioned while stretching out one of their hooves.
"Buckaroo makes a good point," Melody replied while placing a hand on her prosthetic leg, asking, "So what do we do for those of us who can't swim as strongly underwater"?
Synth then approached the group, saying to them, "Not to worry, yo, I have the perfect solution"!
"Oh? And what may that be," Dante asked the Techno prince curiously.
"Haha! Check this out," Synth commented before he turned around, facing the ocean, and used both his index fingers to let out a shrill whistle.
At the sound of the whistle, a flock of about 7 manta ray creatures came popping out of the water, showing to be light periwinkles on top, and glowing different neon colors on the bottom. Their flipper-like wings were covered in pink pixilated square patterns, and their tails were curled up at the end in the shape of music notes.
"Ooh," the group all said in awe/surprise.
"What are those," Aggie asked curiously.
"Mant-Music Rays," Synth replied, explaining, "These lil' creatures usually do delivery routes around the reef, but I called them over to help take us over to Techno Reef! The strong ocean currents and deep-sea pressure can't stand a chance to their swimming abilities, yo."
"They're so cute," Holly squealed as she petted one of them on the head, which chittered adorably before it spat out a stream of water at Holly, soaking the Country ambassador.
Some of the Trolls snickered from seeing this, as Synth commented, "Oops, forgot to mention; they like to spit water at random when they pop out from under the water; it's a nod to their mischief streak."
Holly, who was now dripping wet, commented with a deadpanned facial expression, "Wish ya warned me about that befawe ay got soaked."
"You're gonna get wet underwater anyway; think of it like a pre-soak before we get actually soaked," Stereo offered cheerfully, though it didn't do much to rid the deadpanned expression off of Holly right away.
McJagger hopped onto one of the Mant-Music Rays' back, and sat down, saying, "Interesting; despite being underwater previously and having a slippery texture upon the outer layer, their skin appears to be quite durable."
"Helps with carrying those big packages without them falling off," Synth replied.
Low-Note Jones then pointed out, "Looks like there's enough for all of us to ride on, baby."
One by one, Val, Holly, Dante, Low-Note Jones, Melody, McJagger, and Buckaroo picked a Mant-Music Ray to ride on and climbed onto their backs. Laguna, Synth, Stereo, and Aggie didn't need to hop onto one because they could easily swim underwater without worry, with the four entering the ocean and swimming around a bit, but not too far away from their friends.
"So, how do we raade these crittuurrs," Buckaroo asked.
Synth explained, "Well, yo, you gotta lay on your stomach when you ride them; they don't like it if ya sit upright on their backs 'cause legs pokin' at their back ain't a good feeling."
"Sort of like when you ride a boogie board," Aggie asked Synth, who nodded in reply.
That got the Trolls who were riding the Mant-Music Rays to adjust themselves and lay on their stomach, flat on the backs of the sea creatures.
Synth then instructed, "Now, just stretch your arms up, and lay 'em flat, with the palms of your hands flat on their back."
"Uh, why exactly do we do that," Val asked as she and the other Trolls followed as instructed.
"For the last step, yo," Synth explained before he shouted, "Hyah"!
"Uh, how do we "Hy-," YAHHHHHHHHHH," Dante started to ask before he felt the Mant-Music Ray he was on move and dive underwater really fast, prompting a scream from the Classical ambassador.
On cue, the other Mant-Music Rays started to dive underwater, with the Trolls riding them shouting as they dove under, with Aggie and the Techno Trolls going underwater and swimming alongside the critters.
Underwater, the Trolls were on their way to Techno Reef! Synth, Stereo, Laguna, and Aggie swam beside the flock of Mant-Music Rays that were carrying the Trolls who rode on their backs.
"Woohoo," Holly shouted while laughing.
"Oh yeah, this is hardcore," Val cheered out loud.
"We riding high, Trolls," Low-Note Jones declared happily with a chuckle.
"This is so cool! Riding a Mant-Music Ray is so much cooler than riding a snowboard," Melody commented in awe while petting the manta ray's back, hearing the critter chirp in awe.
