*next day at School*

So it was a new day as Kate, Jim and Toby were walking together during free period
"So, what did you decide?" Toby asked as he nudged his arm
"That if anyone finds out what happened in my kitchen last night, we'll all be committed" Jim told him
"I ment about kicking Steve's butt" Toby corrected as he did some punches

"Give up the dream, dude" Kate told him as she walked beside the right of Jim but then they both heard a ding coming from Jim's bag as Toby basically looked inside
"Does this thing run on batteries?" Toby asked as the bell rang in the background "what's it doing?" He asked again as Jim placed his hand over it

"How should I know? It didn't come with a manual" Jim whispered to Toby
"Are you feeling like you're gonna, you know, change?" Kate asked him as she moved in front of him
"Oh no"

"We got to get you someplace that's not out here!" Toby quickly said, without a second to spare, he pushed Jim towards the boys locker room but he also accidentally pushed Kate along with him
"Wait, Toby, agh!" She was pushed into the boys locker room as well

Once inside the locker room, Jim did change into his armour as he stumbled back and fell  with a very loud *clank* as Kate and Toby followed him then Jim got up
"Okay, why did it do that?" Jim asked as he looked at the armour
"And why did you push me in here? I'm not even aloud in here" Kate scolded Toby with a irritated expression

But then she turned around and faced a bright red locker as she gasped at it and instantly knew who it belonged to
"This is Darrel's locker" she said happily as she began touching the locker with a smile

"Kate, this is no time to be a stalker" Toby told her but they were interrupted by a door opening from the entrance

"Jim? Jim, are you in here?" Mr. Strickler called as Jim, Toby and Kate quickly scattered back as they scooted up against the lockers
"Keep him out of here" Jim whispered to Toby
"How?" Toby asked
"Just go"

"Fine" Toby got up from under the bench as he went to distract Mr. Strickler
"I'm not supposed to be here" Kate said as she quickly ran and hid behind the corner of some lockers so Mr. Strickler doesn't see her and Kate doesn't want another detention....she already has 369 detentions this year

"Jim, I don't think that's appropriate school attire, do you?" She heard Mr. Strickler asked as she pressed herself more against the lockers and she can hear Toby internally freaking out

"Oh yeah, this, huh, funny story about this, it's uh..." Jim trailed off but then he spotted the Romeo and Juliet poster behind Mr. Stickler as he spoke again "For Romeo and Juliet" he said

Kate face-palmed, really the play? That's the best he can think of? Kate actually already did a audition yesterday for the play but she knew she wouldn't get the part

"Yeah, it's for the tryouts" Toby added "yes! The tryouts for Romeo and Juliet!" Jim repeated
"Jim's going to totally smoke those auditions" Toby said before leaning onto Jim "I mean, look at his costume, it's so realistic" he knocked on the metal chestplate

"What happened to the chess club?" Asked Mr. Strickler
"Oh, uh.." Jim stammered "I'm doing they too apparently" he said
"Hmm well you'd better hurry then" Mr. Strickler told him
"What?"
"I believe auditions end in five minutes"

"Give me my Romeo and when he shall die, take him and cut him out in little stars and he will make the face and heaven so fine" Claire Nunez said as she was in stage with Ms. Janeth and other students watching her while jim, toby and Kate were backstage, watching her as well

"That all of the world will be in love with night" she finished as people started to clap into a mild applause
"It would have been easier to tell him that I'm a Trollhunter, I don't even know the play" Jim said to Toby

"Thank you, Ms. Nunez" ms. Janeth said as she wrote on her clipboard while Eli sat beside her while wearing a cupboard box that was drawn to look like armor

Claire bowed her head before she started walking towards backstage and spotted Jim, Toby and Kate
"John?" She questioned with her arms crossed
"Um, Jim" Jim corrected her

"And here I thought you didn't like Shakespeare" Claire told him
"Oh, no, he's my favourite. I totally love him" Jim lied just to impress her but Claire looked at his armor as she peered at it and moved closer to get a better look
"That costume is incredible, did you make it?" She asked

"No. He found a magical amulet that makes it" Toby spoke suddenly
"Along with two giant stone people" Kate joined in for fun as she held in her laughter

Claire chuckled "you two are funny" she said as Jim looked at them, really annoyed
"Yeah, you're both real comedians, aren't you?" He sarcastically said as he glared at them with annoyance

"Next!" Ms. Janeth called from the seats
"I think that's your cue" Claire told him as she moved to the side and smiled whilst Kate and Jim patted Jim's shoulder and back
"Break a leg" Claire said as Jim began to walk on stage while muttering "I'd prefer that"

Jim walked onto stage as people began to murmur about him when Kate heard someone
"Oh hey kate" Kate turned around to see Darrel standing there, smiling as Kate jumped at his presence
"D-darrel!" She squeaked "I didn't know you were h-here" she giggled nervously. God stupid hormones

"Yeah, I'm gonna audition today, what about you?" Darrel asked her as Kate jumped again
"Umm well. I already auditioned yesterday" she said nervously as Darrel chuckled
"I bet it was amazing" he told her with a smile as Kate looked down with a shy smile

At the corner of her eye. She spotted Toby smirking at her with a 'you like him' face whilst Claire was busying herself with watching Jim
"Hey Kate, Jimbo's gonna audition!" Toby snapped Kate out of her thoughts as he literally turned Kate around towards Jim and it was true, Jim was actually just being a little awkward on stage. Obviously not knowing what to say or do

Jim glanced at Claire, Toby and Kate as Toby gave Jim a thumbs up and Kate gave him a determined nod and Claire was just smiling at him as Jim's frown slowly turned into a smile before facing the small crowd

"Uh..." He trailed off, desperately thinking of something to say "Destiny..." He takes a deep breath "Destiny is...a gift" his amulet dings as it shun brighter than before
"Some go their entire lives living an existence of quiet desperation..." Jim began as Claire went and sat next to Darrel who was also sitting.
"Never learning the truth that what feels as though a burden pushing down upon our shoulders..." Jim felt himself get more confident as Kate grinned and Jim then brought out his sword of Daylight and pointed it to the crowd as they gasped
"Is actually the sense of purpose that lifts us to greater heights. Never forget that fear is but the precursor to valor" Jim continued as Ms. Janeth fixed her glasses and said something to Claire
"That to strive and triumph in the face of fear is what it means to be a hero!" He raised his sword high as it shun with the lights "Don't think...." He then swung it around as people flinched and gasped before Jim placed his sword back
"Become..."

Then the hall was erupt by applause as Ms. Janeth was clutching her clipboard to herself from Jim's audition "oh my" Jim smiled again once he saw everyone's reaction
"Woah" Kate said in amazement as Shannon and Mary gave a standing ovation

"Um, thank you" Jim said before Eli angrily stood up from his chair and flung his cardboard sword to the ground and stomping off as Claire stood from her chair and walked towards Jim as she moved some hair behind her ear
"Jim, that was remarkable" she told him

"Really? I didn't even think, I just sort of said it" Jim said as Claire laughed
"That's acting!" She said before placing a hand on his shoulder plate