"Ahhhh, these speeds are not what I anticipated with our trip," Dante shouted as he struggled to keep his composure still so he wouldn't fall off.
"Yeehaw," Buckaroo shouted while waving their left arm around as if they had a lasso in their hand.
"It feels like we're flying," McJagger commented happily while looking around and enjoying the feel of being underwater.
"It's the life, isn't it," Aggie happily asked her friends as she swam around them, saying, "When you're underwater, it's a whole new world to explore"!
"Note: the feeling is super surreal, and look around you as we're swimming; notice how the plant and animals live differ to on land," Laguna mentioned.
The Trolls looked around in awe as they took sight of the underwater plants, the animals that they passed by, from hermit crabs to starfish, and the occasional eels that slithered out of the rocks below and into the dirt.
Synth noticed somethin and grinned, waving as he shouted, "Hi, Jerry"!
Nearby, a pufferfish heard the sound of Synth's declaration and was startled, blowing up as a result, his spines being puffed out.
Synth laughed, saying, "That's so Jerry"!
"So, Synth, how do we to Techno Reef from here," McJagger asked the prince.
Synth replied, "Well, back when I first can home to bring some of the Techno Trolls to Trollstopia, we all rode this really neat current that led us to the lake where Pop Village was. We just have to follow that current and we'll be back home in no time"!
"Cool," Melody replied enthusiastically before asking, "What's a current"?
"Not much, what's current with you," Synth joked in response, his joke making Stereo laugh, exclaiming, "Oh my Troll, that was a good one, Synthesizer"!
Aggie, thinking that the joke was a little cheesy, rolled her eyes while chuckling as Laguna sighed and facepalmed in slight annoyance.
Laguna then explained, "Currents are continuous, direct movements of seawater generated by a number of forces acting upon the water."
"It's kind of like riding a rollercoaster, a really fast one with tons of bubbles! It's so *imitates airhorn noises* to ride in one," Stereo added on.
"Sounds laake they're pretty fast," Holly stated.
"Oh, they're fast alright," Synth replied, adding, "Like supersonic fast! So fast that once you come out, you'll have a rattling headache for days, haha"!
"Good thing I have plenty of headache relievers in case we do wind up with one," McJagger commented.
Dante then asked, "so, what does a current look like exactly"?
Stereo then noticed something in the distance and grinned, declaring, "Like that, yo"!
Up in the distance, there was a long, white, bubbly stream of water that seemed to wrap around a few times and looked very twisty to ride, and noticing how fast the bubbles inside were going, it looked really fast.
"We gotta ride THAT current," Aggie asked in shock when she caught sight of the current in the distance.
Synth chuckled before saying, "Oh no, not that one future sis-in-law; that one takes you to the Arctic. To get to Techno Reef, we need to ride THAT current over there," before pointing in a different direction.
Everyone turned their heads and saw that there was a much BIGGER, LONGER, and FASTER current that they were approaching, commenting, "Woah," in shock, before some of them gulped nervously.
"Oh boy, that looks fast," Low-Note Jones stated.
"Of course, we end up having to go down the more intense current," Dante hesitantly commented.
Laguna saw the upcoming current, and she, too, was nervous about riding it. But she took a deep breath in and out, saying, "Well, when the going gets tough, a Tidepool gets going! So, let's ride it like our lives depend on it"!
"Y'all heard Laguna; let's head ta it," Buckaroo declared.
With that, the group headed toward the large current; the closer that they got to the current, the stronger they could feel the force of the water pulling them in.
Once they got close enough, the group got swept into the large current, and as instantly as they entered it, they all rode it down, moving very fast and suddenly, prompting the Trolls to all shout and cheer as they rode the current like a rollercoaster. The Mant-Music Rays all swam beautifully in the current and flapped their fins like wings, which made it look like they were flying amongst the current. For Synth, Stereo, Laguna, and Aggie, the force of the current made them all swim around in swirls, following the motion of the water.
Everyone was having a blast riding inside the current.
Val and Dante leaned their Mant-Music Rays towards the side, making the critters swim alongside the swirling edges of the current, making them move in a swirling fashion. The Rock and Classical ambassadors held on tight and cheered while enjoying the ride.
Buckaroo was riding their Mant-Music Ray critter in the fashion of having it spin around the bubbles that got in their way, making them holler, "Yippie-ki-yay"!
Melody's Mant-Music Ray dodged two others and swam in a loop-de-loop, making the Rock/Pop Troll cheer.
Aggie swam by Low-Note Jones before she spun around the Mant-Music Ray and let the hold of the current carry her, making the MMt cheer, "This is awesome"!
McJagger was riding his Mant-Music Ray next to Laguna, the couple cheering as they rode the current's wave together.
Everyone was having so much fun that they didn't notice that they were coming up towards the end of the current. The final pass they went through pushed them out of the current and back into smooth, well-flowing water.
All of the Trolls were all laughing and smiling, with Synth and Stereo both mimicking airhorn noises while Holly was shouting afterward, "Woohoo, that was fun, y'all"!
"Yeah; that was such a thrill," Melody cheered.
"I almost didn't want to stop riding that current," Aggie added with a chuckle.
"Note: it was such excitement getting to ride it with you guys," Laguna mentioned happily.
"And look, yo; we made it to Techno Reef," Stereo pointed out as she gestured to where Techno Reef was.
Down in the deep watery blue of Techno Reef, the Techno Trolls were all happily swimming around, enjoying their day. Some of them were gathered by the heart-shaped coral and were currently partying at a rave that a nearby DJ was hosting; every Troll was jamming and dancing together.
"Wow," everyone said in awe as the Mant-Music Rays dropped them off before they all swam away.
Synth took a deep breath in and out, saying, "Feels good to be home, yo"!
"You said it, Synthesizer," Stereo commented.
Laguna looked around at all of the Techno Trolls that swam around, feeling a little hesitant in case one of them was someone she didn't want to see. But not wanting to let her nerves affect her mission, she breathed in and out before saying, "Feels like nothing's changed while we've been away."
"Dude, this place is totally awesome," Melody declared in awe.
"Look at all of the wondrous fish swimming about," Dante commented while spotting a school of fish swim by.
"Ayn' check out them corals, they're so pretty," Holly stated while looking at a nearby piece of pink coral that was growing in the shape of a heart.
Laguna quickly brought her friends' attention back to the main topic at hand, telling them, "OK guys, let's not get too distracted. Our main objective here is to try and find some clues to find where my mom could've gone to look for, and see if we can trace it back to her disappearance and see if she can find her there."
"Okay; so, where should we look first," McJagger asked.
"Maybe we can start by asking the older locals around in the are and see if they might know anything about Twilight or her disappearance," Aggie suggested.
"Or we ken explore the reef's library ayn' see if she's left any clues in any books she maahet've read befawe she left," Buckaroo commented while pulling out their magnifying glass.
"Why not look by the reef's museum, if there is one," Low-Note Jones suggested.
"Or perhaps we should consider examining some of her personal favorite spots around the area that she often frequented with," Dante commented.
Melody faced Laguna, asking her, "Laguna, do you remember any places that your mom really liked to go, even if it didn't have to do with exploring"?
Laguna thought about it before answering with, "Well...not straight from the top of my head; my brother would know about it more than I do. Aside from being out and exploring beyond the reef, the only thing I remember that she'd like to do was just be at home with my brother and me."
Stereo then snapped her fingers, saying, "Then, maybe we just got to go look by your house, 'Guna"!
The idea of her friends visiting her house made Laguna blush in embarrassment, the anTrollpologist shyly rubbing her left arm while saying, "I don't think that's a good idea."
"Why not," Val asked, commenting, "You said it yourself that your mom liked to be home with you and your family when she wasn't out there exploring the world. There's gotta be something there that must show some clue of where she went."
"Plus, we've never been to your house before, and while we're looking around, it'd be interesting to see where you have grown up," Dante added on.
"Yeah, yo; even when we were guppies, you always wanted to hang at the center of the reef or the library," Synth mentioned, saying, "Trollex and I haven't ever been to your house before."
"Uh, I-I'd rather that we look around here and not by my house," Laguna nervously confessed.
McJagger approached Laguna and cautiously asked her, "Are you worried we might run into..."him"...there"?
Laguna shook her head "no" in response before saying, "It's not that, although I am a little worried about that. It's moreso on the fact that if you guys saw where I lived, it might change how you see me."
"Laguna, your house wouldn't change how we see you at all," Aggie commented reassuringly.
"Aggie's raheet; we all live in different places, ayn' where we come from doesn't change much ov who we are," Holly added on.
With that in mind, Laguna let out a slow exhale through her nose before saying, "Ok, I'll...take you guys to my house. But I want to warn you ahead of time, you're gonna be shocked with what you see."
"Why? Is it a dump," Val asked in confusion.
"Val Thundershock," Melody quickly scolded her cousin while using her elbow and poking her in the ribs, causing the Rock ambassador to wince while saying, "Sorry."
Laguna replied, "No, it's not. It's...well...you'll see what I mean once we get there," before she gestured for the group to follow her to her house.
However, when the group had made it to the front of where Laguna's home was, they were all in for a shock to see that her house was a MANSION! A beautiful seashell mansion that looked like it'd house only the richest of the rich!
Everyone's jaws were dropped as they stood there, gaping at the sight of the house.
Dante noticed that Laguna herself looked jaw-dropped and asked, "Uh, why, pray tell, is your mouth open, Laguna"?
Laguna replied, which wincing in pain, "Holly's hitting me"!
Holly, who was jaw-dropped, was also hitting Laguna's side with her fist.
"Holly," Buckaroo told their best friend in a scolding manner.
Holly retorted, "Look at this place; how ken ya not hit huurr"?!
"You have to stop," Laguna shouted, trying to motion for Holly to stop.
Holly swam forward, retorting, "What are ya gonna do about it, little...rich girl"?
On cue, every Troll looked over by the corner, and saw a shiny light green sea slug that had a yellow harness on, with reins around the base of its neck, that was slowly inching its way up to the front gates. On top of the slug's head was an orange-yellow male Techno Troll dressed up in a white dress shirt, a dark blue tuxedo jacket, a red scarf on his neck, and a dark blue driver's hat on his head. Assuming that the slug was some sort of limousine, Holly shouted in disbelief, "What is that?! Ayy Slug Train"?!
Laguna then developed a playful smirk and replied, "Note: I'm gonna send you far, far away," and picked up Holly, placing her onto the right side of the slug's back.
The Techno Troll who was "driving" the slug then flicked the reins, saying, "You have boarded the C Slug Train, heading toward the backyard, the neon hot tub, and the glowstick archery rein."
Holly could only look in awe, enjoying the ride, as the slug started to slowly inch away, taking Holly in the direction it was heading.
Everyone else was looking around the front of the house, with Aggie asking in surprise, "Laguna, how do you possibly live here"?
She eyed at how far the mansion was from the heart of the reef, saying, "Look over there; from here, the other Techno Trolls all look like stars."
"Woah, baby, Low-Note Jones just saw a laser fire form the top of the roof. Oh-ho-ho, what a world," Low-Note Jones commented as he pointed to a pink laser light that shot out from the ceiling.
Laguna sheepishly shrugged while saying, "Yeah, the roof of the house also serves as an extra source of laser lights for long-lasting raves."
Val suddenly heard barking and saw a light blue dogfish swim up to the gate, barking ferociously at her, which made the Rock Troll flinch and shout, "What is that thing"?!
"That's Seymour, our guard dogfish," Laguna replied while swimming up to the fence, giving the dogfish a small pet on the head with her finger, which got it to calm down and smile happily.
McJagger saw a large bookshelf through one of the windows of the house, asking, "Is this your library"?
Laguna swam over to him and nodded, saying, "Yes; we have a vast library full of a lot of historical books," before adding, "But don't worry, guys; we also have the current editions of Troll history and culture context of other Troll tribes as well."
Seeing that even with a lot of this amazing stuff, Laguna was still the same eager bookworm that her friends all knew and love, which was great to hear, making Synth say, "That's glad to hear, yo; you're still our favorite anTrollpologist we know, no matter how fancy your house is."
"I don't think a fancy house like this would change any of us," Stereo added.
Suddenly, the group saw the Slug Train return and saw Holly, who was now decked in really fancy glowing bracelets, had silver seashell bling around her neck and hooves, and was wearing a large beautifully braided kelp-crown with starfishes on it that wrapped around her helmet. She saw the inquisitive looks her friends had and commented, "What? Ay stopped at the gift shop."
"Oy very," Buckaroo stated quietly while pinching their eyes.
Laguna swam up to the door and slowly turned the knob, opening it, before she gestured her friends to come inside, which they instantly prompted to and followed.
"Wow," the group all commented in awe as they entered Laguna's house, immediately greeted by the sight of a glorious dining room that looked big enough to host 7 families and looked around.
"Sweet guitar picks, the interior is even bigger than the exterior," Melody exclaimed while looking inside one of the rooms, which was a game room with a pearl and pebble pool table, an urchin dart board, and loads of other games inside that any Troll would spend hours playing. The Rock/Pop Troll squeaked excitedly, saying, "You got some really good games in here"!
"Y'all's kitchen is massive! Ay bet ya ken make at least 20 dozen cakes in here," Buckaroo commented while looking at the kitchen.
Laguna shyly blushed while saying, "35 and 3/4 to be precise; measured one time when I was bored and my father wouldn't read me a story."
"Woah, is this an art room," Aggie asked while pointing to a room where there were a bunch of paintings, drawings, posters, and all sorts of art supplies scattered around.
Laguna nodded, saying, "Yep, I hung out in there when it got too noisy at home."
"Yo, hold up," Synth commented when he saw something that made him smile, saying to Laguna, "Dude! You got eclairs on a giant dessert table in this office," as he pointed to an office near the back left end of the house. In the office, there was a work desk, equipment, speakers, papers, pens, a metallic name card that said "Marcus Tidepool" on it, a large table in the middle of the office, and near the table was a giant dessert table filled with all kinds of desserts, including puff pastries, cakes, and eclairs.
Laguna quickly swam up toward the office entrance and blocked it, saying, "Oh no, no, no; we are NOT allowed in there under any circumstances! That...is my father's home-working office, and we can't go in there under any circumstances, nor touch anything in ther either. He'd know if something was touched or messed with, and I do not want to give him any clues that we, or moreso I, was in here."
Synth, luckily, understood very well and commented, "Understood, 'Guna."
"Man, I still can't believe you grew up in a place like this," Val commented, asking, "How on earth could your family afford this"?
"Well, when your father's the head executive boss of a dark yet thriving company, there is but a lot of excess finances brought in, some i don't ;like questioning about," Laguna replied with an unsure shrug.
"How are we gonna faand clues about your mama in here, Laguna? With so many rooms, we don't even know where ta look first," Holly asked.
As the rest of the group gathered up, Laguna proposed, "Note: we'll have to try and find clues in the rooms where my mom most associated with. This house is big, but we won't have to look too far since she only like to go into certain rooms as far as my memory serves me right."
"So, which room do you propose we go in first," Low-Note inquired.
Laguna thought hard before saying, "My parents' bedroom would be a good place to start, but...we'd run the risk of accidentally messing with any of my father's stuff, and the last thing I want is for him to see that his things got messed with."
"How about the library," McJagger suggested, mentioning, "I'm sure that there must be plenty of books there about a lot of historic sights that your mom must've read about that she'd want to find. Maybe one of them could be the one that she went to find where she wound up disappearing."
"What about the observatory? I noticed that there was one by the roof with a telescope sticking out of one of the windows, and perhaps someone of high intelligence and an energetic spirit would have resided there," Dante offered.
"There's a patio by the backyard; did you mom like to go outside sometimes," Aggie asked curiously.
Laguna took these suggestions to heart before replying, "Well, out of the mentioned ideas so far, the library is the best one that we should go look at first. My mother was a very avid reader and loved to read the books we had and get more to add to our shelves; she read me many of my bedtime stories in the library, and I loved curling up in her lap, leaning up against her chest and listening to her heartbeat while she read to me."
"Awww," everyone said in awe.
"Just then I thought my girlfriend couldn't get anymore cuter," McJagger commented quietly in awe, his cheek flashing a red blush while his eyes glimmered in awe.
"Hey, Romeo, return back to Earth for a minute, will ya," Val stated while flicking him on the backside of his neck, snapping the Funk Troll back into reality.
Laguna then declared, "Alright, guys; follow me, and I'll show you over to the library where we can start looking."
Everyone began to follow Laguna as they made their way to the library, but what the group of Trolls was unaware of was that not too long after the group was heading to the library room, a shadow was seen on the floor, which meant only one thing" they were not alone in this house.
Meanwhile, Laguna led her friends into the library, opening the door so they could walk in before closing it behind her after everyone was inside.
The interior of the library was amazing; light green walls with dark green kelp patterns on them, dark tan wooden book shelves loaded with so many books that reached all the way up to the ceiling above the room. There were two sets of ladder steps that helped reach the higher books, and on the floor, there was a long red couch that a group of people could sit on, a long stone coffee table and two dark red easy chairs that a single person could sit in each. The final touch was a large window where you could see everything from.
"Boo, you officially have the coolest library in the world," McJagger commented in awe.
Laguna blushed heavily while replying, "Awww, well, thank you, McJagger."
"Wow, you have so many books in here, Laguna! I bet it'd take one person weeks to even finish half of them in here," Aggie stated in amazement.
"Ayn' look at how they're organized; historic landmarks, modern landmarks, postmodern landmarks; so sophisticated," Holly mentioned.
"No wonder your mother likes to hang out in here; we could spend hours of wondrous time engulfing ourselves in the wonderful world of literature," Dante commented happily.
Laguna swam over to one of the bookshelves, picked up one of the books, and looked at it fondly, saying, "Yep, I loved to spend my free time here, just curled up with a good book, enriching my mind and expanding my knowledge."
"Which shelf has books about artifacts or ancient treasures? We can start reading through those books and see if we find any clues Twilight might've left behind," Stereo suggested.
Laguna placed the book she had in her hands back in its place before swimming over to the shelf that had just the exact books that talked about ancient artifacts and treasures and pulled out a bunch of books before handing them to her friends.
Each with a book in their hands, they all found places to sit down and began to read, and for the next half-hour, they all silently read together, analyzing closely for any source of clues that could lead to where Twilight had gone or what she was looking for on the night she left.
Synth noticed a bookmark in the book he had and pulled it out, seeing that the bookmark was purple and had the initials TT on it. He smiled, saying while showing off the bookmark, "Hey, yo, I found something! This book had a bookmark in it"!
"Hey, there's one in mine too," Melody said while pointing to the bookmark in her book.
"Same here, baby," Low-Note Jones commented with a chuckle.
"Maane too," Buckaroo commented.
"They all appear to have bookmarks in them," Dante stated when he saw that all of the books that they were reading appeared to have a bookmark in them.
Laguna noticed this and theorized, "Note: I think that these bookmarks indicate things and/or places that my mother has found already. I mean, this one here in my book talking about the ancient conch-shell horn of the AzTrollian tribes, I remember seeing it when I was a baby one time when my mom took me to the reef's museum."
"So, if the bookmarks indicate stuff and places that your mom found already, then we need new books that DON'T have any bookmarks," Val suggested.
McJagger placed the book he had down and climbed up the ladder, looking up at the shelf and sifting through the books, saying, "This one is marked, and this one is marked, and this one too. this one, this one, this one..." and the more artifact and treasure books he looked at, he saw that they all had bookmarks in them, After sifting through a good portion of the books, he climbed back down, saying, "Every one of them in the artifacts and treasure category all have bookmarks in them."
"Which means that she found a lot of these artifacts and treasures," Laguna stated.
"Wow, to have found that many, that deserves a great deal of respect; I can see how she's so well-known for exploration," Aggie commented, impressed.
"Should we try to looking at a different section on the bookshelf," Stereo asked curiously.
Suddenly, the Trolls' attention became distracted when they heard the sound of someone knocking on the door.
They all gasped in shock, with Laguna whimpering nervously.
"Sounds like someone else's here," Dante hesitantly stated, his knees quaking.
"Let's not lose our cool yet, Trolls; maybe it's just the mansion's staff," Low-Note Jones suggested, trying to sound optimistic, but when the knocking sound came back, the Trolls all became a little more nervous.
Laguna could feel her knees shake and her breathing become ragged in nervousness as she was worried that whoever was knocking was someone who was gonna think she and her friends were strangers who came to ransack the place.
"Who-who-who's gonna answuurr that," Holly hesitantly asked.
Every Troll looked at one another nervously, unsure of who felt the bravest to approach the door and open it to see who was knocking.
McJagger soon stepped up, saying, "I'll do it," and approached the door slowly. He grabbed the doorknob with his paw and slowly turned the knob. He then opened it slowly, with everyone bracing whoever it was that was on the other side.
As the door opened, the figure revealed to be a male Techno Troll who looked to be about a year older than Laguna was. he had midnight blue skin, dark lavender stripes on his head fins, turquoise hair that was styled similar to Branch's, matching turquoise eyes and mouth, a reddish-pinkish heart, and colorful neon lights on his tail fins, different from the normal pixilated design on tailfins, with turquoise tips on his tailfins, and black-and-white armbands on his arms. He appeared to be wearing a black leather vest, a black mouth bandanna with a gold shark's mouth design on it, and black fingerless gloves on his hands.
The minute that the figure saw McJagger, the figure screamed in fright, and in hilarious fashion, his voice sounded very high-pitched before he recoiled his arm back and punched McJagger hard in his right front leg.
McJagger recoiled backward, holding his leg while saying, "Ow, Troll Louise! What was that for"?
"Ah, that stranger punched McJagger, yo," Synth shouted in shock.
"Oh, he's gonna pay," Val stated as she got up, cracking her knuckles while saying, "I'd say he'll last two hours till I'm done with him."
"Let's make it one," Melody added as she got up alongside Val and tried to crack her own knuckles, but the feeling of doing it was very painful, causing the Pop/Rock Troll to wince and shake her hands while saying, "Ow."
Laguna, feeling concerned that this person was gonna hurt her friends (though she didn't know who it was at first), swam up to the Techno Troll and started to tell him, "Sir, please don't hurt my friends. I was just-,"
But when she got a closer look at who it was, she gasped, covering her mouth with one of her hands before uncovering it and saying, surprised and seeming to recognize who it was, "Finn"?
The figure, now identified, noticed Laguna and gasped, asking, "Laguna? Is that you"?
Laguna nodded slowly, her concerned frown growing into a smile as she said, "Yes, it's me; it's really good to see you again"!
Finn, though while feeling very sheepish about earlier, did maintain a little bit of composure so he could form a semi-smile and say, "Back at'cha, sis."
Then, Laguna swam up to Finn and gave him a hug, with the male Techno hesitantly responding at first. But, seeing that his little sister looked happy to see him, he brought his arms up and slowly hugged her back.
"Wait a minute, they know each other," Val asked, with confused looks riddling in, mixed with the surprised looks that they all had.
Meanwhile, the rest of Laguna's friends were watching this, with Aggie saying in surprise, "Oh golly, that must be her older brother that she mentioned earlier"!
"Hot dang, ay didn't know she had ayy olduurr brothuurr," Holly stated in surprise.
"It's like everyone's revealing secret relatives today," Dante commented out loud before asking, "Does anyone else has family secrets that we don't know about"?
No one said anything at first until Val stated while pointing at Melody, "Melly's adopted if that's anything secret."
Melody gasped before she sternly crossed her arms and told Val bitterly, "Valentina Dangerskull Thundershock, you swore you'd never bring that up"!
The clammer of chatter behind both Laguna and Finn prompted the siblings to separate and look behind them, with Finn asking, "Uh, what the bloody hell is going on"?
Laguna replied, looking back at her friends before back up at Finn, "Well, it's a very, very long story."
